Marc Silva on Tottenham radar to replace Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham Hotspur might look to prise 47-year-old Portuguese manager Marco Silva away from fellow London club Fulham if they sack Ange Postecoglou.

According to a report by The Independent, Marco Silva is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London giants are scouring the market for a manager amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Ange Postecoglou. So, the 47-year-old Fulham boss has emerged as a target for Tottenham.

Marco Silva has resurrected his fortunes since joining Fulham in 2021. A native of Lisbon, he was a journeyman in his professional career and could not represent Portugal in international football. He hung up his boots in 2011 and entered the managerial sphere shortly by taking over at Estoril Praia.

Since then, the 47-year-old has endured a topsy-turvy ride in the coaching world, enjoying bright spells and poor stints at several clubs. Silva reached rock-bottom after failing at Everton but has gone from strength to strength since joining Fulham in 2021, helping the West London club become a fixture in the Premier League.

So, it is hardly surprising that Silva's stock has soared in the managerial market, with recent reports linking him with Manchester United. Another job in the Premier League might open up, with Tottenham mulling over parting ways with Ange Postecoglou. So, Silva has emerged as a target for the North London club.

Tottenham Hotspur's interest in Marco Silva is understandable. Ange Postecoglou is in a spot of bother amid faltering results in recent weeks.

Coach to be officially presented at 3pm today after exit from Fulham
Hugo Oliveira was Marco Silva's assistant manager at Fulham for over three years, having joined the club in 2021 along with his compatriot.

Before Fulham, the 45-year-old also worked with Silva at Everton, Hull City and Watford.

He's now left Craven Cottage and is set to become a manager for the first time in his career. The story broke last week in Portugal that Oliveira would be leaving Fulham and taking over at Famalicao.

Today's edition of A Bola states Oliveira will be appointed will be presented to the press by his new club at 3pm today.

This will be his first experience as a manager, having previously been a goalkeeping coach at Benfica and with the Portugal national team under the tutelage of Carlos Queiroz.

Ricardo Silva, who managed Famalicao against Porto as interim manager, will work with Oliveira. It is also possible that goalkeeper coach Rafael Defendi will remain part of his staff.

Given the close relationship built up with Marco Silva, the link obviously presents an opportunity for Fulham to get information on any talents coming through.

Oliveira to be named Famalicao head coach today
Fulham goalkeeping coach Hugo Oliveira will be named the new first team coach of Portuguese side Famalicao this afternoon.

The 44 year-old will leave Craven Cottage, where he has worked alongside Silva for the past three years, to take up his first managerial role after concluding negotiations to replace Armando Evangelista at the Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho.

Oliveira has previously worked as a goalkeeping coach at Benfica and was part of Carlos Queiroz's coaching staff when he was in charge of the Portuguese national side. Reports in Portugal suggest that Famalicao's most recent caretaker boss Ricardo Silva will remain as part of his coaching staff.

Oliveira is understood to have left Fulham with Silva's best wishes and the Cottagers are close to appointing the former Benfica goalkeeping coach Fernando Ferreira as his replacement.

Hull City poised to sign promising defender in January ahead of Everton and Fulham
Hull City are poised to sign UCD defender Carthal McCarthy in January, according to a report by The Irish Mirror.

Hull City are set to land the teenager and loan him back for the next League of Ireland First Division season.

McCarthy, 18, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and has emerged on the radar of English teams over recent times.

According to The Irish Mirror, Championship trio Derby County, Millwall and Norwich City have been keeping tabs on his development, along with Everton and Fulham in the Premier League, but it is the Tigers who are expected to see off competition from elsewhere and land his signature.

Hull City are sat bottom of the second tier table following their poor run of form. They have lost their last six games in a row and are winless in their last 11 fixtures as they prepare for life under new boss Ruben Selles.

Hull City to land defender
The Tigers could see McCarthy as one for the future and someone to bolster their ranks down the line.

They have provided a pathway for young players in the past such as Jarrod Bowen, Keane Lewis-Potter and Jacob Greaves.

The prospect made four appearances for UCD in their last campaign.

They came 2nd in the Irish second tier last term behind Cork City.

The Dublin outfit are now set to lose McCarthy which will be a blow. However, it would be a boost if he returned on a temporary basis to get some more experience under his belt.

What now?
If Hull City were to see off interest from the likes of Everton, Fulham, Derby County, Millwall and Norwich City, it would be a credit to the work that their academy does.

The Tigers' first-team have been struggling over recent times but McCarthy may see them as the ideal next home for him as he looks to embark on a successful career in the game.

Their ability to sell on players has been evident over recent years. Players like Andy Robertson, Harry Maguire and Jaden Philogene have come and gone over the course of the past decade as well as Bowen, Lewis-Potter and Greaves.

Hull City lost 1-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers last time out and are back in action on Wednesday night at home to Watford as they look to start picking up some more points.

Confirmed: Premier League Reveal Match Officials for Liverpool vs Fulham
Liverpool vs Fulham: Match Preview and Officials Announced

The Premier League has confirmed the match officials for Liverpool's highly anticipated clash against Fulham at Anfield this Saturday, December 14, at 3:00 PM GMT. With Liverpool sitting at the top of the Premier League table, the encounter promises to be an exciting one, as Marco Silva's Fulham aim to disrupt Arne Slot's formidable Reds.

Liverpool's Dominance in the Premier League
Liverpool's season under Arne Slot has been nothing short of exceptional. Sitting comfortably at the summit, they boast 11 wins, 2 draws, and just 1 loss in their 14 league fixtures. Their attacking prowess has been a standout feature, with the team averaging a remarkable 2.27 goals per match.

Slot's tactical acumen has reinvigorated Liverpool, who are now firm favourites for the Premier League title. The squad's blend of experience and youthful energy has yielded consistent results, with key players stepping up in crucial moments.

Fulham, meanwhile, occupy 10th position with 6 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses. Marco Silva's side has shown glimpses of brilliance, netting 21 goals while conceding 19. Though their position in the mid-table suggests inconsistency, they have the capability to challenge stronger sides on their day.

History Favours Liverpool
The head-to-head record between these teams leans heavily in Liverpool's favour. Out of 37 meetings, Liverpool have emerged victorious on 23 occasions, with Fulham winning just 7 times. Seven matches have ended in draws.

Their last encounter in April 2024 saw Liverpool clinch a convincing 3-1 victory, a result that emphasised their dominance in recent years. For Fulham, breaking this trend at Anfield will be no small feat, especially against a Liverpool side firing on all cylinders.

Match Officials for Liverpool vs Fulham
The Premier League has announced the officials who will oversee Saturday's fixture. Tony Harrington has been appointed as the on-field referee, with Darren Cann and Steve Meredith serving as his assistants. Tim Robinson will take on the role of fourth official.

Stuart Attwell will manage VAR operations, supported by Mark Scholes at Stockley Park.

Harrington is no stranger to officiating Liverpool matches. This season, he has taken charge of two fixtures involving the Reds:

    Liverpool 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion (November 2, 2024)
    Liverpool 3-0 AFC Bournemouth (September 21, 2024)

Liverpool fans will take comfort in knowing that their team has maintained a 100% win rate in the five matches Harrington has officiated.

What to Expect
With Liverpool aiming to extend their dominance at the top of the table and Fulham looking to cement their position in the top half, the clash promises to deliver high-quality football. Arne Slot's men will rely on their attacking flair, while Marco Silva's side will hope to exploit any gaps in Liverpool's defence.

Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM GMT at Anfield. The Reds' faithful will undoubtedly be in full voice, expecting another step towards Premier League glory.

U21: Hertha Berlin preview
Fulham Under-21s will be looking to extend their winning run to six games when Hertha BSC visit Motspur Park in the Premier League International Cup on Tuesday evening, 7pm kick-off.

Our Young Whites' form

Since a hard lesson in the 7-1 defeat to a strong Birmingham City outfit at the end of October, Hayden Mullins' side have recorded five straight victories.

With 13 goals scored in those five matches, our youngsters have been free-flowing, with three-goal hauls against West Ham United, Sparta Praha and Woking.

But what's most impressive has been the lads' character and resilience during this spell. We were 1-0 down at half-time in our last PL2 fixture against Leeds United, but a Callum Osmand-inspired turnaround saw us win the game 2-1.

There was another comeback in our National League Cup outing at Woking last week, as our Young Whites came from 2-1 down to beat the Cardinals 3-2, with an 88th minute winner from Osmand.

There have been plenty of star performers among the side and our front three in particular have really hit their groove. 10 of our last 13 goals have been scored by either Aaron Loupalo-Bi, Terrell Works or Osmand.
Fulham Under-21s players celebrate a goal against Sparta Praha

Loupalo-Bi has been just as much of a creator as he has a goalscorer with three goals and three assists in his last five games, while Works has four goal contributions in that time. Osmand – who has received a PL2 Player of the Month nomination for his performances in November – has five goals and two assists since November 1st.

The state of play

Not only would a victory against Hertha extend the winning streak, but it would also be a significant step towards qualifying from our International Cup group.

hree points on Tuesday night would see us jump to top spot in the group with one game to play against FC Nordsjælland, who are the current leaders in the eight-team group.

Hertha BSC are tied on four points with our Young Whites and a win for Rejhan Hasanovic's side would see them go top. Hertha began their campaign with a 1-1 draw at Manchester United before following it up with a thrilling 4-3 victory against Liverpool.

Only the top two teams from each group qualify for the knockout stages, but our Young Whites are well placed in our quest for a place in the Quarter-Finals, with most teams in Group C having already played either three or four matches.

Coverage

There will be a free live stream of this fixture on FFCtv. The stream will begin at approximately 6:50pm, with Gentleman Jim providing the commentary.

@FulhamAcademy on X will be providing live updates throughout the game, with highlights and reaction to follow on our website.

Everton, Fulham and Crystal Palace lined up for January signing – Headache inducing transfer mess
Everton, Fulham and Crystal Palace are potential destinations for Ernest Nuamah in January, reports FootMercato on Tuesday evening.

Fulham and Everton were interested in the summer, with moves to both falling through, and FootMercato say English sources have pulled Crystal Palace into the mix.

First of all, it's worth building a little background on Ernest Nuamah and how he's ended up in a less than ideal situation.

After the winger impressed for FC Nordsjælland, he caught the attention of Lyon. The French club moved forward to complete a deal but their financial restrictions, due to sanctions within France, meant it wasn't possible.

Therefore the club's owner, John Textor, decided to buy the player via one of his other clubs. That club was R.W.D. Molenbeek, now in Belgium's second division and with an average attendance of 3,067.

Nuamah was then loaned to Lyon with a purchase option of €25m plus add-ons. In July, Lyon announced they'd signed the 21-year-old permanently for €28m.

Then they tried to sell him to Fulham... for less than €20m.

There was a medical set up but the player pulled out. Everton, who John Textor was eyeing up to buy at the time, was seen as an alternative destination but that didn't happen either.

Since then the attacker has had a torrid time and is in and out of the Lyon side.

Lyon desperately need money and a sale in January would suit them. They want €25m, but it's made clear they won't get it. Whilst €18m is suggested as a compromise they probably wouldn't get that either.

Everton, Fulham and Crystal Palace will know there's a deal to be done.

Exclusive: Man City 'Seriously Considering' Signing £40m Star in January
Manchester City are threatening to raid Premier League rivals Fulham as Antonee Robinson has worked his way onto the reigning champions' radar after boss Pep Guardiola has decided to look into the possibility of luring a new left-back to the Etihad Stadium during the January transfer window, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

The Sky Blues' bid for a fifth consecutive top flight title has faltered thanks to registering just one win from their last six fixtures, with their latest setback coming in the form of a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace as they prepare to face Italian giants Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Txiki Begiristain will lead Manchester City's recruitment drive next month, ahead of being replaced by Hugo Viana as director of football at the end of the campaign, and he is working closely with Guardiola to identify potential targets as they aim to get their push for silverware back on track.

Robinson Identified as Possible Winter Arrival
Sky Blues contemplating whether to bolster left-back position

Manchester City are seriously considering recruiting a fresh option on the left-hand side of their backline in January, according to GMS sources, and Robinson is among a host of names to have been pinpointed as a potential incoming as Guardiola strives to bolster what has become a problem position.

Although Fulham are not under pressure to cash in on the United States international, thanks to being on a £50,000-per-week contract which is not due to expire until the summer of 2028, the Sky Blues are refusing to rule out testing the west Londoners' resolve by lodging a formal proposal.

GMS sources have been informed that Manchester City are entertaining the possibility of acquiring a new left-back to allow Josko Gvardiol to return to his preferred position at the heart of the backline, and Robinson's strong performances this season have resulted in a move for his services being contemplated.

The 27-year-old has remained one of the first names on the team sheet in his current surroundings, which could complicate matters for the Sky Blues, and he was described as 'brilliant' and making Bukayo Saka look average by respected journalist Miguel Delaney after playing a key role in Fulham grabbing a point against title-chasing Arsenal last weekend.

Manchester City are in danger of facing a battle for an agreement as they are not the only high-flying side to be mulling over offering Robinson a route out of Craven Cottage, with GMS sources recently revealing that Liverpool are showing interest despite having a £40million price tag to contend with.

Guardiola Scouring Market Amid Injury Issues
Champions struggling to have strongest line-up available

GMS sources have been told that Guardiola has remained adamant that his strongest side is capable of taking the title race to the wire despite playing catch-up, but keeping defenders fit has been problematic and the age of the Manchester City squad means he is preparing for further issues to crop up further down the line.

Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake and John Stones are among the names on course to miss the Champions League encounter with Juventus on Wednesday, due to being on the treatment table, leaving the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich head coach with limited defensive options for the trip to the Allianz Stadium.

Although many scenarios are being considered by Manchester City, GMS sources understand key figures believe they need to make signings to ensure they do not fail to make the top four come the end of the season, with a new defensive midfielder being prioritised as well as a new defender and Erling Haaland back-up being targeted.

Bournemouth centre-back Illia Zabarnyi and Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso have been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, while GMS sources recently revealed that Juma Bah is being pursued ahead of potentially attempting to cut his loan spell at La Liga strugglers Real Valladolid short.

Fulham U21s 5-3 Hertha BSC U21s
Fulham U21s extended their winning run to six matches on Tuesday night in the Premier League International Cup.

Callum Osmand scored a hat-trick and Lemar Gordon picked up a brace at Motspur Park.

Ensar Aksakal, Luca Wollschläger and Jelani Ndi scored for the visitors in the eight-goal thriller.

Hertha capitalised on early pressure in the seventh minute; Samuel Amissah was caught playing out from the back and the visitors were quick to switch play to Oliver Rolke in space, who had a shot saved and the rebound followed up and finished by Aksakal.

Ten minutes later, Fulham's first chance fell to Gordon who was found in space in behind by Oliver Gofford, but his effort from a tight angle was thrwarted away by the Hertha defence.

Alex Borto was called into action following a defensive error but managed to save well from Gottschalk.

Fulham had looked dangerous on the break throughout the opening 30 minutes and found an equaliser through Gordon, who raced in behind and coolly finished past Dennis Smarsch.

Osmand kept up his fine form and fired the hosts into the lead on 36 minutes, turning his man just inside the box before firing an effort to the near post.

Just a minute later, the forward found himself in tons of space behind the Hertha defence following good work from Gordon to retrieve possession high up the pitch. There was only going to be one outcome as Osmand beared down on goal, finishing past Smarsch and doubling the Fulham advantage.

A fourth was added just before the break through Gordon, volleying home a rebound just outside the box after Osmand had an effort saved.

The second half started just as the first half finished as Fulham got their fifth; Gofford found Osmand in behind with a quick free-kick from deep and the forward made no mistake, finishing to the near post from close range and completing his hat-trick.

Borto made a fine save on 73 minutes, keeping out a powerful Aksakal shot from 20 yards.

Hertha did pull one back a minute later through Wollschläger, hammering home from close range after Maik Nelson Afri Akumu drilled the ball across the face of goal from the left.

Ndi scored the visitors' third in the 80th minute, also sweeping home from close range.

Fulham U21: Borto, Gofford (Brad de Jesus 63'), Nsasi, Amissah (Park 45'), Esenga, Nwoko (Quashie 91'), Donnell, Works, Sekularac, Gordon (Loupalo-Bi 58'), Osmand (Olyott 58')

Subs: Underwood, Brad de Jesus, Park, Olyott, Loupalo-Bi, Quashie, Ali-Wahid

Me too although badly written paper talk, "...According to a report by The Independent, Marco Silva is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London giants..."

Since when would you refer to Spurs as North London giants? The last cup they won was in 2008. For me it wouldn't be a good move for Marco, he still has unfinished business to do and why would you go to a team lower in the division that us?  :slap:

Yes of course the Silva/ Spurs ling is paper talk , but not without sensible reasoning. The manager and player would make a good fit and I suspect the wages and attraction of silverware would mean that Silva would be instantly attracted to the move.

Hard to think what Fulham could do to prevent it.

Well, firstly Silva seems to love Fulham- it's the longest he's stayed anywhere as a manager and it feels like he's building something.
Secondly, Spurs are hardly silverware magnets. Their squad is on a par to ours and he'd have to work with Levy (not a good thing).
Third, the pressure and scrutiny at Spurs wouldn't be something that he's used to and maybe wouldn't welcome.

It's concerning and hope that he laughs it off and gets on with his stellar job here.

I can definitely see Marco being tempted: bigger budget, a good selection of players who are underperforming, bigger club. Like any successful manager, he will back himself to succeed wherever he goes.

It would be just typical for a club punching above it's weight to be plundered by a bigger team, undermining years of progress.

Hopefully it doesn't go anywhere.

I agree, except I never considered teams that are doing well to be "punching above its weight", we are where we are because we have played and got the points to be there.
