Title: Here We Go Again...Trailing Early AT HOME!
Post by: WindyCity on November 02, 2019, 03:20:39 PM
Wow!  With 70% possession.  Seen this picture before?

Don't want to be rash as there's plenty of time left to recover this appalling start but Parker really has to go if we lose today. New levels of not good enough if we can't secure points at home to Hull ffs.

Who would you get in to replace Parker though ?

I appreciate its not popular but Hughton for me. Ideally though, we actually win today and Parker kick starts the season. This team is so much better than what we produce. 72% possession and we've had a whiff.

It's the slow tempo and build up that erks me. It is not working so why do Fulham persevere with it.
It is so predictable and easy to defend against, very frustrating and more importantly not working well enough.

Needs to be a manager whose tactics suit our existing players and "house style"

Stop being so miserable. Win some, lose the majority.

We are not Man City and have absentee owners. Not as if there is anyone driving the bus.

Well, first half in the books.....70% possession, 1 shot on target.  Productive?

Very frustrating, still waiting for this side to become good.  When is it gonna happen?

Slav would be my go to but that's not going to happen so I'd rather Hughton and a change than the stuff we're producing. It really is overrated when we're 'dominating' possession to have a tiny amount of shots/chances per sequence. This is really poor however we look at it and it needs to change.

Slow, slow, slower, sideways and backwards possession with no tempo, incision or shots on goal. Pathetc display and down to Parkers tactics largely.

Not really Parker's style of play. Directed from Tony Khan.

Hull have always been a bogey side.

We need to give Parker benefit of the doubt. It's not as if he sets the team up to lose

We are in the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun. We have half an hour to score three goals, but some players should have a really good look at themselves.

Responsibility sits with manager. He sets us up to play this static,  slow, non incisive... possession with little end product football

What would be the point in getting rid of another manager? To bring in another one, who may well do no better. What's gonna happen then? Get rid of them etc?

Three goals?  We can't get 3 shots on target.  This game playing out like most of the others this season.  Disappointing.

Hughton has two banks of five protecting his mobile number, with no striker, so he is therefore uncontactable.

Sorry is this a joke?
That reasoning would mean no manager, nor any person holding any office come to think of it, would ever be replaced
No need for any more elections, at least!

About to say the exact same. Lets just readjust our objectives to suit a dreadful Parker appointment and say we're happy with 6th-10th? That seems fair with the squad we have.

I just don't understand the vitriol.

This is his first job, a few disappointing losses is to be expected. Unless it is in politics or a terrible wrong doing I don't like to see anyone sacked.

Let's support Scott while he learns on the job.

Week after week picking Cav on the left (who is largely ineffective there),  is not doing too much to set us up to win.      ( IMHO).

Do you think people are happy that it hasn't worked out for Parker? He's just displayed, too many times already, that hes just not up to the task. The way we set up is utterly predictable and takes little to no real effort to break us down. The Parker experiment may look nice in the ol stats but it doesn't where it matters. He may well go on to be a good coach, just not in this league, or with this club. I'm firmly Parker out now.

Even when trailing, FFC don't ever seem interested in a "transition rush".  Seem to always settle back, get possession, start the slow move forward.  No urgency.

Not going to get into the debate about Parker's, other than to say changing manager every 6 months doesn't work for any team, just look at us when we went through Jol, Meulesteen, McGath, Symons, there were even some calling for Joka's head in the first 6 months after he started.

I will say today (didnt see the first goal) but the last 2 have been poor defending from all at the back

The biggest issue with Parker at the moment is the absolute lack of progression in this team. We just don't move forward and have no idea of what we want to do in any match.

He says he wants to have posession but holding the ball is pointless if a) the team has no positional awareness, which it doesn't, b) has no ideas upfront to use that posession, c) has no tactical options when plan A doesn't work.

It's just silly and that's not on the players or the board - that's 100% on the manager and he had enough time to progress. He needs to go, our time is running out.

Parker may be part of the problem but the real problem for me was TK failing to strengthen our defence. I'm not sure a new manager will solve anything.

I am not going to call for Parker's head already, he deserves a chance to improve performances but I will call for  him to make a serious change in tactics the are clearly not working.

Also we need to address immediately our inability to put in a decent cross and our complete attacking failure with corners.

Hard to really know what players are 'thinking', but watching this Hull game, sure looked like players were not focused and just going through the motions, no sense of urgency whatsoever.
