Tottenham told loan deal or no deal to sign Joachim Andersen from Fulham
John Wenham believes Tottenham will need to agree a loan deal to sign Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose doesn't think the centre-back will be made available permanently.

As reported by CaughtOffside (19 November), Tottenham, Juventus and Liverpool are all interested in Andersen. The Denmark international was signed by Fulham from Crystal Palace for £30million this past summer, penning a five-year deal at Craven Cottage (via BBC Sport, 23 August).

As a result, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn't think Marco Silva's side would let the 28-year-old go so soon.

"Andersen is a good player, but he only joined Fulham this summer," Wenham said.

"Therefore, I don't see a permanent transfer happening. Tottenham were linked with him previously and didn't make a move then.

"I don't see that transfer happening unless Tottenham agree a loan deal. I just can't see a permanent transfer happening."

Tottenham to agree loan deal for Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen?
It was previously speculated that Fulham could accept a £30million bid for Andersen, which seems fair value for an experienced Premier League player who could fit seamlessly into Ange Postecoglou's side.

However, if he is only available on loan, Spurs might need to rethink their interest, and Postecoglou must decide how desperately he feels as though he needs a centre-back.

If the Australian feels this position needs filing urgently, Andersen could be a suitable option till the end of the season. However, if the Spurs boss is thinking more long-term, then the North London club might be forced to look elsewhere.

Tottenham star Dominic Solanke must capitalise on Fulham injury blow
Dominic Solanke must capitalise on Joachim Andersen's absence when Tottenham host Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs will be looking to get back to winning ways against the Cottagers after their 2-2 UEFA Europa League draw with Roma at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday [28 November].

It was a frustrating evening for Ange Postecoglou, with one player letting his manager down after a "ridiculous" incident.

However, after their 4-0 Premier League victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium [23 November], Spurs will be confident of claiming three points against Marco Silva's side, who have been dealt a severe injury blow ahead of their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium [1 December].

As per the London Evening Standard [29 November], Andersen will be unavailable for the London derby after suffering an injury in Fulham's 4-1 Premier League defeat against Wolves at Craven Cottage [23 December].

And one man who will be particularly boosted by that news is Solanke.

Dominic Solanke to return to scoring ways for Tottenham against Fulham?
Andersen has been a key player for Fulham this term. As per fbref, the 28-year-old ranks in the 99th percentile of Premier League defenders this season for the number of long passes he has completed [9.31 per 90] and the number of switches he has played [1.61 per 90].

Andersen also ranks in the 92nd percentile for the number of passes he has played into the final third [7.47 per 90] and the 90th percentile for his progressive passing distance [502.76 yards per 90].

It is clear to see why Spurs are interested in the centre-back [via CaughtOffside, 19 November], who could be available for £30million.

The Dane's absence will no doubt cause serious disruption to the Fulham backline, which Solanke must look to capitalise on. Spurs' talisman is without a goal in his last four games for club and country, with the 27-year-old struggling against Roma.

As per Sofascore, Solanke missed two big chances and succeeded with just 25 per cent of his attempted dribbles. In addition, he won just three of his 12 ground duels and lost all six of his aerial duels.

Therefore, it is clear that the striker needs a goal to get his confidence back, and the absence of Andersen should boost the chances of him getting that goal against Fulham on Sunday.

Chris Sutton predicts a four-goal game between Tottenham and Fulham
Chris Sutton expects Tottenham Hotspur to defeat Fulham on Sunday, but there is one Spurs player he is concerned about.

Spurs have a strong attacking threat
Tottenham have not had long to rest since their draw in the Europa League, as they take on Fulham in an early afternoon kick-off on Sunday.

Having beaten Manchester City 4-0 in their most recent Premier League match, Spurs find themselves in a promising position, three points off their cross-city rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea, who sit third and fourth in the league table.

While Spurs managed a clean sheet in their last league outing, the main talking point has been their outstanding attacking play. They are the top-scoring team in the English top flight, with 27 goals, three more than Liverpool who have the second most, and they have created 42 big chances overall.

And unlike in times past, Spurs are no longer reliant on an individual to score most of their goals, as despite finding the back of the net more than any other team, their joint top scorers, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson, have five league goals each, which shows that Spurs can be dangerous without having one key goalscorer.

Sutton thinks Tottenham will beat Fulham
Chris Sutton has predicted a Tottenham win, but he has concerns over whether Fraser Forster, who replaces the injured Guglielmo Vicario, can adapt to Ange Postecoglou's style of play.

He said: "I love watching Tottenham and what they do. They were missing Micky van de ven and Cristian Romero against Manchester City last week but went to Etihad Stadium, played brilliantly and kept a clean sheet too.

"The big worry for Spurs is that Guglielmo Vicario got injured in that game. Fraser Forster is an excellent goalkeeper who has had a great career but he is not renowned for being brilliant with his feet.

"Forster can appear a bit clunky on the ball, a little bit like I did when I played for Chelsea, and that could be an issue because of the way Ange Postecoglou wants Spurs to play.

"Fulham were on the opposite end of a four-goal scoreline at home to Wolves last weekend but, going off what I have seen from them this season, that is likely to be a one-off.

"The Cottagers have scored in every game this season apart from their opening-weekend defeat at Old Trafford, and they will be dangerous here too.

"So, I don't think this will be easy for Spurs but if their forwards play like they did against City, they will come out on top again."

Despite his reservation over Forster, Sutton has predicted Tottenham to secure a 3-1 victory against their fellow Londoners.

No Guglielmo Vicario, no problem for Tottenham
Every goalkeeper has their flaws and this is as true about Vicario as anyone. The Italian shot-stopper has faced a great amount of criticism for failing to deal with set pieces, which has seen Spurs concede a number of goals from both free kicks and corners.

Forster may not be known for his ability with the ball at his feet, but former Spurs man, Joe Hart, also struggled in this area, yet played as Postecogolou's first-choice goalkeeper at Celtic.

With no other realistic starting options in the position, it is important for everyone to get behind Forster, and with him successfully completing 30 of the 36 passes he played against Roma, perhaps his distribution is not the 'big worry' Sutton has proclaimed it to be, only time will tell.

Ex-Man Utd star opens door for January transfer with 'very cool' admission
Fulham's former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira was the subject of summer interest from the Premier League and beyond but ended up staying in West London

Andreas Pereira has given Fulham cause for concern after admitting he would find it "very cool" to join Roberto De Zerbi's Marseille.

The Ligue 1 club were interested in Pereira over the summer, as were Nottingham Forest. The Brazil midfielder ended up staying at Craven Cottage, though, and has started all 12 Premier League matches under Marco Silva this term.

Pereira joined Fulham from Manchester United in 2022, having spent more than a decade on the books of the Red Devils after joining aged 16. He played Champions League and Europa League football for United, and a move to Marseille could offer the opportunity of more action in one of those competitions.

Marseille finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season, but at the time of writing they sit third under new boss De Zerbi. The ex-Brighton manager has already brought in several players from the Premier League, including former United forward Mason Greenwood and Spurs loanee Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Pereira could end up becoming the next arrival.

"From outside [England] arrived [an offer] from Marseille," Pereira told PL Brasil (via the Standard). We talked, and unfortunately it didn't work. In the last few days [of the summer window], also [there was interest] from Nottingham Forest.

"It would be very cool [to go to Marseille], the way [Roberto] De Zerbi plays soccer. I was watching it with good eyes, but let's see now in January or at the end of the season if there will be a transfer or if I will stay at Fulham.

"Sometimes, I see something and I get excited to talk to [agent Giuliano Bertolucci]. I ask, 'Is this happening and you know?' And he always says no. I think: 'Damn, it's complicated.'"

Pereira has scored nine goals in close to 100 Fulham games, netting once this season in a defeat against Manchester City. He has held down a starting spot in West London, already playing more times for Silva's side than he ever did for United, and recognises it was the right decision to leave Old Trafford.

"I think it was the best decision I made in my life," he told the Standard in August. "To come to live and play here, to enjoy my football, to get back into the national team with great players, to enjoy my football in the Premier League, leaving is the best decision I made.

"The time I was there, I really enjoyed being at a fantastic club. But I don't regret leaving. We [the players in my situation] have this desire to show it was wrong that we didn't play. With everyone's help around me [at Fulham], I achieved a great season.

"[Marco Silva] is responsible for me coming to Fulham. I will always be grateful for everything he has done for me. I have to show the trust he has in me by keeping doing what I am doing. You can dream about Europe, we should dream of Europe. It's a good thing to start the season thinking about this kind of objective."

Tottenham vs Fulham score predicted as Ange Postecoglou told of defensive concern
Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham welcome Marco Silva's Fulham side to north London this weekend

Tottenham will be hoping to build on their impressive 4-0 win to Manchester City when they face Fulham this weekend.

Ange Postecoglou's side go into the London derby in sixth place in the Premier League, with Fulham down in ninth. It's been an inconsistent season so far for the Lilywhites but most pundits believe Spurs should have enough quality to be victorious against Fulham.

Alan Shearer, speaking to Betfair, believes Postecoglou's squad should go on a decent run following that unbelievable Man City performance. The former Newcastle striker said: "Spurs will have too much at home, particularly after their win against Man City. The confidence they'll take will go into the game this weekend, albeit they'll have to do it without Vicario.

"What Spurs have lacked is consistency. They get great results like the one against Man City and you look at the team and that performance and wonder how they can lose to Ipswich and Crystal Palace. That's what Spurs' problem has been.

"That result last weekend should give them the confidence to go on a long run now and consistently take points rather than being beaten by Ipswich. I think Spurs will have too much for Fulham, and they need to follow up that great result last weekend."

Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton agrees with Shearer. Writing in his weekly BBC column, Sutton backed Tottenham to win 3-1 but did raise one particular defensive concern.

Forster can appear a bit clunky on the ball, a little bit like I did when I played for Chelsea, and that could be an issue because of the way Ange Postecoglou wants Spurs to play.

"Fulham were on the opposite end of a four-goal scoreline at home to Wolves last weekend but, going off what I have seen from them this season, that is likely to be a one-off. The Cottagers have scored in every game this season apart from their opening-weekend defeat at Old Trafford, and they will be dangerous here too. So, I don't think this will be easy for Spurs but if their forwards play like they did against City, they will come out on top again."

Mark Lawrenson also backed Tottenham to secure another vital three points in their quest to finish in the top four. In his weekly Paddy Power column, the former Liverpool man said: "I know what they're like but you have to back Tottenham after they destroyed Manchester City 4-0 last week. This will be another good game, quite a lot of the fixtures this week look like good contests. Fulham are well coached but Spurs are good at home. Tottenham 2-1 Fulham."

Opposition Preview: Fulham
How Sunday's opponents are shaping up

Tomorrow afternoon, for the slightly unconventional kick off time of 13:30 GMT, Spurs will take to the field for match day thirteen of the 24/25 Premier League season, as they welcome Fulham across London to The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

So, what can we expect from Fulham ahead of the game?

How Fulham look ahead of the showdown on Sunday afternoon
It has been a positive start to the season from Marco Silva's side, who have picked up 18 points from their 19 games so far – just one fewer than Spurs. Considering the pre-season expectations, the Cottagers should be pretty happy with their start to the campaign.

The start is even more impressive when you consider they lost star man Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich in the summer. Last season, they managed to cope well despite the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic to the Middle East, and they have shown again this season, that they can compete despite such a key player departing.

Furthermore, the West London outfit are unfortunate not to have more points, having been by far the better team in a very unlucky 3-2 defeat at Manchester City a while back. In a home defeat to Aston Villa, Andreas Pereira had a penalty saved at 1-1, which no doubt would have changed the swing of the game.

There is a possibility that the attacking trio behind striker Raul Jimenez could be made of Arsenal academy graduates – Emile Smith-Rowe, Alex Iwobi, and Reiss Nelson, with the latter still being contracted to the club, so you can be sure they will receive plenty from the home end.

Still, despite this, there is no doubt that Smith-Rowe is a key dangerman for Fulham, and Spurs will have to be wary of his threat. The midfielder likes to pick up those pockets in the final third, and his ball carrying has been a consistent danger to opponents all season.

Last time out, Fulham were not as unfortunate as they been in other defeats – as they got thrashed 4-1 at home to Wolves, where Spurs linked Matheus Cunha scored two goals, and provided a further assist. That said, part of the reason the scoreline got so heavy was because central defender Joachim Andersen went off injured, after all five subs had been made.

On that note, should that injury keep him out of this game, it would be a huge boost for Spurs. On Thursday night, we saw two opposition central defenders find the back of the net, and Andersen would have carried a big threat in that regard. Furthermore, his exceptional long passing could have found Ange's side wanting over the top of their own defence.

Plenty of people have said that it would be very typical of Spurs to drop points against Fulham, after battering Manchester City. Let's hope that the 'Spursy' narrative was used up in the AS Roma game, and Spurs can have a clean slate for this one.

Silva: 'We have to be brave'
Fulham head coach Marco Silva has urged his side to be brave when they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

The Portuguese boss knows the Whites face a serious challenge as they look to bounce book from a chastening home defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend against Ange Postecoglou's side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs, held to a late draw by Roma in Europe on Thursday night, were simply magnificent as they outclassed Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

Whilst cognisant of the danger Tottenham pose, Silva wants his side to play with his purpose. He told his pre-match press conference at Motspur Park this afternoon:

"I think their identity is clear. It's clear what Ange wants from their players. We understand enough from playing against them last season the way they play. They added one or two players last summer for the way they want to play, adding even more pace in the attack line, and more intensity in the first press as well. They have a striker [Dominic Solanke] that has the capacity to be really strong in the first press.

It's clear, the identity, the way they want to play, looking always for the opposition goal, and trying always to create chances, create a scenario that when they build up, they put a lot of players in front of the ball, a lot of bodies between the lines as well. They have the capacity to create different scenarios and different problems for the opposition side. We know what they are going to do, of course we are aware of it, it's up to us to keep our organisation really strong, and quality in our defensive organisation.

It's a game where we have to brave. Brave, like we normally are against any team, and we have to go there to be brave enough to challenge them and to match them, to fight for the three points. If you fear something, if you aren't brave enough, if we don't express ourselves on the pitch, it's going to be much more difficult. We are going to be Fulham Football Club inside the Tottenham stadium, and it's definitely going to be a good game, because we are capable of doing good things and facing a team of the quality of Tottenham."

Pereira pines for Marseille move
Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira has indicated his interest in making a January move to French outfit Marseille, according to reports in the Brazilian press.

The Brazilian international, who returned to the national team after a six-year break largely on account of his form at Craven Cottage, openly discussed his disappointment that offers from the Ligue 1 side and Nottingham Forest were rejected in the summer – but seemed to leave the door open to a potential exit.

Pereira said:

"From outside [England] arrived [an offer] from Marseille. We talked, and unfortunately it didn't work. In the last few days [of the summer window], also [there was interest] from Nottingham Forest. "From outside [England] arrived [an offer] from Marseille. We talked, and unfortunately it didn't work. In the last few days [of the summer window], also [there was interest] from Nottingham Forest.

"As I was on vacation, I was more in contact with him [Giuliano Bertolucci, Pereira's agent]. But he always warns me, telling me: 'Look, there's an interested club, let's see what happens'. It would be very cool [to go to Marseille], the way [Roberto] De Zerbi plays soccer. I was watching it with good eyes, but let's see now in January or at the end of the season if there will be a transfer or if I will stay at Fulham. Osmand double downs Leeds
A second half double from Callum Osmand helped Fulham's under 21s come from behind to beat Leeds United at Motspur Park last night to register a fourth win in succession.

The hosts showed some character to shrug off the early setback of going behind within five minutes to largely dominant the contest with Welsh youth international Osmand showcasing his quality by levelling the scores with a superb individual effort before securing the points with his second of the evening eighteen minutes from time.

The relief at the final whistle was in stark contrast to a terrible start as Fulham's back line was caught horrible square by a through ball from Sam Chambers. Josh McDonald's intelligent run saw him through on goal and the winger's clever chip over an onrushing Alex Borto gave Leeds the lead.

Terrell Works threatened a quick reply with a strong run but his eventual shot was blocked before Kristian Sekularac saw his effort from Aaron Loupalo-Bi's cross deflected just wide of the target. Chris Donnell then thudded a powerful header against the crossbar from Sekularac's free-kick as the visiting defence came under serious pressure. Sekularac looked the most likely source of an equaliser but, although his corner caught out Leeds goalkeeper Rory Mahady, Eddy Nsasi couldn't supply the finishing touch at the far post.

Osmand saw a strike from the edge of the box bravely blocked by Dan Toulson before he fired wide having worked a similar opening for himself. It might have been worse for Fulham but for a fine save from Borto, who did brilliantly to get fingertips to a deflected free-kick from Rhys Chadwick just before the half-time whistle.

The pattern of the first half continued after the resumption with Hayden Mullins' side proving relentless in search of a leveller. Mahady spread himself to deny Works three minutes in the second period, but it looked straightforward to the in-form Loupalo-Bi to net the follow-up but the striker somehow blazed over from ten yards. Fulham kept their composure and were rewarded when Osmand produced a sublime strike eight minutes in the second half after collecting a clever pass from Works. He worked the ball onto his right foot and fired past the Leeds goalkeeper with real venom.

Loupalo-Bi lashed over shortly afterwards having burst through the middle of the pitch and it was the lively striker who bustled his way to the byline before cutting the ball back for Osmand to grab his second with an assured first-time finish. Leeds roused themselves as they went in search of a late equaliser. McDonald fired into the side netting from an acute angle, but their hopes of getting something out of the game were dented when Chadwick was shown a second yellow card after raising his fists in an off-the-ball altercation deep into stoppage time.

FULHAM UNDER 21s (4-2-3-1): Borto; Gofford, Nwoko, Nsasi, Park; Donnell, Sekularac; Osmand, Works, Gordon (Khan 90+2); Loupalo-Bi (Olyott 90+2). Subs (not used): Underwood, Picotto, Schuttler.

GOALS: Osmand (53, 73).

LEEDS UNITED UNDER 21s (4-2-3-1): Mahady; Richards, Bird, Lopata-White, Toulson; Chadwick, Creswell; Douglas (Lane 76), McDonald, Snowdon; Chambers (Vincent 65). Subs (not used): Grainger, Dudley, Pickles.

BOOKED: Snowdon, Chadwick, Richards.

SENT OFF: Chadwick (90+5).

GOAL: McDonald (5).

REFEREE: Andrew Humphries.

Andersen poised for spell on the sidelines
Injuries to Joachim Andersen and Jorge Cuenca mean that Marco Silva will only be able to call upon two fit senior centre backs when Fulham travel to Tottenham Hotspur for another London derby on Sunday afternoon.

Andersen is set for a significant spell on the sidelines after limping out of last weekend's 4-1 defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers after picking up a calf strain. Spanish defender Cuenca injured himself during training this week – and injury could deny Ryan Sessegnon a return to his former club this weekend as well.

Fulham head coach Marco Silva told his pre-match press conference this afternoon:

"Joachim is one of the players who is going to be out. Jorge Cuenca as well. Jorge got a knock during the week, and is going to be out of the game, too. Harrison Reed, as you know, as well. Ryan Sessegnon is still doubtful for the game. We have these four situations, these four players. Apart from that, all the others are going to be available.

Jorge I think is going to be [back] quicker than Joachim. Joachim is going to be out for some games. It's difficult to sit here and be clear about the timeline, when he's going to be ready, but it's going to be the next few games."

"How this club works"- Arsenal legend warns Tottenham of reality check ahead of Fulham clash
Tottenham Hotspur aim to build on their stunning 4-0 victory over Manchester City as they prepare to host Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.

Despite a 2-2 draw against Roma in the UEFA Europa League, Spurs remain in a strong position to advance to the knockout stages. However, their current sixth-place standing in the Premier League falls short of their ambitions, making the clash against Fulham a crucial opportunity to climb the table.

Tottenham must keep securing victories to break into the Premier League's top four, as they currently trail fourth-placed Arsenal by three points. Their next challenge comes against Fulham, who sit just a point behind Spurs in the table.

Paul Merson has expressed doubt over Tottenham's reliability, predicting that their inconsistency could resurface when they face Fulham in North London.

Paul Merson backs Fulham to upset Tottenham
Tottenham may still be riding high after their impressive win against Manchester City, but Fulham will look to bounce back from their 4-1 thrashing by Wolves last weekend.

Paul Merson, however, believes Marco Silva's side can match Tottenham stride for stride, insisting their performance against Wolves wasn't as poor as the scoreline suggested. The Arsenal legend also criticised Tottenham's inconsistency, describing it as one step forward and two steps back, and predicted a surprising 2-1 loss for Spurs on their home turf.

Merson in his column for Sportskeeda, wrote

"Despite Tottenham beating Manchester City 4-0 and Fulham losing 4-1 to Wolves, it wouldn't surprise me if Spurs drop points in this game,"

"That is how this club works. Tottenham can either wipe the floor with teams or comfortably get beat. Remember it was only two weeks ago they lost 2-1 to an Ipswich side that had not won until then.

Tottenham drop huge Micky van de Ven injury return hint before Fulham clash
Latest Tottenham injury news with a big Micky Van de Ven update coming to light ahead of the Premier League clash against Fulham

Tottenham have provided a major injury update on Micky van de Ven before the Premier League clash at home to Fulham. The Netherlands international has been absent since the Carabao Cup win over Manchester City in late October because of a hamstring issue.

Since joining in the summer of 2023, Van de Ven has been hit by three separate hamstring injuries that has thus far seen him miss 15 games and counting. Defensive issued have hampered Ange Postecoglou significantly since his arrival with Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie also missing lots of action.

Guglielmo Vicario is the latest fitness blow at the back with the Spurs goalkeeper expected to miss the next two months because of a fractured ankle. Returns for Van de Ven and Romero, however, will come much sooner with the latter in contention to feature against Fulham on Sunday.

"Romero is closer, he's probably the closest but again probably unlikely, but I'm not ruling him out," the Tottenham boss admitted on Friday in a press conference. "He's got to get through a few things today and then we've got a session tomorrow.

Speaking to Spurs TV about Van de Ven specifically, he added: "Yeah, Micky is still on course, working harder, training again. It is sort of day by day with him. We just gotta again make sure he ticks all the boxes before he gets reintegrated in."

Judging by Postecoglou's comments alongside Van de Ven's injury history, it appears Spurs will be carefully managing his return to the fold. With that being said, on Friday afternoon, Tottenham uploaded a montage of Van de Ven which showed parts of his rehabilitation.

In the 64-second clip, the defender is shown working in the gym before heading out onto the grass at Hotspur Way. Though it was an individual session, it was undertaken at a very high pace which suggests he is pushing towards a return to team training and following that, the starting XI.

With the busy Christmas period on the horizon, Postecoglou will be hoping to have Van de Ven available soon but that being the case for Sunday's London derby against Fulham is extremely unlikely, despite the progression he has seemingly made.

Fulham looking to achieve first-time feat in Tottenham clash
Fulham will have the chance to create a piece of club history when they face Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's Premier League clash.

Marco Silva's side experienced a disappointing 4-1 defeat in last Saturday's home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, bringing an end to a three-game unbeaten run.

The Cottagers will still be content with their 18-point tally, leaving them in 12th place and four points adrift of the top four.

They will now be fully focused on Sunday's short away trip, with the visitors hoping to create history at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fulham targeting club history in Spurs clash
Fulham have the chance to go unbeaten in eight consecutive London derbies in the Premier League, having avoided defeat in each of their last seven top-flight matches against their fellow sides from the capital (W4, D3).

Their most recent defeat in a Premier League London derby took place in January when they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Incidentally, Fulham kicked off their unbeaten run against London teams with a commanding 3-0 win in March's home meeting with Tottenham.

The Cottagers have already played three London derbies in the Premier League this season, drawing with West Ham United in September, before beating Brentford and Crystal Palace in November.

As a result of those two wins, Fulham now have the opportunity to win three consecutive Premier League London derbies for the first time since 2013.

Fulham out to continue scoring run
Fulham have scored in 11 consecutive Premier League games since they drew a blank in a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in May.

As a result of that run, the Cottagers are now on the brink of scoring in 12 successive top-flight games for the first time since 1967.

After beating Palace in their most recent road trip, the visitors are also looking to claim back-to-back away league wins for the first time in Silva's tenure.

Fulham will have to make do without the services of Joachim Andersen, Jorge Cuenca and Harrison Reed, while Ryan Sessegnon is a doubt for Sunday's fixture.

Former Sunderland, Wales and Fulham manager announced as new OH Leuven head coach
OH Leuven have made a surprising appointment as their new head coach. Former Wales, Sunderland and Fulham manager Chris Coleman has signed a deal until 2026. The head coach had recently been in charge of AEL Limassol in the Cypriot league but left the side three days ago. He had only taken over at the club in the summer but clearly felt tempted to move to Belgium to take over from Oscar Garcia as head coach of OH Leuven.

Coleman had his greatest success as head coach of Wales between 2012 and 2017, helping the side qualify for major tournaments. He struggled to keep Sunderland up following his depature from the Welsh national team and has since managed a number of clubs. Prior to joining AEL he had been in charge of Greek side Atromitos Athens.

Coleman takes over a side that has been underperforming this season and the club will hope his experience will be enough to turn things around. He was certainly not a name that many would have expected and rumours have surfaced that the side had originally agreed a deal with another head coach, who ended up taking a different job before signing.

Coleman will be in the stands s the side face Anderlecht at home on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham vs Fulham: Preview and Prediction
Tottenham Hotspur will host Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, looking to return to winning ways.

Tottenham Hotspur are sixth in the table, and they will look to push for UEFA Champions League qualification, starting with the match against Fulham. Spurs need to win games like these to stand the chance of finishing high up the table.

The North Londoners have done quite well against the Cottagers in recent meetings, and they have picked up 4 wins from the last 6 clashes between the two sides. Meanwhile, Fulham are coming into this game on the back of just two wins from their last six league matches, and they will be desperate to bounce back strongly.

The West Londoners managed to beat Tottenham back in March, and they will be hoping for a similar result here. Fulham have looked quite vulnerable defensively in recent weeks, and they will need to improve immensely to grind out a good result. The Hard Tackle takes a closer look at the encounter ahead of the latest meeting between teh two sides

Team News & Tactics
Tottenham Hotspur

Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert, and Richarlison are ruled out with hamstring issues. Meanwhile, Guglielmo Vicario is sidelined after his ankle surgery. Rodrigo Bentancur remains suspended.

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Fulham, with Fraser Forster in goal. Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie will start as the full-backs, and they will look to help out at both ends of the pitch. Cristian Romero will start alongside Radu Dragusin at the heart of the defence.

As for the midfield unit, Yves Bissouma will start alongside Pape Matar Sarr in the double pivot. They will look to protect the back four and win the ball back for their side. James Maddison will start in the central attacking midfield role, and he will look to create goalscoring chances for his side.

Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min will start in the wide areas, and they will add pace, flair and goals to the side. Dominic Solanke will lead the line for Tottenham Hotspur against Fulham on Sunday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Forster; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke

Fulham
As for the midfield unit, Sasa Lukic and Andreas Pereira will start in the double pivot, and they will add defensive cover and control from the deep. Emile Smith Rowe will start in the attacking midfield role, and he will look to create goalscoring chances for his teammates. Adama Traore will start in the wide areas, along with Alex Iwobi. Raul Jimenez will lead the line for Fulham.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Pereira; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez

Key Stats

Tottenham have won eight of their last ten home games against Fulham.
12 goals have been scored in the last six meetings between these two teams.
Tottenham are unbeaten in four of the last six matches in all competitions.
Fulham have lost three of the last six matches in all competitions.
Fulham have conceded 12 goals in the last six matches in all competitions.

Player to Watch
Dejan Kulusevski

The Swedish international has been quite impressive for Tottenham and he is our key player to watch out for. The North London club will depend on him to create goal-scoring opportunities with his passing, vision and technical ability in the final third.

He will look to get on the score sheet as well. Fulham have been quite vulnerable defensively and the Swedish international has the quality to exploit their frailties.

Prediction
Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Fulham

Tottenham are the better team here, and they are in better form. Spurs have done quite well against Fulham at home, and they should be able to extend their impressive run of form against the Cottagers.

Fulham will be desperate to grind out a good result here but their leaky defence is likely to let them down. A comprehensive home win for Tottenham is on the cards. The Hard Tackle predicts a 3-1 win for Ange Postecoglou and his charges.

Leicester City, Fulham suffer crushing blow in Evan Ferguson pursuit ahead of January window
Leicester City and Fulham have suffered a blow in the pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.

It was reported in early November that a host of Premier League sides were keen on the services of the forward ahead of the January transfer window.

Articles suggested that Ferguson had been put on the loan list for New Year, meaning that he could be an easy target for top-flight suitors.

The Irishman has struggled to make an impact on the South Coast since the arrival of new head coach Fabian Hurzeler following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.

Since making the switch from Bohemians during the summer of 2021, Ferguson has netted on 17 occasions across 75 first-team appearances for the Seagulls.

"Mischievous rumours" - Brighton CEO shuts down Ferguson talk
Speaking to talkSPORT, Brighton CEO Paul Barber has poured cold water over the idea of young striker Ferguson leaving the South Coast club in the New Year.

"Evan is a really important part of the squad. Sometimes mischievous rumours emerge from various strange places and one or two journalists will buy into those ideas, put out there by one or two other clubs perhaps in some cases," said Brighton man Barber.

"But Evan is very happy, we are very happy with Evan, we expect him to be an important of the squad throughout the season.

"Unfortunately, sometimes in this business we know that the rumour mill and the noise on the outside is stuff you have to ignore."

Ferguson has also been linked to the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal in the past, although that particular duo was not mentioned in a potential loan pursuit of the player.

Back to the drawing board for Leicester
With Brighton's hierarchy openly shutting down rumours of a potential King Power Stadium switch for Ferguson, Leicester will need to look elsewhere ahead of the January window.

It appears as if the Foxes are in need of serious reinforcements, especially following a 4-1 battering at Brentford in the league on Saturday afternoon.

Incoming head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy watched from the stands as Leicester were convincingly beat at the Gtech Community Stadium, although Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte managed to open the scoring during the West London contest.

Fulham boss Marco Silva sends ex-Arsenal stars message in bid to get one over on Tottenham
TOTTENHAM vs FULHAM: Marco Silva wants his former Gunners to thrive when the Cottagers lock horns with Spurs on Sunday in the Premier League

Marco Silva has urged his ex-Arsenal stars to inspire Fulham to victory at Tottenham.

Three points would see the Cottagers leapfrog their London counterparts in the table as Silva's side bid to bounce back from last weekend's shock home thrashing at the hands of Wolves. And the Fulham boss wants Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi, all Gunners academy graduates, to make themselves heroes, stating: "I haven't spoken with Emile, Reiss or with Alex about this situation.

"However, probably their feeling is going to be different about the game. The reaction towards them from the Tottenham fans is also probably going to be different than with me or Kenny Tete or Issa Diop.

"If it can give them a different level of motivation, then it would be good for us. They are in Fulham now and they fight really hard for us. I know they are proud to be part of the club in this part of their careers."

"If it can give them a different level of motivation, then it would be good for us. They are in Fulham now and they fight really hard for us. I know they are proud to be part of the club in this part of their careers."

Ahead of the matchup, stubborn Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou boldly declared he is "not interested" in pragmatism after Tottenham threw away a late lead in their Europa League draw with Roma in midweek.

Silva, however, revealed that while he has huge admiration for his opposite number, he had no choice but to evolve in order to make Fulham competitive again in the Premier League.

The Portuguese said: "You adjust things, you are always trying to add things and in life, you can never stand still.

"Yes, in some moments I know I like to play football and be on the front foot but sometimes it does depend on the opponent and whether the other team allows you to do it.

"What I see from Ange is that you can always talk about the identity of the team. You can choose an idea but you have to convince the players.

"I really respect him, I have my idea and identity and what I see from Tottenham is one clear idea from a very good manager and he goes with it until the end."

Fulham will be without imperious centre-back Joachim Andersen this weekend after the Dane suffered a calf injury against Wolves. Harrison Reed, Jorge Cuenca and Ryan Sessegnon are also sidelined.

Tottenham issued transfer ultimatum for Premier League star;loan deal the best bet
Tottenham's inconsistency continues as they sit eighth in the Premier League, preparing to host Fulham at home. With injuries mounting, including Guglielmo Vicario as the latest casualty, squad depth is becoming essential if Spurs hope to compete for a top-four finish.

John Wenham, host of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, believes Tottenham may need to secure a loan deal to sign Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen, as a permanent move seems unlikely.

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham, Juventus, and Liverpool have all expressed interest in Joachim Andersen. The Danish center-back joined Fulham from Crystal Palace this past summer for £30 million, signing a five-year contract at Craven Cottage.

Still in the prime of his career, a move to a top club could prove advantageous for Andersen as he looks to elevate his game on a bigger stage.

Tottenham Eye Loan Move for Joachim Andersen
The Danish international, earning £90,000 gross per week, has showcased his quality across 40 games in his stint with Fulham. Renowned for his height and excellent positioning, Andersen would be a strong addition to Tottenham's squad. While Fulham were previously rumoured to accept a £30 million bid for the defender, his current injury status and potential availability only on loan may prompt Spurs to reassess their interest. Ultimately, Ange Postecoglou must weigh the urgency of strengthening his center-back options.

Wenham – speaking to  – doesn't think Marco Silva's side would let the 28-year-old go so soon.

"Andersen is a good player, but he only joined Fulham this summer,"

"Therefore, I don't see a permanent transfer happening. Tottenham were linked with him previously and didn't make a move then."

"I don't see that transfer happening unless Tottenham agree a loan deal. I just can't see a permanent transfer happening."

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Fulham - Premier League

Tottenham host Fulham on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League
Spurs beat Man City 4-0 in their most recent domestic outing
Ange Postecoglou still short on numbers in defence

Tottenham host Fulham in the Premier League this Sunday as they aim to build some momentum heading into the hectic winter period.

The Lilywhites have been characteristically inconsistent this season, offering glimpses of their brilliance and vulnerabilities across the opening few months of the campaign. They produced their best performance to date last weekend as they demolished Manchester City and maintaining their form during the festive season is essential.

Ange Postecoglou does have injuries to contend with ahead of the visit from Fulham, with his first-choice goalkeeper absent, his preferred central defensive partnership sidelined and several fringe forwards in the treatment room. However, there can be no excuses on Sunday.

Here is how Tottenham could line up this weekend.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Fulham (4-3-3)
GK: Fraser Forster - With Guglielmo Vicario sidelined for the foreseeable future as he recovers from ankle surgery, the experienced Forster will be called upon in his absence. The 36-year-old has been dependable in the Europa League.

RB: Pedro Porro - Having burst the Etihad net last weekend with a thunderous effort, there was no rest for Porro midweek against Roma. The Spaniard produced another encouraging display against the Italian side.

CB: Radu Dragusin - It hasn't been plain sailing for Dragusin at Spurs to date and he rarely inspires confidence in the heart of defence. Cristian Romero could feature this weekend according to Postecoglou but the Romanian is more likely to start.

CB: Ben Davies - Davies has been a steady performer at centre-back in the absence of Micky van de Ven and was particularly impressive at the Etihad Stadium. He will be on high alert when the physical Raul Jimenez arrives in north London.

LB: Destiny Udogie - Udogie was given the night off midweek and will be all the better for it against the in-form Alex Iwobi. The former Arsenal midfielder has been fantastic this season and scored a stunner last time out.

CM: Dejan Kulusevski - Tottenham's most impressive performer this season, Kulusevski continues to thrive in an attacking midfield role - although he was pushed wider against Man City. The Swede's energy is infectious and he often pulls the strings when Spurs are on song.

CM: Yves Bissouma - Rodrigo Bentancur's suspension means there is only one man trusted to guard Spurs' back four at present. The Mali international must keep close tabs on former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira and ex-Arsenal man Emile Smith Rowe.

CM: James Maddison - After a period in and out of the starting XI, Maddison sent a clear message to Postecoglou at the Etihad. Two well-taken goals and a generally excellent performance will make it tough for the Australian coach to drop him.

RW: Brennan Johnson - Is this going to be another impressive scoring streak for Johnson? He has netted in the last three matches for club and country and should get some joy against the offensive-minded Antonee Robinson.

ST: Dominic Solanke - Whether scoring himself or setting up others, Solanke has proven an effective line leader for Spurs. Injuries elsewhere mean that the Englishman will be immensely busy over the winter period as the games come thick and fast.

LW: Son Heung-min - The South Korean has scored or assisted in his last four outings for club and country, with Fulham's Kenny Tete unlikely to relish a battle with the Spurs star this weekend. He's such a consistent contributor on home soil.

Tottenham vs Fulham: Preview, predictions and lineups

Tottenham face a visit from fellow London outfit Fulham this Sunday
Spurs riding high after 4-0 demolition of Man City last weekend
Cottagers suffered bruising defeat to Wolves last time out

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to build on last weekend's 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City when they host Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Lilywhites sparkled at the Etihad Stadium as they swatted an out-of-sorts Man City team aside, following a memorable victory up with a home 2-2 draw in the Europa League against Claudio Ranieri's Roma. A stoppage-time Mats Hummels effort prevented Spurs from a second consecutive victory following the November international period.

Just hours before Tottenham demolished Man City, fellow capital side Fulham were on the end of their own humiliation. Despite Alex Iwobi opening the scoring with a stunner, the Cottagers proceeded to concede four unanswered goals to struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers on home soil in what was a hugely disappointing defeat.

Tottenham team news
Tottenham have a number of injuries across their squad but their most notable absentees come in defence. Guglielmo Vicario is missing in goal as he recovers from surgery on an ankle injury, while Micky van de Ven is sidelined due to a hamstring issue.

Cristian Romero has missed both games since the international break and appears unlikely to feature against Fulham. However, he is edging closer to a return and Ange Postecoglou refused to rule him out of contention for the Cottagers' visit.

Rodrigo Bentancur is still serving his suspension and Richarlison, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore are all out of action.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Fulham
Tottenham predicted lineup vs Fulham (4-3-3): Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Kulusevski, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son.

Fulham team news
Joachim Andersen sustained a calf injury against Wolves and the centre-back will be missing for the "next few games" at the very least according to his manager Marco Silva. With Jorge Cuenca also sidelined, Fulham find themselves short on central defenders.

Ryan Sessegnon could miss a return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to a knock, while Harrison Reed is unavailable in the centre of the park after undergoing knee surgery over the November international break.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Tottenham
Fulham predicted lineup vs Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Lukic; Iwobi, Pereira, Traore; Jimenez.

Tottenham vs Fulham score prediction
It would be typical of Tottenham to follow up last weekend's mauling of Man City with a tame defeat to Fulham on home soil. However, with Silva's side having suffered their own embarrassment last time out, Spurs could take advantage of some mental fragility.

Either way, Sunday's affair should be a cracker. Both sides have a myriad of attacking threats and are likely to fight fire with fire in north London. Goals should follow as a result, especially given that neither side is particularly impressive defensively, and we're backing Spurs to edge an entertaining affair.

Prediction: Tottenham 3-2 Fulham

Fulham boss Marco Silva calls on ex-Arsenal stars to upset Tottenham
Fulham travel to Tottenham on Saturday with Marco Silva calling on his ex-Arsenal trio of Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi to be the heroes

Marco Silva has rallied his former Arsenal aces to spearhead Fulham's charge against Tottenham. A win would catapult the Cottagers above their city rivals in the standings, as they seek redemption from their upset at Wolves' hands last weekend.

Silva is banking on Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Alex Iwobi, all Arsenal youth products, to become match-winning heroes. He admits: "I haven't spoken with Emile, Reiss or with Alex about this situation. However, probably their feeling is going to be different about the game.

The Fulham boss anticipates that Spurs fans might give them a frosty reception, adding: "The reaction towards them from the Tottenham fans is also probably going to be different than with me or Kenny Tete or Issa Diop.

"If it can give them a different level of motivation, then it would be good for us."

"They are in Fulham now and they fight really hard for us.

"I know they are proud to be part of the club in this part of their careers."

On the other side, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou maintains an adventurous stance, expressing disinterest in defensive gameplay despite a recent Europa League slip-up versus Roma. While Silva acknowledges great respect for Postecoglou, he emphasizes his own tactical adaptability as vital for Fulham's competitive edge in the top flight, concluding: "You adjust things, you are always trying to add things and in life, you can never stand still.

"Yes, in some moments I know I like to play football and be on the front foot but sometimes it does depend on the opponent and whether the other team allows you to do it.

"What I see from Ange is that you can always talk about the identity of the team.

"You can choose an idea but you have to convince the players.

"I really respect him, I have my idea and identity and what I see from Tottenham is one clear idea from a very good manager and he goes with it until the end."

Fulham will be missing influential centre-back Joachim Andersen for the match, as the Dane has sustained a calf injury in the match against Wolves, while Harrison Reed, Jorge Cuenca, and Ryan Sessegnon will also be out of action.

Ange could stop Smith Rowe by unleashing "outstanding" Spurs star
Tottenham Hotspur have a chance to surge into the top four with a win this weekend. This is something that is dependent on other results, but if Chelsea lose to Aston Villa and the Lilywhites manage to beat Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they will leapfrog the Blues and could go into fourth.

It has been a curious run of form for Ange Postecoglou's side, who have won three of their last five in the top flight but, on the other hand, lost twice.

The defeats came against Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace, with their most recent top-flight win coming away to Manchester City. However, in midweek, they dropped points in the Europa League at home to Roma.

Spurs' performance vs. Roma
After a memorable victory at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, the Lilywhites failed to win in Europe against a struggling Roma side, now managed by former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri.

It was certainly a frustrating evening for Postecoglou's side, who were held to a 2-2 draw by I Giallorossi, with Mats Hummels scoring a 91st-minute equaliser.

First first goals from Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson, either side of a strike from Evan Ndicka meant the North Londoners thought they had all three points, but they could not hold on.

Johnson's goal continues a superb run of form for the Welshman. After a first season that showed great promise, the Nottingham-born winger has really kicked on. He has nine goals and one assist in 19 games across all competitions this term, a very impressive start indeed.

Dejan Kulusevski started in midfield again as a number 10, the role he has recently got the nod in ahead of James Maddison. He started alongside Rodrigo Bentancur, who is currently banned from domestic football, and Pape Matar Sarr, who has been a key member of the squad under Postecoglou.

With the Australian boss deciding to rotate his midfield against Roma, it could certainly be argued that they missed the influence of Yves Bissouma in the middle of the park. It seems likely he will slot back into the side against Fulham, where he will have a big role to play.

Bissouma's important role vs. Fulham
Malian international Bissouma has had a curious role in the Lilywhites side this term. He has struggled to lock down a permanent spot in the team, starting five out of nine games he has played in the top flight. He has also made four appearances in the Europa League and one in the Carabao Cup.

Postecoglou could well decide to go back to his midfield that beat Pep Guardiola's side last weekend, which was Maddison, Sarr and Bissouma. It not only brought quality on the ball but defensive nous which could be invaluable when looking to stop one of Fulham's key players, former Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe.

It has been a fantastic start to life at Craven Cottage for the Hale End academy graduate. In 12 Premier League games this term, he has scored three times and grabbed two assists. It is fair to say Smith Rowe is very much a dangerman for his former rivals to be wary of.

Bissouma, who earns £55k-per-week, could be a key player for Spurs this weekend, as they look to stop the Fulham attacking midfielder's momentum.

Defensively, he has performed well this term, as shown by the stats from Squawka, winning 5.6 duels and making 4.1 ball recoveries per 90 minutes.

Indeed, it is the engine that the 28-year-old will bring to the middle of the park that could be a key part of stopping Smith Rowe.

The England international is energetic with the ball at his feet and Bissouma's energy in the midfield will play a big part, given he will be able to relentlessly track him throughout the game and hopefully for Spurs, not give him much time on the ball.

It seems likely that Bissmoua, described as "outstanding" by football statistician Statman Dave, will slot back into the midfield against the Cottagers.

Postecoglou seems unlikely to change a winning formula against Manchester City, and the Malian international could play a key role in stopping Smith Rowe, as Spurs hunt for a place in the top four.

Andreas Pereira is an egotistical cretin who doesn't deserve Fulham, let alone Marseille
Footballers all being stupid is a trite claim disproven by many of them being hailed as clever so-and-sos in their subsequent managerial or punditry careers and through the erudite interviews given by those still playing.

We no longer need to champion Frank Lampard and his A in Latin as the irrefutable evidence of footballer smarts now that former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini's Levulinic acid business is valued at £10bn.

But occasionally a footballer does something so dumb that it undoes all of the fine work of Louis Saha, whose social network company 'AxisStars' has thousands of users and means he has a net worth of over £4bn, or Romelu Lukaku, who can speak five languages fluently.

What was Andreas Pereira thinking?

"From outside [England], there was an offer from Marseille, we talked, and unfortunately it didn't work out. It would be really cool [to go to Marseille] because of the way [Roberto] De Zerbi plays football. I was looking forward to it, but we'll see now in January or at the end of the season if there will be a transfer or if I'll stay at Fulham."

Absolutely fine to want to go to leave Fulham and join Marseille. Absolutely fine to be disappointed that the move didn't transpire. We also have no problem with him saying it publicly as long as he can deal with what we would suggest is going to be an ill-mannered reception from the Fulham fans, many of whom already have frosty feelings towards a player with a very high opinion of himself, that they would say hasn't been earned through performance but bolstered by one or two stats that lead those not watching Fulham on a regular basis to believe they're lucky to have him.

Only Dejan Kulusevski (33) has created more chances than Pereira (32) this season. But 22 of those have come from set pieces and although that's obviously a useful skill it's something of a misleading stat as no Premier League player has taken more than Pereira's 56 corners this season and he also has a monopoly over free-kicks at Fulham, for whom he's contributed no assists.

His ten chances created without the aid of the referee's whistle makes him the sixth-most creative open-play Fulham player behind Alex Iwobi (23), Adama Traoré (17), Emile Smith Rowe (14), Reiss Nelson (12) and Antonee Robinson (11). Other than Robinson, they've also all scored this season. Pereira hasn't.

His pass percentage of 76.7 per cent is the third-lowest of any Fulham player, which could be forgiven if he was playing loads of passes into the box, but he's managed just 12 all season, or if he was threading through balls on a regular basis, but he's only completed ten of those.

In short, he's a fraud, whose idiocy and ego came to the fore in the interview with PL Brasil.

We can't think of any reason for him saying Marseille were interested during the summer other than him being embarrassed to be playing for Fulham. His agent knows he wants a move; Fulham presumably do to. There's nothing to be gained from announcing it in the middle of a season other than in the false hope of alleviating what must be one of the strongest cases of imposter syndrome on record.

Rocking up to international duty with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City stars and having to explain that you play for a team in West London, but not that one, is a recipe for feelings of inadequacy.

Given he's sharing the field with Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Rodrygo and Gabriel we absolutely understand why he feels that way, but that's got nothing to do with him playing for Fulham and everything to do with him barely being fit to lace those players' boots.

It was as though he was making the comments in an era before the advent of social media or even the internet. There is no way such a bolshie claim wasn't going to be picked up by multiple outlets covering the Premier League on the lookout for controversy. Either he is absurdly naive or wanted that to happen, in which case the Fulham fans have every right to voice their displeasure on Sunday and in every game Pereira plays ahead of his underserved move to a bigger team, assuming Marseille or whoever else don't wise up to his fraudulence in the meantime.

'Their feeling will be different' - Fulham coach banks on Arsenal products including Iwobi to stun Tottenham
Fulham manager Marco Silva is looking to his former Arsenal stars, including Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, to lead the charge against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

A victory would propel Fulham above their North London rivals in the Premier League standings, providing redemption after their recent setback against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Nigerian international in particular, has been a standout performer for Fulham this season.

Iwobi has seamlessly integrated into Silva's system, registering five goal contributions (three goals and two assists) in twelve Premier League appearances this term.

His recent form, highlighted by a stunning goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, has earned him widespread praise.

The 47-year-old gaffer has placed his faith in Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, and Alex Iwobi, all products of Arsenal's Hale End academy, to be the difference-makers in the crucial clash.

While he hasn't explicitly discussed the match with the trio, he believes their Arsenal ties could ignite an extra spark of motivation.

"I haven't spoken with Emile, Reiss or with Alex about this situation," Silva admitted as quoted by the Daily Express.

"However, probably their feeling is going to be different about the game. If it can give them a different level of motivation, then it would be good for us.

"They are in Fulham now and they fight really hard for us. I know they are proud to be part of the club in this part of their careers."

As Fulham prepare to face their fierce rivals, Iwobi and his fellow Arsenal alums will be eager to leave their mark on the match and contribute to a potential upset.

Their experience and familiarity with the London derby atmosphere could prove crucial in securing a vital three points for the Cottagers.

The former Everton man became Nigeria's all-time assist provider in Premier League history on September 21, 2024 when he set up fellow Emile Smith Rowe, in a 3-1 win against Newcastle United at Craven Cottage, a key statistic he previously shared with the legendary Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu.

Ange Postecoglou gives key Tottenham injury update ahead of Fulham clash
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has given a big update on the availability of their star center-back Cristian Romero ahead of their forthcoming encounter against Fulham.

The defender has missed his club's last two games due to a foot injury he sustained against Aston Villa earlier this month. The injury happened again while he was on international duty with Argentina over the break.

In their last league match, the Lilywhites secured a remarkable 4-0 win against the defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. They also marked their presence in the European competition with a 2-2 draw against Roma in a Europa League group-stage match.

It is worth mentioning that Postecoglou's team is already without first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who will be out for months after sustaining ankle surgery, as well as forward Richarlison, winger Wilson Odobert, and forward Mikey Moore, all of whom are injured.

Romero to miss the match against Fulham
Postecoglou has clarified that Romero is 'unlikely' to be available for their upcoming match against the Cottagers.

"Romero is closer and is probably the closest. But again, probably unlikely, I'm not ruling him out. He has got to get through a few things today and we have another session tomorrow."

The probable unavailability of the Argentine International leaves his club coach with no option other than opting for the defending duo of Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies for their forthcoming game at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Currently earning around £ 165,000 per week, Romero is a key defensive player for his Australian coach, and his absence is a significant concern for his club.

Postecoglou may need to modify the tactics that are thought to be ideal for the game and the players, given the absence of his leading defender. The experienced coach might adopt a more defensive approach or alter formations to provide additional support defensively.

Currently holding the seventh position in the ongoing season of England's top-tier football, Spurs will undoubtedly need Romero back as soon as possible to advance in the points table.

Postecoglou Must Unleash Tottenham 'Sensation' to Keep Top 4 Hopes Alive
Tottenham Hotspur host Fulham tomorrow afternoon, looking to follow up their emphatic victory over Manchester City last weekend with another win, and Ange Postecoglou should consider handing Archie Gray his first Premier League start.

Gray has been limited mostly to appearances in the Europa League and the EFL Cup since arriving from Leeds United in the summer, with Postecoglou granting him just 46 total league minutes. However, the 18-year-old impressed in mid-week at left-back against Roma, and ought to be in the reckoning to feature against Fulham.

With Rodrigo Bentancur suspended, and Spurs leaking goals in recent games, Gray should be added to the midfield trio, to add increased defensive stability and a metronomic passer to the middle of the park. Otherwise, Fulham's offensive threat could overwhelm Postecoglou's team, and they risk suffering a damaging defeat in their top four pursuit.

Postecoglou Should Start Gray vs Fulham
He's deserving of minutes
After an exceptional breakthrough campaign at Elland Road, Tottenham opted to spend £30 million on Gray, with Postecoglou keen on snapping the talented teenager up early in his career. While the versatile midfielder, described as a 'sensation', likely expected to be integrated slowly, he also likely expected more playing time than he's been given thus far.

Bentancur is currently serving a seven-game Premier League ban, and thus a spot should open up for Gray to play against Fulham. Spurs shipped two goals to Roma on Thursday, two against Ipswich and three against Galatasaray prior to the international break, indicating a clear vulnerability to their back-line, which could be aleviated somewhat by Gray's defensive awareness and positioning.

Having played in both full-back positions on numerous occasions throughout his fledgling career, the youngster has the ability to read the game and thus prevent transitions, an area which has been a weakness for Spurs. Against the Cottagers, who carry an abundance of threat in transition with the likes of Reiss Nelson, Adama Traore and Emile Smith Rowe, Gray's attributes in this area will be very useful.

Opting for Yves Bissouma, alongside Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, could leave Tottenham exposed on the counter-attack, while they also require a high volume passer to help break Marco Silva's team down. Thus, to claim all three points and prevent themselves from dropping out of the top four race, Gray must start.

"Tottenham agree a loan deal" – Club insider makes interesting loan claim about PL defender linked with January move
Tottenham are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Fulham centre-back Joachim Andersen in the upcoming transfer window.

However, club insider John Wenham believes a permanent deal appears to be off the table. Instead, a loan deal might be the only realistic option for the Lilywhites.

Wenham, a well-respected figure in the Spurs community, has offered his insights on the matter. He noted that Fulham, who signed Andersen on a permanent deal this summer for a reported £30 million, would likely be hesitant to sanction a full transfer so soon.

Wenham: Spurs more likely to sign Joachim Andersen on loan than on a permanent deal
According to him, while Andersen is a high-calibre defender who has previously been on Tottenham's radar, a loan agreement would be the more plausible route if Spurs were to pursue him seriously.

Speaking to Tottenham News, the pundit said:

"Andersen is a good player, but he only joined Fulham this summer.

"Therefore, I don't see a permanent transfer happening. Tottenham were linked with him previously and didn't make a move then.

"I don't see that transfer happening unless Tottenham agree a loan deal. I just can't see a permanent transfer happening."

Andersen's reputation as a seasoned Premier League defender adds to his appeal. The Danish international boasts 144 appearances in England's top flight, including an impressive stint at Crystal Palace, where he formed a solid partnership with Marc Guehi and established himself as one of the league's most reliable defenders.

Since his move to Fulham, the 28-year-old has continued to excel, starting in all nine league appearances this season.

Despite Andersen's obvious quality, Tottenham iare already well-equipped in central defence. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have formed a formidable pairing, while Radu Drăgușin and Ben Davies provide additional depth. However, given their current injury crisis at the back, with both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven out injured, it will not be a surprise if Spurs would look to add another centre-back in January.

Any potential loan deal for Andersen would depend on Fulham's willingness to part with a player who has quickly become integral to their setup. Given his importance and the recent financial commitment to secure his services, such a move may prove challenging.

Up next: Tottenham Hotspur (a)
Fulham face a stern test this afternoon when they visit Tottenham Hotspur in another London derby as they seek to get back on track following last weekend's home thrashing by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The task of triumphing of Tottenham's home turf, something they haven't managed since Dimitar Berbatov scored the only goal against his former employers in March 2013, is made harder by the fact that Marco Silva only has two fit centre halves to choose from. Calvin Bassey will be paired with Issa Diop against Spurs after Joachim Andersen injured his calf in the closing stages of the defeat by Wolves, with the Danish defender set to be out for 'some weeks', according to the Fulham head coach. Summer signing Jorge Cuenca picked up an injury during training this week, whilst Ryan Sessegnon is doubtful for this game with another injury and Harrison Reed is a long-term absentee with a knee injury.

Spurs were at their scintillating best as they doled out more pain to Pep Guardiola by beating Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad last weekend. Ange Postecoglou's side have struggled for consistency this season, something underlined by the fact that they were denied a win over Roma in the Europa League on Thursday night by a late equaliser from Mats Hummels. They may be defensively vulnerable, but going forward Tottenham look devastatingly dangerous having reshaped their forward line following the departure of England captain Harry Kane.

Brennan Johnson, back on the scoresheet in midweek against Roma, is in a rich vein of form on the wing whilst Dejan Kulusevski was superb against Manchester City and poses a threat to every Premier League full back with his intelligent running and use of the ball. Son Heung-Mon remains one of the most accomplished attacking midfielders in Europe and, with the addition of Dominic Solanke up front, Fulham's rather makeshift defence could be very busy from the outset. That's before we consider the playmaking ability of James Maddison, who seemed to lead City a merry dance last weekend and must be close to a national team recall under the new coach Thomas Tuchel.

Tottenham's quest for back-to-back Premier League clean sheets for the first time since last October, when they last beat Fulham at home after a couple of mistakes by Bassey, may have to commence without the services of central defender Christian Romero, who is considered 'unlikely' to be fit after struggling with a toe injury, according to Postecoglou. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, virtually an ever-present since the Australian took over from Antonio Conte, faces a long spell on the sidelines after fracturing an ankle so Forster is set to play in his first Premier League game since May 2023. Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur remains suspended domestically so will sit out this game having featured against Roma.

Silva's selection will be interesting after the way his side subsided so supinely having taken the lead against Wolves. The Fulham boss talked Kenny Tete's credentials as a centre back, but it seems most likely that Diop, a regular starter in the Whites' first season back in the top flight, will come in to partner Bassey, so as not to completely reshape the back four. It remains to be seen whether Andreas Pereira's public courting of a move to Marseilles will impact on his playing time. The Brazilian international has been below his best this season and, if Sander Berge has shaken off the illness that prevented him featuring last weekend, then playing the Norwegian alongside a fit-again Sasa Lukic should make Fulham's central midfielder much tougher to play through. There also remains a possibility of a starting place for Harry Wilson, who has proven so impressive coming off the bench in recent weeks.

MY FULHAM XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, A. Robinson, Diop, Bassey; Lukic, Berge; Traore, Iwobi, Smith Rowe; Jimenez. Subs: Benda, Castagne, Amissah, King, Cairney, Pereira, Wilson, Nelson, Muniz.

Great idea loaning a player that can't play for them having already played for two Premier league teams Fulham and Palace this season.
