Exclusive: Bayern Munich still working on major transfer, no competition from other clubs yet, says expert
Bayern Munich are still working on the transfer of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha and there doesn't currently look to be any competition for his signature, according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Portugal international has shone in the Premier League and looks like he'd surely be a quality signing for a number of top clubs, though at the moment is seems like only Bayern are making serious moves to win the race for this deal this summer.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Romano provided an update on the Palhinha situation, explaining that it is now key for Bayern and Fulham to agree on a fee for the 28-year-old.

For now, the two clubs seem some way apart on the final amount to be paid for Palhinha, so it will be interesting to see if this can be resolved, or if it perhaps ends up dragging on and allowing other clubs an opportunity to enter the running.

Palhinha transfer situation explained by Romano
It's sure to be a busy summer for Bayern after such a disappointing season last term, with the club ending their long run of Bundesliga title wins, while they also under-achieved in the Champions League.

New signings like Palhinha could be crucial to help get the club back on track under new manager Vincent Kompany, with Romano providing an update on the situation.

"Bayern are also still working on the Joao Palhinha deal – they are currently offering more than €40m, but Fulham want more than this as the package agreed last summer was higher, closer to €60m," Romano said.

"There's still a gap but talks continue, because Palhinha has agreed on personal terms with Bayern and he wants the move. At the moment, Bayern are pushing and I haven't heard anything about other bids from any other clubs."

Exclusive: Fulham Signing £45m Star to Replace Palhinha 'Possible'
Fulham could sign a new midfielder with Premier League experience this summer with Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips a possibility.

Fulham could target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Kalvin Phillips as a midfield signing this summer.
Marco Silva is looking for a player in that position with Premier League experience.
The signing could be a replacement for Joao Palhinha who is likely to leave Craven Cottage.

Fulham could be in the market for a new defensive midfielder this summer, according to GIVEMESPORT sources, with Tottenham Hotspur ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Manchester City outcast Kalvin Phillips being among those they admire who have Premier League experience.

Marco Silva has done a terrific job at Craven Cottage, but with Joao Palhinha inevitably becoming Bayern Munich-bound, the club are doing everything in their power to find the perfect replacement for the ground-eating ace in the coming months.

Palhinha has been instrumental to Silva's work in west London since joining from Sporting CP in the summer of 2022. In two years, the 28-year-old has played just shy of 80 times for the club and even won the club's Player of the Season gong in 2022/23.

Hojbjerg and Phillips Eyed as Palhinha Replacements
Premier League experience could be key

As we enter the summer transfer market, GMS sources reveal there is an ever-growing potential that Fulham will be scouring for a new midfielder to station themselves as the fulcrum of the side, ultimately replacing Palhinha.

Hojbjerg has emerged as a potential option after being considered by the capital club in the past. Having made 36 appearances in the Premier League during 2023/24, the midfielder would be match fit should he secure the cross-city switch, though a deal for the Dane does not seem likely.

And despite his hodgepodge loan stint at West Ham United, Phillips is being explored as a prospective acquisition for the Craven Cottage-based outfit.

Palhinha, Phillips, Hojbjerg - Premier League Stats

Statistic          Palhinha    Phillips    Hojbjerg
Minutes          2,711    309    1,294
Goals/Assists          4/1    0/0    0/0
Pass success rate (%)          83    80    88.6
Tackles per game          4.6    1.4    0.9
Interceptions per game            1.4    0.5    0.5
Clearances per game            1.6    0.3    0.8
Overall rating            7.04    5.89    6.32

A move for £45m star Phillips, according to GMS sources, might be more feasible on the basis that he is likely to be thinking about his next move from the Etihad Stadium and, as a result, will be more open-minded than other options.

What makes Hojberg and Phillips so appealing to Fulham's boardroom bosses is the fact they both have experience in England's top division.

Palhinha 'Expected to Leave' Fulham This Summer
Amrabat, Luis and Hjulmand also admired

Their pursuit for a player to sit in front of their back line and do the dirty work has been boosted tenfold given Palhinha looks to be leaving this summer, though GMS sources have revealed that his employers are holding out for a better deal for the midfielder who they rate very highly.

Expecting to earn £60 million plus from the sale of the Portuguese talisman, Silva and the Fulham higher-ups will be wanting to spend their money wisely on a successor across the coming months.

Sofyan Amrabat, who spent last season on loan at Manchester United, was previously on their radar. The 57-cap Morocco international showed glimpses of what he's capable of at Old Trafford, though did not produce enough to turn his deal permanent.

GMS sources have, however, now confirmed that a deal for Amrabat could prove to be 'too difficult' now. Elsewhere, Fulham do have eyes on Manchester United-linked Morten Hjulmand, who plays for Sporting, and Florentino Luis of Benfica.

Given the aforementioned duo currently ply their trade in Portugal's top flight and boast no experience of playing in the Premier League, however, may deter Fulham from snaring a deal for either.

West Ham United loan flop Kalvin Phillips in line for Fulham transfer redemption
Fulham could sign former West Ham United loanee Kalvin Phillips if they are to lose Joao Palhinha this summer, according to GIVEMESPORT.

The Cottagers are looking to sign a new defensive midfielder this summer, with the Portuguese set to join Bayern Munich during the transfer window.

This has seen United's London rivals be linked to Tottenham Hotspur's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Phillips, who spent half of last season at London Stadium.

Fulham are considering a loan deal for the Englishman from Manchester City with a return to West Ham seemingly off the table.

Fulham make move for former West Ham United loanee Kalvin Phillips
It is safe to say that the former Leeds United star never enjoyed his spell with the Hammers, where he struggled from start to finish and even saw the fans turn against him.

He gave away a penalty on his debut in a 4-3 loss away to Newcastle United which was a sign of things to come in the end.

David Moyes' side then went on to concede 11 goals in their next four games with Phillips being sent off against Nottingham Forest in a 2-0 loss.

After this, he featured just six times while being an unused substitute in four games to end the season.

This loan spell was supposed to be the move that reignited his career and got him back on the right path after an ill-fated move to Man City.

A move to Fulham for a full season may prove to be beneficial as he would be able to demand more regular game time, especially if Palhinha leaves.

Fulham now want to sign 'outstanding' £15m Tottenham player; he played 39 times last season
Tottenham have a number of players who can leave this summer and now Fulham could make a move for one of their midfielders.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is prepared to be ruthless over the summer as he looks to revamp a squad that struggled towards the back end of last term.

A number of players are on the chopping block as well as Ange prepares his moves.

The likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Oliver Skipp and even striker Richarlison are among those being linked with a potential move away from north London.

And according to reports, another Tottenham midfielder is now wanted by Fulham.

Fulham keen on signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as well as Kalvin Phillips
According to a report from GiveMeSport, Fulham are in the market for a new midfielder as they sweat over the future of Joao Palhinha.

And it's claimed that Tottenham midfielder Hojbjerg is one of the players the Cottagers could make a move for to replace the Portuguese star.

Along with Hojbjerg, Kalvin Phillips has also been watched by Fulham as they prepare for Palhinha to make a move to Bayern Munich.

The report from GMS claims that Tottenham star Hojbjerg is being looked at, albeit a deal for the Dane seems less likely than Phillips right now.

Hojbjerg has been a key player for Spurs since signing for around £15m back 2020. He played 39 times last season for Ange Postecoglou but is among the players who'll be allowed to move on.

Hojbjerg deserves a good move
While Tottenham might want to move on from Hojbjerg and replace him, few can question his professionalism and attitude.

He has been a constant in the squad and has always come in and done the job required of him when called upon.

Right now, Tottenham are looking to go in another direction and that's fine.

But the 'outstanding' Hojbjerg deserves a good move and in fairness, a switch to Fulham to work under Marco Silva is not the worst thing that he could do.

Fulham revamped £153m starting XI next season if transfer rumours are true
Fulham supporters could be cheering on a much changed side next season.

It's looking as if it could be a big summer of change for Fulham as the club prepares for the upcoming Premier League season.

The Cottagers turned in somewhat of an underwhelming campaign last time out, steering clear of a relegation battle but lacking fight to pull off anything remarkable. Marco Silva will look for greater consistency next time out but must rethink his squad during the window.

Key defender Tosin Adarabioyo has already left the club for Chelsea while influential forwards Willian and Bobby De Cordova-Reid are yet to sign new deals. Meanwhile, the brilliant Joao Palhinha, Antonee Robinson and Andreas Pereira are all attracting transfer interest.

Watch - The Premier League Panel: Best and worst signings

There's no shortage of links and rumours of incomings at Fulham either as we edge closer to the summer window opening. LondonWorld looks at what a reinvested Fulham starting XI could look like next year, if current rumours are true - market values according to Transfermarkt.

1. GK - Bernd Leno, £11m
A solid season last time out, there's no reason to think the former Arsenal man won't be first choice between the sticks for the Cottagers next term.

2. LB - Kieran Tierney, £10m
Fulham are interested in a move for out-of-favour Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney, according to FootballTransfers. The Scotsman spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad and is being tipped a replacement for Antonee Robinson, should reports of Chelsea and Manchester United interest come true.

3. CB - Calvin Bassey, £13.5m
Showed some moments of real promise this season, although there were also mistakes. Will need to step up after the departure of Tosin Adarabioyo but has the skillset to do just that.

4. CB - Teden Mengi, £10m
Fulham will need to recruit a centre-back with Adariboyo gone and Tim Ream also nearing an exit. The Evening Standard reports that a new face coming in could be Luton Town man Teden Mengi.

5. RB - Timothy Castagne, £14m
A decent season all in all last time out. Sometimes caught out by younger, pacier wingers but still influential. His experience will be vital in knitting together a new-look back line.

6. CDM - Andre, £21m
Fulham interest in Fluminense man Andre is no secret having launched a transfer attempt in January. Renewed Bayern Munich efforts to sign Joao Palhinha adds pressure on completing a deal in this position with teamTALK reporting that the Cottagers still want the Brazilian in.

7. CDM - Sasa Lukic, £8.5m
There are options who can come in and out of the side to partner Palhinha or Andre. Harrison Reed and Tom Cairney are good options but Sasa Lukic excelled at times last season.

8. LW - Alex Iwobi, £21m
Marco Silva tended to favour Willian on the left flank but the Brazilian winger is proving somewhat of a contract rebel and could make a free transfer move to Saudi Arabia. The versatile Alex Iwobi is comfortable on either flank but could be pushed to the left if a certain transfer is made.

9. CAM - Emile Smith-Rowe, £18.5m
There's been no taking this role of Andreas Pereira in recent times but now the Brazilian has been linked with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. The Evening Standard believe Fulham have identified Arsenal man Emile Smith-Rowe as a replacement.

10. RW - Silas Katompa Mvumpa, £8.5m
With Bobby De Cordova-Reid yet to sign a new deal, Fulham are believed to have bid on Stuttgart man Silas Mvumpa. A first offer has been rejected but CaughtOffside report that nearly double the first amount of €8 million (£6.8m) has now been sent in a bid to beat Leeds United to the winger.

11. ST - Rodrigo Muniz, £17m
A revelation since the turn of the calendar year, there's no taking this starting spot of Rodrigo Muniz if he keeps scoring. The Brazilian bagged nine goals since February at the end of the season.

Fulham considering Kalvin Phillips as Joao Palhinha replacement
Fulham have reportedly h
identified Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips as a potential Joao Palhinha replacement.

According to a report from HITC, Fulham are interested in acquiring the services of Kalvin Phillips ahead of next season. The Cottagers have started to plan for life without Joao Palhinha amidst interest in him from Bayern Munich, and they feel the Manchester City midfielder could help them cope with his potential absence.

Phillips made a name for himself at Leeds United after coming up their ranks. After impressing with his childhood club in the Premier League, he moved to Manchester City in a deal worth £45 million back in 2022. The move has not gone according to plan as he has not been able to break into Pep Guardiola's first team.

The English international spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham. But even that did not work out, and he eventually lost his place in Gareth Southgate's England team for the Euros. While he is back at his parent club, there is no future for Phillips at the Manchester-based club.

Fulham eye Phillips as Palhinha replacement
Manchester City are ready to sanction Kalvin Phillips's departure, and there is interest in his services from Fulham. The Cottagers might soon need to find a replacement for Joao Palhinha. The Portuguese defensive midfielder was close to joining Bayern Munich last summer. But, the deal collapsed on deadline day and he ended up staying in the Premier League.

The German giants retain their interest in the 28-year-old and have already submitted offers to acquire his services. While the opening bid has been rejected, they are expected to keep pushing for his signature.

If Palhinha does end up leaving, they will look to bring Phillips to the club to ensure Marco Silva has the needed quality and depth to continue the progress made so far.

With the former Leeds United midfielder's contract at Manchester City running until the summer of 2028. So a loan deal might be the only way Fulham could bring him to their club. Guardiola's team are ready to cover his wages as they look to get him off their books which means it could be a win-win for all parties involved.

Crystal Palace initiate discussions to sign Reiss Nelson; Fulham, West Ham United also keen
Crystal Palace have opened talks for Reiss Nelson, with a bid anticipated in the coming days as there are other sides present in the race.
According to Caught Offside, Crystal Palace are emerging in front of the queue for Reiss Nelson, with the Arsenal star ready to leave the Emirates. The Eagles could make an offer worth €10 million, although the Gunners value the winger around €25 million, with other clubs, including Fulham and West Ham United, keen as well.

Crystal Palace in Reiss Nelson talks
Reiss Nelson has clearly not progressed within the Arsenal side, and his lack of minutes last season showed Mikel Arteta may not trust him at all. In fact, the most minutes he got in the second half of the campaign was when Bukayo Saka could not carry on, as the Gunners could cash in on their academy star.

While the Gunners value him at around €25 million, Crystal Palace are prepared to make an opening bid of €10 million to test Arsenal's resolve. It is merely a formality with such a low offer, as further negotiations could see the two clubs hit the middle ground in terms of the final valuations.

Nelson will want a new challenge where he gets ample minutes, and Crystal Palace might be the place for him. They have been keen on the winger for some time, as they might anticipate the departure of Michael Olise. However, the Arsenal academy graduate may not be the like-for-like signing the Crystal Palace fans might be hoping for.

Either way, he is a valuable commodity in the current market, with his homegrown status likely to play an even bigger role when determining his price point. Arsenal are about to sell some of their other homegrown stars like Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah alongside the €25 million-rated winger, which would help them immensely in building up their summer budget.

West Ham and Fulham are competing for Nelson
Crystal Palace might be seen at the front of the queue for Nelson for now. But they are not alone in the race, as West Ham and Fulham also hold concrete interest. The London pair are looking for a quality wide attacker to add depth to their squad and might see the €25 million-rated Arsenal attacker as a perfect fit in their environment.

Hence, Crystal Palace might have to accelerate their pursuit of the Arsenal man and find consensus on the transfer fee as soon as possible. The interest from other clubs might help Arsenal drive the price even ahead and get it closer to their €25 million valuation.

London club considering a move for Tottenham midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for an impactful summer as they aim to refine their squad for the upcoming season.

Among the potential departures from the club is midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has attracted interest from several clubs, including Fulham.

According to GiveMeSport, Fulham are considering the Danish international as a potential replacement for Joao Palhinha.

With Bayern Munich expressing strong interest in Palhinha, his departure from Craven Cottage seems imminent.

Marco Silva is focused on signing a player with proven Premier League experience to address the gap, positioning Hojbjerg as an ideal candidate.

Fulham's pursuit of Hojbjerg aligns with their need for a solid defensive midfielder to stabilize their lineup.

Hojbjerg is now in the final year of his contract, having joined Spurs from Southampton in 2020 on a 5-year contract.

Last season, Hojbjerg was primarily used as a substitute under Ange Postecoglou, starting only 21% of Premier League games and making just eight starts in 36 appearances.

This limited playing time has intensified Hojbjerg's desire to move on from North London in search of more consistent first-team opportunities.

However, Fulham will face competition from a number of clubs including Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Fenerbahce and Napoli.

In fact, it has been reported that the Turkish club have already started negotiations with Tottenham over a deal for the 28-year-old.

Tottenham are said to be seeking £20m for his transfer and Ange has also given the club the green light to sell him.

As Spurs approach this transfer window, the sale of Hojbjerg could generate the necessary funds to strengthen other areas of their squad.

Marek Rodak in: Derby County's dream XI for next season ft 5 realistic signings
The Rams will need wholesale changes to keep afloat in the Championship next season.

Stephen Pearce acknowledges the need for investment to bolster Derby's squad for their return to the Championship.
Marek Rodák could provide experience in goal for the Rams as a reliable shot-stopper despite limited playing time.
Ward, Nelson, Cashin, and Mendez-Laing will be crucial for Derby's success in building a strong defense and attack.

Paul Warne will need to act fast in the summer transfer window to build the Derby County squad he needs to compete in the Championship after promotion last season.
The Rams finished second in League One and now return to the second tier for the first time since 2022. However, with several first team players departing, wholesale changes are needed at the club.

Derby have not paid a transfer fee since 2020 due to financial issues and eventual administration, but that is set to change this season with club CEO, Stephen Pearce, acknowledging the effort needed to keep the Rams up back in March: "We're not there to make up the numbers, we want to compete, and we will make sure there is a competitive wage bill and squad to do that."

With pre-season not too far away, here's a look at how FLW could see Derby set up next year in the Championship. Derbyreleased Conor Hourihane, Dwight Gayle, Scott Loach, Korey Smith, Martyn Waghorn, and Joe Wildsmith as part of their retained list - and with Max Bird and Ebou Adams returning to their parent clubs, the starting XI is set to look wholly different from last season.

GK - Marek Rodák
Marek Rodák, 27, had been plying his trade for Premier League side Fulham, however, he is now a free agent after the expiration of his contract. The Slovakian could be a great replacement for Joe Wildsmith, League One's Golden Glove winner last term.

Rodák previously played under Warne on loan at Rotherham United but has been used sparingly by Fulham in the last couple of seasons, mostly as a cup goalkeeper.

However, he has helped the Cottagers win promotion to the top flight twice and is a reliable, mature shot-stopper. At six-foot-two, he could be a commanding addition to Derby's already strong defence and his experience would be vital in helping secure the Rams' survival in their first year back in the Championship.

RB - Joe Ward
Derby are blessed in the right-back department with Ryan Nyambe and Kane Wilson great challengers to Joe Ward, 28. However, Ward ended the 2023/24 season in superb fashion, despite an injury causing him to miss the on-field promotion party.

Peterborough United's longest-serving player joined the Rams last season, and although he had an injury-hit indifferent start, he was vital in a promotion six-pointer against Portsmouth with two excellent goals from distance.

It can be questioned if Ward is better operating from wing-back, but with a potential change of system to help with the progression up to the Championship, he may find himself in a deeper role than before - one that he may just flourish in.

CB - Curtis Nelson
Was there any doubt about the two centre-back positions? Curtis Nelson, 31, and Eiran Cashin were instrumental in Derby's promotion last season, creating an extremely solid backbone that was incredibly hard to break down.

The Rams conceded just 37 goals in the league last season, the best of any side, and it's no wonder that the former Cardiff City man was awarded Derby's Player of the Season by both the fans and players.

If he can carry his form from League One back to the Championship, it could be a highly successful season at Pride Park.

CB - Eiran Cashin
Nelson's formidable partner throughout 2023/24, Eiran Cashin, 22, is one of the most highly rated youngsters in the EFL.

Cashin came through the academy at Derby alongside the likes of Louie Sibley, Morgan Whittaker, and Max Bird and is looking to stamp his mark on the Championship in his first full term in the division.

Brighton & Hove Albion were highly interested in the former Republic of Ireland U21 defender, but with a new long-term contract until 2027, he will be looking to help the Rams return to heights not seen for well over a decade.

With 248 recoveries and a tackling success rate of 75.8%, it will be hard to get past an ever-maturing Cashin next season as he edges closer to a full international call-up.

LB - Ben Osborn
The second potential signing on this list, Ben Osborn, 29, grew up as a Derby supporter. Nevertheless, he started his career at bitter rivals Nottingham Forest before moving on to Sheffield United.

Alan Nixon reported that Derby are interested in free agent Osborn, however, they will have to beat Watford to capture the signature of the ex-Forest man. And with limited viable options at the club that can operate at left-back across a full season, he could be key to the Rams' survival.

Able to operate anywhere down the left flank, as well as in the central midfield. Osborn's versatility could be of high interest to Warne, and with 266 Championship and 61 Premier League appearances to his name, the potential of his arrival is much to savour for Rams fans.

DM - Ebou Adams
Ebou Adams is possibly Derby's biggest target this summer. The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at DE24, introducing himself to fans with a standout performance against Charlton Athletic.

The Cardiff City midfielder was monstrous under Warne last time out and is already a fan favourite, his signature could be one of the most desired in recent history at the club by supporters.

Adams won 135 duels in just 17 games after his arrival, while also winning 66% of his tackles. His ability to break up opposition attacks and begin the counter for his own team was integral in Derby's promotion, and given the opportunity, he could be a star in the Rams' midfield once again in 2024/25.

It has been reported that Cardiff are open to listening to offers for the Gambian midfielder but only time will tell if Adams comes back to Pride Park in black-and-white rather than blue.

CM - Liam Thompson
Another of Derby's own, Liam Thompson, 22, played his role to perfection when called upon last campaign. Returning to the league in which he made his debut, he will be looking to fill the role left by his friend and former teammate Bird.

Despite starting just six games last season out of the 24 he featured in, his tenacity and willingness to run brought great excitement to the team.

This could be a make-or-break year for Thompson. He needs to show now, more than ever, that he has what it takes to become a mainstay in this Derby side.

CM - Herbie Kane
Barnsley's midfield ace, Herbie Kane, 25, has garnered attention from the Rams, as per Nixon. Kane joined the Tykes from Liverpool in 2020 and since then has made 123 appearances for his team.

With nine goals and five assists in League One last season, he could be the playmaker to replace Hourihane and add further youth to the team.

Kane was released by Barnsley in May amid their own rebuild following their play-off failure in 2023/24 and could save Derby a huge sum of money in replacing multiple midfielders.

With 31 Championship appearances to his name coming from a loan spell with Hull City before his move to Oakwell, he may just be looking to prove himself in the division once and for all and put behind two frustrating years at Barnsley.

RW - Corey Blackett-Taylor
Joining from Charlton Athletic on loan back in January, before his deal is made permanent at the start of July, Corey Blackett-Taylor, 26, will be hoping to show what he is truly capable of in the new season.

A fee in the region of £300,000 was settled for the winger, who was in fine form for the Addicks at the start of the last campaign. However, he failed to transfer it over to his new club - featuring from the bench for the most part.

Yet, a stand-out performance against Portsmouth showed Derby fans what he is able to do and he will be looking to hit the ground running in August.

Interchangeable on the flanks, Blackett-Taylor is still an exciting permanent addition for the Rams, and if he maintains his fitness, can become an important figure in this Derby team.

ST - Tyrese Campbell
After 31 goals and 16 assists in 142 Championship games for Stoke City, Tyrese Campbell, 24, is now a free agent. Derby have just two contracted strikers, currently in Conor Washington and Dajaune Brown, with James Collins yet to sign a new deal with the Rams.

Although his numbers are less than inspiring, a new club could be just what Campbell needs to get his shooting boots back, and with Blackett-Taylor and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing he has more than enough creativity alongside him to help him add more goals to his game.

More game-time is certainly on the agenda at Derby, and with a fast start, he may just become a new fan favourite at Pride Park.

The former England U20 player enjoyed a fruitful spell in Stoke's youth sides and will be looking to replicate that at a new club - proving to his doubters that he can be a solid Championship goalscorer.

LW - Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, 32, has been a machine for Derby since joining in 2022. The Guatemalan international has hit the back of the net 18 times while grabbing 29 assists in 101 games for the Rams, his best return for a club.

Able to operate anywhere across the front three, Mendez-Laing was instrumental in Derby's promotion last season, creating 89 chances, converting 16 of these into assists in League One.

Off the left, Mendez-Laing is able to cut in and release a ferocious shot but is also able to puzzle defenders with great pace and skill. He will be of huge importance to Derby next season and will be hoping to keep the good times coming at Pride Park for another year.

Didi Hamann expects midfield duo to stay at Bayern Munich
Didi Hamann does not believe that Bayern Munich will part ways with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka this summer despite rumors linking the duo with moves away from the club.

Bayern Munich are in the midst of a squad overhaul, and have already made their first signing of the summer, bringing in central defender Hiroki Ito from VfB Stuttgart. Bolstering the midfield is also high on the Bayern bosses' agenda for this summer, with João Palhinha said to be their top target.

It has been reported in recent weeks that Bayern Munich would be willing to sell Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka if they were to receive suitable offers this summer in order to make way for Palhinha. But former Bayern, Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Didi Hamann is confident that the two Germany midfielders will stay in Bavaria beyond the summer transfer window.

"Kimmich has one year left on his contract. I think he'll stay at Bayern," Hamann told Sky Sport. "[I think] Goretzka will also stay in Munich. If there are inquiries in the summer, I could imagine the club demanding a huge transfer fee. I don't know if anyone will pay that. As things stand today, I would say that both will still be there in the new season."

Kimmich was predominately used at right-back by Thomas Tuchel in the recently concluded season, while Goretzka struggled for consistency and also lost his place in the Germany squad. The former has 12 months left on his current contract, with the latter's deal still has two years left to run.
