Harry Wilson has been great for us, I love watching him play, but I have to be honest, I don't like the way he goes to ground whenever he get fouled.
You just know what's going to happen, he'll be laying on the floor with his face in his hands waiting to see if the decision goes his way.
It's not something I like to see, neither it seems do both the commentators on Fulham tv who agree that he's getting a reputation as a diver.
I was reading the Blackburn Rovers forum the other day, and they just seemed to think we're a load of diving cheats.
Agree in general, but I don't think he was faking on the foul that led to the red card.

It was a red, but Harry's roll across the pitch was a bit embarrassing! Almost as bad as this one:

A player seeking to gain an advantage by exaggerating the effects of a foul challenge? Disgraceful. Never seen the like before.
Mind you I have been living in a yurt in the Gobi Desert for the past 20 years.

You've got bloody good Wi-Fi.
Carvalho the worst for it, he's ready for the premier league next year
The problem is though that refs judge bad tackles sometimes on the reaction of the players, something we've clearly learned at PL level. If he'd just jumped up and hobbled off, the guy would've probs got a yellow for what was a minging and needless tackle

You leave her out of it.
Sadly it is just part of the game now. Players from all teams now do the exaggerated falls and rolls. But having seen the tackle a few times I think the sending off seems correct. The tackle was reckless and late and looks worse on replays.
Shame as it changed the game and Swansea then decided to keep on trying to play the ball out even when under pressure which frankly when down to ten men was silly.
But yeah I think the sending off was a correct decision. However like fouls from corners, play acting happens every time.
I was going to start a thread a couple of weeks ago, it's the sort of thing that is going to backfire, we won't get decisions that we should. 'It's ridiculous'.
You can take the boy out of Liverpool...

I have felt that Wilson was taking a few dives that were out of order. Make no mistake we take a lot of very rough tackles from opponents, Mitro is a target from the start of every game, opponents are trying to wind him up in the hope of a response that is bookable.
However we must not develop this diving habit, I think refs will get wise to us and it could act against us. It really is unsporting and not the sort of thing we want at the Cottage.
Correct sending off decision that will be backed up when Swansea's appeal gets dismissed.

Me too, I've mentioned it a few times on the matchday threads already. It's not just Wilson either and it's a bad rep to get.
Last night's red was correct though.

Yep Mitro and Carvalho are also guilty...As has been said it could come back to bite us..I agree about the red though.
Don't know if any of you have had a tackle, studs up at full pelt on the ankle? I've still got scars on mine from exactly that 25 years ago when playing. Anyone claiming he rolled around a bit too much hasn't been hurt like that. If his foot was planted in the ground, he'd have a broken ankle and be out for months.
Nothing like a good moan when there's nothing else to moan about lol.
Hate the theatrics with a passion but a players are never rewarded for honesty. A foul is a foul regardless of whether a player is put out of action but why are penalties never given if the attacker stays on his feet? Ditto almost everywhere else in the attacking half of the pitch. Only rarely does dangerous play get punished when no contact is made but this is mostly in favour of defenders. An attacker that doesn't go down after a defender makes contact doesn't win a penalty. That's just the eay it is.
The fact is that most other teams are at it all game so if our players don't do it, we as a team are at a disadvantage. So, whilst I still hate theatrics, I hate it even more when we are naive and lose out to teams that play the system.
Wilson is theatrical at times but no doubt the foul on him deserved a red card and really turned the game, If it hadn't been for that I think we would have had to work hard to secure a draw. It is interesting that the number of assists are recorded, but why not claims for penalties, Mitro would be leading the table by more than the number of goals scored over his next challenger. I am very surprised he doesn't get booked more for his play acting in the penalty area, but I am more than happy about the goals he has scored for us. If he can do 1/2 as well next season we might stay up in the PL.
Tbh Mitro falls over alot more than Wilson, especially for a big fella. It is a bit embarassing but I suppose thats the modern game now.
As a fan I can understand where my fellow posters on this thread are coming from. We believe our players are hard working honest pro's who don't lie or cheat and play the beauiful game as it's meant to be played. Officials make the right decisions and good triumphs over evil.
However if you or I were pro's at the sharp end we'd see it entirely differently. Our efforts and skills wheren't appreciated by the boss, fans or the ref. So to help them understand "i'm working my bollocks off", I'm going to lay on the floor in agony, chase the ref half way up the pitch or give the thicko defender a dig.
It's not new, in the past you could deck your opponent then have a mass bundle and the ref would give a foul and we'd all carry on,
Cricket, Rugby and a host of other sports have managed to get the rules (of their sports) up to speed, with the improved physicality of their sports. Football hasn't. Hence the need for players to add theirs.
For me, at this moment in time, watching this team. With it's mix of hard work (Ream, Read, Kebano, to name but three) and the silky skills of (Cav, Wilson and Seri) carrying us towards Champions of the Championship is just brilliant. I've not mentioned several players, a raft of backroom staff and Khan's Snr and Junior out of this but they're just as important. I wish Berbatov, Clint. Pantsil, Roy, Slavisa and a few overs were young enough to be part of this as well. because this season is and has been brilliant.

Good points Ironic.
I think our skilful players often feel they have to go down to get the protection they need - but doesn't mean a foul hasn't been committed.
But how often in games do we cry 'come on ref, that was blatant'- when no foul is given on one of our skilful players, when it looks obvious.
But there is no reason to think our players are saints in this respect, and getting free kicks is seen as part of the pro game to some extent these days.
The game is very fast, and refs do miss a lot of things, while also giving fouls for minimal contact - they are human too, and a lot of these decisions are subjective.
Also, this season refs have had directives to keep the game moving, and this leads to criticism of refs letting too many things go.
But we do seem to have had some awful refs this season - though their's isn't an easy job.
