I'm completely speechless...Rodak in goal for starters...
Well, that lineup is... interesting?
Rodak has been pretty good in the cup competitions so far so shouldn't be a problem.
Defence looks strong, although Ream is a slight worry for me. Not because of his ability, but because he hasn't played long.
Chance for Lukic to go back to his performances from the start of the season (or at least hopefully improvement on that recent cameo). Chance for Reed as well. Despite him having a good game or two, I think his performance levels have dropped this season.
Andreas, Wilson and BDR, we know what we'll get more or less.
And finally, Muniz, who also gets his chance. I feel like if he scores a goal or two and gets his confidence back, he could still be a real asset this season.

Me neither 🤣 That was what the first part of my post was about. I just tried to find some positives. If, and it's a big if, all of our players who are out of form suddenly play well, we will win.
you never know if its still close on 65-70 mins maybe the impact subs can make an impact
Rule number 1.
Don't give the fffing ball away cheaply!
Poor from Bobby there. Got away with one
BDR & Reed already giving it away! ::angry::

I'm really not happy about his reduced role in the team as to me he is one of the top RBs in the league.
It's all Fulham at the moment.
Playing really well, just lacking that final ball.
Good try there by Muniz.
Quote from: love4ffc on January 27, 2024, 07:33:53 PMGood try there by Muniz.
He's been playing really well so far.
Muniz just not built for this league sorry but he is whack
Playing well- better than I expected but our lack of a cutting edge is evident. Muniz, however, is playing better than I have seen him play. He is more involved in the game than usual and showing more energy.
We need a goal. Obvious comment of course, but if we don't get one soon we will run out of steam and Newcastle will grow in confidence.
Damn, Harry not looking good from that last tackle. He has looked really good. Started right where he left off from the last game.
Handball maybe?
EDIT: Seema like a clear handball. Should be chalked off but you never know with these referees.
Ridiculous decision
What a joke
goal given
That is a ridiculous decision. Handball, clear as day.
Handball and if that was the other way it would be disallowed.
Watch it get more and more desperate. Like me.
Not for me dude smashed the ball right into him how is that handball. Just show some balls and play a full strength team Marco people paying £40 for a ticket. Don't wanna see Muniz and Rodak
Same old, same old.
Mind you, confusion in defence had a big part to play in that goal
This week its not a hand ball next week when it happens to us next week it will be!
This is the same VAR as in the Man City game, where the offside was given, btw.
Marco will be furious and might well blow his top again! With justification.
We do seem to faff about with the ball and lose it more than other teams!
the ball strikes their arm while in the midst of a goal scoring move, regardless of arm position, intent, or any other qualifiers, a goal shall be chalked off.
Current hand ball rule so why was that allowed
Well offside. But Rodak beaten. Food for thought.
Hopefully Harry's shoulder is not serious.

VAR is just a lottery. The rules change every time they look at it.
No goal , but we're getting cut to pieces by their breaks.

Apparently that only applies if it's the goal scorer who it touches. Change of rules. Probably just for this match!

Didnt it change after we had a goal chalked off and now its only the player that scores it handballs it
Great run by Pereira, but why didn't he pass?!
Unlucky in certain situations and a goal that we conceded shouldn't have counted.
Tete and Muniz the stand out performers so far, imo.
Hopefully Harry's injury isn't serious.

Yeah I think Josh Maja had a goal ruled out against Spurs because a clearance had smashed into Lemina's hand at close range before falling to Maja. Lo and behold the following day they made a tweak of the rules
Looking through my FFC biased glasses but when did we last get the benefit of a dodgy decision or a simple slice of luck?
Quote from: ron on January 27, 2024, 07:47:13 PMNo goal , but we're getting cut to pieces by their breaks.
I don't think we are being cut o pieces on the break, it is more a case of our continually coughing up the ball to them by messing around just outside our own box. The VAR decision was a disgraceful travesty, but the original corner was caused by us dicking around unnecessarily yet again. It is driving me mad.
Reed seems well of the standard required
Muniz tries his heart out, and can't be faulted for effort, but he does not have it at this level. Lee Dixon was right when he said that any half decent centre forward would have been busting a gut to get to the right place to that ball across by the box by Tete.
Brown envelopes for VAR officials again. Let's tweak the rules against little Fulham again
I am quite a phlegmatic character, and I have seen us on the wrong end of bad and unlucky decisions over the years, but that one has infuriated me. The ball would not have gone anywhere near Longstaff without the deflection of the other player's arm. It takes a lot for me to say this, but the VAR official is not fit for the job.

He is improving but still lacking at times. Positionally he doesn't get in the best positions and still looks off the pace at times.
I know it was offside, but that finish by Willian was pure class.
Hopefully a sign of things to come this half.

Time to stick Diop up front
Finding it frustreting to watch. The useless referees in England and the English fa making up their own rules. The goal was handball in the build up, no argument. Where was var to check the offside given to Fulham, looked border line onside to me. Absolutely robbed so far. Time to recover, playing well.
We are playing some fantastic stuff at times. Fine margins!
well on top at the minute
Alas, this is turning into a poor performance, given that Newcastle are no great shakes.
We can win this. Raul for Muniz and perhaps TC for Lukic

I am sick of Silva delaying obvious subs.
Muniz offers nothing. He should have been taken off for Jiminez 5 mins ago as it became more and more obvious that we have no end product.
It was inevitable they were going to score again as a result of us wasting a good period of pressure.
So frustrating - all over them, no cutting edge and too many wayward passes especially in the final third.

Jimenez should have done better with those two headers. Tete put in two excellent crosses.
There's a fundamental flaw in our attacking play, we show glimpses of attacking with pace but any opposition that fights and chases for every ball like many PL teams do and we back off.
Add in the fact we seem to have no players who actually think they are going to score and are surprised when it happens and we are stuffed.
Its like looking at a painting by numbers picture, it looks neat and tidy but has no real quality!

You might as well get used to it because it's unlikely anyone is coming in. The mediocrity continues.
We are physically lightweight in attack which used to be compensated by he who must not be mentioned. With that sort of attack we will never score from pressure football. Counter attacking football is our forte and plays to our strengths playing forwards into areas where they have space.

Jimenez has now had a decent period of time to recover his old form and hasn't. He had a mini purple patch but that seems to have faded. Sadly I don't think any of our strikers are currently close to the standard we require.
Get rid of Vini and Muniz, sign a quality striker and ok Jimenez would make an acceptable squad cover, perhaps alongside Stansfield.
A lot of criticism here of the strikers but for me it is the lack of creativity and dynamism in midfield that stands out.
Harrison Reed will take up good forward positions but never if he has the ball at his feet. Time and again he refuses to go with the ball and turns back.He induced a groan or two more than usual tonight.
Lukic as usual was tidy but slow and ineffective.Zero creative spark but we should all know that by now.
Very disappointed but have to say again, Newcastle first goal was a foul and I am SICK of var and referees in England now. It seems like the FA and the premier have decided to make up their own rules. The different interpretations for similar events is beyond belief. It is possible to watch 2 games in one day and see completely different ref interpretations for same situations..

Good teams find a way to win.
We had our chance earlier this week.
We wouldn't of scored till 2025 that's how awful our finishing was
Fail to make one of two good signings this window and we could easily be fighting to avoid being dragged into the relegation zone. We have enough class to avoid relegation but with better recruitment we could have kicked on.

19k attendance. The clubs statement that they "are satisfied with that given the run of home games and that the tickets were reasonably priced" (paraphrased quote of what was just read out on ITV) is absolutely tone deaf. Much more than the performance, that arrogance makes me feel like the club is dead set on the wrong path.
