Title: This weekends games
Post by: St Eve on April 12, 2025, 12:50:29 PM
On paper most of the teams around us have relatively easy games, except us. We need to win and maybe there will be some surprises.
I want:

Palace to beat City
Leicester to beat Brighton
Everton to beat Forest
Saints to beat Villa
Arsenal to beat Bees

Ipswich to beat Chelsea
W Ham to beat Liverpool
Wolves to beat Spurs
United to beat Newcastle

We most definitely need to beat Bournemouth on Monday night.  However much as I like your list I can't see many of them happening!  I want the same as you for Saturday apart from wanting City to beat Palace, as Palace as close to us in the table.  Same for Sunday although I want Newcastle to beat United - still smarting from them doing the double over us!!

Honestly the highest we can realistically achieve is 7th so we should hope for Villa, Brighton and Palace to lose and we beat Bournemouth

I know it's always fun/interesting to look at other games and who you would like to win/lose, BUT the main thing for FFC is to take care of their own business.  Control what you can control.  Can't control the outcome of other games.  Just sayin'.......

Brighton dropped an unexpected 2 points and Forest lost

Results have done us a modest favour really. If we could beat Bournemouth we would start to create a little daylight between Fulham and the teams below us.

And Southampton didn't bounce today, which is good for our 26th April trip there.

Couldn't have hoped for much better. Swear if we had played 4 at the back we could have got something at Arsenal. Love Leicester right now. Christ Monday is massive. Im absolutely bricking it. Every other time we've had this kind of opportunity this season we've not turned up. Can we finally put that to bed? Least Bournemouth hopefully won't low block us as must win for them. Come on lads.

I get your sentiment mate but don't brick it. We will do something fulhamish on Monday and all will be rosy. Or is that just my fulhamish head getting the better of me?

Surprised you wanted palace to beat city.

If anything on form they were one of our biggest threats below us to taking 8th. Over the last 10 and 6 games for form they're ahead of most of the league. Of they kept that up uninterrupted we would struggle to keep 8th on our W/L/W/L/W/L styled form.

Brighton drawing was good for us, so was Everton beating forest (though we have them still to play, so need to keep an eye on their form)..

Villa we're never going to lose to Southampton, and Brentford drawing to arsenal isn't ideal but will do.

We need to win regardless for the remaining games, it's in our hands and hopefully that excites the more than capable squad.

Sounds as though Tosin has settled in nicely:

'Chelsea have lost the plot. Schoolboy defending and no urgency going forward.'

Sadly Chelsea have now pulled one back. Here's hoping Ipswich hang on, although they rarely do unfortunately...

Almost, depends how they get on in the second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt. Lose that and I'd be surprised if he was the Spurs manager next season.

The new Man Utd keeper looks a big improvement on Onana, he only gifted Newcastle one goal.

Looks like Palace are back to being bang average then. So glad we played them twice in their 5 game purple patch

I think that's nine goals conceded in their last two games.

I'm still aiming for Europe but it's important to me we finish above Palace & the Bees in the table.

Newcastle played 'Glad All Over' at the end of the game, an odd choice against Palace?
