According to Sky Sports News Leeds have agreed a fee with an unnamed English club for the sale of Pontus Jansson.
Given the rumours earlier this week, this would be a huge signing if we are the unnamed club.
Supposedly Brentford ahead of us. Seriously hope we'd be able to persuade him ahead of that lot!

Not a chance!
That would be far to sensible a decision to sign and established CB.
Apparently Leeds want him gone as he has a very bad attitude. But if Brentford are signing perhaps that means they are selling Konsi
Decent player but also a head case, would prefer Konsa as he's got higher potential
Brentford got him.
What on earth can Brentford offer that we can´t, unless they offered £10 more. Story of our dealings.

Maybe we were not overly interested and he was our 3rd choice? Maybe Brentford are signing him (rumoured to be around 6 million) to replace someone they are selling, maybe to us. Maybe those rumours about Konsa are true
If Brentford can outbid and be more attractive than us to a player then we have something to worry about.

Konsa will stay at Brentford.
😬
Jansson would be great.

Then again perhaps us and other clubs do not fancy him. Apparently a disruptive influence on other players and not a team player. That's why Leeds are happy for him to go. 086.gif

How do you know we even bid for him? Why do people always look for a negative when it's most likely a non story

Imagine this scene. We don't actually want him. The end.

going to say if he had a choice between us and Brentford and choose Brentford they are paying him a fortune to go there over us or someone did a great sales pitch about their new stadium and a dream
No way would Jansson or any other player choose Brentford over us (and I am not a Brentford hater at all). We offer far more opportunity.
So calm down guys, either i. we didn't want him or ii. we want Konsa iii. we want someone else.
Does it actually matter? In all honesty?
A player signed for a club. We may or may not have gone in for him, but he didn't sign or us.
Wan Bissaka signed for Man Utd, we may or may not have gone in for him. But he didn't sign for us. So it really doesn't matter.
If he signs he signs if he doesnt who gives a stuff, more than happy to critersise signings and moan based on facts. But we have no facts on this signing so why the negative waves.
Lets see what happens. COYW
Has consistently been one of the best CB's in the Championship for the last three years. Strange if he went to Brentford for such a low fee, and it seems nobody else is bidding.
Maybe there is some other transfer involved as well?
I would have been astounded if Leeds had sold a quality player to, according to the bookies, their strongest rivals for the title this year. I suspect Brentford had a huge advantage over us in this case: being a crap little club that Leeds don't feel threatened by
Don't know why some of you have to belittle other clubs all the time, maybe he chose Brentford on liking what he saw there.(if he has gone to them)
There a well run club who produce players and hold their own in the Championship every season.
No football clubs are crap little clubs, they all have a heart and a history, and fans who follow them.
Spare a thought for Bury this morning, they are in danger because of the situation they are in of not being able maybe to fulfill their opening fixture on August third...Coyw.

Quality is in the eye of the beholder - just like beauty
Leeds have such high regard for him that he's been training in Malmo (Sweden) and wasn't required for their tour to Australia
So Leeds must surely see him as damaged goods and of limited value
Perhaps they would have loved us to accept their poisoned chalice
Maybe it will turn out for the good that we didn't
Rather see other clubs belittled than our own fans doing that or moaning about our own club
If, and it's a big if, Bielsa's disregard stems from PJ not wishing to concede against Villa, then as far as I am concerned, it's another plus point for the player.
Look, one of the ten outfield players needs to be a dominant aerial defender who doesn't muck about. I'm doubtful we have one. He's a good fit. Maybe there are better ones out there, but he's capable.

There's no way we're signing him..... it's not the last hour of the last day of the transfer window
