Title: Old Sod's Army-Three most admired players
Post by: bog on July 01, 2019, 01:42:40 PM
Now we have exited the Premier League in such a stunning fashion who are your top three players you respect most up there now?

Mine are:-

1 Jamie Vardy. How he was discarded aged 16 by Wednesday for being too small, played parks football and ended up playing for England and winning the Premier League. Plus  setting a new record of scoring in consecutive games. Plus setting up a chance for others like he with an academy called Vardy 9.    :54:

2 James Milner. Very down to earth. Top pro, rarely any histrionics. In his mid 30's and still at the to of his game.  :54:

3 Ben Foster a quality keeper in his late 30's who has never courted controversy and still maintains a top standard.  :54:

If Vincent Company had not left City he would have been no 3.

1)   I agree with Vardy

2)   Aguero, just a phenomenal player

3)   Van Dijk, did he make any mistakes last season?

Aguero was close to third, has a good attitude to the game. Van Dyke I want see more of, no doubt he looks a class above. (why didn't we spot him at Celtic?)

The shame is that I wouldn't dare even consider a Fulham player from last season, hard to think of a time when we had no real characters in our regular team, in fact not sure we even had a regular team.
