Let's hope Clownio joins him on the unemployed managers list very soon.

we should offer to pay Puel's compensation in return for Leicester taking Ranieri back

If only but let's not forget he was ousted by a combination of player power and angry fans so that door is well and truly bolted. Alas we have a similar scenario developing here albeit unlike the final demise of Slav there are no leaks of player discontent yet other than the opposing views offered by Cairney. However if body language told us anything some of the players are shouting louder than us.

So does that mean we could get rid of CR and sign up Puell?  :023:

I'd have him in a heartbeat. He's been sacked for trying to bring youngsters in and play progressive football - which is just what we need - and Vardy and Kaspar's dad didn't like it.

With the Khans' judgement it would not surprise me. He was our first choice in 2015 but rejected the move, following which we turned to Jokanovic.

Southampton have gone backwards since he left there so he must be fairly useful at this level

Steve Clarke as a number 2 to Parker, yes. But not as manager.

They finished 8th and reached the semi final with him. Some downward spiral!

Puel has been sacked twice for being competent.

He got saints to 8th and Leicester to 9th last season, they were an aging team and he replaced Morgan, Huth and others with a more youthful mixture. He's trying to build a team without Vardy who is 30+, (although I'm not sure that's quite so sensible). He is also trying to change their style of play from a counterattacking team to a more balanced style.

I would take him in a heartbeat. He had a good reputation in France with a young side.

He is being lined up for Celtic job, apparently. Won't be coming near us. CR will be with us until the end of the season. Don't believe that the current custodians have any appetite to get rid of him until then.
