Title: How many honest Fulham supporters thought we could win today
Post by: The Swan on December 08, 2018, 06:10:17 PM
I don't think many Fulham supporters thought we could win or even get a draw.
It sounded as if we played our worst game under our new manager.

Hopefully now we have played three of the top teams away and lost we might start to win against teams in the lower half of the table.

Starting at home to West Ham

It was 1 of our worst games this season, flattered by the result really! As for starting to win games against anybody, really wouldn't stick my neck out on that, but we might get the odd draw or 2. It will be a lot clearer when we find which position we are in after Boxing Day, I will predict 20th and well adrift from the team in 17th position.

I predicted 2-0  Manure, I expected it and it was just a little worse so broadly aligned to my expectations. We can't defend, we can't play away, we can't beat top Prem clubs so what did anyone expect?

As someone whose seen every ManU game over the past 4 years, their on the pitch form has been some of the worst I've seen in that time.

Yes, a draw should have been very possible because generally, when teams park the bus United aren't tactical enough to score goals.

Fulham didn't have a player on the pitch today to cover for Chambers and Christie not being there.   In other words, there was not grafter on the pitch to protect the back line.

United win by individual player skills at certain points.   That, and the occasional header delivered by one of their tall players.

You can beat them with good team play.    Well, Fulham don't play good team football.

I still don't know why anyone is still against dropping Seri for a good run of games considering we've only won two games with him, and those two wins arguably had nothing to do with him except for a cracking goal against Burnley.

Fulham need an N'Golo waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy more than they need a luxury #10 player in the midfield.

I didn't expect to win but hoped for a performance to show that we were in the game. Sounds as if we were thrashed again.

Blind faith is a wonderful thing and prevents all sorts of logical decisions.

My two Grandsons and I participate in a results prediction game every Saturday.

Delighted to find despite their eminately  sensible predictions elsewhere all three of us had Fulham down for an away win.

Bet against my team ......Just can't do it

No, didn't think we'd win but in these type of games ie against the top 6 it's mote about attitude & effort. That first half lacked both - an awful performance.

I honestly thought a draw or even a win was possible. But I wasn't there so can't make any judgements.

I sincerely believed we had a chance of winning, although my heart missed a beat when I saw the lineup, but I had not prepared myself for a hollow gutless and mediocre performance from many of our players.
I would like to see the first player we purchase in January Captain material, a Leader and a Warrior, and a fighter.  Somebody who will stand up and be counted and not shrink under a blade of grass like many did today.
I then want this Leader, this Character this Winner to be joined by other winners and fighters who understand what it takes to survive in this League, preferably chosen by the Manager, not the snowflake stats merchants. I would like them to keep out of it.
I don't care how old they are as long as they keep us in the Premier League, that's all that counts.

Win or lose is not the point in a game like this.
We need to compete, and we do not

Why do we keep reading this crap on here?
Were only little Fulham, we can't possibly beat Manure,City,Chelsea, The Arsenal, Spurs...Why do we bother to play them...
We were playing a team who have been rubbish for weeks now, really gets me down.
When Sir Alex was manager of Aberdeen and they were about to play Real Madrid in European final, some idiot from the BBC said to him"Do you think little old Aberdeen have any chance?
Fergie said what's the size of the club got to do with anything, and my team are twice as good as them lot.
I don't get this fear of playing the so called big clubs,if that's the case we might as well not bothered coming up from the Championship.

+1.

It wasn't whether we predicted a win or a loss.  I wanted to see a positive performance and what I saw was 90 minutes of absolute tripe. As much as I hate to say it, one of the main culprits was Cairney.  We had a captain that played was subbed off at half time and gave us 45 minutes of nothing.  I expect our onfield leaders to have a bit more passion and fight then that.

I thought Anguissa was terribly unlucky to get sent off but doesn't hide the fact that he is totally out of his depth in this league.  Seri not far behind him. I want to see us find some central midfielders with a bit of grunt.  Someone who can hold onto the ball and not get blown over in a stiff breeze.

It's not losing at Old Trafford that is bothering me, it's the manner in which we lost.

The team selection was baffling and the performance was abysmal.

This is one of the worst United sides we've ever faced in the Premier league, so there was every reason to believe we could have got something from this match.

I was ready to write off the rest of the season at 5pm today, but there's still 22 games to go.

Onwards and upwards.
