Started off the season one of our best players. But since the last international break he's been ineffective - or am I being unfair.
Plays like he's scared getting injured
Very weak and ineffectual, so disappointed in him Wednesday and today.
Think the defenders have worked him out, need a change of plan.
He was anonymous today. Forgot he was even playing.
He's got worse since Tete has been injured and I'm sure that's not a coincidence

Yep. Off the boil? -- Yes
He needs a spell as our No. 10 until Carvalho returns. Gives him more space than being tight to the sideline.
I pointed out before and was put down on this forum for saying that the pundits did not rate him playing for Wales in the World Cup..
Despite the fight for his signature he is a bit-part performer.
I cannot recalls any contribution by him.

Game is about partnerships, especially out wide in this system. Tete getting injured and Wilson's form changing are surely not a coincidence.
Looking like a show pony with no end-product at the moment

I agree with this, also he was building a good understanding with Carvalho
Yeah it's starting to become apparent that Carvalho really is a huge miss. Let's hope that toe heals sooner rather than later
He's missing Tete, if Tete plays he goes on the overlap which draws a defender with him. Odoi doesn't do that leaving Wilson 2 on 1
I posted that I could see a young Allan Clarke in him in his early appearances....
...he's a long way short of Sniffer just lately...
Wilson seemed to play better in tandem with Fabio. Since then he seems to be playing not off the boil, more like with a boil on his nether regions.

For me he is not in the same class as Alan Clarke.

I don't disagree with this but it's only half the story . Just as Odoi isn't Tete going forward - Wilson doesn't track back enough leaving Odoi totally exposed at the back . I actually respect and like both players but as a partnership down our right they leave a good deal to be desired both from an attacking and defensive perspective.
In my humble - he's playing out of position....or you also need to play Mr BDR as right back

Agree with this. Wilson is quality but when double marked playing on the right he becomes ineffective. He should be able to play in behind Mitro and create chances from there.

Now there was a player...the slim Sniffer is still in my best ever line up.

Jay Stansfield really reminds me of sniffer, seems to have the same instincts.
Totally agree with Grandad, Deepening White, Wolverine and WSW:
Could be better used as a number 10, or needs to play in tandem with Tete.

According to transfermarkt, our seven #10s includes Cairney, Carvalho, Francois, Quina, Reid, Onamah, and Wilson. The first three are all injured (i.e. Cairney, Carvalho, Francois), while the second three (i.e. Quina, Reid, Onamah) haven't played well in their each of their most recent games. Unless someone returns from injury (e.g. Carvalho) or someone out of form returns to form in training (e.g. Quina or Onamah), then Wilson is the only remaining choice and he is also potentially a very good #10.
