Title: 6th is our Highest Ever Position in the Top Division (all time), isn't it ?

And might be 5th by the end of today.

A quick Google shows the highest finishing position at the end of the season is 7th (Europa League qualifying year), but I don't think we have ever been higher than we are now

03/04 under cookie we were 4th after 18 games, 8 wins 4 draws 6 defeats 28 points exactly the same as this season.

We were 4th once in the old Division 1 in the 1960s, and were wrongly denied a goal in a game which would have moved us up to third. I read it in one of the Fulham histories once, but time and a rock and roll lifestyle have ensured the details have faded in my memory.

I remember us being top for two days after the first game of 02/03 because I think we beat Bolton 4-1
We were also joint top in 2012 when we beat Norwich 5-0 in the first match of the season

Newcastle must have played later because they topped the table after one game with 1 goal difference better.
