We are sincerely horrible to watch. Don't know where we will get another win this season. I haven't been this forlorn in so long. Depressing.
Lots will say "what did you expect, it's man united"..... ?
For one I would have thought we could have at least played for a point against a Man U with a poor run of form.
United are now 6th Bla Bla Bla - Arsenal are on reasonable form, currently 4th , yet Huddersfield were holding them to nil nil until very late!!

Well the first half was a train wreck. But dare I say poor tactics from the manager. Second half much better in spots. Better tactics from the manager. I don't like to blame referees but he spoilt the game. The penalty for us was very debatable. Considering Kamara was involved and it is claimed he dives I think the ref would have been a little more careful. But then the ref makes up for it with a poor sending off for a fair tackle.
However we were awful for much of the game.

The penalty was a penalty. Kamara is about to shoot and gets taken out. Yes some of the ball was touched, but both legs were taken as well, definite foul. By rights, as Kamara was one on one, six yards out, he was denied a clear goal scoring opportunity, should have been red card.
We were pretty poor and didn't deserve anything from the game, but the ref not carding the Utd player for cleaning out the striker in front of goal and then carding Anguissa for an innocuous challenge near the halfway line, well it's worth a grumble.

Herrera got the ball, but also the back leg of kamara first, taking him out in the penalty area - definitely not a dive. I think it was a penalty, but Anguissa should not have been sent off. Rashford's acrobatic fall probably triggered the referee into thinking it was a worse tackle than it was

Dare I ask how it's an overreaction? We have 8 points from a potential 50 points or so. This season is beyond rapprochement. If you can somehow justify the shambolic nature of this team, please tell me how you've managed it, I'd like to try the same.

You are correct, we may not be relegated yet, but all signs and statistics point to it. Yes, we can get again grab a "Great Escape", but it doesn't bode well with performances AND results like that. This is no overreaction, it's the culmination of a 2-2-11 season.

We are almost relegated. 9 out of 48 points. To stay up we need at least 35 points.
Not capable of picking away points. Only two wins at home. Who do we attract in January being rock bottom?
West Ham at home is to be or not to be game. Fail to win, and we need miracle to stay up. Not say impossible, but improbable.

Seri and Anguissa are ever so good and well worth 50 million, how lucky we are to have them!
We have a soft underbelly, and we are relegation fodder. We were a poor second today with no heart beat and very little resilience, too many players like Vieto. Schurrie, Anguissa and Seri don't fancy it or are just not equipped to play in this League.
Weak mentality and gutless.

it kind of is. We certainly we will another game probably next week. Oh and we have 9 points
I do tend to agree that there is an element of over reaction but it is understandable. As I said on another thread, we can't defend, can't play away and don't beat the top clubs. What else but a routine defeat was ever going to happen? But of course we all live in hope!
As to the comments about Seri and Zambo, I have to say that despite Seri showing the odd spark neither is what we need and neither would find a place in any other Premier team starting 11 that I can think of. Nuff said.

Questions really do have to be asked about those four, never before have so many done so little and cost so much in wages and transfer fees. How can we ensure that we do not make the same mistakes again in the winter window.

I thought the same as you, bang on penalty and second yellow was very questionable.
As others have pointed out, we have played Citeh, ManU, Chels, Liverpool and Spuds away plus the Arse at home so far. Our season was never going to be determined by those games but by the games against the teams around us. We played poorly today and Ranieri has learned how much work is needed yet to get this team playing better. You can criticize individuals throughout the team for the first half from Rico to Schurrle, perhaps with exception of Mawson and Bryan and I am sure there was full and frank discussion after the game in the changing room.
Taking off Cairney and Mitro was a smart move once we were 3-0 down to save them for West Ham ( I assume TC for fitness and Mitro to avoid a yellow card).
Hope Chambers injury is minor and he is back against the Hammers.

That is a mystery to me also, must be some gremlins in the laptop keyboard, did I mean Kline I wonder?
This might be stretching credibility but I think individually many of our squad could do a job in a decent PL team but that's the point we are not a decent team!
There's a lack of understanding between the players, commitment to each other and the cause, the kind of last ditch tackle or block you that you see in every other team for 90 minutes just doesn't happen with our lot.
I hope this bit makes sense but I feel its not a case of whether they care or not because they haven't got to the stage of being a close unit yet and its only at that stage can you collectively dig as deep as possible to compete at this level.
For me the biggest problem was getting promoted with a relatively thin squad boosted by loan players who generally weren't good enough for the PL, therefore we didn't just need to add some quality we needed to build a whole new team.
Mitro apart, we were always racing against time to build a team from the few players from last season that could step up to the PL and the many new recruits needed.
I can't help feeling that if the managers list of players he wanted was given priority and early enough (and he must of had one) things may of been a bit better?

Very well put
The very things that are helping grind out results for teams like Cardiff are completely absent from our club, management , players and fans . They have a grit , a sense of real team work and are together in a form of "Dunkirk spirit " that has completely disappeared from us .
I just hope that Ranieri is given the tools to build a squad that will play the way he wants to . Anything less will surely see us returning to the Championship
By my rusty maths skills and steam-driven calculator we are bang on course to achieve a mighty 21.375 points - be generous, call it 22 - by the time this disastrous season draws to a close. :023:

I agree, apart from what you say on the manager. If Ranieri is 2nd rate, then that makes Jokanovicć 3rd rate. Also re. TC, funny how he's allowed to be 'dispirited', and yet when the other players don't put a shift in they're not fit to wear the shirt and should be lynched.

No, Ranieri and Jokanovic tried the same players in defence and midfield and got the same result. That makes them equals in my book.
Well, I was in UK for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed the Southampton match and also, 2nd half against Leicester, we battered them. Should have won that one too. All is not lost but bottom at xmas (if we are) does not bode well.

I agree, apart from what you say on the manager. If Ranieri is 2nd rate, then that makes Jokanovicć 3rd rate.
No, Ranieri and Jokanovic tried the same players in defence and midfield and got the same result. That makes them equals in my book.
Ranieri has managed and has won trophies at some of the biggest clubs across Europe, whilst Jokanović has won 2 promotions to the Championship and the Serbian title, it is frankly disrespectful to Ranieri to suggest that his achievements are on the same level.
