West Ham United and Ipswich Town eye Celtic ace Cameron Carter-Vickers amid development
West Ham, Ipswich Town and Fulham are all keen on signing Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers over the summer, according to HITC.

The news outlet reported on 17 June that despite having one of the smallest budgets in the league, the Ipswich board will be backing Kieran McKenna for new signings.

The 26-year-old is the captain of the Scottish club and is currently in the United States where he's representing his country in the Copa America.

Celtic may spark a bidding war amid West Ham, Ipswich Town and Fulham interest
Celtic could potentially spark a bidding war for the United States international by leveraging the interest from multiple Premier League clubs.

The Scottish champions might use this competition to drive up the defender's price, ensuring they get the best possible deal for a player who has been a key figure in their recent successes.

The Hammers, in their bid to secure the services of the 26-year-old, could offer a more lucrative contract than Ipswich Town and Fulham, who may have smaller budgets.

The Hammers could also highlight their recent success in European competitions and their ambitions for the future to entice the centre-back.

Additionally, the Irons could offer a higher transfer fee to Celtic, making their bid more attractive than those from Ipswich Town and Fulham.

It remains to be seen just how high up he is on Julen Lopetegui's transfer list as that will dictate the urgency of proceedings.

Fulham fixtures for Premier League 2024-25 season: Nightmare first and last games but it could be worse
Fulham's full schedule for the new top-flight campaign has been confirmed

Fulham face an incredibly difficult start and finish to the new Premier League season after the fixture list was released today.

Marco Silva will be keen to kick on this season after very much steadying the ship in the previous campaign, having lost star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic although the invaluable Joao Palhinha could now follow through the exit door.

A trip to face Manchester United on the opening Friday night of the season is probably not the ideal start even if they won at Old Trafford last season. Fulham then end the campaign at home to defending champions Manchester City.

However it is not too bad a start for the Cottagers with newly-promoted duo Leicester and Ipswich followed by home games against West Ham and Newcastle.

West London derbies against Brentford and Chelsea are scheduled for November 2 and Boxing Day, respectively, with the return game at the Bees coming on Fulham's final road trip of the campaign.

Euro 2024: Cruel Defeat For Castagne
Timothy Castagne and his Belgium teammates were on the wrong end of the shock result of Euro 2024 so far, as Slovakia beat The Red Devils 1-0 on Monday evening.

Ivan Schranz's early goal proved to be enough to seperate the two sides, although the game wasn't short of controversy in its latter stages.

Timothy was a regular during Belgium's unbeaten qualification campaign and was selected in the starting XI by Domenico Todesco. He played the full 90 minutes but couldn't help Belgium find an equalising goal after falling behind early.

Slovakia - who named Marek Rodák among their substitutes - went ahead as Schranz fired home after Koen Casteels had parried Juraj Kucka's effort into the Slavia Prague forward's path.

Belgium missed a number of chances to equalise - while they also had two goals disallowed. Romelu Lukaku was adjudged to be offside as he bundled in Amadou Onana's header across the box, before he had another goal disallowed with just minutes remaining as Lois Openda handled the ball in the build up.

Timothy and his colleagues will be hoping for a bit more luck when they face Romania in Cologne on Saturday evening.

West Ham United establish contact to sign Ryan Sessegnon
West Ham United have established contacts to sign 24-year-old English full-back Ryan Sessegnon, who has left Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report by The Guardian, Ryan Sessegnon is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old has thus emerged as a viable target, especially after his departure from Tottenham Hotspur as a free agent.

Ryan Sessegnon and his Tottenham travails
Ryan Sessegnon failed to make his mark during his half-decade-long spell with Tottenham Hotspur. A native of London, the Englishman spent his formative years with Fulham, joining the West London club as an eight-year-old in 2008. He was one of the best young prospects in the country during his stint with the Cottagers.

The 24-year-old was one of the most sought-after prospects in England during his spell with Fulham before Tottenham Hotspur secured his services in August 2019. However, Sessegnon could not establish a foothold in five years at the North London club, managing only 57 appearances while chipping in with three goals and four assists.

Sessegnon's disastrous spell with Tottenham will officially end on July 1 when he becomes a free agent. However, the former English youth international does not have a shortage of suitors despite his dreadful stint with Tottenham. He is a target for his former club, Fulham, with West Ham United also joining the race to sign him.

Will Sessegnon stay in London?
Fulham's interest in Ryan Sessegnon is understandable. While the 24-year-old has primarily been a left-back in the last few years, he is equally adept at playing as a winger. So, with Willian in the twilight of his career, Fulham should sign a young wide attacker, bringing the outgoing Tottenham wide man into the picture.

As for West Ham, the Hammers have established contacts to sign the Englishman. They have not zeroed in on Sessegnon as their top target and are still mulling over a summer move. However, the outgoing Tottenham man is a viable target, even though Aaron Cresswell has signed a contract extension.

Sessegnon might remain in London after leaving Tottenham, with Fulham and West Ham vying for his signature. It will be interesting to see where he plies his trade in the 2024/25 season.

West Ham and Fulham consider move for free agent Ryan Sessegnon after his departure from Tottenham at the end of the season

Ryan Sessegnon is a free agent after release from Tottenham earlier this month
The 24-year-old is nearing a return to fitness after playing just once in 2023-24

West Ham and Fulham are considering making offers for former Tottenham wing back Ryan Sessegnon.

The 24-year-old is a free agent after leaving Tottenham at the end of the season.

Sessegnon played just eight minutes in the 2023-24 campaign having been hampered by an injury.

He was one of the most promising talent on the planet when he became a first-team regular at Fulham aged just 16 but a chronic hamstring issue has halted his career .

A move to West Ham would see him compete for a left-back spot with Emerson Palmieri and Aaron Cresswell.

The 24-year old wing-back is a free agent after leaving Tottenham at the end of the season

As reported by Mail Sport the Hammers want to add another centre forward and winger for new boss Julen Lopetegui so are looking to recoup funds where they can and bring down the age of their squad.

Meanwhile, a return to Craven Cottage would see Sessegnon reunite with the club where he first made his name.

He played 125 times for Fulham and scored 25 times across three season in the Championship and Premier League before joining Tottenham for £25million in 2019.

Sessegnon is nearing a return to full fitness and will be keen for regular first team action.

"I haven't decided where" – Fulham player teases over move to CL club this summer
Earlier this month, the Brazilian media revealed interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in signing Andreas Pereira from Fulham.

Back then, it was said the player is focused on the national team but has a 'priority' to play in the Champions League, meaning he may indeed be thinking about a new club.

As Pereira is currently with Brazil's squad preparing for the Copa América, Lance features an interview with him and quizzes him about his future.

The midfielder has made it very clear that as soon as the competition ends, there'll be a decision on whether he's staying or leaving Fulham.

"It's difficult. I'm focused on the Copa América. I want to win a title for the national team. I've waited a long time to be here, so I'm enjoying the moment. As for my future, of course I'm looking forward to it, but I think I'll leave it until the Copa América is over and I'll certainly let you know."

Pereira once again talked about his desire to be in the Champions League.

"I want to play in the Champions League. The biggest championships in football. I certainly have that as a goal in my head. I haven't decided where it's going to be yet."

There's also another part of the interview which Fulham fans should be interested in. That's the part where he's asked about his time at Flamengo, who were in talks with Manchester United to keep him after the loan. He mentioned it was the Craven Cottage side who ended up signing him, and doesn't sound very happy that it happened.

"It was a moment of uncertainty. When Dorival arrived, I expressed my desire to stay. I've been very comfortable since the coach arrived. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving for Fulham. I'm very grateful for what Dorival did for me and for Flamengo too."

On his last season, with the Whites, he said: "It was very good for me. One of the best seasons I've ever had. But it started off difficult with the injury I had. I wasn't focussed on getting back to the level I played at before. But I did very well, thank God. I overcame all the things I did last year. I did even better than I expected. As I said, a year ago I had a broken ankle and I never imagined I'd be here."

Fulham Target Modric-Esque Midfielder

Fulham are eyeing a deal for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sucic this summer.
Milan and Dortmund are also interested in the talented 21-year-old.
Sucic's current deal with Salzburg expires in 2025.

Fulham are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sucic this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

The talented 21-year-old is being considered by multiple European clubs this summer as he looks to make a big career jump from the Austrian Bundesliga.

According to Jacobs, Fulham, Milan and Borussia Dortmund are all monitoring Sučić, who made his Euro 2024 debut this week after coming on as a substitute in Croatia's 3-0 loss to Spain.

Sucics current deal with the Austrian side expires in just 12 months – leaving the door open for a cut-price transfer this summer.

The 21-year-old, who has just finished his fourth senior season with Salzburg, was on the radar of several Premier League clubs before, including Liverpool and Newcastle.

Fulham Eye Sucic Deal
Milan and Borussia are interested
Jacobs, writing in his GMS column, suggests Fulham, Milan and Dortmund have Sucic on their radar this summer. The Salzburg midfielder is expected to leave in the summer transfer window, with his contract expiring in 2025 and no sign of an extension. The Austrian club would prefer to receive a fee than see him depart for nothing.

Jacobs confirms that Liverpool and Newcastle United did consider the 21-year-old a couple of years ago, while a move to RB Leipzig is deemed unlikely. Often compared with Croatian teammate Luka Modrić, Sucic shares similar attributes with the Real Madrid playmaker and is now highly tipped to leave Salzburg after joining their academy back in 2016.

In four years with Salzburg's first team, Sucic made 128 appearances for the Austrian side, scoring 12 goals and adding 17 assists. A dead-ball specialist, Sucic can operate in multiple areas across the midfield line – so far in his career, he has been most utilised as a central midfielder.

Luka Sucic Stats (2023-24)
          Games   Goals   Assists
Bundesliga          22   3   8
Champions League          6   1   0
OFB-Cup          4   1   1

Fulham Target Palhinha Replacement
He is nearing a move to Bayern

Fulham are targeting a holding midfielder signing to replace Joao Palhinha this summer as the Portugal international looks set to finally seal his dream move to Bayern Munich this summer.

Journalist Dean Jones suggests the Cottagers are eyeing Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Man City's Kalvin Phillips as potential replacements for Palhinha.

Fulham are reportedly targeting a Premier League-proven name this summer as they look to replace their leader of recent seasons in Palhinha.

Marco Silva's side are also considering several names across Europe, including ex-Man United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, Sporting Lisbon's Morten Hjulmand and Benfica's Florentino Luis.

Fulham's 'Little Aeroplane' takes flight in the Euros on his 50th birthday - thanks to Real Madrid's star in the making
By Yann Tear at BVB Stadion Dortmund

Can it really be 17 full years since he donned the white shirts of Fulham? The history books cannot be denied. It really was that long ago.

At the time he arrived at Craven Cottage for a loan spell in 2007 it seemed as if there must have been some kind of administrative **** up. Here is the sequence of his playing career: Empoli, Genoa, Sampdoria, Roma...Fulham. say what?

Vincenzo Montella's stay was really brief at the Cottage. In six months with the Whites  he made only 10 appearances under Chris Coleman, who did not seem to trust the man dubbed 'Aeroplanino' or Liitle Aeroplane for the manner of his trademark arm-spreading goal celebrations.

And yet he soon became a fan favourite, scoring twice on his home debut against Leicester City in the FA Cup.

That quirky interlude still lingers warmly  in the minds of plenty of Whites fans who may have been surprised to notice the Italian with a managerial CV that includes Milan now rocking up in Istanbul as Turkey's national team coach.

Right now, it will feel like a good decision (he took over last September) as he has some talented players to work with - not least the young Real Madrid striker Arda Guler.

It was Guler's sublime left foot finish from an angle outside the box that guided the Turks to a win in their opening game in the Euros and he was a menace to tournament debutante Georgia throughout.

In a match of raucous high-octane passion in Dortmund,  Montella looked at home in Roberto Mancini impersonation mode - white trainers and suit...his watch glinting in the stadium floodlights on a rain-soaked  Rhineland afternoon.

He had two great moments to celebrate on his 50th birthday as the first half volley from Mert Muldur which gave his side the lead, was a magnificent hit.

His captain and playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu is another reason for Montella to get excited about how far his team might progress in a group that also includes Portugal and the Czech Republic.

It was another excellent match in an impressive week for the German tournament and Georgia played their part to the full.

Their equaliser through Georges Mikautadze of French club Metz gave them a moment to savour, and they hit the bar in a gutsy pursuit of an equaliser and almost scored twice at the death before shipping a third goal to Kerem Akturkoglu in a breakaway after Georgia 's keeper Mamardasvili had joined the attack at a corner in injury time.

It was a great advert for Euro 24. For Montella, it was a birthday he is unlikely to forget as he joined the post match adulation of Turkish fans. He had a poncho on by now to cope with the rain. A slight loss of elegance that was a small price to pay.

Review: Taking a Closer Look at Fulham's 2023/24 Campaign
Fulham's Season Review: Stability Amidst Challenges

The 2023/24 season for Fulham was a test of resilience and strategic adjustments. In a detailed analysis on "The Two Footed Podcast" on EPL Index, host Dave Hendrick provided an in-depth look at Fulham's performance, managerial decisions, and transfer market activities. This article captures the essence of those discussions, highlighting key points and direct quotes from the podcast to provide a comprehensive season review.

Fulham's Steady League Performance
Fulham finished the season in 13th position, a commendable achievement given the circumstances. "All things considered, it was a successful season for them," remarked Dave Hendrick. Fulham, under the management of Marco Silva, faced numerous challenges including the departure of key players like Aleksandar Mitrovic. Despite these setbacks, the team managed to maintain their Premier League status comfortably.

The team's journey began with a win against Everton, followed by a mix of results. Hendrick noted, "They had some good results like the draw against Arsenal and beating Luton at home, but also suffered disappointing losses such as the home defeat to Brentford." This inconsistency highlighted the need for strategic squad improvements, particularly in defence and attack.

Transfer Market and Key Signings
Fulham's transfer activities were a mix of hits and misses. Key signings included Raul Jimenez, Calvin Bassey, Timothy Castagne, and Alex Iwobi. "Jimenez did okay, Bassey was a mixed bag, and Adama Traore was overall quite disappointing," Hendrick observed. However, the arrival of Castagne and Iwobi proved beneficial, providing much-needed stability in defence and midfield.

Hendrick emphasized the importance of smart acquisitions, stating, "Fulham need to address their defensive frailties by signing a reliable centre-back and a backup left-back." The departure of Tosin Adarabioyo to Chelsea on a free transfer and Tim Ream's potential move back to the U.S. has left gaps in the defence that need urgent filling.

Cup Competitions and Tactical Shifts
Fulham's cup runs were marked by mixed fortunes. They reached the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, a notable achievement that included victories over Spurs and Ipswich. "They knocked out Spurs on penalties and terrorized both parts of the Old Firm," Hendrick highlighted. However, their FA Cup journey ended early with a home defeat to Newcastle in the fourth round.

Tactically, Marco Silva's management was pivotal in navigating the season's challenges. "Silva is a really good manager, quite underrated," Hendrick stated. Silva's ability to adapt and maintain team morale amidst transfer uncertainties and injuries played a crucial role in Fulham's mid-table finish. The emphasis on defensive solidity and strategic use of the squad were key aspects of Silva's approach.

Looking Ahead to Next Season
As Fulham prepares for the next season, several key areas need addressing. Hendrick pointed out the need for reinforcing the defence and adding depth to the midfield and wide areas. "Fulham should look for at least one winger, a defensive midfielder, a starting centre-back, a backup centre-back, and a backup left-back," he advised.

The potential sale of Joao Palhinha and securing a solid replacement will be critical. "If Palhinha leaves, getting a good replacement is crucial," Hendrick emphasized. The goal will be to build on the stability achieved this season and aim for a higher finish in the league table.

In conclusion, Fulham's 2023/24 season showcased their ability to remain competitive despite numerous challenges. Strategic signings, effective management, and a clear focus on strengthening weak areas will be essential as they look forward to the next Premier League campaign.

Fulham, West Ham United vying for Cameron Carter-Vickers
London duo West Ham United and Fulham are keen on Celtic mainstay Cameron Carter-Vickers to solve their defensive problems.

According to HITC, Cameron Carter-Vickers could get his opportunity over to return to London and play Premier League football again. Fulham and West Ham United are keen to target the Celtic mainstay this summer, as the London duo are keen on adding a strong defender to their squad.

London clubs want Cameron Carter-Vickers
Celtic paid a modest sum of £6 million to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham after a season on loan, and the move has paid massive dividends. The defender has made over 100 appearances for the Scottish champions and is considered a key element of their team under manager Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic handed him a five-and-a-half-year deal back in January. But that may not stop the 26-year-old English-born American defender from returning to the Premier League, where Fulham and West Ham are showing an interest. Ipswich Town are also in the mood to test the Scottish side with an offer, but a move back to London may be what attracts the defender.

Fulham are in the market for a new centre-back after losing key man Tosin Adarabioyo on the free to Chelsea earlier this month. The Cottagers have other problems, such as finding a replacement for Bayern Munich-linked Joao Palhinha. But a central defender will be high on Marco Silva's agenda.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have been very active in the market for a new central defender and have suffered some setbacks in different chases. Carter-Vickers boasts plenty of experience to come into either the Hammers or the Cottagers, as the 26-year-old English-born American defender can have an immediate impact on proceedings. All eyes will be on Celtic's asking price, as they have the power in negotiations.

Fulham, West Ham chasing defenders?
Fulham are steadily entering the market to find a replacement for Adarabioyo and have signalled their intention to sign a few names. Luton Town's Teden Mengi is a reported target for the Cottagers, while they might explore other names from outside of England as well.

As for West Ham, they may have suffered a few setbacks in their pursuit of signing a new defender, but they have other names on their list. Udinese star Neheun Perez is an option, while they are also considering a move for Le Havre's promising defender Etienne Youte Kinkoue ahead of the next few weeks.

West Ham "Flop" to Fulham
Fulham are considering a surprise move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to a report from GIVEMESPORT. The England international, labeled a "flop" at West Ham by the outlet, could be a potential replacement for Fulham's key midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Phillips' struggles continue after a hefty £45 million transfer to Manchester City in 2022. Failing to break into Pep Guardiola's starting lineup, he was loaned to West Ham in January with hopes of reviving his form before Euro 2024. However, the loan spell proved disastrous. Phillips managed only 10 appearances, marred by a red card and a tense incident with West Ham fans.

Back at City with four years remaining on his contract, Phillips seems destined for another exit. Fulham, under Marco Silva, are now touted as a possible destination.

The report suggests Manchester City might be willing to take a significant loss on Phillips, potentially accepting a fee as low as £25 million to offload the midfielder.

This is a pretty poor article. Bassey was a mixed bag?
