Heck of a stormy night for it, anything could happen.
Steve Sidwells umbrella broke for a start š
Lovely, 1-0 Fulham, Iwobi did very well not to mess it up.
Yesssssss
Yeeeeees
What a start! Iwobi did really well to sort his feet out too.
Blimey,.Iwobi should have had another there.
Iwobi seems to be playing more central, with Wilson on the Right, it's working well so far.
I know it's early doors but I'd just like to see us controlling possession a little more.
Nice Header from.Muniz, just wide though, Leno made a very good save a few mins ago...
It's starting to open up to be quite a chaotic match now, with the weather affecting things, stay stable Fulham.
Need to see more of Nelson
Brighton ready to play and pressuring.
Brighton getting forward too easily.
Muniz has looked sharp so far
Muniz is playing well and fighting for everything
Got to look after the ball better. They are playing well here.
I don't get the apparent suprise from people that Brighton are playing good football? They're above us in the table and known for being a good techincal team; they've even switched to a back 3 to counter our system so that says it all about how much they've prepped for this game
We need to score a few here to be safe. They look a very good side and will score.
We really need a second
I'm wondering whether Marco might change our shape a bit to counter their back three?
Quote from: St Eve on December 05, 2024, 07:58:20 PMWe really need a second
I was thinking the same thing - one goal against Brighton isn't going to be enough.
Well done ref for getting in Berge's way ffs, he seems to have lost the plot in the last 5 mins or so with some of these decisions
Not arguing that yellow though surely?
We really are not comfortable at the moment.
We just can't even get a touch in the frigging ball here. Frustrating
Brighton playing most of the football.
Great save Leno.
Brilliant save from Leno, Fulham have got to get themselves together
What? No way a corner.
Castagne is not having a good game so far
Quote from: Twig on December 05, 2024, 08:05:35 PMWhat? No way a corner.
As I just said, ref's lost the plot and giving Brighton literally everything at the moment
Brighton is knocking on the door. Come on boys!!
I'm losing patience with this ref.
We had better change something soon or they are going to score
Quote from: St Eve on December 05, 2024, 08:08:32 PMWe had better change something soon or they are going to score
Yep
Castagne needs to offer more.
Let's try a few long shots in this wet and windy weather...but first let's try to get near their box to do so....
Bring Adama on for Nelson at half time
Quote from: Steeeeeeeeeed on December 05, 2024, 08:11:27 PMLet's try a few long shots in this wet and windy weather...but first let's try to get near their box to do so....
agreed. Shoot from distance on this crappy, wet, miserable night
Poor control from Smith Rowe

Not sure how you can want Nelson off rather than Wilson who's contributed nothing?
They've just been so much better than us on the ball and their press is superb. Come on lads up it here!
Yes we're finding their press challenging.
That just about sums the ref up,takes about an hour to let Berge back on the pitch

Nelson and Adama are wingers and currently Wilson is more likely to score
If only Muniz could get a header on target.

Based on what? He's barely touched the ball whereas we've got in down the left several times due to Nelson
We're slightly fortunate to be ahead I would say
Brighton better team so far. We look a bit fragile at times at the back.
Nelson, ESR etc offering very little.
I would be tempted to see a bit of Sess and Traore in the second half.
I think we will be lucky to hang on. 1-1 a likely result sadly.
ESR with his clearly worst/most invisible appearance for us thus far. RN not far behind, and Wilson looking generally confused on what his position and focus should be in this constellation. Muniz and Iwobi have been great but get zero help. I'd definitely swap RN for Traore immediately. ESR can always produce one moment of magic so I'd still let him have it for another 25-30. But we look disjointed. Which I find understandable but still. Least I want to see more of a combative spirit than what has been showcased so far.
Brighton are a very good outfit, they have been for a number of years. They're causing more trouble for our defence than many teams I've seen this year.
For us, Iwobi having another excellent game. Doesn't matter where he plays he'll always give you at least seven out ten. Muniz much better, working hard and showing a real hunger. I'd like to ESR get in the box a bit more.
Quote from: Hatch007 on December 05, 2024, 08:18:44 PMWe're slightly fortunate to be ahead I would say
Just a bit. That's one of the most we've been dominated this season. Fair play to them as they have been excellent and put all sorts of pressure on us. Needs to change something tactically at half time as they are swarming us. Look like they have an extra man on the pitch.Ā
Thought Muniz hold up play was very good and unlucky with those headers. Had next to no service as we just can't hold the ball for more that two seconds. Barely seen our silky moves. They are playing through our lines too easily as well. ESR has had a bit or a mare. Still somehow 1 - 0 however so come on Marco...work your magic here mate.
I think Muniz has done pretty well as a target man tonight, he has been our only outlet really, has held the ball up well a few times from long balls, and has done well to get his two strongĀ headers close to target...could have scored 2 with a bit more precision.
He has done well with how little he has seen of the ball.
Fulham need to be more on the front foot
In the first third of the half, we looked great, then we were okay for another 5ish minutes and after that they had a 10 or so minute period where they were really dangerous and after that Brighton were still the better team but we did okay I thought.
Muniz has been good, Iwobi too especially considering the fact he's playing out of position. Robinson apart from a few iffy passes, superb. Nelson and Wilson need to offer more. I'd also like Castagne to be a bit better too. Leno superb. Rest of them were okay.
I'd like to see Adama and Andreas in the second half. If we get a 2-0 lead, then King too.
Looks like the wind was behind us the first half.
I think we had it behind our backs in the first half, not sure though... If so that is a bit concerning for the second half
I doubt we'll see a change at the half but if we were to see one, I'd like to see Wilson off with Iwobi taking his spot and Pereira in midfield.
We are struggling to cope with Brightons movement. Not sure how we are hanging on. Although I would take Nelson off and put on our flying winger who would at least stretch Brighton when we have a rare break.
This is why I said Wilson is always best off the bench when opponents are tired. To be fair none of our attacking quartet other than Muniz have turned it on yet.
Any prior indication Cuenca can come on and be the shield in front of the defence? Concerned about Berge's yellow and us not controlling the midfield. Hope we can get another goal soon as it isn't particularly enjoyable to watch at the moment, despite leading.
I assume Castagne is in for his attacking prowess, trouble is he's been unable to get forward.
I think Castagne is in simply to give Tete a rest. On the two chances I saw for Castagne to make a positive forward run he just turned back with no attacking intent.
Handball?
More like it from us.
Quote from: Twig on December 05, 2024, 08:38:56 PMI think Castagne is in simply to give Tete a rest. On the two chances I saw for Castagne to make a positive forward run he just turned back with no attacking intent.
Agreed, Tete never managed 3 games in a week before so assume he gets a breather before Arsenal, every time we'd played Brighton previously he'd negated Mitoma to good effect
Deserved
Bassey what is that positioning
Ā ::angry::
Sh1t and I can't see where we are going to get a second from.
Yep, no surprise here. Ugh!
FFS. Can teams stop scoring ridiculous goals against us
Ffs, we were better then them this half as well. Poor from Bassey for the goal.
I can easily see many more goals coming but I hope it will be largely from us
Is this Wolves game 2.0?
We're looking like a B squad. Come on Fulham!!
Too many passes going astray.
Is it my imagination or does Nelson usually opt not to put in a cross?
Nooooo Nelson noooo.
Ā For the love of God, shoot the ball.
Absolutely sh*t from Nelson. I wanted to say how he looked much better in the second half, but that was embarassing. Get him off!
Expected the 1-1.
Very bemused as to why no subs have come on from Silva. We are sitting ducks now. Need to make changes.
Stand back sir, I want to make a shot....
Anybody else worried how easy last few games the ball over the top is getting behind our defence with ease
To be fair Nelson has been better this half but that was just embarrassing
Quote from: fulhamfever on December 05, 2024, 08:51:53 PMAnybody else worried how easy last few games the ball over the top is getting behind our defence with ease
Yep
I always feel that Wilson is a great sub, but not a great starter.
He always looks full.of energy and ready to change a game when he comes on... At the moment he looks knackered and at a bit of a loss.
Can we sub him off now, and bring him back on in 5 minutes ?
Quote from: Twig on December 05, 2024, 08:53:02 PMTo be fair Nelson has been better this half but that was just embarrassing
Nelson is pretty much useless. Doesn't defend and offers next to nothing going forward.
We look like a team void of strikers, chances go begging again, Brighton look very dangerous going forward.
Wow how poor we are in front of goal. The echo in Nelson's head must have been along the lines of 'shoot, shoot now, now oh blast'
Trarore could skin this back line given a reasonable amount of time.

This is objectively not true, he takes on more players per 90 mins than pretty much the entire league and we always create more down the left than right when he's playing
The tide's against us now. Changes needed.

Well don't let the facts get in the way. Sadly he's now done a hammy so he could well be out for a while.
Nelson just done his hamstring now...
I'm almost hoping he fakes it to justify being subbed
Unlucky from Nelson, as he would have come off regardless.

I guess that depends if you prefer our strikers to score or not?
Nelson can't play v Arsenal anyways
Good to see Boscombe beating Spurs
Well Smith Rowe had been pretty ineffective so let's see how Anders gets on. Also the pace of Traore.
We're toothless up front. A striker is desperately needed.
Brighton want this game more. I'm fearful a second goal is coming.

Agree - They are pressing for it
Would be really handy if we could shoot from around the box
Great ball in from Traore following a great Wilson pass, not a striker in sight!
God I've missed Traore
Back to AP corners
WE SCORED A CORNER
And we finally score from a corner
Finally 367 corners later
Bassey!!!
O'Riley OG šššššš

Berge top notch once again btw, long way away from the Villa game where he got scapegoated
Iwobi has been such a great signing. Brilliant goal and fantastic player.
A game of 4 quarters.
Luckily we were brilliant in the last quarter.

I humbly disagree. Despite their possession, we created the better chances
It was a much closer second half. Weirdly they completely stepped off after their goal and we were the better team.
The stats actually ended faulty even although they edged most. Not much in it in the end.
I always see ESR on the team sheet but never during the game. Too many other better players for him to be starting.
