Fulham to be offered player as part of deal – Marco Silva's side keen on options presented
On Friday, multiple claims from Brazil talked about Palmeiras'  interest in Fulham's Andreas Pereira.

Journalist André Hernan said the 28-year-old wants to move and is encouraging Palmeiras to push for a transfer in January.

Later that day, ESPN in Brazil stated the Brazilian club face a big challenge of convincing Fulham to sanction a move.

Nosso Palestra now explain how Palmeiras convinced the midfielder and their plan to try and acquire his signature.

Back in March, Palmeiras president Leila Pereira met the player, his agent and his family in England, and she presented the club's project to them. This includes fighting for trophies and competing in the 2025 Club World Cup.

In addition to this, the South American club are willing to make the Fulham man one of their key players and hand him the No.10 shirt. All these convinced the former Manchester United man to make a switch to Brazil.

Fulham had earlier rejected a €20m bid from Marseille and the report states they would need €30m to sanction a sale.

In order to get closer to this figure, Nosso Palestra claim Palmeiras are willing to include Richard Ríos or Victor Reis part of the deal. They believe this is the only way they can get closer to Fulham's request to sign Pereira.

Goal Brazil journalist Raisa Simplicio took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say Palmeiras are considering involving one of the two players as part of the deal. She adds both Ríos and Reis are of interest to Marco Silva's side.

West Ham United ramp up efforts to sign Igor Jesus
West Ham United are reportedly ramping up their efforts to sign 23-year-old Botafogo attacker Igor Jesus, a target for Chelsea, Fulham, and Newcastle United.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Igor Jesus is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are intensifying their efforts to sign the Botafogo attacker, who will cost around £30 million. However, the East London club will face stiff competition from Chelsea, Fulham, and Newcastle United.

The rapid rise of Igor Jesus at Botafogo
Igor Jesus has made considerable progress since joining Botafogo from Shabab Al-Ahli in the summer transfer window. A native of Cuiaba, the South American forward spent his formative years in Brazil and graduated from the youth division at Coritiba.

The 23-year-old hit the ground running after returning to Brazil, amassing eight goals and five assists in 31 appearances for Botafogo. Jesus played his part in a memorable campaign for Botafogo while earning his Brazil debut with his exploits. Meanwhile, the youngster's progress has not gone unnoticed, alerting several well-known Premier League clubs, including West Ham United, Chelsea, Fulham, and Newcastle United.

A man in demand, soon to be Premier League-bound?
The Brazilian international has been on West Ham United's radar for several weeks. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window after losing Michail Antonio to an injury he picked up in a freak accident. So, Jesus is a viable target, with West Ham ready to step up the interest in him.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's interest in Igor Jesus is understandable. The West London club failed to sign a striker in the summer transfer window apart from Marc Guiu. While Nicolas Jackson has stepped up this season and Guiu has been a revelation in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Chelsea can do with another option.

As for Fulham, with Raul Jimenez approaching the twilight of his career, the West London club can do with a young striker. Meanwhile, Newcastle United will likely part ways with Callum Wilson next year, with the Englishman struggling with fitness issues. So, Jesus is a viable target for Fulham and Newcastle United.

Botafogo will demand around £30 million to part ways with the 23-year-old Brazilian international next year. West Ham, Chelsea, Fulham, and Newcastle United should not have any qualms about coughing up £30 million to sign the South American attacker. So, it will be interesting to see if he lands in the Premier League next year.

Fulham star has given green light to exit negotiations – Feels valued by suitors, open to all offers
Neither Fulham nor Andreas Pereira are yet to respond to the offer from Palmeiras, but the player des feel 'valued' by the Brazilian club.

That's according to journalist André Hernan, who reports that the initial offer from Palmeiras does not include a player swap for the time being.

Pereira has become a hot topic in Brazil over the last 48 hours, with Palmeiras seemingly making their move to get him from Fulham in January.

There have been numerous, changing reports since the initial ones emerged, with the latest today stating that Palmeiras could offer player to Fulham to help facilitate what would be an expensive deal for them.

Hernan disputes that, reporting that their first offer for the Fulham midfielder does not involve a player trade. It would be a direct purchase instead.

Andreas Pereira and Fulham have not yet responded to the offer but the player 'gave the green light' to the negotiation yesterday.

He has told his entourage that he will analyse anything that come to him in the January transfer window. Palmeiras are aware of that and have been treating the 28-year-old with 'great affection' in early negotiations.

Pereira feels valued by the club and that is, presumably encouraging the Brazilian club to continue to try and get a deal done with Fulham.

Liverpool told to pay £40-50m for January target on Arsenal and Man United radar
Liverpool are keen on signing Antonee Robinson from Fulham in january.

According to Football Insider, they will have to pay a fee of around £40-50 million in order to sign the USMNT star.

The 27-year-old left-back has established himself as a proven performer in the Premier League and he could be the ideal replacement for Andrew Robertson. The Scottish international defender is showing signs of decline and his performances have been quite underwhelming in recent months. He needs to be replaced adequately and the Fulham defender would be the ideal acquisition.

Manchester United and Arsenal are in the running for the defender as well and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

The defender has picked up 6 assists for Fulham in the league this season and he is a key player for them. It is no surprise that they are demanding a premium for him.

Liverpool have the resources to get the deal done and they must look to sign him in the coming weeks.

Man United and Arsenal need Robinson
It is no surprise that Manchester United are keen on the player. Luke Shaw has struggled with persistent injury problems and Manchester United need a more reliable presence in that area. Robinson has shown his quality in the Premier League and he could hit the ground running if he moves to Old Trafford.

Similarly, Arsenal need a quality left-back who could be an upgrade on Oleksandr Zinchenko. The 27-year-old certainly fits the profile and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Robinson will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining a big club in the near future. He has proven himself with Fulham and he will want to play for a club capable of winning major trophies. He is at the peak of his powers and he will want to compete at the highest level regularly.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Newcastle United vying for Daniel Ballard
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Daniel Ballard from Sunderland.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Newcastle United are plotting a move for 25-year-old Sunderland defender Daniel Ballard, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done.

The Northern Ireland international is capable of operating as a central defender, and he will help them tighten up at the back. Ballard has shown his quality in the Championship and he has the ability to thrive in the Premier League as well.

The opportunity to play in the English top flight will be quite attractive for Daniel Ballard, and it remains to be seen whether Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Newcastle United can secure an agreement with Sunderland in the coming weeks.

All four clubs need a defender like Ballard
Aston Villa have looked quite vulnerable defensively, and they need to tighten up at the back if they want to secure European qualification for the next season. Daniel Ballard could prove to be a quality addition for them. The 25-year-old is at the peak of his powers, and he could make an instant impact for them.

Similarly, Crystal Palace have looked quite vulnerable defensively as well. They are yet to fill the void left by Joachim Andersen, and signing the 25-year-old would make a lot of sense. In addition, Crystal Palace are sweating over the future of Marc Guehi, a target for several top Premier League clubs.

Newcastle United need defensive reinforcements as well. The Magpies have endured multiple injury problems at the back and signing the 25-year-old will help them improve during the second half of the season. Newcastle United are quite impressive going forward, and they need to cut out their defensive mistakes now.

Similarly, Fulham need reinforcements to finish the season strongly. It will be interesting to see where the 25-year-old defender ends up. All four clubs will be attractive destinations for him, and he will hope to secure a move in the coming weeks.

The opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League will be quite attractive for the player, and he will certainly hope that Sunderland can sanction his departure when the transfer window reopens in January.

Fulham vs Southampton: Preview and Prediction
Fulham will host Southampton at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon, looking to get back to winning ways.

Fulham are eighth in the Premier League standings, and they will hope to push for European qualification this season, with the game vs Southampton presenting them with an eye-catching fixture to grab three points.

Meanwhile, Southampton are at the bottom of the Premier League table, and they are coming into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats in the top flight. The poor run of results has cost Russell Martin his job.

It will be interesting to see if Southampton can bounce back strongly with a positive performance away from home. The Saints are in dreadful form this season with just one win from 16 league matches. They have lost five of the last six league games, and it seems highly unlikely that they will be able to produce a strong performance here.

Fulham will certainly fancy their chances of getting all three points against the worst team in the division this weekend. The Hard Tackle takes a closer look at the encounter ahead of the latest meeting between the two sides.

Team News & Tactics
Fulham

Fulham will be without Harrison Reed due to a knee injury. Joachim Andersen has a calf strain, while Reiss Nelson is recovering from a thigh injury. Meanwhile, Andreas Pereira will serve a suspension this weekend.

The home side are likely to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Bernd Leno in goal. Timothy Castagne and Antonee Robinson will be deployed as the full-backs. They will look to contribute at both ends of the pitch. Issa Diop will start alongside Calvin Bassey at the heart of the defence.

As for the midfield unit, Sasa Lukic and Tom Cairney will pair up in the double pivot, and they will add defensive cover and control from the deep. Emile Smith Rowe will reprise the attacking midfield role, and he will look to create goalscoring chances for his teammates.

Adama Traore will start alongside Alex Iwobi on the flanks, and they will add pace and flair to the side. Finally, Raul Jimenez will lead the line for Fulham vs Southampton at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Cairney; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez

Southampton
Southampton will be without Gavin Bazunu due to an Achilles injury, Ross Stewart due to a calf injury/ William Smallbone will miss out due to a thigh injury, while Jack Stephens continues his suspension.

The away side will shape up in a 3-5-2 formation, with Aaron Ramsdale in goal. Taylor Harwood-Bellis will start alongside Jan Bednarek and Nathan Wood in the back three. Yukinari Sugawara and Kyle Walker-Peters will start as the wing-backs. They will look to keep things tight at the back and hit Fulham on the break.

As for the midfield unit, Joe Aribo will start alongside Flynn Downes and Lesley Ugochukwu in the middle of the park. They will look to protect the side defensively. Adam Armstrong will start alongside Ben Brereton Diaz in the final third.

Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Ramsdale; Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Wood; Sugawara, Aribo, Ugochukwu, Downes, Walker-Peters; Armstrong, Diaz

Key Stats

Southampton have lost five of their last six matches in the Premier League.
Southampton have conceded 17 goals in the last six outings.
Fulham are unbeaten in five of their last six matches in all competitions.
12 goals have been scored in the last six matches between these two sides.
Southampton are unbeaten in four of the last six meetings against Fulham.

Player to Watch
Alex Iwobi

The Fulham winger is our key player to watch out for. Iwobi has done quite well in recent weeks, and he will look to punish the Southampton defence with his pace, flair and creativity. He will look to create goalscoring opportunities for his teammates and get on the score sheet himself. Fulham will need him to step up and deliver in the final third if they want to grind out a positive result. It will be interesting to see if he can continue his impressive run of form.

Prediction
Fulham 3-1 Southampton

Fulham will be the favourites to pick up all three points here, and they should be able to grind out a comfortable victory at home. The Cottagers are coming into this game on the back of a valuable draw at Anfield last week, and it will have given them a huge confidence boost.

Fulham will feel that they are a cut above the opposition and that they should be able to grind out a home win. Southampton have been quite poor defensively, and their defensive unit is likely to let them down here. The Hard Tackle predicts a 3-1 win for Marco Silva and his charges.

Southampton sign Ivan Juric to 18-month deal as new manager
FORMER Roma boss Ivan Juric has signed an 18-month contract to become Southampton manager, the Daily Echo understands.

The Croatian, who enjoyed his best managerial spell at Serie A side Torino, will be officially announced as Saints boss later today.

It remains unclear whether the 49 year old will be in the dugout at Fulham on Sunday due to needing a work permit.

Interim boss Simon Rusk has prepared Southampton for the 2pm kick-off, however, Juric will take the game if his work permit has been sorted in time.

Sport Republic are understood to have been won over by Juric's style of play, having previously taken an interest in him after they sacked Ralph Hasenhüttl.

Juric's Torino finished ninth in Serie A last season and only three Serie A teams conceded fewer than the 36 goals his team shipped.

However, they also only scored 36 goals - finishing on a goal difference of 0 - a record of which only three teams in the league scored fewer.

During his failed Roma tenure this campaign, he exclusively deployed three-at-the-back formations, rotating between 3-4-2-1, 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 systems.

Some outlets have suggested Juric's deal will include a break clause, however, we are unsure if this exists due to its uncommon nature.

Club's president an 'asset' as they chase Fulham star – Formed 'closeness' with player earlier this year
Andreas Pereira's good relationship with Palmeiras president Leila Pereira is seen as key to the Brazilian side's hopes of signing him in January.

That's according to UOL, who say Leila has become the club's 'asset' as they try to get the midfielder out of Fulham.

The newspaper reports that Palmeiras are 'betting on' the 28-year-old's good relationship with the club's president to advance the negotiations for him.

She's already proven to be an asset in this regard after the pair 'became closer' during friendlies for the Brazilian national team in March this year, when they took on Spain and England.

Pereira was the head of the delegation and had an 'unprecedented closeness' to the players. That led to conversations with some of them and a 'closeness' was formed. This was the case with eh Fulham midfielder, who was not afraid to talk to her.

Palmeiras have already carried out a first survey for the midfielder, offering around €20m to Fulham to sign him. According to 'people close' to the midfielder, he has given the proposal 'special attention' because Palmeiras' president. In fact, a member of the midfielder's team is quoted as saying "she's been incredible".

The offer they have made is considered good for the Fulham man in financial terms and when it comes to projection and the media, but Marco Silva's side are considered a problem.

They have Pereira tied down to a deal until July 2026 and have an option to extend it. They already turned down a €25m offer from Marseille in the summer. Reports elsewhere have the offer at €20m.

Both Fulham and Pereira's entourage believe that higher and 'more advantageous' proposals for the club should appear in the coming months. If Fulham do decide to negotiate, they would need a more substantial proposal from the Brazilian team.

While Pereira's relationship with the Palmeiras president will play a part, it will be the money offered that will decide where the midfielder's future lies.

Club make first approach to sign "untouchable" £50,000-a-week Fulham star
With the January transfer window just around the corner, Fulham have reportedly received an early approach to sell one of Marco Silva's star men in an exit that would be quite the blow.

Fulham transfer news
The Cottagers are enjoying an impressive campaign and have well and truly become an established Premier League side once again, putting their days in the dropzone to bed on a permanent basis. Their transfer business deserves great credit for such security too, given how successful the likes of Alex Iwobi and, more recently, Emile Smith Rowe have been.

Forced to settle for a point against high-flying Liverpool last time out, despite taking the lead twice at Anfield, Fulham are a side to watch even when they square off against England's best sides.

With their recent success may well come the interest of European clubs in certain star players in what is a given for almost every club on an upwards trajectory. The task that those at Craven Cottage could be handed is keeping hold of those very star players better than they have done with the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Joao Palhinha in the past.

With that said, according to Fabrizio Romano, Palmeiras have made their first approach to sign Andreas Pereira, but Fulham consider their midfielder to be "untouchable" and will likely shut down the Brazilian club's dream move before it progresses.

When January arrives, it's imperative that Fulham keep hold of not just Pereira, but also the likes of Antonee Robinson too as clubs swarm to pick apart an increasingly impressive squad.

"Untouchable" Pereira has been revived at Fulham
Pereira looked down and out at Manchester United before Fulham came calling. At the time, it seemed a gamble for the Cottagers to sign the Brazilian, who had failed to offer the decisive touch on the biggest stage. But he soon found himself revived under Silva and has not looked back since. Now an important figure, earning a reported £50,000-a-week, Pereira should stay put and continue a revived spell.

At the centre of Silva's praise, the Fulham boss told reporters as relayed by United in Focus in 2022: "He has been outstanding this season. I know a lot of people had doubts when I decided to sign him but I knew his qualities and his character.

"Even last season we had a conversation about his future, but it wasn't the right moment for him to join us. He's a key player on and off the ball and with set pieces. Two assists this afternoon. A top professional who is enjoying himself at the moment in a white shirt."

As Palmeiras come calling, Pereira should remain untouchable and remain an important player at the heart of Silva's Fulham side on the rise.

Fulham vs Southampton: Preview, predictions and lineups

Fulham take on Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday
Cottagers are four games unbeaten despite difficult run
Southampton have appointed Ivan Juric as new manager

Fulham take on bottom-of-the-table Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday as they aim to extend their unbeaten run to five games.

The Cottagers have escaped their December gauntlet so far without tasting defeat and are well-positioned in mid-table. The remarkably condense top half means Fulham are just four points adrift of Aston Villa in fifth after the Villans beat Manchester City on Saturday.

Marco Silva's side have recovered after getting thumped 4-1 by Wolves on home soil, with their recent unbeaten run including draws against Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as a 3-1 victory over Brighton.

Southampton have officially confirmed former Roma, Torino and Verona manager Ivan Juric as Russell Martin's successor, but interim boss Simon Rusk is set to take charge of the Saints this weekend.

After last week's mauling at home to Tottenham Hotspur, the Saints gave a decent account of themselves in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. They were ultimately beaten by a heavily rotated Liverpool team 2-1, however.

What time does Fulham vs Southampton kick-off?

Fulham team news
Andreas Pereira, who's only just returned from his brief exile and scored last week at Anfield, is out of Sunday's game having picked up his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season. However, Silva does have Tom Cairney available for selection after serving a three-game ban.

Calvin Bassey can also return to Fulham's backline.

Reiss Nelson is sidelined for the long haul with a hamstring injury, while Kenny Tete is set for at least two months out with a knee issue. Harrison Reed is sidelined, but Joachim Anderson should be able to return from a calf problem.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Southampton
Fulham predicted lineup vs Southampton (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Iwobi, Smith Rowe, Wilson; Jimenez.

Southampton team news
Southampton captain Jack Stephens is still out suspended, although he's serving the last of his four-game ban this weekend. The Saints are also without Gavin Bazunu, Will Smallbone, and Ross Stewart.

Aaron Ramsdale is on the comeback trail having missed a sustained period due to a finger injury. The former Arsenal goalkeeper could replace Alex McCarthy between the sticks on Sunday.

Kyle Walker-Peters was absent in midweek due to a knock, but the versatile wing-back should be fit enough to return this weekend.

Southampton predicted lineup vs Fulham
Southampton predicted lineup vs Fulham (3-4-2-1): Ramsdale; Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Wood; Sugawara, Downes, Fernandes, Walker-Peters; Dibling, Armstrong; Archer.

Fulham vs Southampton score prediction
Juric is an interesting appointment, but it remains to be seen whether the hard-nosed tactician will be able to stage a resurgence. Rusk got a tune out of the Saints on Wednesday, but they were facing a Liverpool team bereft of its leading stars.

Fulham have a couple of key players out, but they've impressed this month despite picking up a string of draws. Their performances against some of the league's best have pointed towards a team capable of competing for Europe this term.

The hosts should make little fuss of the Saints' visit on Sunday.

Prediction: Fulham 3-1 Southampton

Club president 'meets' with important Fulham star as Tottenham January budget claim made
All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Premier League ahead of another busy day of action.

Another day of Premier League action awaits, with plenty of London based action in the final matchday before Christmas. Chelsea face Everton away from home, while Fulham welcome a struggling Southampton side.

Elsewhere, Tottenham host Premier League leaders Liverpool in what is likely the game of the weekend. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the top tier.

Pereira interest
Interest is being generated in Fulham star Andreas Pereira, according to reports in Brazil. According to various reports, as detailed by SportWitness, Palmeiras are pushing for a deal, and the club's president Leila Pereira has already met with the player and his agent earlier in the year in a bid to convince him of the move.

It would be a surprise for Pereira to leave Fulham halfway through what has already been a strong season, but it's reported Palmeiras will consider offering Richard Ríos or Victor Reis as part of a deal, given they are unable to meet the more than £25million asking price in cash.

Spurs blow
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to add to his squad in January after seeing it decimated by injuries, but it's unlikely he will get anything resembling a winter war chest.

According to GiveMeSport, Spurs will only stump up the money for one signing, specifically a left-sided defender, given the current injury situation. That will come as a blow to Spurs fans who are hoping their chances of challenging for a top four spot will be boosted by the arrival of fresh talent.

Amorim on the positives
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim believes his side are improving as they prepare to face Bournemouth in their final game before Christmas. He said: "I think we are improving near the opponent box. We have some games that we are near the box but without real threat. You could see different things (against Tottenham)," Amorim added.

"You could see we can shoot, we are near the goal and you feel it, you really feel it. I think it is a good thing in our team. I feel that our team is faster at pressing more, the physically is improving and the understanding of the game. You can see it by the controlling of the game and you see it more especially in this game, but also the last game that we understand more the position and the movement we should do. There is a lot of things, but it is hard to think of the good things because we are out and let's focus on the next competition."

Fulham spark backlash over 'disappointing' ticket policy change for Chelsea game
Fulham's decision to sell tickets on a first come, first served basis to all season ticket holders has caught fans off guard

Fulham have been accused of disregarding their most devoted supporters by scrapping their loyalty points system for buying tickets without warning for the club's "biggest away game of the season" against Chelsea on Boxing Day.

Historically, matchday tickets for away fixtures were allocated to season ticket holders who accrue points for going regularly, rewarding fans who have consistently followed their side around the country and beyond.

According to the Fulham Supporters Trust [FST], the club's decision to sell them on a first come, first served basis to all season ticket holders earlier this month caught fans off guard and resulted in many missing out.

"Let's not forget that Chelsea away is arguably our biggest away game of the season," Simon Duke, chair of the FST, told The i Paper.

"What they've done is do away with loyalty points and let it become a free-for-all.

"There are a number of people who would normally have expected to get a ticket who haven't been able to."

One social media user on X speculated that the decision was made because the club "wants new Riverside Stand season ticket holders to attend the Chelsea game rather than long standing away supporters".

Season tickets in the expanded and revamped Riverside Stand, which includes a restaurant with Michelin-starred chefs, a terrace overlooking London and even a rooftop swimming pool, cost up to £3,000.

The buying process has also prompted criticism.

With tickets more readily available than in previous seasons, there was a predictable surge of interest from fans seeking to snap them up when they were released at 10am on 6 December, just two days after the club announced the ticket-selling window.

The FST say that high demand resulted in Fulham's ticketing website crashing and the phone lines to the ticket office being turned off with staff unable to handle the volume of calls. According to Duke, it was "absolute carnage".

However, people were still able to purchase them directly from the ticket office at Craven Cottage, giving them an advantage over fans who were unable to get through online and on their mobiles.

"The club gave minimal notice that they were going on sale – just two days' notice – which doesn't give people time to rearrange their days and make sure they were available at 10am," Duke says.

"What they should have done is stop selling, let everything settle down and start again."

This is not an unprecedented move.

In 2022, Fulham released tickets in the same way for a fixture against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, also on Boxing Day, which sparked similar concerns.

On that occasion, Fulham made two tickets available per season ticket holder, whereas this time they have reduced that to just one, a move they say has widened the pool of available tickets.

The FST say that they were given assurances at the time that that process would not be repeated.

"The club maintain it is different from the Crystal Palace game as that was two tickets per season ticket holder," Duke says.

"I actually think it is the same thing because it was just totally dispensing with loyalty points."

Fulham's loyalty scheme was introduced around the 2010-11 season after the club had reached the Europa League final the previous campaign.

The Trust have discussed changing the system with the club to ensure that younger fans who regularly travel away are not disadvantaged when applying for tickets against those who have built up points over a decade or more.

However, no reforms have yet been made.

"It needs looking at but that's how they've always distributed high-demand away tickets," Duke says.

"It has been on a loyalty point basis. Why suddenly stop without notice for arguably our biggest game of the season?

"I would love to know who the supporters are who got tickets for the Chelsea game, how many loyalty points they have got and how many away games have they been to this season.

"I suspect the data would show that these aren't people who go to Liverpool and Newcastle."

According to notes from a meeting between the FST and Fulham on 11 December, Fulham's CEO Alistair Mackintosh said the club was happy with how tickets were distributed as it gave an opportunity for more fans to attend.

Season tickets in the expanded and revamped Riverside Stand, which includes a restaurant with Michelin-starred chefs, a terrace overlooking London and even a rooftop swimming pool, cost up to £3,000.

The buying process has also prompted criticism.

Fulham say that they have received positive feedback from supporters over the scheme as it has enabled them to take their children to the game – a prospect that would not have been possible had loyalty points been required.

The club plans to review their ticket-selling process on a game-by-game basis and are open to discussions over updating loyalty points scheme.

Fulham also intend to show the game at Stamford Bridge on TV screens inside Craven Cottage for fans who missed out on matchday tickets.

Ticketing has been an increasingly thorny issue for Fulham fans over the past few seasons.

Last November, many protested against a significant increase in matchday ticket prices with some being sold for £160 – a Premier League record – for a home game against Manchester United.

There is potential that another off-field clash may erode the good feeling generated by Marco Silva's side on the pitch.

The Cottagers are eighth in the table after earning a point against league leaders Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

"It's very disappointing," Duke admits.

"If you look at some of the quotes that Marco Silva makes about wanting atmosphere and fans to make a noise that's hardly going to happen, especially in away games, if you're stopping your most regular supporters from attending games."

Wigan Athletic poised for cash windfall as part of potential Liverpool & Fulham transfer
Wigan Athletic are set for a potential cash windfall as Liverpool look to strike a deal for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson in January.

The American defender spent two years in the Championship with Wigan between 2018 and 2020, making 65 appearances.

And according to a report from Alan Nixon, the Latics could be about to profit from a potential sell-on clause they inserted as part of his move to Fulham.

It is believed that Robinson is now the Reds' top left-back target ahead of the January transfer window, and with a £30 million figure mooted, there could be a big payout for Wigan, four-and-a-half years after they sold the ex-Everton man for £2 million following their financial struggles.

Wigan Athletic poised to profit on potential Antonee Robinson transfer
According to Nixon, Liverpool have been tracking Robinson for a significant period of time, but were particularly impressed by his performance in Fulham's 2-2 draw at Anfield on December 14.

That display is thought to have pushed Robinson ahead of Kerkez, to the front of Liverpool's list of targets.

Andy Robertson's Anfield future is said to be uncertain, meaning the door could open up for a new arrival on the left side of Arne Slot's defence.

For Wigan, this could become a significant payday. Nixon says Liverpool will need at least £30 million to prize Robinson away from Craven Cottage and, while it is unknown what percentage Wigan's sell-on clause actually is, even just 10% would hand them a hefty sum for a League One club.

Antonee Robinson Career Apps, all comps (As per FBRef)
Club                Apps      Goals      Assists
Fulham                167      3      17
Wigan Athletic                65      1      2
Bolton Wanderers                34      0      5

Sell-on clauses can be an extremely sensible and profitable move for clubs outside the Premier League. Non-league Maidenhead United made headlines for the fee they received when Max Kilman completed his move to West Ham United in the summer, and Wigan look set to become the next success story.

They sold Robinson back in 2020 for a fee believed to be in the region of £2 million. There's the potential that they could be about to receive double that fee now, meaning they're still profiting from their former star almost five years since he departed the North West.

Antonee Robinson sell-on funds could be invaluable to Wigan Athletic ahead of January
The potential funds received from Robinson's move could prove to be immediately invaluable to Wigan.

Shaun Maloney's side are currently sat 17th in League One. However, the Robinson deal could potentially provide them with the cash to make some serious improvements to their squad in the January window.

While they currently look set for a relegation battle, a couple of big signings funded by the Robinson money could have the Latics looking upwards rather than downwards.

Despite their lowly standing, they are currently only seven points off the play-offs in January with a game in hand. Making a couple of crucial additions in January and a play-off push may not be completely off the cards.

Liverpool need to pay £30m to sign Antonee Robinson
Liverpool could be looking to sign a new left-back in the summer transfer window, and they have been heavily linked with a move for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, the Reds are "homing in on a swoop" for the 27-year-old left-back and will have to pay £30 million for him.

Liverpool have been tracking the left-back for several months, and in the past few days, they have been focusing on a deal to secure his signature.

The Reds are also interested in AFC Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, but Robinson has emerged as a "main target" for the club.

Robinson is liked by both the Manchester clubs, but he would be keen to move to Liverpool if the Reds pay the cash.

Andy Robertson's Liverpool future in doubt
Arne Slot has made it clear that he is very happy with the squad he has at his disposal, but if there's a good player available at the right price, the club would definitely try to get him on board.

Andy Robertson has been a great servant for the club, but his future could come under scrutiny in the summer.

The Reds are not looking to push him out but could be willing to cash in on him if there's a good offer on the table.

The 30-year-old has struggled with form and fitness this season, and Slot has often used Kostas Tsimikas ahead of him in league games.

Robertson has plenty of football left in him, but the summer will also represent Liverpool's best chance to sell him at a high transfer fee.

Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards have their own methods of hiring players, and it will surprise many if the club decide to pay £30m for Robinson.

Kerkez should be high on the priority list, considering his age and quality. Hughes knows him very well and could use his old connection to bring him to Liverpool.

Mr Khan's Programme Notes
It is always a pleasure and honour for me to connect with Fulham supporters, but especially so during the festive season. No matter our record or circumstances, I find Christmas is always a wonderful time to pause and reflect for all we have to enjoy here at Fulham Football Club. When you combine the occasion with your beloved club and add the warmth and charm of Craven Cottage in December, it's as good as it gets in sport.

I've never felt better at this time of the year in what is now my 12th holiday season serving as your Chairman. Of course, what is far more important is how you feel, and I hope your spirits are as high as mine. Now nearly halfway through the season, we have faced 16 of our Premier League opponents as we prepare to welcome Southampton this afternoon to Craven Cottage. And, virtually without exception, we have been outstanding, producing performances and results that have earned the respect of the league and our supporters alike.

Though we were unfortunate to leave Liverpool on 14 December without a victory, our 2-2 draw showcased our considerable talent, outstanding depth and a fearless spirit against a side that is widely deemed one of the best in the world, particularly at Anfield. Marco Silva and his staff always prepare our squad to play attractive and forward-thinking football, and it's a joy to behold. I am very happy for our travelling fans who sold out our away allocation for the fixture and were a vocal presence throughout a sometimes excruciating but always thrilling match. I know you returned home full of pride and anticipation for more of the same throughout the season, and I thank you for your support!

The Liverpool result was preceded by a daunting stretch of three matches within eight days against European challengers, and we answered those tests impressively as well. Injuries and suspensions did not derail us from gaining five points, highlighted by a strong 3-1 victory at home vs. Brighton and Hove Albion between well-earned London derby draws at Tottenham Hotspur and here vs. Arsenal. Each match offered memorable moments and further strengthened our standing, deservedly, in the top half of the Premier League table.

Of course, possibly no match this season or in recent years will be remembered more fondly than our 2-1 win here in early November vs. Brentford. Congratulations to Harry Wilson for earning the Premier League's Guinness Goal of the Month award in November for his deft stoppage-time equaliser that set the stage for even more magic a few moments later. Well done, Harry!

Two final notes on our season to date. First, I'm delighted to see so many of our players being counted on by their national teams, with Harry Wilson, Raúl Jiménez, Andreas Pereira, Antonee Robinson, Sander Berge, Saša Lukić, Timothy Castagne, Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Luc De Fougerolles all being summoned home this season. That means Fulham Football Club has been represented on four continents during recent international breaks, serving as a testament to the talent of our players as well as our recruitment team. International duty does come with risks, of course, but the best teams in the Premier League customarily feature a generous number of internationals. To see Fulham in that company speaks to our quality and potential, and that's something all of us can be proud of.

Second, I am looking forward to Fulham welcoming Watford on Thursday, 9 January, in our first FA Cup competition this season. We have ambition to make a run in the tournament and Watford, competing for a play-off position in the Championship, will provide an excellent test. Your support that evening will be crucial and appreciated!

I've said before, but it bears repeating, that we take seriously the concept that we are more than just the Men's First Team here at Fulham. We strive to be the best in all areas of the club, and the efforts of our staff are clearly paying off.

It's been a fantastic first half to the season for our Fulham Academy sides, with both the U21s and U18s currently sitting towards the top of the table in their respective divisions. The U21s are averaging well over two goals per game across all competitions and are well placed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Premier League International Cup and National League Cup, while the U18s have proven tough to beat since losing their opening two fixtures.

The Fulham FC Women's First and U18 teams are similarly in impressive form, with both teams currently unbeaten in all competitions. The First Team finished its 2024 schedule on Sunday with a 2-1 win at Barking, and that followed an away win at Brentford in the Adobe Women's FA Cup that takes the squad to the fourth round of the tournament. We drew the London City Lionesses for a home tie on Sunday, 12 January, marking the team's third match at Craven Cottage this season. With an afternoon kick-off, I hope you'll consider spending the day here at the Cottage in support of Head Coach Steve Jaye and his outstanding team!

Our work as a club off the pitch has been no less impressive. Fulham Football Club recently won a bronze honour in the Club of the Year category at the Sports Business Awards, which recognise and reward behind-the-scenes achievement by the teams. Our submission centred on the inspiring work of Eleanor Rowland, our Director of Safeguarding and Inclusion, and her excellent team in improving equality across the game. It's an important endeavour and I am indebted to Eleanor and everyone at our Club who make this their mission in their careers and lives.

We were humbled to learn that the New Riverside Stand was recognised with a first-place award in the stadium initiative category by the European Stadium and Safety Management Association. The organisation lauded the project for redeveloping Craven Cottage into a 24/7 community hub, modernising the stadium while boosting the local economy and blending seamlessly with its riverside location. It's quite an honour, and one we will treasure.

Indeed, the life and vibrancy we expected on matchdays at the New Riverside Stand is happening as we progress toward completion in 2025. All the Matchday Plus and Dugout areas have opened to great reviews, and Sky Deck options will become available beginning with the Manchester United fixture on Sunday evening, 26 January. The live music and entertainment throughout the day, regular visits by current and past players highlighted by Q&A sessions and meet and greets, and attractive food and beverage offers prior to and following every match are just some of the highlights, with more to come.

As a reminder, the Riverside becomes available to supporters in all stands approximately 15 minutes after the final whistle after each match. It's then when the riverwalk opens to the public, and that has become a wonderful amenity for our neighbourhood, providing an uninterrupted stroll or jog along the River Thames. To think that was not possible until now is hard to imagine, but that was then. This is now, and the future!

So, if you haven't had a chance to check out the New Riverside Stand, I hope you will. We provided a tour to Mayor of London Sadiq Khan prior to the Aston Villa match in October and I was grateful to read his social media post the following day which said, "As well as a home for Fulham FC, this new development will also provide a community hub and a world-class business and leisure destination." And I have two excellent instances of business and leisure at the Riverside to share.

In the area of business, we recently announced a partnership with global financial technology leader FIS to introduce Markers Presented by FIS, an innovation space and technology hub within Fulham Pier, which is an integral part of the New Riverside Stand development. Fulham Pier will be a riverfront destination unlike anything in London, open every day of the year with restaurants and cafes, a hotel, and spa and members club all overlooking the Thames. Markers Presented by FIS will serve as a hub for business leaders in a "town centre" within West London, and I thank FIS for its support and bold vision for our club, our home, and the City of London.

And for leisure, we're opening the Riverside on Boxing Day ahead of our fixture at Chelsea. Free to attend with food and beverages available for purchase, the Riverside will be open to the public on Thursday, 26 December, from 11am to 6pm with live music and entertainment throughout the day to get us in the mood for the SW6 derby. Whether attending prior to making the short trip to Stamford Bridge or staying to watch with fellow FFC supporters on one of our many screens, the event will be a great example of the kind of activity you can expect throughout the season and year. Please join us!

So, overall, we have a lot to be grateful for – and look forward to – here at Fulham Football Club. You can be confident that we will never be satisfied. We will continue to do our absolute best for our loyal supporters, while striving to meet or exceed the expectations of all. With the holidays upon us, however, this does provide an opportunity to pause and enjoy the moment we're in, and I hope you will.

This is also an occasion for me to thank everyone who makes Fulham Football Club one of the most beloved and respected clubs in all of football. Long before my arrival, Fulham had earned the reputation of being a club grounded in values, tradition and respect. That hasn't changed and never will, thanks to the exceptional people who represent, serve and love our club every minute of every day.

To our coaches, players, alumni, football staff, board members, fan advisory groups, employees and of course our supporters here in London and throughout the world, my appreciation for you is deep. I wish you and yours all the best during the holidays and all of 2025 and beyond.

With that, I hope you have a great afternoon today at Craven Cottage! I know you'll welcome visiting supporters from Southampton with your traditional class and grace, and I'm every bit as confident that you will help lift our squad with your energy and voice from all four stands.

Have a safe and happy festive season! Come on, Fulham!

Shahid Khan
