My thoughts about today.. firstly I didn't watch the game, but I thought I would share some thoughts.
Firstly, Rodak has conceded 1 goal in 4 games and 3 back to back clean sheets. He hasn't had much to do in those games, but he's a vocal goalkeeper and that can inspire confidence throughout the defence. I think he has made a difference in the games I've watched.
Secondly, many people wrote off Mitrovic before the season started- he's been nothing short of class. If we play to his strengths he can of course score goals in the PL.
Third, glad to see Fabio back on the pitch, if the club thought he wasn't going to sign a contract he wouldn't have came on.
Fourth, shame to see Tosin get a red card. Good news is we have Hector who was class the last time we were in this league and also Mawson.
fifth, wouldn't have minded to see subs come on a little earlier, but again, I didn't watch the match so hard for me to comment.
Sixth, our goal difference is double West Brom's, and better than Bournemouth's. Goal difference could be a very important factor this season.
Seventh, we're going to win the league aren't we.
Massive result slightly clouded by Tosin
Great result. Didn't think though that FFC played an outstanding game by any means. Looked a bit dodgy at times in their own defensive end. Also, not quite clicking moving forward in final third. Had some nice chances to score additional goals but most of those chances off target. I will say this however, FFC looked good/dangerous in transition moving forward oft times, but again final third could be better. Actually, FFC looked dangerous during many parts of the game, just waiting to pounce.
First two goals gifted. The announcers covering the hesgoal broadcast kept repeating the PK was very soft and should not have been given at all, claiming it was a good tackle. After seeing the play several times, I think the ref got it right, but it might have been on the soft side. That said, full credit to Mitrovic for finishing on both those 'gifts'. We've seen in past those opportunities missed.
Overall a 'good' game from FFC, not great, and still room for improvement. Nice to see a three point result when not at top of their game. Cheers to the lads!

Yes my thoughts too, and we now have to sort out a centre back pairing for the next three games. We were lucky with the penalty, the second goal was an absolute gift and the third well taken but I thought the scoreline slightly flattered us.

Total agreement.
The whole business of being sniffy about 'soft goals' and 'tap ins' is a big red herring.
It's what top strikers do. Sure, they will get the occasional 'worldie' but their business is a) being there and b) not missing.
Stick it in the net: intellectualise later.
Make no mistake West Brom are a tough physical side , the type of team we do not like to play, we did well to match them today and collect three important points. In the second half before there red card they were having the better of the game and looked capable of forcing the draw but we stuck in there and eventually came away as worthy winners.
With Carvalho and Cairney ready to return we are in a position of strength, and must be favourites to collect three more points at Blackburn.
The Tosin red card is a blow but cover is available with Odoi , Hector or Mawson stepping into the position, all three well proven at championship level.

Tend to agree with this and have just got back from the game.
It didn't feel like we were spectacular and West brom did have their own chances so its an odd feeling to think we were way ahead of them, because in many ways two of our goals were gifted to us and if you take them out then a 1-0 scoreline isn't anything that couldn't turn into a draw or even a loss on another day.
That said, bar maybe 2 or 3 chances we largely kept west brom at bay and relatively quiet. Tosin and ream had very solid games today at CB- tosins height will be missed if his card isn't rescinded (watching the sky match atm so don't know if that's possible)..
That said, take nothing away from the guys, west brom were one of the top teams and top goalscorers in the league to date and we kept a clean sheet.
Crazy that not many think we have played that well in our last two games, yet we have scored 7 and not conceded. Long may that continue!
Embrace any luck with open arms.
You never know when it will run out.
Having watched the game live & viewed many replays from different angles & still pictures I am convinced that it was a pen.
My reasoning. First, their CB was grappling Mitro´s right shoulder. Then his right leg went between Mitro´s making contact with Mitro´s right calf, a tackle from behind. The CB´s momentum then caused his right hip to shove Mitro on his right buttock causing Mitro to fall forward.
However , if this was not enough Odoi was hacked down which should have been a pen in its own right.
I was convinced it was a pen at first viewing & I am now more convinced the ref was right. He was in a perfect position.
I rest my case M´Lud.
Penalty was 50 50 but when you watched it from the Hammersmith End camera you can understand the ref giving it as it looked like the defender kicked Mitro's ankle whereas he missed the ankle and kicked the ball. Saying that Mitro is caught on the back of the knee before the defender touches the ball but the ref would not have seen that from his angle.
Red cards were both correct although Snodgrass should have had one as well.

+1
We break lightening quick, there are always supporting runners, reminds of Leeds in some ways.

From my position in the Hammersmith End a clear penalty! Will check the highlights. No complaints about the sending offs. Obviously disappointed with ours.
Penalty and red card decisions all correct.
West Brom a very rough side and fully deserved the punishments , their yellow card card count was pretty high too.
I think they arrived with a reputation and the ref. was being careful to keep a grip on them.
Also Tosin had come close to being carded once or twice before picking up the red.
So many positives for us today but one negative that is easily passed over in such a good win is our shooting.
Wilson, Kebano, BDR , Seri and Reed all guilty of shots that were well wide of the target.
Don't know how Snodgrass avoided a red card for that forearm smash on young Robinson????

No clue. Snodgrass is trash.
Smashing video interview with Marco on The Offal.
Sounded so pleased and confident it was a pleasure to watch. Brand new stand in the background and players out on our hallowed turf playing football with their children.
Tonight- all's right with the world. Enjoy it while we can.

Well if Khan Junior is looking to recruit, look no further then 'Snodgrass', that was 'violent conduct'.
Agreed We haven't played great the last couple of games but winning so that's a good thing
At no point did I feel we were under pressure, there was little intensity in the game, which very much suits us. they were waiting fro us to take the game to them from the outset and they ended up paying the price by conceding the penalty and then the shocking back pass by Snodgrass, all a result of their lack of intensity and us just being on our game. We will not be spectacular in every game, because every game does not need that, but we will be on our toes and we will take advantage of most of the opportunities presented to us.
Gifts? Maybe, but the penalty was the result of our pressure and attacking intent, and the pass back came about because of some great closing down. This team is working hard and deserves the results it brings.

Absolutely agree, I was incredulous it was only a yellow.
Results are going well and that is a result of hard work and good coaching. My only issue is we need to work on our free kicks in front of goal. The last few seem to have gone straight into the wall and we have enough dead ball specialists who should be doing better.
For the people saying we're getting lucky, I'd refer you to our lack of luck before the last international break where we had awful refereeing decisions and managing to concede from our only shot against on target alongside hitting the bar 6 times in two games
