Can we make a new poll please.... so unlucky not to get that goal.
First half I thought he was abysmal. He played much better second half though and was unlucky to not score. I still dont know where his best position is, I dont feel like he fits into the system we play at all
You still would start him even though that's another game he didn't score or assist in.
We lacked creativity all game against bottom of the league and he's main job is to be the creator of the team.
Great goal from lookman and great result
RLC does have some positive attributes. He's decent on the ball and often picks a good pass but where do you play him? He's too soft to play a deep roll and has no, none, nada, nil ability to shoot. That, and he seldom wins a header. Is TC the answer?
I honestly think he's frightened of getting hurt, or maybe not as interested as he should , he's obviously has the talent but it rarely rises to the top.
He was dreadful first half, improved in the second. But he's not the creative midfielder we need and neither does he chip in with goals so what is the point?
If you look at how many times the opposition chop him down they know how good he is
Im still not sure .....what's he really good at ?
RLC is frustrating. But they clearly worried about him today, gave space for some of our other attackers.
Still feel he's so close to clicking, along with his final 3rd play. Has to improve!
Thought he had a decent game

I'm 73, short and fat and I could knock him over.
RLC is as effective in attack as any of our front three, not quite good enough but the best we have, you just have to leave him there. Next week he could be the match winner.
He can't be as effective as Maja, Lookman or BDR, they've all scored and set up more goals than him
Even Cavielero has been more effective in attack than him
We all see the game differently, It's subjective, I thought RLC played well
I think he comes out of tonight's game with credit. I like that his attitude is to get the ball forwards. My perception was that whereas there were times Anguissa and Reed passed backwards when there was neither need nor benefit, RLC made fewer such passes, trying instead to be more positive.

I saw it the same way Arthur.
Game on game he keeps improving but it still all tiddlywinks (apart from getting the disc in the pot). When is somthing masterful or incisive or even match-winning going to happen?
I haven't been on here since last game. I came on assuming, well, at least there won't be threads just looking to slag him off tonight.
I honestly do not understand why a Fulham fan, after watching our team battle for 3 points and come away with an unbelievably hard fought win, would come on here to focus on putting down a player that gave his all for the cause in a white shirt.
What I can't get my head round is scapegoats. So, whatever happens, however many passes another player misses, or tackles, or even if we win, certain players are deemed to be worthy of a thread that focuses on how bad they are.

We won. He played the whole match.

I'm thinking he must have a curse on him. There have been several times that he should have scored but various reasons did not. Agree, he was very unlucky tonight. With that said, I just don't see why he gets the nod to start every week.
Guess the better question is, who starts as the number 10 role if RLC doesn't? Tom is still out injured so just not sure who slots in there.
The lack of goals & assists is frustrating (and he appears visibly frustrated with himself) but I think what he brings to the team is more subtle in that when the team are under pressure he is able to manoeuvre away from a challenge and turn defense in to attack.

The keeper gets a slight touch on it which directs it to the defender. Very unlucky.
I thought he had a curate's egg of a game tonight. Some of the things he was trying were inventive and threatened to offer something different, but only delivered occasionally. He was much better than he was on Wednesday, but the caveat is that we were playing against a makeshift Sheffield United defence. It was bit like us looking good in attack against a dreadful WBA defence in the first half a few weeks ago. RLC continues to frustrate - I can see a potentially top class performer hidden in there, but he is not delivering to those standards. I strongly disagree with the paeans of praise he is getting on Match of the Day at the moment- "one of their main performers", "crucial to the way they play , "vital in the run-in" etc. etc. I think Danny Murphy is seeing the player he wants to see, not the one currently performing. I still hope he can bring something extra in the remaining games.
I don't understand your criticism.
He played well tonight and was very unlucky not to score. Linked up well. got stronger, hope that continues as he will be key to staying up.

Totally agree. The other players have a lot of confidence in putting the ball on him because he can hold it up and drive it forward with close marking more often than not. Might be the only player on the team who can do this although Maja is showing that potential. If the club had better dead ball abilities I think we would all be hailing his ability to draw fouls and break pressure like he does.
Well I thought RLC played well all game.
i really dislike rubens. he is a first rate waste of space. he is good at not scoring and losing possesion. takes to long to do the wrong things.
Without his reputation he would be nowhere near our first team.
you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool me about him. not good enough

I was fooled tonight into thinking he had a good game. Yes it was Sheffield United.

Danny Murphy. 170 Games for Liverpool. 169 Game for the mighty whites. Played for England. Captained the mighty whites. Scored 18 goals for the mighty whites.
He says RLC was the best player on the pitch.
ALG01 - 1701 posts on a forum says Fulham player is a, in his words "waste of space".
I know who I'd listen to
We really do need a scapegoat even when we win......

We don't have a 10 that can effectively play better than RLC, so that's where he plays. However, he's an 8 through and thorough, but we have a plethora of 8's. Surprised at how much guff he gets, he makes a real difference for our team. Cairney is no better at this level than he is.
I think in many ways that RLC is probably slowly understanding that a club like ours is his #1 best option. He will never been good enough to play for The Walham Green Blueskis. But he is just good enough to play regular minutes for the likes of us and clubs like us. That said, you can clearly see why Frankie was having none of him at Walham Green Towers.
so close to clicking i think . just needs something to break for him

Just to be clear. I am was making fun of the previous poll. RLC is a terrific player. Which is why our manager keeps picking him. Funny how people see things so differently.
In my opinion he is one of our better players but I understand the criticism. He never quite gets it right. Always close but no cigar.
I've gotten to where I'll admit I'm no longer objective. I'm looking for him to turn the ball over or miss a decent chance and he usually confirms my bias. I so want him to come good because if he could find his previous form it could be the difference for staying up. But the occasional flashes of skill aren't enough for me in the balance and I'd prefer BDR playing central off of Josh and Cav out on the wing (wait, did I just type that?)
COYW, we can do this!!!
I was less frustrated with RLC today, why? I'm not sure, either a better performance or I was more chill I dont know, he seems to completely miss when trying to head the ball a lot....
Like him, love him, neutral, or hate him - the man is a big powerful unit. When he gets tangled up with the opposition, he's winning the physicality piece, and he does a good job of breaking up the opposition play (and frustratingly our own as well).
He's got the foundation of a really good player, and he's not been nurtured well at Chelsea (shocker) like most players they buy and recycle. He's so visibly angry with things not working for him, and although I often find myself bemoaning his mistakes, he gives it his effort and he works for the team - so I still tip my hat to him. He's wearing our crest and representing our beloved Fulham. Come on RLC - 14-15 games left, score the winners we need in some cheeky 1-0 wins and keep us alive!
RLC doesn't have enough end product.
He shows good ability with the ball at his feet, and displays moments of quality close control and can turn or spin out of a challenge with ease.
His problem is when he gets in to the final third he lacks the killer touch. All huff and no puff.
One thing he does excellently is draw free kicks. I reckon if you looked at the numbers he would comfortably draw the most free kicks in the side.
I put him on par with Anguissa - both real class but rarely play to their full potential
(Whereas Anderson another really class player gives 100%)
Thought RLC played well last night and we need to back him
Really pleased for Lookman - interesting interview in the Guardian yesterday

Did Reed make a forward pass tonight? I missed it if he did. Tonight I think he was the midfield problem but assumed he was told to play like this by Scott.
Certainly from what I have seen of the game, MOTD highlights, he looked very good, was unlucky not to get a goal and played some very nice passes. He is gradually getting better, even challenging for the ball. Long time coming but hope it continues.
Improving all the time needs a few goals and could be the difference in us staying up.Scott's obviously a fan and should know what he needs midfield wise.
