Title: Chester City now up for the chop.. UPDATE, wound up today
Post by: Admin on February 11, 2010, 05:18:14 PM
14 day winding up order. Thousands owed to the Inland Revenue, thousands owed to the Police, players haven't been paid for several months, players boycotting games by not getting on the coach, F.A Conference board of directs want answers in 7 days or fine & or points deduction will happen. 99.79% of fans want to start a new Pheonix club in place of Chester City Football Club.

What the HELL is going on  ???

It is awful and despite what is being said about financial  recovery, this is happening outside of football every moment. If you have savings there is no where to put them. If you have a debt banks are piling on the interest and if you owe the IR then kiss your posterior goodbye.

Still Football should not be a special case and to be honest we all know this has been coming. Didn't Chester beat us 5-0 nil when they shared Macclesfield Towns ground. Or was that a dream? Anyway they are not the first and will not be the last.

If Pompey were dissolved and the league finished with two teams being relegated - would four teams come up from the Championship?

It's exactly the same as what happened with the credit crunch. People knew that over-extending on debts would bite them on the arse in the long term, but they still wanted to reap the rewards. Football is all about spend spend spend, but now's the time to pay pay pay.

A sad but inevitable time. And it's only a matter of time before one of the really big clubs find themselves in the same situation.

Er no because that would then make 21 teams in the Premiership!  :-*

The first rule of business be it a Company or Self employed is:

"ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU PAY THE INLAND REVENUE YOUR INCOME TAX AND VAT"

Who is actually running Portsmouth, Cardiff, Southend and Chester, the fcuking MUPPETS!

People just don't have the money to pay IR because they hope that things would get better. Gordy Brown told them they would and is telling them now that the worst is behind them. They need to believe him but we all know its rubbish.  Run for the hills and live off the land. It is the only way.

...Chester City 1885 - 2010, wound up today, a few weeks of john terry's wages would have probably saved them. Make ya think... :56:

They owed £26,125 in unpaid taxes I think. The supporters are trying to start the club in a lower league. Very sad. The likes of Terry earn that sort of dosh in a day.

A sad day for football and for the Chester City supporters. I can't imagine what they must be going through.

Can anyone here seriously imagine life without Fulham?

No.

That is like imagining a life without Fullers ESB and women.
