Fulham Football Club and Dundee United are delighted to announce a unique collaboration agreement that will form part of both clubs' future long-term strategies.
A schedule of events – including coach exchanges and matches involving teams at Academy level – has already been agreed.
Huw Jennings, Head of Football Development, commented: "We are delighted to be signing this collaboration agreement with Dundee United. We have been seeking like-minded partners to support our football development ambitions, and the Tangerines represent a perfect fit for us.
"Our clubs share many historic features, such as our respective stadiums, but as important are the synergies that we share in our outlook for the future. Brexit represents a major gear shift for player acquisition in our industry, and by collaborating with a partner club in the UK we can both gain a competitive advantage.
"The team at Dundee United share very similar values to ours and have a great track record for player acquisition and talent development. We are really looking forward to cementing the partnership over the coming months and years."
Tony Asghar, Dundee United's Sporting Director, said: "It is great to finally announce our collaboration agreement with Fulham FC.
"Having met with a number of the Club's directors, senior management and the football department on a number of occasions, it was clear that both clubs share similar long-term objectives and understand that innovative working practices are key to creating competitive advantages within our respective leagues.
"Clearly the development and the recruitment of players are key pillars to this agreement, however, both clubs share similar visions and values to achieve success, and by working together this can only enhance our individual clubs' performances and success."
The partnership comes on the back of extensive discussions between the two clubs, who enjoy many synergies; similar inception dates, iconic stadiums, great history, American owners, and will include;
Sharing market intelligence on players
Player development knowledge sharing
Coach development exchange at Academy level
Games and player visits at Academy level
Commercial, Retail & Operational best practice
Thoughts anyone about this could work well i think
Thoughts anyone
Dundee is the birthplace of famous comics, and iconic characters like Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace, Roger the Dodger, Minnie the Minx, Beryl the peril, and the Bash Street Kids.
Will Fulham feature in a future comic strip, on the lines of Roy Race and Melchester Rovers?
This seems a good idea, anyway - they've obviously looked into it.
This is very odd. I am not agianst such collaborations as such but wonder whether it will really beifit anyone.
I do hope it is really fruitful and hope we are kept up to speed with the successes it brings for both teams in the future.
It has long since been my view there must be many gems of plaers that are overlooked so sharing intelligence seems a brilliant idewa. it's just that if you scout the lower leagues there are already players that have been 'overlooked' that could also potentially do a decent job and maybe we should share intelligence with some lower leaguer teams. Horsefield, finnan smalling etc are names that spring to mind. When was the last time we looked at the English lower leagues for such talent.
Fleetwood are going down the ManCity route and buying clubs around the world, different levels of course but I think either buying or working with other clubs is a good thing. Happy to see FFC try and develop relationships like this, good for all parties I think.

And the home town of the Average White Band. Maybe the pre-match music will improve too.
Seems a good innovation and certainly can't do any harm. Might help to give some youngsters some game time through loan opportunities? And the intel sharing has to be helpful. Good to see the club taking initiatives like this and the wording suggests there could be one or more other clubs added to the collaboration in due course.
Good forward thinking Fulham and good luck. Could be an inspirational venture.
If we wind up farming off our youngsters to get match experience then they run the risk of effectively becoming as feeder club for us. Alternatively, we go down to League One and become a feeder club for them. I suppose both teams see advantages to this arrangement, only time will tell who benefits most.
The hotbed of footballing talent that is Dundee United, not exactly an exhilarating collaboration

That's not the point - they've got a fairly revolutionary coaching setup for the academy, something which has got them into being part of the International Youth Methodological Board which is a fairly exclusive club for teams sharing academy knowledge and regular games between them. They're aiming to produce good players with more regularity and be the best academy in Scotland, and to be fair to them they've produced a few good Championship standard players in the last few years

Don't forget Dundee cake.
This is a good thing. They're in the Scottish Premier League, so we can send off our up and coming youngsters for some much needed first team action.
It is also good to have the Fulham name further than just London (it already is, but you get the idea). Majority of the big clubs have similar things.
I believe Kevin McDonald came up through their academy and then played for their first team. We could use a player like Kevin again.
I understand having club's combining talent's & skills - but isn't Dundee about 500 mile's away.... wouldn't/couldn't it have been simpler to buddy up to a few non league local side's.... isn't that where the gem's are

Only side to have played Barcelona 4 times in Europe and beat them 4 times.

Dundee cake sounds good but we may find players leaving unable to face Haggis on the lunch menu.
