Man City (A) - 2 September original date
Will Fulham finish with 11 players and no penalty against us? I doubt it.
I know there are "no easy games" however is this our toughest game of the season?

COYW!! ::scarf::
My guess is I will watch on mute...
Come on Fulham, surprise us.
2 bad passes by Ream
Quote from: WhiteJC on September 02, 2023, 01:27:16 PMI know there are "no easy games" however is this our toughest game of the season?
Without doubt, we will do well to score a goal and keep them below three.
looking ok so far
I will relax a little when we get our first!
Tom injured?
Come on Harris.
Strange we have 2 players down. Why is not the ref letting play continue
I have failed to find a stream that is not blocked by Norton and the FFCtv commentry is but a whisper. How are you watching in the UK
Cairney getting injured again, sigh. Legs like noodles these days
Come on Luke! Thoughest game possible for him, but let's go.
Harris breakout season on schedule.
Quote from: St Eve on September 02, 2023, 03:15:32 PMI will relax a little when we get our first!
That would be when the pressure would be stepped up.

True, but then we get our second!
Wilson, ref will never call that.
Day for Adama, late in the game come on as sub and quick counter and will get the shoot on target
⚽️ Get in there Fulham ⚽️
oooof
We held them for 1/2 hour which was pretty good.
1 nil to the state owned team
Well, that was coming
offside?
Oh no
That was fast...
got it back!!!
And now we are level, COYW!! ::scarf:: ::wine::
Oh Yessss
GO on Reeeeeeam
Get in there Ream ⚽️
There's our striker!
REAMMMMM ::scarf::
Yeeeees
haha never saw that coming
So Ream is our new secret weapon, 20 goals for the season Tim?
Tim " Eddie Johnson" Ream
Great flick by Raul

That was a yellow for City, glad I was sitting down.
We have scored which is more than most of us predicted so lets have no moaning after the match.
What an absolute useless pass by Pereira when we had a great opportunity... we cannot afford that.
Periera!!! Hows he misplaced that pass we were doubling up on them on that side and would have been through
Quote from: filham on September 02, 2023, 03:44:02 PMWe have scored which is more than most of us predicted so lets have no moaning after the match.
And Jiminez involved too
Diop's turn this week for two yellows?
Helped the boss get the shopping in & missed the two goals!
Classy city fans booing a player getting treatment after the ball cannoned into his head
wiiiiide open
Terrible marking
Might have known they would score just before half time, but will it stand??
Offside?
Even Sky think that was offside.
If this is allowed there is no point with VAR at all... he's right in front of the keeper. Absolute shambles!
got to be offside
VAR favouring the big boys again!!
everyone at sky sports saying offside beside ref and VAR at the ethiad what a joke, the bloke jumped over the ball
Quote from: Sting of the North on September 02, 2023, 03:52:38 PMIf this is allowed there is no point with VAR at all... he's right in front of the keeper. Absolute shambles!
and he almost touches it
Absolutely SICK of VAR
Yet again. A JOKE
How is that not interference? Absolute BS
You can see Leno adjust for a second to play the deflection.
All the Sky pundits agreed it should've been given offside. If it'd been at the other end it would definitely been given offside.
That's a total outrage of a decision.
There's almost no point in carrying on. Just give them the game and get off home early to miss the traffic.
Someone said in the week that the VAR refs are deciding the outcomes of games.
These decisions get worse and worse. This is a joke of a decisions. UTTER JOKE!!!
God, I hate the Prem. That goal was offside. Even the talking heads said so.
The state owned club will always get decisions like this. Rules don't apply to them because they have money and money makes the world go round.
How has that not be ruled out. The commentators are saying it's offside, how can everyone see that but VAR officials can't. It's ridiculous.
Quote from: LC on September 02, 2023, 03:55:01 PMHow has that not be ruled out. The commentators are saying it's offside, how can everyone see that but VAR officials can't. It's ridiculous.
Didn't want to embarras their mates.
State owned, paid for team and paid for VAR refs. How is that NOT interference
This is absurd, everytime we play one of these teams
I just do not believe it isnt corruption at the highest level
What's the point? We play really well against all the big boys and then get these ridiculous decisions in every single game.
Whoever the VAR Officals are for this match need sacking, another decision for the big boys club
VAR refs all off to dubai at the end of the season for a break
It's ludicrous he takes a swing at the ball how is that not impacting on the goalkeeper and affecting the play.
VAR badge check yet again
It makes me wonder why I even watch.
Absolutely ridiculous, biased seeming decisions.
First Robinson's yellow, then that goal which was definitely offside, Leno had a player on an offside position standing right in front of him.
Rubbish !!!!
Wonder Marco doesn't chin one of the official's !
Absolutely criminal
Furious,
Yet again we're performing well against a top team...and an utter joke of a decision . Their player is directly between Ake and goalie in an offside decision, moves his leg out in a flicking motion so Leno dives late.... absolutely Disgusting refereeing yet again
Sick of it
Disgusting decision again
It is fine though, we are gonna get our third apology from Howard Webb in four games. That makes it all better.
So that's 2 offside non-calls... ::angry::
Leno clearly delays his movement for a split second as he thinks he is going to divert it. It's gone under his F ing foot for F sake. In what universe can that not be interfering?! Every F ing week. Absolute joke.
Terrible defending for the header however. Shame as we've been excellent and they have barely threatened plus we look dangerous on the break. The standard of reffing this season is beyond diabolical
At least we're giving them a game, despite all the doom mongers here telling us we would just roll over and lose. On balance we deserve to be even.
100% incorrect decision for the second goal. No excuses, crystal clear interference. It is impossible to be this incompetent, so obviously he just really wanted to help the oil puddle gang. I guess it will be the usual apology afterwards, that will do no one any good.
Outrageous!
They are making it up as they go along.
And they wonder why Marco gets riled up.
200% that gets called against us going the other way, he has clearly in the way and has swung a leg at it! This is a disgrace
last year thats a goal but under the new rules thats interfering. He steps over the ball? You even see leno stutter
How many matches have been ruined by VAR now?
As they say, VAR checking the club badge.
Another matchday, another diabolical decision against us. Nothing new.
Quote from: Jimmy Hill on September 02, 2023, 03:59:19 PMlast year thats a goal but under the new rules thats interfering. He steps over the ball? You even see leno stutter
What? That has never been a goal since offside was invented surely?
https://twitter.com/RealTalkMCFC/status/1697986943710118156
Could have gone either way. Yeah right. What a joke. Marco should say it was a joke in the post match interview again. They can't fine him if he's saying the truth.
The current interpretation of the "not interfering" rule is ridiculous. I said this on another thread last week.
"Kane has been "using" this interpretation for over a season. He deliberately takes up an offside position and then stands still so he is deemed not to be interfering with play. But he is then perfectly placed for any so-called 2nd phase. He is also messing with defenders' minds. At the very least they will keep half an eye on him and that will distract them from marking the others tightly.
That goal was in 50th minute, game would have continued until they scored, goal had to be given unless first half game time was to be ridiculous.
I have never believed the corruption theory, but now I am not so sure. There is no way that goal should stand
::angry:: Next maybe a red card for 1 of our players and Marco.
I would just love to know what the VAR idiot said to the ref to confirm the goal was good.
Quote from: bill taylors apprentice on September 02, 2023, 04:07:05 PMI would just love to know what the VAR idiot said to the ref to confirm the goal was good.
Probably just checked that he didn't touch the ball. Ridiculous decision.
We might as well not play and just give them 3 points.
Quote from: _Putney_ on September 02, 2023, 04:00:06 PMHow many matches have been ruined by VAR now?
Not by VAR - by the incompetents at the FA who set the rules and the interpretation of them, and by the officials on VAR who refuse to give contentious decisions against the powerful teams. After the revelations of last week they can't argue that they are not influenced by "sentiment". If they had given this offside they would have been undermining their mates who've given similar goals in recent weeks.
I am so sick of having to play against 12 every week.

I think you're right. Reading through the FA rules it appears Akanji has to 'clearly" attempt to play the ball. Just interfering with the goalkeepers decision making does not make it offsides which seems silly.
That lot down the road losing

He tried to kick it thats an attempt to play the ball
The officials have massively let us down in all four Premier League games now. Absolutely shocking. The officiating of games has never been so inept.

BDR with a yellow now
Ref's a total w******!!!
amount of cards we're getting this season we'll keep the post office going
As a positive, think Raul has been great today.
BDR sneezed and got a yellow
Honestly, corruption within the game is here, has been a long time.
No way referees/VAR are this bad without being "encouraged".

Many years ago the great Danny Blanchflower sai if you are not interfering with play you shouldn't be on the pitch.
players are just thinking whats the point in trying, the officials want them to win anyway
I can't do this to myself anymore today. Its not enjoyable to watch a match like this. Good day.
I'm surprised Haaland wasn't awarded two goals there...

Jiminez has played well again... no one else on the same wavelength today though
Perieras been very poor. Glad we have Iwobi for days like this going forwards.
Traore and Willian on asap.
Vini or Muniz a runout too with 10 to go

So pleased this game is at the Cottage. I hope JP is ready to get back on it.
Absolute disgrace.
only bright side is ive Haaland as my FPL capt
Well, that's the penalty ticked on the check sheet.
Convenient for Webb to conclude that the terrible decision in the first half didn't impact the outcome.
Only positive, not a second yellow... ::wine::
Despite the score line.
Didn't disgrace ourselves. Just like the Brentford game were done in by crap refereeing.
Makes football hard to care about , thoroughly demoralising.
Luton the perfect game to get back to winning next up.
4 points from 4 games not the worst when you've played Arsenal and City in those games.
You always expect to lose at City, but it doesn't sound like there's much to shout about from the performance.
I'm amazed the ref never sent Diop off!
Not because he should have but because that would really cap the day off nicely!
2nd goal changed the game. Joke yet again
The game was over when the ref, assistants and VAR give them a second goal a minute before half time - the 49th minute.

Adama should come on for Wilson
Waiting for the ref to card someone for time wasting 4-1 down
There's no doubt IMO that MC have been the better team (as they should be with all the talent they have bought) but not to justify this score-line. Having said that, I have enjoyed our approach and attitude. They know they have been run closer than the score suggests.
Their second (non) goal totally changed the game. Surely the league chairmen can get together to do something about this stupid "not interfering" interpretation? The international break is a perfect opportunity to build up a head of steam. They've changed interpretations before - the handball in the area for example.

I mean its simple, if you within the goal posts youre offside
Blow the whistle!!!
Ouch
Goals change games, even the ones that should have been disallowed.
Awful start by Castagne
That's why I said Castagne is not an upgrade on Tete. He got turned inside out by a fullback, while Tete kept their new star winger in his pocket.
celebrate a 5th goal, in the 96th?? don't care that it's a hat trick.

I have nothing against Castagne, think he is an excellent backup, probably the best we can get. But some people were suggesting he was brought in as an upgrade on Tete and that is in my opinion laughable.
It's not just this game, last season Castagne was poor defensively while Tete was one of the best 1 on 1 defenders. Tete is just better, I got absolutely nothing against Castagne.
They need to change the rules and just give the top teams two wildcards every game which they can use at their discretion: one, the award of a penalty at any point in the game that they find most helpful and, two, to rule that a goal of theirs that should blatantly be ruled out stands. It would make the game much easier to follow and clear up a lot of confusion.

I've said before they I think Silva doesn't appreciate Tete. Why else would we have got Soares on loan? You don't spend £100K per week to get someone to sit on the bench. He was intended to be an upgrade on Tete. Of course, Silva made a mistake and soon realised why Soares couldn't get a kick for Arsenal.
