Title: His Masters Voice
Post by: South Coast White on December 26, 2019, 07:02:12 PM
STRAIGHT FROM OUR MANAGERS LIPS!!!!!!
"They had three shots on target and scored three goals. We put their goal under a lot of pressure, but their keeper pulled off some fantastic saves."

That's because our defence is sh#%

We can all see our forwards can score, we can even play well in midfield, but why oh why MR PARKER can you not see that in defence whatever your telling them is just so wrong.

I said on another thread, it is not Parker. The whole back 4 are average at best in THIS division. The problem is above him.

Let 2 good full backs go, buy an expensive (injured) centre half, not replace an ageing centre half (who was terrific 2 years ago) and what do you get.....Fulham's current back 4.

Our defence is not as bad as people make out. You defend as a team not just a back 4, being an organised team is the best way to defend, anyone who knows anything about football cannot question that, so all the talk about our back 4 not up2 the job is tosh

It's a Parker's problem.
This back four can't play short ball posssesion football, and he shouldn't be asking them to do it.
It's his tactics that are in question....you use the tools available to you ...don't ask a sprinter to run the marathon.

Scott Parker was as frustrated about the goals as the rest of us today. Just listen to his press conference.

There's no way the manager should take the blame for the shambles that led to the first and third goals.

They were individual errors from players who should have done better. Tactics didn't cost us those goals just sheer stupidity when there were better options.

Well put, the coach should play to his teams strengths

Parker is an awful manager. When you're impressed with what we served up at Birmingham then the bar is very low. It seems he never thinks we play poorly and that we're just unlucky. What a clown.

The tactics are not the problem. The players we are having to play at CB gifted 2 goals as they are not good enough. Ream is past his best & Mawson is a great disappointment. What happens when Hector is available next week we will have to see. Our tactics today resulted in 65% possession, 19 shots with 12 on target. Their GK made at least 3 blinding saves while Rodak did not have 1. None of the goals were his fault.
We made 36 crosses with only a 19% accuracy. Once again this is down to the players poor delivery not tactics or coaching. For goodness sake these are highly paid professionals playing at nearly the highest level. They should be able to cross a ball by now.

The manager chooses the tactics to suit his players . How much more evidence does he need that getting out centre halves on the ball in our own 6 yard box Is not a good idea . It's ridiculous

The hallmark of a good manager is taking players who were poor in other teams and making them look better, like Jokanovic did with players like Fredericks, Malone and Ream.

The hallmark of a crap manager is making them look much worse, like Parker has done with Bryan, Mawson and Christie and will probably do with Hector.

You cannot say it is more plausible that all the players in this team have suddenly, purely by coincidence, become much poorer, than the alternative explanation that Parker is just a poor coach.

Exactly. And look what he did with Cavaleiro and Knockaert!

This. Until a Parker enthusiast can tell me why so many players can't perform at this level who have previously been player of the year/team of the year/key players in promoted teams, I don't think I can be bothered chatting how badly he is doing without hearing 'guys! We beat Leeds last week!!!!'
