Aston Villa dealt blow as Premier League rivals now 'pursuing' £20m attacker
Aston Villa are set to face added competition to sign an Arsenal attacker as Fulham have reportedly entered the race.
Gunners winger Emile Smith-Rowe is expected to be on the move during the summer transfer window after another season of frustration, much of which was spent watching on from the sidelines.
The 23-year-old winger enjoyed a stunning 2021/22 season as he netted 10 goals in 33 Premier League matches but such success hasn't been replicated since. Smith-Rowe, not helped by a string of injuries, hasn't scored a single goal for Arsenal since the 4-2 win away at Chelsea in April 2022.
Formerly an England Under-21 international with 16 caps and five goals, Smith-Rowe played just 474 minutes across all competitions last term. Two Premier League assists were contributed but Mikel Arteta preferred rotating Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing. Even Reiss Nelson was ahead in the pecking order.
GIVEMESPORT reported last week that Villa's interest in Smith-Rowe remains following heavy links throughout the last two or three transfer windows. Unai Emery is keen on adding depth in the wide positions and Smith-Rowe, who can play on either flank or as a central attacking midfielder, is said to be appreciated for his versatility.
Competition ramping up for Smith-Rowe
But there's now added competition as The Telegraph reports Fulham have made the signing of Smith-Rowe a priority this summer. Manager Marco Silva, who wants to bolster his forward line, sees the Arsenal winger as an excellent option – especially as he could be available for as little as £20 million.
The Cottagers already have Harry Wilson, Adama Traore, Willian, Alex Iwobi and Bobby De Cordova-Reid in the wide areas but Smith-Rowe's agility and low centre of gravity would provide a different outlet. Fulham's attack is also ageing, so adding in the younger legs of Smith-Rowe would be highly beneficial.

Fulham eye Emile Smith Rowe as Arsenal identify four fringe players available for offers
Gunners academy graduate barely featured in 2023-24 campaign
Fulham have identified Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe as a summer transfer target.
Arsenal will listen to offers for Smith Rowe and the 23-year-old could seek more regular football after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
Smith Rowe made just 13 Premier League appearances for Arsenal during an injury-hit season, 10 of those coming as a substitute.
Arsenal will also consider offers for other fringe players like Eddie Nketiah, Aaron Ramsdale and Kieran Tierney.
Ambitious manager Marco Silva is pushing the Fulham board to back him in the transfer market this summer and wants to strengthen his attack.
Out-of-contract Willian will sit down with Silva to discuss his future this summer, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid will also leave unless he signs a new contract.
Centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo is joining Chelsea on a free.
Smith Rowe, who has three caps for England, saw a January loan move to West Ham fall through and both the Hammers and Aston Villa wanted to sign him last summer.
While Smith Rowe has two years left on his deal, a sale would boost Arsenal's finances as it would represent a pure accounting profit in terms of league financial rules given he is an academy product.

Fulham and Crystal Palace set sights on Luton Town man
Luton Town defender Teden Mengi is on the radar of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen, as detailed in a report by The Mirror.
Luton Town are expected to face a battle to keep hold of the centre-back this summer following their relegation from the Premier League. He joined the Hatters last year following their promotion from the Championship.
Mengi, 22, impressed for the Bedfordshire outfit in the last campaign and is one of their most prized assets now. He caught the eye despite the fact they ended up in the bottom three along with Burnley and Sheffield United.
In this latest update regarding his future by The Mirror, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Leverkusen are all believed to be admirers ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The latter have made the headlines over recent times after winning the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal double under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.
Luton Town man eyed by Fulham and Crystal Palace
Mengi remains under contract at Luton Town for next term so they are under no pressure to cash in on him.
He has proved to be a shrewd signing by the Hatters and has adapted well to life at Kenilworth Road.
The Mancunian proved he is capable of playing at the top level and could be thrown a lifeline by either Fulham or Crystal Palace.
He started his career at Manchester United and rose up through the academy ranks of the North West giants.
Mengi was a regular for the Red Devils at various different youth levels before going on to play twice for their first-team.
The ex-England youth international had loan spells away in the Football League at Derby County and Birmingham City to get some experience under his belt.
He then left Old Trafford permanently last year and has since made Luton Town his home.
What next for Luton Town man?
The Hatters would have a decision to make if an offer comes in for Mengi in the near future.
They won't want to lose him but it would be hard for them to stand in his way if a team from the division lodges a move.

Fulham make Arsenal midfielder 'transfer priority'
Fulham identify Emile Smith Rowe as leading target in summer transfer window
Marco Silva keen to bolster attacking options
Midfielder struggled to earn game time at Arsenal during 2023/24 season
Fulham have identified Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe as one of their top priority signings for this summer's summer transfer window and are readying an offer for the midfielder, according to a report.
The 2023/24 season proved a difficult one for Smith Rowe, who recorded just 19 appearances across all competitions for the Gunners. He suffered several injuries throughout the campaign, and struggled to earn his place in the starting lineup.
The Daily Telegraph report Smith Rowe could be offered a route out of Arsenal as Fulham are keen on offering the midfielder a move to Craven Cottage.
Fulham are looking to strengthen in attacking areas in the transfer window. Brazilian veteran Willian is considering offers from Saudi Arabia and Bobby De Cordova-Reid's future also remains uncertain, with the 31-year-old set to be out of contract in June. The latter recently been offered a new two-year contract, but reports state that an agreement has not yet been reached.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are open to offers for a range of squad players this summer, with Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah joining Smith Rowe in searching for a new club to play regular football.
A sale for Smith Rowe would prove even more profitable for the club, as the playmaker is a graduate of Arsenal's academy system. He currently has two-years left on his contract, after signing an extension in 2021.
It remains unknown whether Smith Rowe will be open to leaving his boyhood club, after previously choosing to stay and fight for his place in the first team. However, if Arsenal wish to afford new players in the summer, they could be forced into a sale.
Smith Rowe became a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium during Arsenal's resurgent 2021/22 season, forcing his way into the England setup. Since then, he has played only 33 games for the Gunners, with most of those appearances coming from the bench.

Tony Cascarino shares the major concern he has about Tosin Adarabioyo after watching him
Tony Cascarino has one huge concern about Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of his move to Chelsea.
Chelsea have beaten Newcastle United in the race for Tosin Adarabioyo, with Fabrizio Romano recently sharing how.
The central defender will be joining the Blues on a free transfer, so he could end up being a bargain.
He has Premier League experience and is great in the air at 6ft 5in.
However, Cascarino has a warning for his former club about him.
Tony Cascarino's main concern about Tosin Adarabioyo ahead of Chelsea transfer
After watching him play at Fulham this season, Cascarino has doubts about a particular area of Adarabioyo's game.
Speaking about the 26-year-old on talkSPORT, he said: "Great aerially, really good. I mean, you would expect it. He is 6ft 4in, 6ft 5in, very dominant in that area.
"Still not convinced when he is on the ball, with making mistakes.
"I have seen him do that a few times for Fulham over the season. Chelsea are just looking at it as a free transfer and they do need bodies in that because [Levi] Colwill was injured as well during the season, [Wesley] Fofana whole year, they do need cover or someone to step in and play."
Tosin Adarabioyo still worth a punt
Even if Adarabioyo does make mistakes on the ball, he still looks worth a go if you are Chelsea.
He is going to cost nothing, while the club may feel that they need a new centre-half after Thiago Silva's exit.
As well as that, the Fulham star does have some strengths, such as his aerial ability.
As per FBref, Adarabioyo has ranked in the 88th percentile for aerials won among centre-backs over the last year.
If Trevoh Chalobah was definitely staying, then perhaps Adarabioyo would not be needed. But the 24-year-old could be sold this summer amid links to Manchester United.
Chalobah following Silva out of the exit door, then, would make room for the arrival of another central defender if there is not enough already.
Wesley Fofana's injury record remains a concern. Another serious injury next season, and Chelsea could be left with just Benoit Badiashile, Colwill and Axel Disasi if they do not go on to sign Adarabioyo.

Fulham prioritising summer move for Emile Smith Rowe
Fulham will reportedly prioritise signing 23-year-old Arsenal homegrown midfielder Emile Smith Rowe in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, Emile Smith Rowe is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on signing a versatile midfielder in the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old Arsenal homegrown player has thus emerged as a target for the West London club.
Emile Smith Rowe and his topsy-turvy Arsenal ride
Emile Smith Rowe has seen his progress come to a grinding halt in the last two seasons. A native of London, the Englishman has been with Arsenal since 2010 and rose through the ranks at the North London club. He made his first-team debut for Arsenal as an 18-year-old in September 2018 but rose in prominence after Mikel Arteta took charge of the first team.
However, persistent fitness issues have scuppered Smith Rowe's progress, and he has barely featured for Arsenal in the last two seasons. The 23-year-old homegrown player managed less than 500 minutes of game time across 19 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two assists.
So, it is hardly surprising that Smith Rowe faces an uncertain future at Arsenal heading into the summer transfer window. Recent reports have claimed that the Gunners have identified the versatile English midfielder as one of the candidates for their upcoming summer fire sale. Such a situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several clubs, including Fulham.
From North London to West London?
Fulham's interest in Emile Smith Rowe is understandable. The 23-year-old Arsenal homegrown player can be a top-notch addition to the offensive department amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Willian and Bobby De Cordova-Reid. In addition, he can be an option for the central roles.
So, the Englishman has emerged on Fulham's radar, with the West London club identifying him as a priority target for the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Arsenal will unlikely stand in Smith Rowe's way if a suitor can present an attractive offer.
Recent reports have claimed that the 23-year-old homegrown player wants to stay at Arsenal despite falling in stature at the Emirates. So, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Smith Rowe amid the links with Fulham.

Our players out on loan: keep, re-loan, release, or sell?
Jack Stroudley looks at the current crop of Fulham players out on loan.
As the dust settles on the recently-finished campaign, all focus and attention will now turn to next season and how Fulham can improve. We'll have to be active in the transfer market, of course, but what about those currently under contract the club? I'm going to look over those who were sent to other clubs on loan to work out if any of them have a future at Fulham.
George Wickens
George Wickens joined Ross County on loan in January and soon caught the eye of those up in Scotland following two penalty saves during a 1-0 defeat at Celtic. The 22-year-old played 15 times for the Staggies and has impressed during his time in Scotland. I can't see him featuring much for Fulham next season with the likes of Leno and Benda at the club (I'm assuming Rodak will probably depart) so I think another loan move could be beneficial to see what his true ceiling is.
Decision: re-loan
Luca Ashby-Hammond
Another keeper who was sent out on loan this year was Luca Ashby-Hammond, who spent the season with Notts County in League Two. Ashby-Hammond found minutes difficult to come by in the early stages of the season with no appearances until November. Since then, the 23-year-old has played 18 times, including all of the final six games. Ashby-Hammond is contracted with Fulham until 2025 and personally I can't see him being involved with the first team, so cashing in for some money could be way to go this summer.
Decision: sell
Terence Kongolo
Admit it: you forgot Terence Kongolo was still contracted at Fulham didn't you? The Dutch central defender has spent this season in Austria playing for Rapid Vienna. During his time at the club, he has played 12 times and been sent off twice. It's once again been a campaign to forget for Kongolo, and with his contract running out this summer, he's surely going to be out the door.
Decision: release
Kevin Mbabu
Following a disappointing first campaign with Fulham, Swiss international Kevin Mbabu was loaned to Bundesliga side Augsburg last summer and has been a key player throughout the campaign. The 29-year-old made 25 appearances this season for "Fuggerstädter", picking up two assists in the process. Mbabu seems to have found his feet in Germany and with one year left on his deal, I could see Fulham cashing in given that both Tete and Castagne are both better than him.
Decision: sell
Tyrese Francois
Another player who, if I'm being honest, I forgot was on the books at Fulham. Francois has spent the second half of this season out on loan in Denmark playing for Vejle BK. During his time there, the 23-year-old featured 15 times, picking up two assists. Francois's contract runs out this summer and I think it's time for all parties to move on. We're now a mid-table Premier League side and need to be cutthroat when it comes to cutting down the squad, and Francois simply isn't good enough.
Decision: release
Kieron Bowie
Kieron Bowie spent a second consecutive season playing for Northampton Town following their promotion to League One. The Scottish attacker was crucial to the Cobblers staying up comfortably with a 14th place finish. The 21-year-old scored nine times and picked up six assists across the season and is well loved by Northampton Town fans. He's certainly one to keep an eye on and I think a loan to the Championship is the next logical step for his development.
Decision: re-loan
Luke Harris
Another youngster to keep an eye on is Welshman Luke Harris who spent the second half of the season at Exeter City in League One. Harris featured twenty-one times for the Grecians, picking up four goals and two assists. The 19-year-old was also called up to the Welsh squad for the first time. Harris should've spent the whole campaign out on loan but was allegedly kept by Marco Silva for the first half of the season due to Joao Palhinha's uncertain future. That being said, Harris needs some more time to develop in the lower leagues but is one for the future.
Decision: re-loan
Terry Ablade
Terry Ablade also spent this season in League One playing for newly promoted Carlisle United, but didn't have a campaign to remember. Ablade made 12 appearances off the bench, notching up a combined 255 minutes of football and not scoring a single goal for the eventually relegated Carlisle. The 22-year-old's contract runs out in 2025 and I can't really see much of a future for him at Fulham.
Decision: sell
Carlos Vinicius
Following the January signing of Armando Broja, Brazilian forward Carlos Vinicius was sent on loan to Turkish league side Galatasaray, but similarly to Ablade, had a loan spell to forget. Vinicius scored just one goal in 10 appearances for "Cimbom Aslanlar" with the Turkish side stating they don't wish to make him a permanent signing. I can't see much of a future at Fulham for Vinicius and with a year left on his deal, now seems a good time to try and recoup some money.
Decision: sell
Martial Godo
Yet another youngster who spent this season playing his football in League One was Martial Godo, who impressed at Wigan Athletic. The 21-year-old racked up eight goal contributions across the League One season. Godo also played all 90 minutes during their 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup. Godo's contract runs out in 2025 so I think another year on loan for his development would be beneficial.
Decision: re-loan
Olly Sanderson
The 20-year-old striker started the campaign with newly-promoted National League side Oxford City. While the Hoops struggled, Sanderson was a bright spark throughout and scored nine times during the first half of the season. Fulham then decided to re-loan him to League Two with Sutton United and while the Us struggled, Sanderson managed to score four goals for the eventually relegated side. I think another League Two loan is on the horizon.
Decision: re-loan
Jay Stansfield
Jay is probably the most talked about of our current loaned players and for very good reason. After a successful loan at Exeter City, 'Stanno' was sent to Championship Birmingham City for this campaign. It turned out to be a poor campaign for Birmingham but Stansfield was the one bright spark throughout scoring 12 goals for a side that would eventually fall through the Championship trap door. With Marco Silva liking to have three strikers in his squad, surely Stansfield will be one of them?
Decision: keep

Door not closed on Bayern Munich transfer for João Palhinha?
Not even the Fulham star seems to know what is going on heading into the summer's EURO 2024 campaign.
Will Bayern Munich's on-again, off-again flirtation with Fulham destroyer João Palhinha drag on through another transfer window?
Not even Palhinha knows.
"I don't know if it's a closed door or not, everything in football is very uncertain. I can't say it's a closed or open door," the Portuguese international said in recent comments captured by Flashscore.com (via @iMiaSanMia). "I can't put myself in a position like that either. Today I want to focus more on the European Championships because that's the goal, to leave a good impression at the EUROs, and then everything else will follow.
"People already know me. The fact that I'm in the Premier League means I'm in a very big shop window, probably the biggest of them all. The Euros is also a showcase that everyone is following all over the world."
Bayern's interest in Palhinha apparently came from outgoing head coach Thomas Tuchel's desire for a new No. 6 — a wish which the bosses have come to agree with. Now, however, it is Vincent Kompany's show in Bavaria — which means a new leading voice for transfer priorities. Perhaps Pep Guardiola's disciple will restore Manchester City-linked Joshua Kimmich to midfield.
Reading the tea leaves, this almost transfer that wasn't looks increasingly less likely to happen.

Fulham 'willing' to pay £30m to sign former Leeds United man while Everton 'interested' in loan
Fulham are reportedly willing to stump up £30m to sign former Leeds United forward Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal.
Nketiah joined Leeds on loan in 2019, with the intention of developing senior experience that would push him up the pecking order at Arsenal. He was used mostly as an impact substitute by the Whites, returning to his parent club midway through the season.
Although he has since amassed over 150 appearances in an Arsenal shirt, Nketiah has not nailed down a regular starting spot in the frontline. There has been speculation regarding his future for months and it appears he could be on the move this summer.
According to The Sun, Fulham are willing to pay up to £30m for the marksman and are said to be in pole position. Wolves and Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are described as "likely" to provide competition for his signature. In recent months, he has also been linked with Leicester City and Brentford.
Arsenal are said to be reluctant to lose Nketiah, who they have nurtured since he joined the Gunners academy almost a decade ago. Everton are reportedly interested in taking the England-capped forward on loan, which could prove to be an attractive option for Arsenal.
However, selling Nketiah could generate the funds to secure the services of RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko, who the Gunners have been strongly linked with. Meanwhile, for Nketiah himself, regular starts elsewhere could boost his chances of starring for England.

Arsenal 'preparing' swap deal to land £100m Serie A ace as Fulham face bizarre transfer battle
Arsenal appear ready to part with two stars in a bid to win over in-demand striker
This summer, Arsenal will be signing an out-and-out striker. Which striker that is, however, continues to remain a mystery as the club has been heavily linked with moves for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres, Newcastle Alexander Isak, Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee and Brentford's Ivan Toney.
However, another name has re-emerged in the past few days with the Gunners now believed to be ready to part with two of their stars in a bid to secure the goal-scoring star.
Napoli's Victor Osimhen has once again been touted with the move to north London. A report in Italy on Monday suggested that the Nigerian 25-year-old is 'young and ambitious and dreams of the Premier League' and it will be be 'very difficult' for the striker to remain at the Serie A club next season.
Osimhen, who has 17 goals in 32 appearances this campaign, had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal's London rivals Chelsea in the past few months. Recent reports also suggested that while Napoli's asking price of £113m is inconceivable for the Stamford Bridge club - especially when considering their need to balance the books ahead of June's Financial Fair Play deadline - Chelsea will happily part with Trevor Chalobah and Conor Gallagher in order to free up funds whilst also making a player-swap deal with Romelu Lukaku.
However, the most recent news indicates that Arsenal have 'recently resurfaced' as an option with 'London calling' for Osimhen and, with a potential player-swap deal also on the cards for the N7 side, the Gunners are said to 'have a few men who don't displease' the Serie A side. These men are reportedly left-back Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe with the Emirates club prepared to offer the duo in a bid to bring down the cost of a proposed deal for Osimhen.

If Fulham plump for Smith Rowe, should Arsenal jump at the offer?
He was once part of a emerging and scintillating attack, yet another Hale End boy destined, it seemed to lead the Arsenal into a new Golden Age. Despite the brilliant flashes he showed during the otherwise disappointing 2021-22 season, scoring 10 goals and adding 2 assists, Emile Smith Rowe can barely even get a lick of time on the pitch these days. Between his injuries, Martinelli's emergence (and regression?), Trossard's fine form, and Havertz's arrival, it's starting to feel like the Smith's time here may be at an end. Enter Fulham?
Although injuries have hampered Smith Rowe's playing time, another, harsher reality has been the competition he's faced, resulting in starting only four of the last 31 games he's for which he's been available, he has started only four of them. He's sat rooted to the bench for 28 matches, an unused sub watching on as Martinelli, Trossard, and Havertz dominate the positions from which Smith Rowe had started to dazzle in the first place. Not even Havertz's move to the top of the line created any space for Smith Rowe in the attacking midfield; instead, it's Declan Rice taking up on the left midfield in our 4-3-3 formation, further crowding Smith Rowe out of the starting XI.
Part of the conundrum is that Smith Rowe just isn't good enough to supplant any of the aforementioned players, but another, perhaps-larger part is that Arteta doesn't seem to rate or trust him. Even in matches in which we've decimated opponents, he doesn't turn to Smith Rowe despite knowing how useful it would be to rest the likes of Rice or Ødegaard or even Saka. The kid's versatile enough to play almost any attacking position but can't crack the lineup. It's a sign of how much the squad has improved and how much more competitive there is for playing time.
Now, rumours are emerging that Fulham might be interested in acquiring Smith Rowe. Given that whatever we might sell him for would be pure profit, that he's home-grown, and that he arguably still has his best years ahead of him, what's the minimum we'd accept? Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be a mere £18.5m, down from a high of £35m at the close of that 21-22 season (having surged from just £10 at the start of it). Fulham owner Shahid Khan hasn't shown much interest in investing in the squad. The club's record signing, jean Michel Seri, cost around £26m in 2019. That doesn't inspire much optimism.
While there's sure to be some sentiment around a Hale End product, such sentiment can't stand in the way of doing what's right for the club. In this case, what's right for the club might be what's also right for the player. Sitting on the bench does nothing for either party; selling him on frees up a roster spot, brings in some amount of cash, and gives the player a better chance at regular playing time, maybe even a starting role. If anything. Those who want Smith Rowe to succeed should want him to be sold.
What could we expect or extract from Fulham, given Khan's parsimonious nature—£15m? £20m? He's just 24 and could yet become a very, very good player. It's a shame that Arteta hasn't given him much of a chance to prove his worth here or at least in the transfer market. As a result, we may have to settle for something on the lower end of our hopes.

Fulham make former Huddersfield Town star also linked with West Ham and Aston Villa a 'transfer priority'
Fulham have reportedly made signing former Huddersfield Town loanee Emile Smith Rowe a priority for the summer.
The playmaker had a spell in West Yorkshire in 2020, spending the second half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at the John Smith's Stadium. Despite showing himself to be raw at times, his talent was clear for all to see and he impressed for the Terriers.
His saw his stock soar following his time as a Terrier, enjoying more senior opportunities at Arsenal and eventually winning his first England senior cap. However, he has slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.
Hampered by injury and intense competition in the squad, Smith Rowe managed just three league starts for Arsenal last season. In the final few months of the season, his lack of action fuelled speculation regarding a summer move.
West Ham United and Aston Villa were both linked with the 23-year-old, while there was also said to be interest from Newcastle United. According to The Telegraph, signing Smith Rowe is now one of Fulham's priorities for the summer.
Cottagers boss Marco Silva is reportedly keen to bolster his attacking options and Smith Rowe would arguably add plenty of flair and creativity to the Fulham squad.
Fulham have also been linked with another England-capped player who has plied his trade in Yorkshire, forward Eddie Nketiah. Smith Rowe's teammate is formerly of Leeds United and is thought to be of interest to Fulham.

"I'm in best shop window" – Fulham player says he doesn't need national team to attract interest, PL does it anyway
Fulham star João Palhinha today had a word with the Portuguese media at the national team camp.
Even though the main subject was the friendly against Finland and the preparation for the Euros, the rumours about the midfielder's future were once again mentioned.
As reported by A Bola, Palhinha was asked whether the continental tournament could be a showcase for him to move elsewhere. But he didn't want to feed that story.
"I'm already in the best shop window. I'm talking about the English league, of course, which everyone sees and knows about. Whoever does well will have a lot of visibility. Let's see what happens over time. I honestly don't think the Euros will change anything," said the Fulham player.
"The work I'm doing at Fulham shows what I'm capable of. I see this Euros as another test in which I want to show my worth, I know what I'm capable of and being here, in the national team and at the Euros is a source of pride for me and my family."
Palhinha came close to leaving Fulham during negotiations with Bayern Munich not long ago, but with the change of management at the Bundesliga side, there haven't been strong rumours about a new attempt to land the midfielder.
The 28-year-old's quality continues to draw big attention from European giants, though, and we shall see if any other clubs will move for him this summer.
Portugal have a strong team for the Euros and that could certainly help Palhinha to show his skills, but that doesn't seem to be something on his mind ahead of the tournament.

Contact made: Latest report claims Tottenham have initiated contact with Premier League side regarding move for striker
Tottenham Hotspur's hunt for a new centre-forward continues as the transfer window approaches, now just a couple of weeks away.
Spurs have been linked with several strikers for potential summer signing, and the latest name on their radar is Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz.
According to GOAL Brasil journalist Thiago Fernandes, the Lilywhites have shown interest in the Brazilian forward ahead of the transfer window.
He claims that Tottenham have made initial contact with Fulham regarding a move for the striker.
The North London outfit are not alone in this pursuit; their city rivals Chelsea have also made inquiries about Muniz.
Despite being under contract at Craven Cottage until 2026, Muniz could be on the move due to the interest from top English clubs.
A product of Flamengo's youth academy, Muniz has made a significant impact in the second half of the Premier League season.
He notably went on a streak, netting 8 goals in 8 games, bringing his total to 10 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions. (Transfermarkt)
Muniz's impressive form in the latter part of the campaign has caught the attention of London clubs.
Fulham's valuation of Muniz has increased, with the club now seeking between €30 million and €40 million for the highly sought-after talent.
The 23-year-old has a current market value of €20 million, making the Cottagers' asking price reasonable given his recent performances.
TBH Says:
As Tottenham aim to bolster their squad, Muniz's addition might improve their attacking options. However, fans may not be convinced if Spurs end up signing the Fulham man after being linked with the likes of Ivan Toney and Santiago Gimenez for so long.
