Blimey,.Iwobi should have had another there.

Iwobi seems to be playing more central, with Wilson on the Right, it's working well so far.

I know it's early doors but I'd just like to see us controlling possession a little more.

Nice Header from.Muniz, just wide though, Leno made a very good save a few mins ago...

It's starting to open up to be quite a chaotic match now, with the weather affecting things, stay stable Fulham.

I don't get the apparent suprise from people that Brighton are playing good football? They're above us in the table and known for being a good techincal team; they've even switched to a back 3 to counter our system so that says it all about how much they've prepped for this game

We need to score a few here to be safe. They look a very good side and will score.

Based on what? He's barely touched the ball whereas we've got in down the left several times due to Nelson

Brighton better team so far. We look a bit fragile at times at the back.

Nelson, ESR etc offering very little.

I would be tempted to see a bit of Sess and Traore in the second half.

I think we will be lucky to hang on. 1-1 a likely result sadly.
Title: Re: Brighton (H) 05/12
Post by: Volz on December 05, 2024, 08:21:50 PM
ESR with his clearly worst/most invisible appearance for us thus far. RN not far behind, and Wilson looking generally confused on what his position and focus should be in this constellation. Muniz and Iwobi have been great but get zero help. I'd definitely swap RN for Traore immediately. ESR can always produce one moment of magic so I'd still let him have it for another 25-30. But we look disjointed. Which I find understandable but still. Least I want to see more of a combative spirit than what has been showcased so far.

Post by: Bassey the warrior on December 05, 2024, 08:22:51 PM
Brighton are a very good outfit, they have been for a number of years. They're causing more trouble for our defence than many teams I've seen this year.

For us, Iwobi having another excellent game. Doesn't matter where he plays he'll always give you at least seven out ten. Muniz much better, working hard and showing a real hunger. I'd like to ESR get in the box a bit more.

Just a bit. That's one of the most we've been dominated this season. Fair play to them as they have been excellent and put all sorts of pressure on us. Needs to change something tactically at half time as they are swarming us. Look like they have an extra man on the pitch.Ā

Thought Muniz hold up play was very good and unlucky with those headers. Had next to no service as we just can't hold the ball for more that two seconds. Barely seen our silky moves. They are playing through our lines too easily as well. ESR has had a bit or a mare. Still somehow 1 - 0 however so come on Marco...work your magic here mate.
Title: Re: Brighton (H) 05/12
Post by: Steeeeeeeeeed on December 05, 2024, 08:24:40 PM
I think Muniz has done pretty well as a target man tonight, he has been our only outlet really, has held the ball up well a few times from long balls, and has done well to get his two strongĀ  headers close to target...could have scored 2 with a bit more precision.

He has done well with how little he has seen of the ball.

Fulham need to be more on the front foot
Title: Re: Brighton (H) 05/12
Post by: SerbianLad on December 05, 2024, 08:24:42 PM
In the first third of the half, we looked great, then we were okay for another 5ish minutes and after that they had a 10 or so minute period where they were really dangerous and after that Brighton were still the better team but we did okay I thought.

Muniz has been good, Iwobi too especially considering the fact he's playing out of position. Robinson apart from a few iffy passes, superb. Nelson and Wilson need to offer more. I'd also like Castagne to be a bit better too. Leno superb. Rest of them were okay.

I'd like to see Adama and Andreas in the second half. If we get a 2-0 lead, then King too.

Post by: Chi_FFC on December 05, 2024, 08:28:57 PM
I doubt we'll see a change at the half but if we were to see one, I'd like to see Wilson off with Iwobi taking his spot and Pereira in midfield.

We are struggling to cope with Brightons movement. Not sure how we are hanging on. Although I would take Nelson off and put on our flying winger who would at least stretch Brighton when we have a rare break.

This is why I said Wilson is always best off the bench when opponents are tired. To be fair none of our attacking quartet other than Muniz have turned it on yet.

Any prior indication Cuenca can come on and be the shield in front of the defence? Concerned about Berge's yellow and us not controlling the midfield. Hope we can get another goal soon as it isn't particularly enjoyable to watch at the moment, despite leading.

Agreed, Tete never managed 3 games in a week before so assume he gets a breather before Arsenal, every time we'd played Brighton previously he'd negated Mitoma to good effect

I always feel that Wilson is a great sub, but not a great starter.

He always looks full.of energy and ready to change a game when he comes on... At the moment he looks knackered and at a bit of a loss.

Can we sub him off now, and bring him back on in 5 minutes ?

This is objectively not true, he takes on more players per 90 mins than pretty much the entire league and we always create more down the left than right when he's playing

Well I disagree I think he's crap.

Well don't let the facts get in the way. Sadly he's now done a hammy so he could well be out for a while.
