Fulham: Whites now attempting Ismail Jakobs move
Marco Silva wants new full-backs.

Fulham are now attempting a late move for Senegal international defender Ismail Jakobs as a report shares an update on transfer talks.

Who will Fulham sign?
Manager Marco Silva has watched three major signings come through the door so far.

Indeed, defender Calvin Bassey is perhaps the most notable of them, with Fulham putting pen to paper on an £18.2 million move to prise him away from Eredivisie giants Ajax.

Meanwhile, former Wolves duo Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore swapped Molineux for Craven Cottage thereafter, with the Whites attempting to strengthen before September 1.

Their trio of deals, though, isn't satisfactory enough from Silva's perspective - as the Fulham boss explained earlier this month that his side quite simply need to be doing more.

"Unfortunately, we need many still. We have some important players injured," Silva said.

"I hope they can come sooner. We have just two full backs, we need a midfielder too and we have just two wingers so we need another two wingers.

"We have completed our central defenders. I needed these players 15 days or 20 days ago, not now."

Fulham were chasing a deal to sign Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi to shore up that area of the squad, but according to reliable media sources, that move has stalled.

The west Londoners now also need a striker to replace the departed Aleksandar Mitrovic, as Silva's former star striker has made a move to the Saudi Pro League to join up with Al-Hilal - where he will partner Neymar going forward.

To succeed Mitrovic, it is reported that Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is of serious interest with talks ongoing, but they'll face some stiff competition from Ligue 1 side Monaco.

Back to Jakobs and the full-back area, Fulham are apparently chasing the Senegalese, with a report from TEAMtalk sharing the latest on their pursuit.

Indeed, the outlet claims they're in ongoing talks to sign the African who featured at last year's 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and he is now a "top target" for Silva personally.

This comes as the full-back area is seen as a transfer "priority", with Leicester City star Timothy Castagne also on Fulham's radar heading into the September 1 deadline.

It's added that the Craven Cottage side are "determined" to win the race for Jakobs in particular, though, with with league rivals Nottingham Forest also in the hunt for his signature.

How good is Ismail Jakobs?
The 24-year-old has impressed at Monaco since his transfer from Cologne in 2021, making 41 appearances in all competitions last season.

Jakobs can contribute going forward, too, having registered eight assists in total throughout his total cameos in a Monaco shirt.

The left-back also managed four goals and four assists in 47 appearances whilst he was at Cologne (Transfermarkt), but his discipline behind-the-scenes has been flagged as an issue recently.

"Jakobs was fined for something that will remain internal," said former Monaco manager Phillipe Clement last season.

"It's clear that it wasn't good. He understood that. It's done, but he won't be part of the squad [against Toulouse]."

How Arsenal could line up against Fulham
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will have to work around Takehiro Tomiyasu's suspension for Saturday's Premier League London derby against Fulham at the Emirates.

The Japanese full-back was sent off for two bookable offences in Monday's win at Crystal Palace, firstly taking too long over a throw-in before a perceived foul on Jordan Ayew.

Tomiyasu had been introduced into a makeshift left-back role in place of Jurrien Timber - who is now on the long road to recovery from his ACL injury - but Gooners breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Oleksandr Zinchenko's name on the teamsheet last week.

The Ukrainian has now fully recovered from a calf issue and should be given the nod at left-back, which in turn could benefit Gabriel Magalhaes's chances of a recall alongside regular centre-back partner William Saliba.

Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale - still possessing the number one status despite David Raya's arrival - may complete a familiar 2022-23 backline, as Monday's man of the match Declan Rice aims to continue his positive start to life in red and white.

Thomas Partey - who has played a hybrid right-back role so far this term - may be sacrificed in the shake-up, as Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz join Rice in the engine room, while Mohamed Elneny (knee) and Albert Sambi Lokonga (muscle) are both in the treatment room.

Fulham-linked striker Folarin Balogun (foot) also remains out alongside knee surgery victim Gabriel Jesus, which surely means another start for Eddie Nketiah, who drew the foul for the game-winning penalty at Selhurst Park.

Leandro Trossard memorably set up three goals in the first half at Craven Cottage last season, but the Belgian's chances of displacing Gabriel Martinelli or Bukayo Saka are slim.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli

Report: Bayern Munich scoping out Premier League defender to replace Benjamin Pavard
Could Bayern find a valuable squad player out of the EPL?

This one is out of left field — or is it right field? Bayern Munich has reportedly developed interest late in the transfer window for Fulham fullback Kenny Tete. The 27-year-old Dutch international is one of the emerging candidates to replace Benjamin Pavard, who looks set to leave for Inter Milan.

However, the interest does not look advanced. From Isabelle Latifa Barker, who covers Fulham, and via @iMiaSanMia:

Bayern are keeping tabs on Fulham right-back Kenny Tete (27). The German giants view the Dutchman as a potential replacement for Benjamin Pavard who is set to join Inter. Tete has one-year left on his deal at Fulham [@Isabellelatifa]

However it appears the player may stay in the Premier League, with Liverpool FC reportedly in the lead.

That report, coming from The Sun, touts the Reds (but not Die Roten) for a £10.5m transfer scoop for Tete. It also cites two anonymous Premier League clubs and one La Liga club in the race — no mention of Bayern or the Bundesliga.

Do not be surprised if this does not happen.

Arsenal predicted XI vs Fulham: Who will replace suspended Takehiro Tomiyasu in defence?
The Gunners will host Fulham in the Premier League at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal will be bidding to preserve their perfect start to the new Premier League campaign when they take on Fulham at the Emirates this weekend. So far the Gunners have amassed six points from their first two matches, and will know that they have a golden opportunity to maintain that 100% record against a Cottagers side who have endured a mixed opening fortnight.

Marco Silva's men came racing out of the traps with a 1-0 win over Everton, but were humbled somewhat last weekend in a lacklustre 3-0 defeat to Brentford. For their part, Arsenal followed up on their curtain-raising 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest with a hardfought 1-0 triumph against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

But how will Mikel Arteta set up his team when they play host to their London rivals on Saturday afternoon? We've taken a closer look at what we believe could be his most probable starting XI below...

Formation
Everything Arsenal do is characterised by a certain measure of tactical fluidity, but Arteta's general preference is to set his team out in a 4-3-3 formation. Expect plenty of threat from wide areas, and an effort to overcrowd the centre of the park with the use of an inverted full-back who tucks into midfield when the Gunners are building the foundations of an attack.

Goalkeeper
While David Raya is still very much in the process of settling in at the Emirates, Aaron Ramsdale remains the first choice option between the sticks. The England international will have plenty of competition to fend off in the coming weeks and months, but for now at least, he is number one.

Defence
An interesting one here, with the Gunners already facing a bit of a selection headache at left-back. New signing Jurrien Timber sustained a long-term ACL injury on the opening weekend, and is likely to be absent for the entirety of his debut season in England. Speaking about the Dutchman recently, Arteta said: "Obviously for the team it's a big blow because we recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident and he's not going to be in this season for us. We have to adapt, these things happen unfortunately, and we have to move on."

The manager's solution to Timber's unexpected absence against Palace on Monday evening was to include Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu on the left-side of his back four, but the 24-year-old was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards in seven second-half minutes. With Arsenal unable to appeal the decision, Arteta could hand Oleksandr Zinchenko his first Premier League start of the season.

At the heart of defence, Ben White appears to have usurped Gabriel Magalhaes as William Saliba's preferred partner, and at right-back, Thomas Partey should continue in a new hybrid role that allows him to advance into the centre of midfield when required.

Midfield
With no new injury or suspension concerns to report, Arteta is likely to continue with the same midfield trio that he has opted for in both of Arsenal's top flight outings so far this term. Summer signing Declan Rice has settled with a satisfying rapidity, while fellow acquisition Kai Havertz is showing flashes of promise in a slightly more attacking role.

Martin Odegaard registered his first goal of the new campaign from the penalty spot at Selhurst Park on Monday, and will be integral to the Gunners' creative prospects going forward.

Attack
Out wide, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli must be two of the first names on Arteta's team sheet by this point, and the hope will be that they can continue to make good on their otherworldly potential over the coming months.

Through the middle, with Gabriel Jesus not expected back until at least September, Eddie Nketiah should persist as the Gunners' go-to centre-forward option. The 24-year-old scored on the opening weekend, but missed a couple of gilded opportunities against Palace earlier in the week.

Full Predicted XI
Aaron Ramsdale; Thomas Partey, Ben White, William Saliba, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz; Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah.

Another Fulham player becomes transfer target – Links with manager seen as key
As AS Roma continue with their pursuit for a new centre-forward, they seem to have added a Fulham player to the list.

This information is brought by Siamo La Roma, who claim the Giallorossi are now following Carlos Vinícius.

It's said Roma have been aiming at other targets such as Romelu Lukaku, Moise Kean and Luka Jovic, but the Brazilian, who is well known by Tiago Pinto and José Mourinho, now 'recovered ground'.

The outlet points out Carlos Vinícius is currently 'on the sidelines' at Fulham, but has shown interesting skills in the past which attract the interest of Roma's director and coach.

Pinto worked with Vinícius during their time at Benfica, while Mourinho managed the striker at Tottenham Hotspur.

For now, the interest sounds more like an early idea, and there's no information on whether Roma are preparing a bid for the centre-forward.

Carlos Vinícius is valued by Transfermarkt at €6m, and has a contract with Fulham until 2025, with the possibility of an extra year. He's still to get a single minute for the club this season.

Juventus Have Price In Mind For Fulham Target Moise Kean
Juventus have set a steep asking price for striker Moise Kean, who has emerged as a target for Fulham with a little over a week left in the transfer window.

The 23-year-old striker was expected to continue at Juventus but Premier League interest in him means the Bianconeri are prepared to cash in on him.

The Serie A giants signed him on a permanent deal earlier this summer after his two-year loan spell from Everton expired.

But they are now prepared to move him on before next week's transfer deadline with Fulham interested in him.

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport Juventus have a price in mind for Kean's potential departure in the coming days.

It has been claimed that the Bianconeri want a fee north of the €30m mark before agreeing to sell the forward.

Fulham are in talks with Juventus over agreeing on a deal to sign the striker in the coming days.

He had an unhappy spell in England with Everton previously but could now be back in the Premier League soon.

Fulham are in the hunt for a striker after losing their star forward Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Arabia.

'My understanding': Tottenham could end up getting £13m player in a swap deal for Eric Dier – journalist
Tosin Adarabioyo has been linked with Tottenham for months at this point, but, here we are, one week away from the end of the transfer window and he's still at Fulham.

The £13m defender has been unable to get a move away from Craven Cottage so far this summer, but, interestingly, that could now all change.

Indeed, according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, there could soon be some movement on the Tosin front, with the journalist claiming that a swap deal could be possible for Tottenham

Jacobs says that his understanding of this situation is that Fulham are open to letting Tosin join Spurs if they can get hold of Eric Dier in exchange.

Dier for Tosin
Jacobs shared what he knows about this potential swap.

"With Tosin, my understanding was that he preferred to sign for Monaco, but from Fulham's point of view, they were perhaps interested in some sort of deal that might involve Eric Dier going the other way, so we wait and see if the player changes his mind," Jacobs said.

Would make sense
In all honesty, this is a rare instance of a swap deal making sense.

Think about it, both players have one year left on their contracts, and they both suit what each team needs.

Spurs want a young, mouldable defender with a high ceiling, while Fulham are in need of some ruggedness and defensive experience in order to guide them through what may prove to be a very difficult chapter in their history after losing Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Swap deals in football are very rare, but, on this occasion, we can actually see the logic behind this one getting done.

Arsenal given huge Gabriel Jesus injury boost ahead of Fulham clash
Gabriel Jesus has been spotted in Arsenal training ahead of Arsenal's weekend clash with Fulham in the Premier League

Gabriel Jesus has been spotted back in Arsenal training after suffering a knee injury ahead of the Community Shield at the end of July.

The Brazilian underwent a minor procedure to correct a lingering issue having suffered a medial collateral ligament injury in last year's World Cup but looks to be closing on a return.

The former Manchester City player was filmed by Sky Sports taking part in the warm-ups ahead of team training. Mikel Arteta said that the striker underwent the procedure as it was the best thing to do.

"He is fine obviously he was very disappointed, he was feeling very good and this issue came up," he said during a press conference ahead of the match with Man City in the Community Shield.

"Nobody expected it and we had to do a little procedure there. But unfortunately it was the best thing to do.

"[To do it] as quickly as possible the better. We made that decision. I'm sure he will be back soon and very fit."

Eddie Nketiah has filled in the central striker role in the absence of Jesus. He scored the opening goal against Nottingham Forest before winning a penalty to help beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park last weekend.

Jesus would need to make something of a miraculous recovery this week to play some part against Fulham at the weekend. However, he could possibly return in time for the visit of Manchester United the following week ahead of an international break where the additional time will allow for further building of fitness.

Mikel Arteta will speak to the press tomorrow and is sure to provide an update on Jesus. Live updates and a full transcript of the Arsenal manager's words will be available o the football.london website.

Arsenal vs Fulham: Prediction and Preview
ollowing the disappointment of last season's second-place finish, Arsenal have overcome two stubborn opponents to approach Saturday's tussle with Fulham with a perfect record. We look ahead to the game at the Emirates Stadium with our Arsenal vs Fulham prediction and preview.

Arsenal vs Fulham: The Quick Hits
The Opta supercomputer is positive about Arsenal's chances of maintaining their 100% record in the Premier League, giving the Gunners a 55.0% chance of victory against Fulham.
Arsenal have never lost a home league game against Fulham (W24 D6).
Following their victory at Everton on the opening day, Fulham are looking to win their first two away games of a top-flight season for the first time, at the 29th attempt.

Match Preview
It has not exactly been smooth sailing for Arsenal in the opening weeks of the Premier League season, but prospective champions must be able to win without playing well.

That is exactly what Mikel Arteta's team have done so far, seeing off stern challenges from Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace to join Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City on maximum points. Up next for Arteta's charges is Saturday's London derby against Fulham.

Arsenal were made to work for their 1-0 victory at Selhurst Park on Monday, with Palace unable to respond to Martin Ødegaard's penalty despite Takehiro Tomiyasu being sent off for two bookable offences. Arsenal are the only team in Premier League history to win more games (36) than they have lost (34) when having a player dismissed – that kind of resolve could be crucial if they are to topple City this campaign.

On Saturday, however, fans will expect to see a more free-flowing iteration of Arteta's side. Since the start of last season, 81 Premier League goals have been scored at the Emirates Stadium (55 for Arsenal, 26 against), giving it the highest goals-per-game ratio of any top-flight venue in that time (4.05).

With forward Gabriel Jesus still sidelined, the Gunners are looking for alternative sources of inspiration in attack. Leandro Trossard could come in, having recorded three assists in Arsenal's last meeting with Fulham in March. The Belgian has averaged an assist every 95 minutes of Premier League action in 2023, the best ratio in a single calendar year ever recorded in the competition (among players to play a minimum of 500 minutes).

In defence, Arsenal will be without the suspended Tomiyasu and the injured Jurriën Timber, but Gabriel Magalhães' potential introduction into the lineup could be a good omen. He has scored in three of his four Premier League games against Fulham, including a late winner in this fixture last August.

London derbies don't tend to bring much joy for Fulham, who are winless in their last seven top-flight meetings with capital clubs, losing five. The most recent of those came last week as Brentford triumphed 3-0 at Craven Cottage, leaving Marco Silva's men on three points from two games.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid's goal sealed victory at Everton a week earlier, meaning they have the chance to win their first two away games of a top-flight season for the first time, in what is their 29th campaign at this level.

Fulham have plenty of problems to solve ahead of kick-off, however, with Tim Ream suspended after picking up two bookings against Brentford and their leading goalscorer in both of the last two seasons, Aleksandar Mitrovic, joining Al Hilal for a reported £50 million.

Ex-Arsenal winger Willian is among those hoping to replace Mitrovic's goals. He has yet to face Arteta's team since leaving in 2021 and – at the age of 35 years and 17 days – could become the oldest former Arsenal player to score against them in the Premier League on Saturday.

Arsenal vs Fulham Head-to-Head
Remarkably, Arsenal have never lost a league game at home to Fulham, winning 24 and drawing six of their 30 such meetings. No other team has a better unbeaten record at home to a particular opponent in English league history.

Indeed, Arsenal have been a difficult nut for Fulham to crack regardless of the venue, with Fulham failing to win any of their last 10 Premier League meetings with the Gunners, only managing two draws in that run and failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 16 against them.

Arteta's team produced a ruthless attacking display when they last met Fulham in March, with Trossard laying on first-half goals for Gabriel, Ødegaard and Gabriel Martinelli in a routine 3-0 win at Craven Cottage.

Fulham's last Premier League win over Arsenal came back in January 2012, when Bobby Zamora's last-ditch winner handed Martin Jol's team a 2-1 victory.

Recent Form
As well as keeping them level with Brighton and Man City at the top of the early-season league table, Monday's victory over Palace extended Arsenal's unbeaten run in Premier League London derbies to 13 games (11 wins, two draws).

Arsenal should also be buoyed by the prospect of a 3pm Saturday kick-off, having lost just one of their last 34 home Premier League games at that time, winning 27 and drawing six. They won three of their four such fixtures last season, drawing the other 1-1 against Brentford.

Fulham have struggled when travelling across the capital lately, winning just one of their last 19 top-flight away games against fellow London clubs (four draws, 14 defeats). Their only victory in that sequence was a 3-0 defeat of Crystal Palace on Boxing Day last year.

Opta Power Rankings
The Opta Power Rankings are a global team ranking system that assigns an ability score to over 13,000 domestic football teams on a scale between zero and 100, where zero is the worst-ranked team in the world and 100 is the best team in the world.

Ahead of kick-off this weekend, here is the Opta Power Ranking for both sides.

Arsenal vs Fulham Prediction
(https://theanalyst.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/arsenal-vs-fulham-prediction.png)

The Opta supercomputer expects Arsenal's strong start to 2023-24 to continue on Saturday, giving them a 55.0% chance of victory at the Emirates.

Fulham are given just a 19.0% chance of causing an upset, though Silva's side would surely take a draw at the home of last season's runners-up. The likelihood of the points being shared stands at 26.0%.

Despite Arsenal's unblemished start, the supercomputer gives them just a 5.1% chance of lifting the Premier League trophy at the end of the campaign. Fulham, meanwhile, are predicted to steer clear of major danger, with the supercomputer assigning them just a 6.6% chance of relegation.

Across 10,000 season simulations before this game, Arsenal ended in the top four of the league table 85.2% of the time, which would of course be enough for UEFA Champions League football again. Fulham's most likely finishing position is 13th (14.1%), sandwiched either side of Crystal Palace and Wolves.

Arsenal are handed major Gabriel Jesus injury boost with the striker returning to training ahead of clash against Fulham - after he underwent procedure on a knee injury

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has been spotted taking part in a training session
Jesus was forced to miss the start of the season after suffering a knee injury

Gabriel Jesus has returned to Arsenal training in a major boost to Mikel Arteta, with the striker progressing ahead of schedule during his recovery from a knee injury.

The frontman underwent a minor procedure to correct a lingering issue after being forced out of action ahead of the Community Shield at the end of last month.

It is believed the setback was linked to the medial collateral ligament injury he sustained in last year's World Cup, but he is now rapidly closing in on a comeback.

Indeed, Jesus was spotted in training by the Sky Sports cameras on Thursday morning, having taken part in the warm-ups ahead of the main session.

There is perhaps a small possibility that Jesus makes the bench for this weekend's fixture against Fulham, though his condition will be carefully monitored.

Boss Arteta admitted that the ace went under the knife to prevent repeat problems.

'He is fine. Obviously he was very disappointed, he was feeling very good and this issue came up,' Arteta revealed in a press conference.

'Nobody expected it and we had to do a little procedure there. But unfortunately it was the best thing to do.

'[To do it] as quickly as possible the better. We made that decision. I'm sure he will be back soon and very fit.'

Jesus' knee woes led to him missing a large chunk of last season, with the 26-year-old sitting out of 12 Premier League matches before returning in March.

His absence handed Eddie Nketiah a chance to impress in the spotlight and the academy graduate has led the line for Arsenal in their opening two fixtures this year.

Brazil international Jesus scored 11 goals and laid on eight assists across 33 games in all competitions during his debut campaign at the Emirates.

He joined Arsenal from Manchester City last year in a £45million deal.

Monaco target Ousmane Diomandé as Tosin Adarabioyo move looks likely to collapse
Despite appearing to be in pole position to complete a deal for Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo earlier this summer, Monaco will ostensibly not be signing the English defender, and are looking elsewhere for backline reinforcements.

According to Foot Mercato this afternoon, Adarabioyo is likely to see out the final year of his contract with the Cottagers due to the complexity of a prospective transfer, as the Premier League club have mandated several intermediaries.

Instead, the current Ligue 1 leaders have now identified two possible targets in Portugal. One of these is Sporting CP's 19-year-old defender Ousmane Diomandé. The 19-year-old, who arrived from Midtjylland in January, has impressed in his technical ease and anticipation, and is already a starter in the Portuguese capital. However, a transfer would be difficult given his release clause is set at €80m.

A more realistic option would be Portimonense's defender Filipe Relvas, who has also attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea, Wolfsburg, Beşiktaş, and Benfica. The 23-year-old would be likely to cost less than €10m.

Deal for Fulham exit now has 'great chances of collapsing' – Silva's side not responding to offer
It appears that despite the insistence of Tosin Adarabioyo, AS Monaco will not be the next destination of the Fulham defender.

The centre-back has been trying to find an exit route from Craven Cottage since the start of the transfer window, with principality side his favoured landing spot.

However, the latest news from Foot Mercato in France believe the deal with Fulham is all but off.

As has been previously reported, the deal is 'complex' because of some intermediaries that have been 'mandated' by Marco Silva's side to try and get a deal done.

Despite the 'strong desire' from Adarabioyo to sign for Monaco and leave Fulham for good with a year left on his contract at the Premier League side, the deal now has 'great chances of collapsing'.

The Ligue 1 side have even made a 'firm offer' to Fulham, but have not received a response from Craven Cottage, which goes to show where their view on the matter currently stands.

That's why Monaco are now going after other alternatives, such as Sporting CP's Ousmane Diomandé and Filipe Relvas, currently contracted to Portimonense.

Monaco Ready To End Pursuit Of Fulham Star, Cottagers Favour Spurs Deal
Monaco's pursuit of Fulham star and Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo is likely to end as the Ligue 1 outfit are looking into other alternatives.

Tottenham have brought in Micky van de Ven this summer, but Ange Postecoglou is pushing for another centre-back.

Spurs have been linked with several defenders and Fulham's Adarabioyo is one of them.

Monaco are also in the race for the former Manchester City player and have submitted a bid for Adarabioyo.

The Ligue 1 outfit have not heard back from Fulham regarding their bid and it is suggested that the Cottagers want to sell the player to Tottenham.

With the transfer window nearing its end, according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Monaco have decided to look into the market for alternatives to the Fulham star.

The defender is, however, keen on joining Monaco and Spurs, although showing firm interest in Adarabioyo, have yet to submit a bid.

Adarabioyo has entered the final year of his contract with Fulham and has yet to make an appearance for the Cottagers this season.

Fulham still 'serious candidates' for player – He 'dreams' of PL, club want €25m offer for him
Fulham are still one of the 'serious candidates' for KRC Genk star Mike Trésor but are yet to submit a bid that would satisfy the Belgian club.

That's according to Voetbal Nieuws, who say a departure for the player 'seemed inevitable and only a matter of time' at one point but that is now less certain.

They explain that Fulham officially reported to Genk at the end of July for Trésor and were told that it would take €25m to secure his signature.

That was something we covered at the time, with a report detailing their efforts and hinting a deal was likely as Trésor was expected to depart.

VN follow that up and say while that was the case, Fulham have not yet submitted a concrete offer to the Limburg club and the chances of him departing are getting smaller every day.

They say that from the extensive list of interested parties in recent weeks and months, Fulham are one of only 'two serious candidates' remaining in the race.

There has also been talk of Burnley and Nottingham Forest being keen, but they've not taken any official steps on that front, so Fulham are, at least on the face of it, out in front.

Genk are 'waiting for an offer' of €25m and ready to cooperate with the player, who wants to leave and 'dreams' of playing in the Premier League.

They've already spent €10m on Alieu Fadera and Christopher Bonsu Baah as replacements so would be more than happy to see him depart.

Whether that's to Fulham remains to be seen, though, with them yet to put the money on the table. That could change after they pocketed €52.6m from selling Aleksandr Mitrovic to Al-Hilal, but it is yet to happen.

Report: Craven Cottage Prepping for Juventus Talent?

The Mitrovic Legacy
When the news broke that Aleksandar Mitrovic, the talismanic Serb who'd become synonymous with Fulham's frontline, was bound for pastures new in the Saudi Pro League, it sent ripples across the footballing community. Boasting an enviable record of 111 goals from 206 outings and bagging the Player of the Year title twice, his boots at Craven Cottage are proving substantial ones to fill.

Last weekend's match with Brentford left little to the imagination, as a Mitrovic-less Fulham mustered a paltry two shots on target in a 3-0 drubbing. But as one chapter closes, another beckons.

The Juventus Starlet
In the footballing corridors of Italy's finest, Juventus, there's a young forward who might just fit the Fulham mould. Moise Kean's journey has been a compelling tale of peaks and troughs. After a stint at Everton that promised much but delivered relatively little, the Italian found himself back in the comforting embrace of Juventus, initially on loan and subsequently for a £25m outright deal. Across two seasons, Kean clocked up a significant 82 appearances in all competitions, carving out his niche under the watchful eye of Massimiliano Allegri.

As per reports by 90Min, murmurs from Turin suggest that the Old Lady might be willing to part with their prodigious talent. Moreover, whispers hint at Kean's own eagerness to grace the Premier League once again, with Craven Cottage a probable destination.

Deal or No Deal?
While Juventus appear to have their hearts set on a straightforward sale, Fulham's financial strategists are toying with a loan-first approach, coupled with a purchase option. As the negotiations ebb and flow, insiders remain optimistic that a compromise—a loan with a mandatory buy clause—could well be the order of the day.

The Domino Effect
In the grand tapestry of football transfers, one move invariably impacts another. If Kean were to embark on an English sojourn, the spotlight in Turin would firmly fall on Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian forward's name has been bandied about in connection with a number of elite clubs, with Chelsea even batting away a proposed swap deal involving their Belgian powerhouse, Romelu Lukaku, earlier this August, as highlighted by 90Min.

But should Kean trade his black and white stripes for the Fulham jersey, Juventus might be more inclined to hold onto their Serbian starlet.

As the transfer saga unfolds, Fulham's pursuit of Juventus' young gun promises to be one of the stories of the season. Only time will tell if Craven Cottage is set to welcome its next big-name arrival.

Marco Silva gives Arsenal transfer hint on Folarin Balogun links after £46m decision
Fulham boss Marco Silva has stated his opinion on potential signings amid the Cottager's interest in Arsenal's USMNT centre-forward Folarin Balogun

Marco Silva has provided an update on Fulham's likelihood of bringing in a striker before the end of the transfer window on September 1st.

The Cottagers finally took the decision to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for a fee believed to be in the region of £46million last weekend. football.london understands that Fulham are looking at Arsenal's Folarin Balogun as a potential replacement for the Serbian.

The West Londoners are among several Premier League sides interested in bringing in the USMNT striker. Tottenham and Chelsea have both reportedly enquired about Balogun, while West Ham also have an interest. It is thought that Monaco are also preparing to launch a second official bid for the 22-year-old after seeing an initial offer rejected earlier in the summer.

When asked about potential further incomings his press conference before Fulham travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners on Saturday afternoon, Silva admitted that his side were in the market for a centre-forward, hinting at the level of player they are hoping to attract.

"If we are going to sign a striker, it has to be someone who can have an impact in our squad," he said. "Of course we need to sign players, but we need to sign the right ones."

As well as having an interest in Balogun, Fulham have also been linked to signing Juventus' Moise Kean, who Silva briefly worked with at Everton. Silva though, ruled this out as a prospect in his press conference. "Moise Kean is not a solution for us," he said. "I don't like to speak about players, but I want to clarify this situation."

Balogun is one of at least seven players Arsenal are open to selling before the summer transfer window closes on September 1st. The American forward had an impressive loan spell with Stade de Reims last season where he scored 22 goals. Despite though, he is not a part of Mikel Arteta's plans for the coming season and is yet to feature in a matchday squad for the Gunners so far.

Can Fulham bounce back at Arsenal?

Can Fulham bounce back at Arsenal?

It's not been a great week for Fulham; an awful performance at home to Brentford, followed by Mitrovic's departure has certainly dampened the mood around the club. Add in the fact we haven't recruited more players and we now head to the Emirates to take on Arsenal, surely it can't get any worse? I quite like to get these fixtures out the way and while our squad isn't fully complete getting a 'free hit' isn't necessarily a bad thing. But can Fulham get anything from this game?

The opposition
Arsenal come into this game off the back of two consecutive victories against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, and have added the likes of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz to an already immense looking squad. Arsenal will be without Takehiro Tomiyasu and new signing Jurrien Timber for this game so will be slightly weaker defensively. The Gunners have won both games narrowly and shown some defensive frailties during those two fixtures which Fulham could exploit.

How do we prepare?
It's not going to be easy but we've got to give it a go right? Here's how I'd line-up.

I would make three changes from the Brentford game starting in defence with Calvin Bassey. Albeit stupid, Ream is now suspended following his red card against Brentford and Marco Silva stated in his press conference that the Nigerian international will start on Saturday. Elsewhere, Joao Palhinha has to come in. Lukic has been good but Arsenal are going to bombard us with attack after attack and Palhinha's tough tackling could be the difference in nicking an unlikely point.

The third and final change comes in attack with Carlos Vinicius coming in for Raul Jimenez. I want to give Jimenez a chance but he was extremely poor last week, losing the ball 17 times and winning just two of his nine aerial duels. I think Vinicius deserves a shot; he was decent enough in the back end of last season and proved that he could score a goal against the big sides. I would've also brought Willian in for De Cordova-Reid as his technical ability could've been crucial on the counter but Marco Silva has claimed the Brazilian is a doubt.

The verdict
I'm glad we're getting this one out the way and while Arsenal haven't been majorly convincing so far, I'm struggling to see how Fulham get anything out of this one. No Willian/a proven goal-scorer will leave Fulham weak in that final third and I think the Arsenal onslaught will just be too much for us.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Fulham: The PERFECT defence returns
Arsenal hosts Fulham in gameweek 3 of the 2023/24 Premier League season. With two consecutive wins on the bounce, Mikel Arteta is seeking nothing but perfection as he plots his strategy for this London derby. With that in mind, here's my Arsenal predicted lineup.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Fulham
The goalkeeper is an easy shout. While David Raya does provide some healthy competition to Aaron Ramsdale, I can't see Mikel Arteta switching his goalkeeper in the Premier League. Therefore, Ramsdale gets the nod in goal.

For the right-back role, there is no choice except Ben White. While it's not his natural position, it feels like it should be given he spent all of last season there. Bear in mind, Tomiyasu is suspended and Timber is injured.

This means that there will be a change to the starting eleven in terms of the centre backs. With White at full-back, the perfect centre-back partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel returns. Saliba has played excellently so far this season and Gabriel did well when coming off the bench against Crystal Palace.

Another player who came off the bench against Crystal Palace was Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Ukraine international proved he is ready for match fitness, so I think he'll start in this match.

With Gabriel and Zinny returning to the defence, this means Thomas Partey can play in the midfield again, which let's face it, he was doing anyway even when listed as a full-back. His two midfield partners are easy as they're the first names on the team sheet: Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Again, Bukayo Saka will get the nod while Eddie Nketiah is in superb form so will retain his place as a striker. There's always a toss up for the left-wing role, but I can't see Gabriel Martinelli being dropped, particularly as he was unfairly subbed off on Monday night.

Predicted Arsenal lineup: Ramsdale, White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli

Fulham XI vs Arsenal: Palhinha injury latest, predicted lineup and confirmed team news
The Brazilian featured off the bench against Brentford but is still struggling with a muscle injury

Willian is a doubt for Fulham's visit to the Emirates this weekend due to a muscle injury.

The former Arsenal player may miss the chance to face his old club due to an achilles strain that began in pre-season, according to manager Marco Silva.

Joao Palhinha, however, could make his return from a shoulder injury.

"Not different news from last week", Silva said about Fulham's fitness ahead of their meeting with Mikel Arteta's side.

"We had some players on the bench last game because they were not fully fit for the 90 minutes. It's good to see some of them coming back and training with the team. We have a slight doubt on Willian. Joao [Palhinha] had all the week with his teammates.

"Willian had some problems during the pre-season in his achilles. It's something about the intensity of the pre-season and starting the pre-season late, because he hadn't signed the contract by the time pre-season started. The impact of the first sessions made a huge impact on both achilles."

Silva added: "We are treating him. Let's hope if he's not going to be involved against Arsenal, the next game he can be involved. It's not something really serious."

Elsewhere, Tim Ream will miss the match after his sending off against Brentford last week, with Silva confirming new signing Calvin Bassey will start instead.

Predicted Fulham XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Wilson, Pereira, Decordova-Reid; Jimenez

Injuries: None

Doubts: Willian

Time and date: 3pm BST on Saturday, August 26, 2023

Venue: Emirates Stadium

'Doing everything they can': Club are desperately trying to stop Liverpool signing their £17m player – journalist
Liverpool are circling around some of the Premier League's best midfielders like sharks in an ocean, and the potential selling clubs are starting to panic.

The Reds have been liked to the likes of Cheick Doucoure and Joao Palhinha throughout the summer, and as we get to crunch time, Crystal Palace and Fulham are trying to bat the Merseyside club away.

According to Dean Jones, speaking on The Done Deal Show, Fulham are doing everything they can to keep Liverpool away from Palhinha by pricing him out of such a move.

Fulham trying their hardest
Jones shared what he knows about the £17m midfielder.

"Obviously Palhinha they have looked at a few times now, Fulham are just doing everything they can to price him out and push Liverpool away, because if Fulham lose Palhinha our season is dead and we will probably be relegated to be honest, I can't fathom that," Jones said.

Disaster
To put it bluntly, Fulham, quite simply, can't afford to lose Palhinha this summer.

The Whites have already lost their most important player in Aleksandar Mitrovic, and if Palhinha goes too, as Jones says, they will be in massive trouble.

The west London club are absolutely doing the right thing in pricing the Portuguese star out of a move, and, interestingly, the player himself hasn't kicked up a fuss and tried to force anything this summer.

Palhinha has looked as happy as ever at Craven Cottage, and it doesn't appear as though this speculation has affected him at all.

It would be a massive surprise if the midfielder were to leave Fulham at this late stage of the window.

Duvan Zapata: Fulham interested in signing Atalanta striker and make Eric Dier inquiry

Duvan Zapata's proposed move to Roma has broken down and Fulham are now considering an approach; Fulham recently sold striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for a club-record fee; the club wants to sign as many as five players before the end of the transfer window

Fulham are interested in signing Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.

A proposed move for the Colombia international to join Roma has broken down and Fulham are now considering an approach.

Marco Silva needs a new striker after selling Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for a club-record fee.

Zapata is high on the list of striker options Fulham have in mind ahead of Transfer Deadline Day on September 1.

The club want to sign as many as five players including at least one winger, at least one full-back, a centre-back should Tosin Adarabioyo leave, and possibly a midfielder.

Fulham are in advanced talks with Leicester over the signing of Timothy Castagne, who can play at both right and left-back.

Fulham have also made an inquiry into signing centre-back Eric Dier from Tottenham and believe he is an option for them ahead of the deadline.

Spurs have been one of the clubs keen on Adarabioyo and a deal involving an exchange between the two players, as well as some money to Tottenham, has been explored.

However, Monaco have been pushing the hardest to sign Adarabioyo so far.

Roma have turned their attentions to completing a deal for Sardar Azmoun at Bayer Leverkusen following the collapse of talks for Zapata.

Marco Silva insists Moise Kean 'is NOT a solution' for Fulham amid reports linking the former Everton striker with a move to Craven Cottage

Fulham were linked with Moise Kean after losing Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi
But Silva, who managed the striker at Everton, says they are not keen on him

Marco Silva has revealed Fulham are not interested in signing Moise Kean amid reports linking the striker with a move to Craven Cottage.

Kean will best be remembered by English top-flight supporters from his hugely unsuccessful first stint at Everton.

The 23-year-old centre forward moved to Goodison Park for £27.5m but endured a torrid time of things on Merseyside and was subsequently sent back to Italy.

Recent reports had suggested Fulham were keen to bring Kean back to the Premier League after Aleksandar Mitrovic's move to Al Hilal, but Silva says he is 'not a solution' for the club.

Speaking ahead of his side's clash with Arsenal, the Cottagers boss said: 'Moise Kean is not a solution for us. I can confirm to you that is not a player we are looking for.'

But Marco Silva, who managed the striker at Everton, says Fulham are not keen on signing him

Silva managed the Italy international during their short spell together at Everton in the 2018-2019 season.

Kean spent one season in the English top-flight but struggled to impress and was sent out on loan to PSG for a season. He then secured temporary deal back to Juventus before making it permanent in March.

Kean has so far made 103 appearances across two spells for Juventus, scoring just 22 goals and struggling to build on his early-career reputation as one of Italy's brightest young prospects.

There have also been reports of attitude issues that have followed the player throughout his career so far with Kean recently denying he was refusing to play for Italy's under 21 side due to a lack of motivation.

Fulham chief, Silva, will be hoping the next striker he brings in won't carry the same disciplinary issues that Mitrovic did as he tried to manoeuvre a exit.

Former Wolves striker Raul Jimenez has already moved to Craven Cottage this summer but Fulham look short of attacking impetus after scoring just once in their two opening Premier League fixtures.

Revealed: Fulham loan update after £13m paperwork filed
Fulham have been able to write off £13million worth of loans by converting it into shares, Football Insider can reveal.

The London club filed a new Companies House submission on Wednesday (23 August) showing that 13 million new shares had been allotted at £1 each.

The filed documents also state that the new shares are set off against related debt at the club.

Fulham's 2021/22 accounts showed that the club's gross debt sat at only £1million, with owner Shahid Khan converting the majority of his loans into equity.

A similar Companies House submission was filed in April this year, with Fulham again writing off debt with 16million shares allotted at £1 each.

Much of the club's debt will likely come from the ongoing development of their Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage.

Fulham were dealt a blow this week after learning that the contractors responsible for the construction of the stand – The Buckingham Group – filed for administration.

As a result, all construction has halted and Fulham now face further delays before being able to open the stand to fans with tickets now not expected to be on sale until the start of the 2024/25 season.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (18 August) that Fulham will have spent over £120million on the stand's development by the time it is completed.

By writing off club loans, owner Khan will assist the club's day-to-day finances by potentially eliminating any interest costs incurred.

Silva admits it'll be 'really difficult' for Fulham to find the 'right' striker to replace Mitrovic
Marco Silva admitted it will be tough to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic and strengthen his squad as Fulham's pursuit for new players picks up ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

The Cottagers will be without the Serbian striker after he was sold for a club-record fee to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal. This is a blow as he scored 14 goals in the Premier League last season.

Silva hinted Fulham have left it too late to find the right players to fill his squad with just one week remaining before the market closes until January.

"In this moment in the market, I have to say it is really difficult (to sign players) and this is the problem when you leave things until the last week of the market," Silva said.

"I am 100 per cent sure even if we lose an important player for us (Mitrovic) that with time we would be able to sign a player that could help us but right now we are doing the maximum, so let's see if it will be possible.

"Seven players left us at the end of the season and we lost Mitrovic too and we've just signed two so I think it's clear to people how many players we need.

"If we are to sign a striker it needs to be the right one, it has to be someone who can have the right impact in our squad with the conditions to help us, this is the main thing for me."

Fulham meet Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday in search of their first Premier League win over the Gunners since 2012.

Silva earmarked their opponents as one of the best teams in the competition and highlighted the size of the challenge at hand this weekend.

"Last year they played at a very good level, they are one of the best teams in the competition, they showed that last season and they will again this season, they are a tough team and at home even more with all the support which will make it a good challenge for us," Silva added.

Fulham line up a move for AZ Alkmaar defender Yukinari Sugawara after Kenny Tete emerged as a shock target for Bayern Munich - with Japan international valued at £10m

Fulham defender Kenny Tete has received shock interest from Bayern Munich
The Cottagers are exploring a move for Yukinari Sugawara as a contingency plan

Fulham are exploring a move for AZ Alkmaar defender Yukinari Sugawara as they weigh up contingency plans for Kenny Tete's possible departure.

The Cottagers have a firm interest in the Japan international, who is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League club.

An agreement on personal terms is unlikely to be an issue though there is yet to be deal between both clubs.

Right-back Sugawara, 23, is valued at a mimimum £10million by the Eredivise club.

Tete is emerging as a target for Bayern Munich and Fulham are looking at replacements for the Dutchman.

We get to travel to Arsenal for a 3 o'clock kick off
(http://www.friendsoffulham.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2324-ArsenalA.png)
Lets forget about the Brentford game, just a really, really "bad day at the office"? as Gentleman Jim said for some reason Brentford appear to have "an Indian sign" over us, apart from the play off game they always appear to have the upper hand?
Tim Ream getting sent off was the cherry on top, the red card means that he's unavailable for this game, at least we've got Bassey.

Talking of unavailable, Mitro finally got his move to Saudi, personally I wish him well and thank him for the 5 1/2 seasons, now we have to face life without our talisman.

Last season's fixture was an unlucky one for us, we really should have come away with something, perhaps we can pull off a surprise this time?

Our recent record against the Gunners is woeful with 2 wins, 11 losses and 5 draws

Will we get to see the shocking pink away kit for the first time?

assuming no more additions, departures or injuries my team would be...

Nottingham Forest-linked player could now end up signing for Fulham
Nottingham Forest-linked defender Ismail Jakobs could now end up at Premier League rivals Fulham before the transfer window ends. The Reds had been linked with a move to sign the player but interest has recently gone cold.

According to TEAMtalk, the Cottagers are now set to go full steam ahead to try and sign the Monaco performer. The transfer window closes on Friday next week and Marco Silva is keen to strengthen before it slams shut.

Jakobs was on the shortlist at Forest a while back. Forest did instigate talks with Moncao but it was later claimed that they'd walked away due to the valuation placed on his head by the Ligue 1 outfit.

The 24-year-old has been with Monaco since 2021 when he signed from Bundesliga outfit Cologne. He has made 82 appearances but could now be on the move should a Premier League club match his valuation.

Fulham have endured a pretty turbulent summer on the transfer front. Their top marksman Alexsandar Mitrovic has departed and they look like they will be quite busy until the transfer deadline.

Jay Stansfield joins Blues on loan!
Blues are excited to announce the signing of Jay Stansfield.

The 20-year-old has joined Birmingham City on a season-long loan from Premier League Fulham, subject to League and FA clearance, with the Club beating more than a dozen other teams to his signature.

A dynamic and versatile forward, as a first-year scholar, he joined the Cottagers from Exeter City for an undisclosed fee and has represented the West London outfit on eight occasions in senior football to date.

He spent last term back at Exeter, making 39 appearances across all competitions for the Grecians as they made a solid return to Sky Bet League One, assisted by Stansfield's nine goals.

Speaking to BluesTV upon the completion of the deal, he talked of his satisfaction at getting the move secured.

"I am buzzing. It has been a long time coming. I have been in contact with a lot of people in the last three or four weeks and I made the decision to come here.

"It is a very family club and I can't wait to get started."

When Arsenal must register new signing for debut vs Fulham if deal is agreed for next transfer
Arsenal are back in Premier League action against Fulham on Saturday afternoon, but will manager Mikel Arteta be handing out any more debuts at the Emirates Stadium?

Mikel Arteta has handed out competitive debuts to all but one of his Arsenal summer signings so far this season and whilst it seems unlikely the number will increase against Fulham at the weekend, it can't be ruled out just yet.

As the Gunners kicked off their 2023/24 campaign with a win over Nottingham Forest almost a fortnight ago, it was noticeable that the Spaniard opted to field Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice in the starting line-up, although there was one downside from the afternoon with the Dutchman sustaining a serious knee injury.

That left the aforementioned pair to fly the flag for Arsenal's summer signings against Crystal Palace on Monday night with the club's £105million record signing impressing many. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen when David Raya - signed on a season-long loan deal from Brentford - gets his chance.

With that said, even if the Spaniard doesn't replace Aaron Ramsdale in between the sticks at the Emirates Stadium, there is still a chance that Arteta will have the option of handing out another Arsenal debut against the Cottagers on Saturday - but only if one condition is met around 24 hours before kick-off.

Now, the talk this week surrounding the north London outfit has been outgoings rather than incomings as that is sporting director Edu Gaspar's main priority at the moment rather than pressing ahead with plans to wrap up the club's fifth signing of the summer transfer window.

Although, if the Brazilian and Arteta have been working on a deal behind the scenes and something is agreed upon, there's a scenario - albeit an unlikely one - where a new signing will be available for selection on Saturday as Arsenal go in search of making it three wins from three at the start of the Premier League season.

As per the Premier League regulations, the Gunners would have to register any new signing(s), by 12pm on Friday, August 25 to have them available for selection against Marco Silva's side.

A statement reads: 'Subject to the provisions of Rule V.1, the deadline for receipt by the Board of all duly completed documents required by these Rules to effect the registration of a Player shall be 12 noon on the last Working Day before the date of the first League Match in which the Club making the application intends him to play, save that the international transfer certificate and evidence of eligibility to take up employment in the United Kingdom (in both cases if applicable) may be provided thereafter (but must be provided before the Player is eligible to play for a Club in a League Match).'

As mentioned above, Given Arsenal's focus since signing Raya just under a week ago has been player sales, the fact that no deal for a potential incoming appears imminent at the moment indicates, barring a major surprise, Arteta will choose from the same pool of players, aside from the suspended Takehiro Tomiyasu - that featured against Palace for the game at home to Fulham.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Fulham - Premier League

A big chance for Nketiah to show his worth
Arsenal looking for a third Premier League win in a row
Zinchenko makes his return to the team

Arsenal have got a 100% record so far in their attempted charge towards the Premier League title and they will be expecting to extend that when they host Fulham at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta is without a few players that he would ideally have in his starting eleven, the headline absentee being Jurrien Timber. Takehiro Tomiyasu is suspended and Folarin Balogun is also out with an injury. Gabriel Jesus is at least back in training but is still unlikely to play.

Having struggled to beat Crystal Palace on Monday night, Arteta will want to see a more coherent display from his team in front of their own fans on Saturday afternoon.

Here is the team that the Spanish coach could choose to get the better of Fulham.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Fulham (4-3-3)
GK: Aaron Ramsdale - Despite the arrival of David Raya, Ramsdale is expected to keep his place in between the sticks for the visit of Fulham.

RB: Ben White - The former Brighton man seems to have been fully converted into a right back at this stage and he is doing what Arteta requires each week. He is strong with the ball at his feet and has the stamina to be a threat at both ends of the pitch.

CB: William Saliba - One of the best defenders in the Premier League, it would take a lot for the Frenchman to be dropped from Arteta's side for any league game this season.

CB: Gabriel - Much like Saliba, Gabriel's place in this team is secure and this is one of the most settled centre-back partnerships in the Premier League.

LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko - The Ukranian is back in the side following his injury and he will take the place that has been vacated by Jurrien Timber and then Takehiro Tomiyasu.

CM: Martin Odegaard - A mainstay in the Arsenal midfield, no team likes to face Odegaard and he is going to be a real threat to Fulham throughout the game.

CM: Declan Rice - Rice seems to have settled into life at Arsenal seamlessly and it already seems unlikely that he is going to be deemed a waste of money.

CM: Kai Havertz - Likely to have a go in midfield here, Havertz has got a lot of positions in this Arsenal team to choose from but regardless of where he plays, fans will want to see some goals.

RW: Bukayo Saka - Probably the most important player at Arsenal, on and off the field at this stage, Saka will continue to do his thing on the right wing.

ST: Eddie Nketiah - This is an incredible opportunity for Nketiah because with Gabriel Jesus and Folarin Balogun injured, and Havertz in midfield, Nketiah is getting the chance to show why he should be the main striker at Arsenal. Jesus is back in training, so the pressure is on now.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli - As each week goes by, it seems more and more clear that this is Martinelli's position to lose at Arsenal.
