Lukic gonna miss the next 2 games then
Let's do this!
They're taking it to us early. Ugh!
It's going to be a long afternoon
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:05:05 PMIt's going to be a long afternoon
I'm getting the same vibe. Let's hope we're wrong.
First awful decision there from Kavanagh overruling the corner.
COYW ::scarf::
Andersen is all over the place
Yellow for Andersen, cynical tackle on edge of box
the longer it stays at 0-0 the more we will come into it.
Anndersen booked already isn't good news. And Robinson as well now too
Kavanagh always quick to give us a yellow though, let Burn get away with rugby tackling Adama on a fast break.
Quote from: Jules on February 01, 2025, 03:19:41 PMAnndersen booked already isn't good news. And Robinson as well now too
It was slack Fulham play led him to do it.
Looks like those two yellows could be costly, defence will be under pressure now
Interestingly we are shading the possession but zero shots and zero xG.
How many fouls of Newcastle go unpunished. Kavanagh having a mare again
Lots of territory but zero goal threat from us. Where is Smith Rowe, first time I noticed him was when he fell over.
Have we forgotten that Burn is 10 feet tall!
ESR needs to get in this game
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:31:06 PMHave we forgotten that Burn is 10 feet tall!
We're not exactly lethal in the air anyway. Throw in our miserable set pieces and we have lots of room for improvement.
Iwobi's balls today have been shocking. Adama playing well.
Iwobis crossing is scandalous
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:32:05 PMESR needs to get in this game
and the problem is even if he still doesnt get into the game he wont come off til the 70th/80th minute
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:32:05 PMESR needs to get in this game
He needs to score a goal or two!
thats that then
Damn. Castagne was left for dead
OH POO!
Andersen so disappointing again, doesn't even try and stop the cross.
Castagne and Andersen don't have the pace to match Gordon. Now 1-0
As usual, all the ball and can't create anything substantial.
Another game where we could play for 24 hours and still not score.
Just don't concede 8 lads and we'll be alright
We have to show more upfront. All the forward players get the ball and then stop, it's so slow, there's no movement or pace.
Such a mediocre season. Really very disappointing
The most unhurried shot of this season.
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:38:45 PMDamn. Castagne was left for dead
We miss Tete badly. Castagne is just not as good.
Absolutely horrendous by Castagne again. He's gone from being a top quality PL RB, to not good enough. I wonder if that injury he got has lost him his pace, and everything has fallen off from there.
We need to find a scoring threat this summer. Jimenez just isn't the answer.
Quote from: First State on February 01, 2025, 03:43:19 PMWe need to find a scoring threat this summer. Jimenez just isn't the answer.
Or, ideally, on or before Monday.
Iwobi seems a tad unsettled on the pitch.
I can accept other teams will score against us and we will sometimes make errors
BUT!
I'm now fed up with this "painting by numbers" kind of football where we work it round the pitch but hardly ever take a chance in the final third.
Pretty passing patterns (if they can manage to pass to a team mate) and no dynamic movement or flair leds to giving the ball away and an easy (ish) day for our opponents!
Frankly they are under achieving big time or are they just not up to challenging for to 6 or even top 8.
Missing Wilson. No cover for Castagne. Get Sess on the left and move Iwobi across.
Quote from: First State on February 01, 2025, 03:43:19 PMWe need to find a scoring threat this summer. Jimenez just isn't the answer.
I think the guys around him need to take some responsibility too.
Can't be expected to do it all himself.
Iwobi is shocking today. He needs to be tugged at half time
Agree Jimenez is having a shocker today too. Had all the time in the world for a shot not long ago and waited til there was a defender right in front of him.
Joelinton has made so many fouls now without a booking...
Edit: Kavanagh yellowed him after the advantage.
I would take ESR off at half time and give Sess a run. Might also replace Raul with Munez
I wont say these are worrying times. But we have looked tagged for quite some time now. Nothing seems to have changed. We introduce Wilson and he was injured. But that has been the only change for some time. Traore is at last starting a game but has been given little to work with.
It seems to have been an age since we looked like winning a game and in fact have looked pretty average for months. I don't blame the forwards or the defence. But just playing the same with the same team clearly hasn't worked. We really need a change in thought and tactics. The team playing tired tactics and looking tired doing it.
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:48:23 PMI would take ESR off at half time and give Sess a run. Might also replace Raul with Munez
Exactly..So would I do both!

Ooh Matron!
Parkerball Mk2
We're so predictable! Down the right flank we play into Iwobi and Jedi overlaps hoping for a pass and then there's a pass to ESR. Something like that every time we go down the right flank. Rinse and repeat.
We've got no creativity right now in our squad. ESR seems to like playing more left center which leaves the right more deserted when Traore gets the ball.
Berge and Lukic are doing great with pressing and challenging for balls, so that's good.
Quote from: Luka on February 01, 2025, 03:47:01 PMIwobi is shocking today. He needs to be tugged at half time
Ohhh hello ::tongue::
Bring Sess on left side and hook ESR for King. If Jimenez doesn't liven up get him off for Godo!
We need an injection of life into this team. They lack energy and are going through the motions.
Quote from: St Eve on February 01, 2025, 03:48:23 PMI would take ESR off at half time and give Sess a run. Might also replace Raul with Munez
It would be interesting to see Raul in the 10 with Muniz up top for a bit.
ESR is just so disappointing as the 10. He's neither creative nor active between the lines. Atleast Raul is active, he just can't create and score all the goals by himself.

Totally agree, 0 penetration in the final third. Which is odd when you have ESR, Iwobi, Traore and Raul who on paper should be pretty creative

Think our squad isn't big enough. One or two injuries in attacking positions and we have no goal threat.
Think this season has been hindered by our two big signings massively underwhelming.

Back in the day - Alf Ramsey, England manager, to Rodney Marsh -
'I might pull you off at half-time.'
Rodney Marsh - 'At QPR we only get a cup of tea.'
Think that may have been the last time Rodders players for England!
On the plus side, it's only 1-0. Let's hope Marco's halftime talk lights a fire under the team's collective arses.
The more I watch us I genuinely think we may have over achieved early doors and we now have false confidence.
We are so toothless upfront, do we practice shooting from outside the box, we have become Arsenal in the tail end of Wenger era were they have to walk it into the net and more often than not it doesn't happen.
Defensively I'm not sure what to say, we have mistakes in us every game and more than one at that.
Rocket up the ass is needed and this season is as good as done for us. We have nothing to play for and the bottom of the league are frankly not that great so relegation is not a worry.
The first half is a repeat of many games this season, a lot of huffing and puffing, not a lot of substance and we will come away with no points.
Pretty much agree with all of the above.
We look stale, slow and predictable. No creativity. Injuries mean Iwobi has been run into the ground - by far our most consistent forward. Raul and Muniz are both mediocre. ESR has been hugely underwhelming. We're also prone to conceding a goal or more.
Desperately need a few players in to freshen things up.
I'm beginning to wonder if Marco has run out of ideas. A season that promised so much is fizzling out.
Quote from: First State on February 01, 2025, 04:00:00 PMOn the plus side, it's only 1-0. Let's hope Marco's halftime talk lights a fire in the squad.

This season is done and dusted.
No reinforcements and the squad looks stale as you point out.
Marco needs to do something different, we've looked impotent since the Chelsea game
There's a lack of creativity, ESR should focus on improving his physical condition, Father Time has caught up with Raul, and Iowbi's magic seems to have faded.

Commentator: "again, the end product isn't there for Fulham." You don't say. :slap:
Looks like Marco's half time team talk has had the desired effect, when was the last time we came out firing after HT in this way? Two shots on target in two minutes!
Adama is trying hard but he has no help
Just heard the commentator say this is our 7th time coming up against Dubravka and we've not put ONE goal past him.
Lol you can't write this stuff
That needs to be a goal.
so close
Quote from: First State on February 01, 2025, 04:16:15 PMThat needs to be a goal.
Yeah another chance goes begging. So tangible how low on on confidence our team is right now.
Sure we'll miss a few more chances and then Newcastle immediately score on their first one and then its game over.
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. We need to do better.
How many times this season have we had moments like this but not made them count. We can't score when we are actually the better side. Let alone when we are struggling. I await the inevitable Newcastle slick finishing.

Yeeeeees

Typical that it's deflected too.
And we've woken Newcastle up
Why am I not excited by the equaliser. A long way to go. Prove I am an old misery guts.

Raul, I'm really sorry! I have no idea what I'm saying!! GOALLLLLL!

Not a fan of them either.
Crossbar is our friend.
Has Newcastle ever committed a foul?
Sess to get the winner
Come on SESS!!
Raul Jiminez take a bow. Wins the ball. Drives with the ball. Perfect pass. Sweet finish, but just before it he just-about-legally bumps the defender to make the space and that is pure know how. Put them together and it's an utterly sublime goal.
Were AP and Muniz on the field? Raul and ESR performed well in the second half.
They are getting frustrated
GET INNNNNNNNNNN
Yeeees
Wow!!!
To quote me exactly after the United game. 'Oh yeh....we totally don't need a striker....' :slap:
If we win this game it's going to be funny reading this thread back later.
Be still my heart, we scored off a set piece.
All the Muniz haters can stick that in their pipe. Wonderful ball from AP.
Great comeback. Let's hold on.
Great subs
MUNIZ!!
Pleased for him but still wont get excited yet. 3-2 DEFEAT still on.
A GOAL FROM A SET PIECE WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!
Good delivery AP, and fantastic, delicate touch by R9
A FREE KICK!!! HOLY MOTHER.... ::scarf::
Please hold on Fulham. Sounds like their crowd are getting louder
Ok then, no late game goal. Come on Fulham!
OK, it's happening, stay calm
Wonder if Diop will come on for additional protection.
Muniz? I'm about to burst into tears.

What a win, and two goals from our strikers ::thumb::
Well deserved, and reward for our intensity in the second half. Think we benefitted from Newcastle having one eye on the cup game.
After the dross last weekend at home, a great win!
Why oh why can't we perform like this at home!!
I felt completely drained emotionally after the match with MU, but after this game, I was filled with positive vibes. This is exactly why I love this sport. Thank you, Fulham!
No better way to start my weekend. ::wine::
Good to see the fight in the 2nd half. Win, lose, or draw that kind of effort is all we want from the team every week.
Once again there was never any doubt. My calm and concise comments prove that at no time did I doubt out superior game play and tactics. I do wish others could be us positive as I was.
Well done Fulham at long last. First win in an age. Well done our forwards for actually scoring.

That's what this Fulham team can do but didn't I let rip at them in the first half?
I did and I stand by it because the inconsistency is there for all to see.
We are so close to being up there with Bournemouth, Forrest etc but that discussion is for another day..........
