My mate is away and I am looking after his house. He has a fantastic big screen TV which he watches sports on and I was thinking I could do with something like that. Then, as he has Sky Cinema, I put on Dune as I had missed it at the cinema. For a massive blockbuster, on this TV it looks like someone shot it on a cheap phone in the local supermarket - made the whole thing seem like amdram. Can this be turned off?

Yes it can be turned off. Search soap opera effect on Google and the make of the tv and the solution will present itself. It is called different things on different tvs but is always on by default out the box

No I think it's awful! Many film directors say the same and recommend it is turned off to enjoy a movie as they intended
