Title: First on Match Of The Day, and the focus on a Fulham Player (Robinson)
Post by: Steeeeeeeeeed on December 15, 2024, 01:17:09 AM
That's a first, I think, for a while anyway...

I rarely watch MOTD these days, but fair enough the highlights were good and worth a watch even if you have seen the Sky ones.... and the focus on Robinson too.

That was maybe Robinson's best ever performance for Fulham, he was immense, and the two runs he did for both goals were just fantastic.

It was indeed an excellent performance and the pundits praised the strength and stamina of Robinson on the radio as well. Add that to the assists, the ever improving range of passing and crosses and you have everything Liverpool don't currently have. February and no squad exits can't come too soon.

On Final Score Jason Mohammed made a big thing of the big clubs being after Robinson. I do hope that he was not being in the know.

There will be clubs interested but we must stand firm and put a huge price tag on a him. I mean over £50m. Too often we let the big clubs take our best players.

I get fed up of this type of media chat. FFS we are 9th in the League. Several of the so called big clubs are below us. Only a couple of them will win anything in the next few years so the only incentive for a player is more money and playing in Europe and quite probably spending much more time on the bench. We should be able to compete with that

More than likely Robinson will move on but hopefully not this January and hopefully for 50M or more.

On Instagram, under Robinson's post celebrating the point earned at Anfield, he liked comments from Liverpool fans suggesting he would fit in at Anfield.

The comments liked by Robinson said: "Anfield suits you" and "Sign for us fella."

Read what you want from that.  The good news is Fulham purchased him for 2.1M and has given him a new contract for 5 years.

I felt that Antony's accent got a lot more Scouse than I had ever heard before in the post match interviews...

I've already written to the BBC to complain about being first on MOTD,

Man U's new manager is keen on playing with 'wing backs', pundits were talking about it yesterday - how they need players with a lot of energy, pace and skill for these roles!

But will Antonee  want to go to a club lower in the league?

If Jedi goes for a huge fee then we have to get the cheque book out and get Leif Davis from Ipswich

This post has depressed me a bit. All my 66 years of going we've lost our best players to the big boys . I should be used to it but I'm not .

The MOTD coverage was awful. In the 10-15 minutes after the red card Liverpool were all over the place and we should have been at least 3-0 up, and the BBC showed none of this - they cut straight to the second half, by when Liverpool were better organised.

Poignant and resonant.  Can't, won't take issue with a word of it.  The final sentence packs a heavy punch for me.

I'll offer the one crumb of comfort I can find.  That final sentence cuts both ways.  Last month we saw a dramatic-come-from-behind win.  They don't grow on trees, but I've seen a fair few over the years. I should be used to them, but I'm not.  The sheer euphoria is exactly the same as when I started going to football many decades ago. It's not rational. Can't explain it.  But it is.  Hope it's the same for you.
