WILLIAMS ARRIVES ON LOAN
The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Neco Williams on loan from Liverpool.
An attacking right-back, Williams will remain at Craven Cottage for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.
Tony Khan said: "Neco is a great young talent and I'm delighted to welcome him to Fulham for the rest of the season.
"It's important, especially with Denis now leaving the Club, to bring in a player of Neco's quality to ensure the strength of the squad."

Neco Williams in action for Liverpool at Craven Cottage
The 20-year-old arrives in SW6 having featured this season in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup for the Reds, and World Cup Qualifiers for Wales.
Born in Wrexham, Williams joined Liverpool at Under-9 level, progressing through their academy before making his senior breakthrough in 2019/20, a season that ended with him getting a Premier League winner's medal.
He already has 17 senior caps for Wales, in which he's scored twice, and featured in every one of their matches at last summer's European Championship.

Every time I have watched this guy play for Liverpool I have been underwhelmed. Hopefully he can do a job in the Championship though.

Cannot comment on his quality playing in the Premiership - although just to get into the Liverpool first XI he must be technically good. However where I had some misgivings were when I (admittedly vaguely) saw him struggling when playing for Wales.
Am I right in thinking only 13 PL appearances however over 2 and a half seasons, most of his appearences have been in cup competitions?
Two positives however come to mind:
1) He has played with Wilson at international level, so could be a good combination going forwards.
2) Is 6'00" so physically should be reasonably competent in the air. Many of our starting XI are comparitively short height wise if you take away our GK, Mitro, Robinson, Toyo and Ream so if other parts of his game work out well could be a good loan. With Tete's injury history he will get quite a few games between now and the end of the season, starting with Man City so nothing to worry about for a new defender there!!!!
he'll do a job with Odoi leaving but I'm kind of wondering is he a massive upgrade on Sessegnon?
Firstly, I hadn't realized that he is still only 20. He's been around for a while, playing for both 'pool and Wales. He's got 17 senior caps for Wales, including appearing in all of their games at the Euros last summer. I'll admit to not being overly impressed by him for 'pool (including when he was turned inside-out by Lookman last year), but he he's lightning quick, with pace to match Robinson, which is clearly Marco's preference.
The most intriguing aspect of the transfer is his relationship with Wilson. They must've known each other and played together on the right for the better part of a decade for club and country. Did Wilson's presence (and the fact that he's thriving) at Fulham have any influence on Williams wanting to come join us? It might make his bedding in much smoother, too, as he'll already have a familiar colleague to link up with (and overlap)...
With these recent links between the two teams, it feels like Fulham and this modern Liverpool team are starting to become something of a mutual appreciation society...
I feel quite flattered as I think they are a really great team (much better than boring Man City).
Liverpool want our players, and also want to loan out their players to us, as seems like they see a similar style etc.
This kid has 17 international caps, and has a Premier league and World Club Championship medal, and plays as a winger for Wales, and a Right Back for his Club (after quick Wiki check)... He seems ambitious too, but limited in chances by being behind the selection order to one of the best right backs in the world.
He could be a nice little bit of business...hope so.✌️
Yeah thought this deal might happen. Also thought Fabio would stay. That's two for two
Surprised they let him come here, after the Fab deal falling through.
Don't think we delayed the Cav deal from what I read. It was all agreed but they ran out of time.
We certainly would be used to that the other way round but seem to have learned some lessons.
From those clips Williams looks as if he could make a real impact on the Championship, lets hope he lives up to his video clips.
Good to see he is two footed and can play on both flanks.

Don't you mean we're their feeder club? :003:
He can use either foot and play left sided as well as his preferred right.
Not wild about this as he hasn't been great when I've seen him, but I guess he is decent cover for Tete if nothing else.
Just glad we have him as DO departs.

Only slight problem was that Dennis was such a versatile utility defender that he offered cover right across the back four. Clearly it would be unreasonable to expect that and Neco certainly doesn't provide any CB cover. Although intriguingly he could provide cover for our wingers. As to whether he's good enough and what his potential is, who knows.
Overlapping, underlapping with Wilson..... sound's good

Looks exciting!
Sad to see Dennis go ,but in all honesty it was a good move for him and he deserved it. I think Williams will be good reliable cover for Kenny and may even take the right back spot. He will be a good signing in my opinion
You cannot judge a book by looking at the cover ...
Firstly, he is apparently (according to the blurb) cover for Denis Odoi's move to FC Bruges. And so does Williams have utility? That's an unknown to me.
Secondly, he shares the right flank with his national compatriot (HW) with the likelihood they share good partnership vibes and so should be an immediate shoe in. Let's see the value of that because it does seem promising.
On paper it is a suck it and see loan signing which will either be a 'Targett' style success or a 'Christie' style fail. I am hoping all concerned can turn it into the former rather than the latter.
Personally I wouldn't have sold Denis on midseason unless he absolutely wanted to go but that's just me.
Good signing, both to challenge Tete but also to provide additional cover to the wingers (he has mostly been playing LW for Wales)
