Ridge Rider made a good point about us signing quite a few players on loan in previous January windows - so thought it would be an interesting thread.
Who has been the best loan signing to have played for us, who would you have liked to have been made permanent but slipped away and who would be a dream signing, who have we signed on loan that you were pleased to see the back of?
Please reply to this thread otherwise it will become "interest free" - I'll get my coat.
I don't have a long history with Fulham, so forgive me.
I thought Bridge and Staltieri were good loan signings. We needed them badly at the time and they did well for us.
The one loanee I would like us to have pursued was Okaka. He had pace, skill, size, and heart.
I'd like to say that I was glad to see the back of Litmanen, but I'm not sure that we ever saw the front of him.

We bought Litmanen didn't we?
Jari Littemen was a great steal at just £30k a week :hook:
Easy - Julian Gray....

We didn't buy him, but he was on a weekly wage + a pay-as-you-play deal.
The pay-as-you-play deal was a great idea. Unfortunately the weekly wage bit was not.
Shefti Kuki, absolute quality .
Jan Laštůvka?
Without any doubt at all the worst-ever player to end up at Fulham on loan was Trevor Lee. This isn't an opinion, it's fact as those who saw his fifty-plus minutes on the pitch against Leeds in the mid-eighties will attest. He had been a useful striker at Millwall at his peak, but was so past it that it remains, to this day, just about the most embarrassing appearance ever by a player in a Fulham shirt. He made Shefti Kuqi look like Lionel Messi.

Quite agree about Stalteri who was a much better player than Pantsil IMHO. Also concur with regard to Okaka - how we could have done with him this season!!!
BEST was a striker called Andy Thomas Season 1982-83. We had him on loan from Oxford. He played 4 times for us, scoring twice.... The Thamesbank used to yell his name 'Annndy Thomas....Annndy Thomas......'
I think we had an option to buy.. but we we're SKINT...
Great memories from the old days..
The best has to be ............

Away to Swansea in the cup..
Bridge was good, even though he was from the darkside I still would have preferred him over Konch or Salcido
George Best wasn't a bad deal in modern terms when we had an 'arrangement' with him reputedly worth £500 per game.....that being about 8-10 times the average working wage in 70's Britain....roughly five grand at today's values.
I was just thinking the other day. Fulham have not done too well on the loan signings. Mr. Hatterdon reminded me of the 2 that have been ok. Other clubs seem to get half decent youngsters from manyoo, Arsenal and chelsea....why can't we, particularly the latter 2 because I assume the players already live in London.
MH, you know the red nose one well, work some magic.
Wayne Bridge is interesting. You might argue that if everyone had moved heaven and earth to keep him here life would be very different. It's been (more or less) a problem position for us and his career has, frankly, been a farce.
Vincenzo Montella was as good a player as we'll see I think, but didn't seem to fancy it after a while.
