Title: U18's Playoff Final
Post by: shepperton white on May 18, 2021, 09:11:15 AM
I note the final is being played at City's home training ground. How come? Surely it should be at a neutral ground.  It gives City a bit of an unfair advantage - or is it a two legged game?

I have asked this on another post, hope someone can answer.

The competition rules state: "for the overall title, the North Group and South Group winners will play in a one-off national final at a main stadium". Surely, a 'main stadium' is a professional football league stadium - not an academy stadium? Also, being hosted by a team in the final. Man City website is already saying that their website will carry full broadcast coverage of the game. Where has fairness and equality gone in football in this country and Europe?

The last time our u18s reached the final of this competition (or its equivalent the Barclays Under-18 Premier League) the match, versus Reading, was at Craven Cottage.

[This was the Roberts, Hyndman, Tankovic, Woodrow, Dembele, Rodak cohort. We won 3-0 with a Dembele hat-trick.]

I remember that and also remember thinking that it was wrong
Seems ridiculous that a national title should be decided at a home venue for one of the teams

One of the problems is that any of our team play well and look good I bet they will have City all over them like a Rash for signatures or want to buy them for the pittance they always do.
