Title: Anyone travelling by public transport on Saturday.......
Post by: The Cravenette on February 17, 2022, 05:48:27 PM
...there is no SWR into Putney- replacement buses.

Also no trams from East Croydon to Waddon- which messes up my alternative route.

Early kick off too, it's gonna be a nightmare.

Does my head in, every week there seems to be a different problem.

Taking my little one to his first game... was all excited when I booked the tickets but have since found there are no trains South if Three Bridges and no trains from Clapham Junction to Putney so will be two rail replacement buses for me 🤦‍♂️

Yeah, the three bridges one is gonna kill me. Got to get a bus for an hour before and after work for 4 days. Even though they did it not that long ago...
Even in a global pandemic, with minimal passengers, Southern railway is still the bottom of the pile in service. Haven't even been direct trains into Victoria this year, all into London Bridge. And that's a pain in the 'arris to negotiate at the best of time.

Rant over..

East Croydon to Waddon is only about a twenty minute walk?  Or a 119 from Fairfield Halls (I think) should drop you in the vicinity?

The three bridges one is a pain for me also then add the bus replacement from Clapham and the entire journey is disrupted. Throw in no Victoria trains half the time from mid Sussex and is it any wonder we just jump in the car

Thanks. I get on at Woodside so a faff getting off to get the bus and back on again.

I've decided to go to Clapham Junction and get the 295 to Dawes Rd. Weather permitting ofc.

The traffic at the Blackpool match was the worse I have seen it for a long time. Was there a specific issue that was causing it?Putney Bridge was virtually at a standstill.

For The Blackpool game I got the train to Blackfriars from Three Bridges then district line to Putney Bridge, was quite easy
