Title: 1959 Promotion Video
Post by: Stoneleigh Loyalist on November 21, 2020, 04:47:37 PM
It has taken the lockdown for me to find the but if you search 'Leonard Fenton Video Footage' you will find an old 38 second silent loop video of my father the then Mayor of .Fulham welcoming Tommy Trinder and the players on to the small stage outside Fulham Town Hall following our promotion1958/59. You will notice that Johnny Haynes having injured his right hand shakes with his left hand.
The very last shot in the loop is me at the foot of the stairs age 18!

Sorry Loyalist couldn't find it.
Do you need to search Google or YouTube?

Found loads about Leonard Fenton the actor (unless he was your Dad?)

Great footage.  Spotted Jimmy Hill, George Cohen and Jim Langley.  One of the two boys could have been me but sadly wasn't.  My memories of Fulham Town Hall consists of supporting my sister watching endless performances of Sylvia Dale School of Dancing...........

Fulham Supporters Club had some great dances at the Town Hall which were well supported by the players. My father had to put up with plenty of leg pulling because he was a life long West Ham supporter. It was all good natured. I would point out that for over thirty years he became a Fulham regular with me either on the terraces or as a season ticket holder in the Riverside.

That was lovely, always great to find a clip never seen before. Spotted Robin Lawler and dear old Tosh. The boys looked very smart.
You must be very proud of your Grandad Stonleigh.

A great clip, oh those were the days
You can see how much Tommy Trinder was enjoying it. He was a real Fulham man at heart.
