Fulham players convinced Scott Parker will land permanent job after back-to-back wins

Fulham players are convinced Scott Parker will be appointed manager at Craven Cottage on a permanent basis

Caretaker boss Parker has boosted his chance of landing the job with back-to-back wins against Everton and Bournemouth, and he has huge support from within the dressing room.

The Fulham hierarchy have been impressed with the work Parker has done since replacing Claudio Ranieri and, while no final decision has been made on their next manager, senior staff at the club are working with the 38-year-old to put plans in place for the

Championship next season.

Parker has discussed potential transfer targets and has helped put together plans for a pre-season programme which is likely to include games in Portugal.

Fulham players including Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon want Parker to get the job full-time and the core of the squad want to

finish the season strongly to strengthen his claims for the role.

The Cottagers host Cardiff on Saturday and there is growing belief among the players that Parker will be given the job if they continue their good form.

Thoughts anyone?

Parker has had a huge impact on and off the pitch in the seven weeks since being placed in temporary charge and has won many admirers for the way he has tackled the job.

The former England midfielder could not prevent Fulham being relegated but he has transformed the mood around the club. His personal man management has helped foster a good team spirit and he has also shown he is capable tactically. Fulham players have been receptive to his coaching methods on the training pitch and he has helped get the best out of Cairney and Sessegnon, who were not playing to their potential under Ranieri.

Parker guided Fulham to their first away win of the season on Saturday when they beat Bournemouth 1-0.

After the game he addressed the players in the dressing room at the Vitality Stadium and told them he was proud of their efforts since he took over. Parker said: "Since I came into this position they have given me absolutely everything.

We are in a better place than we were a few weeks go, just need to win a couple of the remaining games and continue to show some passion and organisation, SP's odds of taking over must be coming down?

I think there is going to be a surprise, and got a feeling in my water that we might just swoop for Rafa.

Ole Gunnar Solskjear, struggling now, with Neville stating he is only playing the guys he gets along with (the same thing Jose was doing prior to his departure).

If the team do not have absolute confidence in the gaffer and vice a versa then collapse is not far away. The boss really needs to be a consummate professional.

If Scotty and the team pull off a result on Saturday then his credibility doubles.

Why would Sess care if Parker gets the job? Does he secretly want to stay?
Please, please, please!

The thing I still find a bit odd is - Mr Parker replaced Mr Gray.... Mr Parker becomes caretaker manager, and Mr Gray is re-employed.....now - were the powers to be wrong in getting rid of Mr Gray....or have they re-employed Mr Gray knowing we're heading for the championship....or did Mr Parker want Mr Gray..... it's a bit like soap... Bert & alien Bert

I hope the Khans will see this as a way to redeem themselves.

The backroom room staff was very thin before this and I remembered Joka even rejecting having a modern Sport Psychologist
in the team because he said he can do it himself.

Parker will need all the help he can get and maybe, just maaayyybee...

.... we can find a sweet spot between A.I. computer recruitment and a top class management team to get a great performance on the pitch.

Why would he leave? He's young...he'll start next season, and the Khans can pay him.    Odds are Fulham will be back in the big league within 2 seasons.

Not liking the manager (Claudio) and the manager not believing in him would have been more than enough reason for Sess to be driven away.  Same with Cairney.    If Sess thinks SP will be manager he's going to sign a new contract with FFC.

Sadly he hasn't signed it (yet)

Cairney and Sess et al have no business saying that Parker should manage FFC next season - unless they are staying.

Think TC will he likes London just had a Kid probably wont move, think he'll give it a season to bounce back, as for Sess thats a tough one hasnt really set the premier league on fire, might just be thinking a season in the championship playing every game and leave on a free at the end of next season if we don't go up,

As much as I love Sess we would be mad to let him play put his contract and then go for free when we could get such a good fee for him now.

With decent recruitment we could get at least two good Championship players for any fee this summer.

Once in the championship we come under FFP again so Sess will move on to free up some cash

First, I am in the Scotty in camp.  I think he has shown a professionalism that we lost with Slav.  I also believe he brings a respect that the players get and understand.  More importantly, that are willing to follow.

Second, it is my understanding that several contracts have been written that there will be a wage reduction for players who are still under contract and are expected to drop with the club to the Championship level.

If the second part is to be believed, then the Khans have done some shrewd business in ensuring that certain players stay with the club.

The season has indeed been a soap opera, a very sad one, but I believe JOka had something to do with Gray leaving.

Yeah, the only way this makes sense is if the club asked Joka if he wanted to keep Gray around as his contract was running out and Slavisa not wanting him around.

Scott has improved us but it's impossible to see whether that's down to the pressure being off the guys, whether it's actually just down to Stuart Gray, or if the players are playing better to gain a new contract elsewhere, putting themselves in the shop window so to speak.

Talksport had an interview with Scott today, one of the things he said was I talk to the owners a lot and we have had talks about plans for next season but at no time have we discussed my future. Went on to say no matter what happens he will leave the club in a better place than when he took over

Shouldn't it be the other way round?

Discuss his future first mostly and then work together for the plans of next season?

We would be back to the Ranieri-syndrome to bring in a 'name' for next season, which would totally disrupt whats being built. The present Team Management is working - Parker's grit & will to win, the experience of Gray + Wells who works with, & embraces Parker's techniques. We are seeing performances more akin to Jokanovic, which is both pleasing and satisfying after what's been served up previously.
Hoping that our improvement continues this afternoon with a good footballing display against a no frills side fighting for their lives.
If it does, it'll be very difficult not to reward our Management Team with permanent contracts.

You mean getting confirmation of Parker or anyone else as the coach ASAP will cause deadline day transfer panic?

I thought delaying the coach's future commitment is the one that will cause the domino effect of delayed planning, no?
