No not the transfer market, away from football. I had watched Wheeler Dealers here and there down the years and I see that Mike Brewer is now working with a new bloke. Anyone know what happened to Edd China?

I don't think Edd China has been in it for around 3 years as they fell out about the content of the show, Mike wanted more content about the wheeling dealing part of the show and Edd wanted to concentrate more on the mechanics but lost out.
Thanks. I do like to keep up to date! I prefer Edd's mechanical input to that Mike's bouncing about.

Car SOS is excellent. I like Chasing Classic Cars from America also.
He "left", he explains everything in his book, which is a pretty good book as he explains a lot more stuff
I thought Ed now did the uk one and they had a guy called Ant doing the US one. Used to be ED on both but he fell out with the US producers or something, thats what I read
Used to enjoy mainly for the cars and Ed. When they did a frogeye and put "in period alli mags " on I stopped as they were the wrong wheels. Also never liked the "we made a profit" No they did not they never included the hundreds of hours of skilled work. Oh I am a classic car nerd sorry

I am with you there Pete in nerd status. And Edd never hit his hand with a hammer, never swore and a nut rarely sheared off! I have restored a few cars and despite the annoyances, loved every minute. One chap said to me once 'well you wont get your money back' my reply 'will you get your money back then from all the beer and cigarettes you buy? If that's your enjoyment okay but I will stick with mine thank you very much.' :022:

It was also reported (by Brewer) that China was refusing to do stuff when it was part of his contract,
Alegedly saying he was one of the stars of the show and didn't have to do things if he didn't want to.
Brewer always considered it was his dealings in buying suitable cars that was more important than actually fixing them up, when the new production company came in, they appeared to have the same view as Brewer, that apparently is why China resigned.
Just watched on youtube a Zoom interview with Mike. He said that Edd did get a bit above himself (at 6ft 7in that may be hard) and didn't want to work so often.

I like the response about money back Bog. People spend money on things that give them pleasure. If you are lucky and restore the right car a lot of money can be made. I won't make any money on my old "B" but I love the sound and smell. Lady Cambridge says that if the weathers been bad I will go to the garage sit in it and smell it and then as a final treat listen to it Heaven . Only to be beaten by the boys accumulating over 41 points next season.

I can relate to that Pete, the smell of old leather in fine smell indeed. What is your 'B'?
42 year old restored and converted by ex RR repair shop to Chrome bumper, best I could afford just over four years ago. Would love an MGTF or a 49 (Excellent year) Traction Avant but out of the reach of my pocket. Missed the shows this year one of the best was Clacton Car Club. Still this is I suppose off topic. I like the B's with chrome bumpers. TF was a nice car. The only car I made money out of was a '49 Triumph Roadster that I bought in '72' and sold in 2013. I have an Austin Eton that I came by in very fortunate circumstances. Cars with head lamps on wings are the ones for me. I had a workshop that went when we we moved 4 years ago. I really miss that, no IT for me, nuts and bolts every time!
Restoration? You can't beat it!
