Personally I would love to see him back. Don't get me wrong I'm a Rodak fan, but if we're to stay up in the PL someone of his quality would be a big advantage.
Areola would cost at least £10 mill Rodak is an academy player who may well have two promotions on his cv after this season and is now an international... if we don't make him our number 1 season close the academy now!

Given the fact he's still on PSG books and they've got keylor navas a now donnarumma it'd seem pretty likely Areola either stays at West ham or moves somewhere else. I think Areola and his family want to be in London so that limits the teams dramatically if he doesn't stay at West ham, though he's getting a lot of plaudits when he does play in their European and Cup games.
Absolutely fantastic keeper, or at least he was for us.
Wouldn't 'take' him back because I don't really get what that means, but if he wanted to sign for us again and Fulham were willing to take on the cost then that wolud be brilliant.
If he wanted to, without question. Would he? I'm not so sure.
I dont get why he isn't first choice at West ham though.
I don't get why people don't rate Rodak
No neither do I. I would keep Rodak and Gazz for next year as they are both decent keepers

It's not a case of not rating Rodak. He's a decent keeper but Areola is far superior, on a par with the likes of Schwarzer and Van Der Sar.
Areola is the best keeper we've ever had with the possible exception of VDS. He was easily our player of the season last year and is probably one of the best in the world. I would take him back in a heartbeat.
I believe the only reason he's at West Ham is because his family is settled in London so I actually rate our chances of bringing him back, so long as they persist with playing Fabianski over him.

Fabianski is nearing the end of a great career. Areola is being prepared to take over as their number 1 but understandably they're not rushing the change. I fully expect to see him join them on a permanent basis as their number one keeper for next season onwards.

Is Rodak a better GK than Areola? Areola is certainly better than our back up GK'ers so strengthening the squad is a no brainer. If Rodak is good enough, he'll compete with the improved squad. If he isn't, then the signing is justified. As I said elsewhere, we aren't a YTS for potential players to improve and move on to better pastures.
The Premiership is a 'different kettle of fish', so 100% I'd take Areola back. The Premiership arguably has the best strikers in the world, I don't want to find out that Rodak is out of his depth. Teams that stay up in the Premiership after promotion all have a flyer. I don't even want Rodak trying to figure the Premiership out.
In a heartbeat.
I'm reeling at the fact 7 people have said no
You should always want to improve the first 11, and the fact is Areola is a much better keeper than Rodak. Thats not a knock on Rodak, Areola is just a top 5 keeper in the world imo.
An absolute no brainer
I'm sure Areola would jump at the chance to play for Fulham in the PL....Him and his family are nicely settled in West London
One of very few players I'd like back at the club.
Pluto, I'm very biased but Tony Macedo was our best ever keeper Sir.
Yes pleas , we couldn't do a lot better than starting a premier league season with Areola and Rodak as our keepers.
My best ever Fulham goalkeepers are:-
1. Macedo
2. Van de Sar
3. Swarzer
4. Aerola
Of course the favourite has to be Jim Stanard

His contract expires at the end of the season so if he were to leave PSG for us it would cost us nothing other than salary.
Big if though as we do not know if Marco Silva rates HM as someone who fits the style he wants.

Exactly Rodak is a a decent keeper but that shouldn't stop you improving on what you have and if the powers that be think Areola is an upgrade then that makes sense.
It is like having Harrison Reed and saying we do not want (for instance) Kante even though he is an upgrade
we really do not need a keeper, even one as good as this.
Our wage bill is already too high and there are greater priorities.
In any ebvent it is toime to give Rodak a proper long term chance he is easilly good enough.

I said similar things when we signed Van de Sar to replace Marc Taylor, I was proved to be so wrong.
If Areola is the 5th best keeper in the world at present, does that mean Fabianski is 4, really.

+1. Bigger priorities than GK.
Anyone that says no must not have watched him last season

I'm pretty sure that was their intention too but Fabianski has been really good for them this season, so hard to drop. The longer it stays that way, the longer the frustration will build and the more likely Areola is to look elsewhere (hopefully!)
I believe his contract expires at PSG in the summer too so he'll be able to choose where he plays next.
Areola is obviously better than Rodak and I would welcome him back.
But we have a few other positions where we will be in more need of an upgrade next year.
