Post by: bog on September 21, 2017, 08:30:01 AM

We need to keep our Class A Academy so at least we have a fighting chance keeping these guys. Hopefully he is receiving wise advice.

Exactly. Mat, look at what happened to Pat Roberts who took the City route. Now faffing about for Celtic.

Imagine where Sess would be now if he'd have gone. Certainly wouldn't have the 4th most minutes in his team. I wonder if Hyndman regrets it as well, I dont think he's ever got on the pitch for Bournemouth.

Do you know what I had forgotten about him already.  fp.gif As you say where would he be if he had stayed?

Haven't seen anything on Edun signing his contract that was offered him in summer either, anyone heard anything?
Surprised he has not featured on the bench - indicators that he may be off like Adinarian? Both made Ist team debut's alongside against Orient just over a year ago poor management to lose both.
Still regret the club didn't do enough to keep Hyndman, Kit publically questioning hes choice to play for USA and practically ostracising him after was very poor which could have cost the club points as well. Rather Hyndmann as replacement for Cairney than Norwood.

Edun signed and was on the bench the first few games and played both league cup games. Adeniran made us 4m (incl add ons) so I wouldn't say it as poor decision making considering he was probably 7-8th choice.

Hyndman was to lightweight for this league, would have been great in the prem  potentially though.

Seems a textbook case of a young man making his way in the world and using the limelight to wangle a lucrative outcome..

I'm referring of course to the senior sports reporter of the Southampton Echo who has managed to get this speculative space filler published by the Mirror.

As long as we keep hold of our youngsters, and not be used as a stables and breeding ground for the big vultures that start circling.
The club I hope have learnt their lessons and make sure we are in the driving seat as much as possible. Therefore, if we have no choice, not losing players for a song, but I would prefer to keep them. ⚽️⚽️

I suspect Roberts is not doing too badly, probably pocketting a better wage than he was here, playing for a winning team in front of large home crowds, playing in European football and collecting silverware

People make me laugh when they talk about keeping these young players.
Unfortunately they are under all sorts of influences these days and young heads can be easily turned.
Hyndman was told to find himself a bigger club ages before he left and this was from the Manager of the USA team. He is German -Jurgen Klinsmann?
To his credit Hyndman made this public very early on so how could anyone accuse the club of negligence in not trying to keep him?
