Fulham 'should have few worries on PSR'
Football finance writer Chris Weatherspoon offers this update on Fulham's PSR position in the Athletic today:
Fulham (estimated pre-tax loss limit in 2024-25: £77m)
Fulham were close to a PSR breach in 2022-23, the first season of their current stint in the Premier League, ultimately avoiding one via some Covid-19-related deductions as well as costs incurred on the redevelopment of Craven Cottage's Riverside Stand.
Since then, the club have sailed away from both the lower reaches of the table and regulatory trouble, and with 2024-25 being the first year in which they benefit from the full £105million PSR loss limit (as all three of the seasons in their 2022-25 PSR calculation were spent in the Premier League), Fulham should have few worries this time around.
Combined pre-tax losses in the previous two seasons total £58.5million, and we estimate that, after removing allowable costs, Fulham could lose up to £77m for 2024-25 and remain compliant. That looks unlikely, even with underlying operating losses as high as £64.9m a season ago.
This time around, Fulham have enjoyed greater Premier League prize money (we reckon they've seen an over £10million increase), higher player-sale profits (another £10m or so) and, crucially for a club with a history of low gate receipts in a ground that holds less than 30,000 people, the benefits of more premium offerings for matchday attendees.

Fulham player's agents 'deny any negotiations' with Tottenham over summer move
Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with interest in a move for Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz this summer.
These claims initially originated in the UK press, where it was stated Tottenham are set to make an approach for the striker. It was also reported Fulham are determined to retain him, and that has seen them set a £50m price tag.
The Brazilian press have been looking at Tottenham's reported interest in the Fulham player because Flamengo will benefit from his sale.
Brazilian journalist Venê Casagrande took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide an update on reports linking the 24-year-old to Tottenham.
He explained the Fulham player's representatives 'deny any negotiations' with the Europa League winners over a move this summer.
The journalist reports Flamengo are entitled to receive 25% from a future sale plus an additional fee via FIFA's solidarity mechanism.
Muniz's contract at Fulham lasts until 2026, with an option for another year. The South American managed 11 goals and two assists from 36 games for Marco Silva's side in the recently concluded season.

Leeds United And Fulham 'Are Clearly Interested' In Right-sided Bundesliga Star
Leeds United and Fulham 'are clearly interested' in a Bundesliga right-sided player who is a priority target for a French Ligue 1 club this summer.
Daniel Farke is looking to strengthen his Leeds side right across the pitch this season and he has had his eye on his native Germany, where he feels there are bargains to be had.
Fulham are also in the market to back Marco Silva and continue their progression under the Portuguese tactician, with improving on this season's eleventh in the Premier League the goal.
Those desires have led both clubs to the door of Bundesliga side Mainz, where they are keen on a right-sided star.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, both Leeds and Fulham 'are clearly interested' in signing Mainz's right-sided player Anthony Caci.
That will put them on a collision course with French top flight outfit Rennes.
Rennes have discussed the Mainz man internally and believe he is the perfect fit for what they want, despite knowing it will be a tough deal to do.
It is suggested that his valuation, of around €10m, is within reach for Rennes, but it is the competition which makes the transfer difficult.
There could be further competition from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, who consider Caci to be a plan B.
Rennes also have a plan B in the shape of Freiburg's Kiliann Sildillia.
The chance to move to the Premier League could prove to be highly tempting for Caci and it is unclear if he would have a preference between Leeds and Fulham.
Mainz managed to finish in sixth spot in the Bundesliga this season, in the process qualifying for the Conference League.
Caci was a key man in that feat, featuring in no fewer than 33 of Mainz's 34 Bundesliga matches and chipping in with seven assists.
Despite being deployed on the right side of midfield by Mainz this season, last term the club even used him as a left-sided midfielder, a left-back and as a centre-back, indicating his versatility.
His deal at Mainz though has just a year to run and the Bundesliga side have been attempting to extend his contract, something which may now prove more difficult given the interest in the Frenchman.

Rennes to rival Leeds and Fulham for Mainz's Anthony Caci
Stade Rennais see FSV Mainz's Anthony Caci (27) as the successor to VfB Stuttgart-bound full-back Lorenz Assignon, according to a report from Foot Mercato, however, they may face some stern Premier League competition.
Assignon, a starter at right-back last season, is already in Germany in order to complete his medical and put pen to paper on a deal to join Stuttgart. That deal is expected to be concluded imminently. In the meantime, Rennes are working on signing his successor. The club have set their sights on Mainz's Caci, whose contract at the Bundesliga side expires at the end of next season.
Whilst his current club have not given up hope of extending his deal, there are plenty of suitors for the €10m-rated defender. As well as Rennes, Leeds United, Fulham, and Borussia Dortmund are all also interested in the Frenchman. Freiburg's Kiliann Sildillia is seen as a plan B by the Breton club.

Club open talks to sign Fulham man – Formal offer round the corner
São Paulo have opened talks to sign Carlos Vinícius when he leaves Fulham on a free transfer at the end of the month.
That's according to UOL, who report that the Brazilian club's board are considering formalising an offer for the 30-year-old forward soon.
They explain that the Fulham man fits the characteristics of what the club are looking for. They need a replacement for Jonathan Calleri, who is set to be out injured until 2026.
Vinícius has received inquiries from other teams in Brazil but has not yet made a decision about his future. Fulham announced this week that he would be leaving on a free at the end of his contract. He managed just four appearances under Marco Silva this season.
It's not the first time he's been linked with a return to Brazil. Palmeiras opened talks with him in November 2023 but that never progressed. Grêmio also showed interest last year.
Now it is São Paulo who are at the front of the queue and ready to make a formal offer for the Fulham man, who is set to leave at the end of the month and will be available on a free transfer.

Crystal Palace face Fulham competition to sign experienced player – PL duo 'in running' for free signing
Earlier this week, we covered claims from Spain which stated Crystal Palace are moving in for Atlético Madrid's Reinildo Mandava. Fulham are also in the mix.
That's at least what Africa Foot are reporting, and they state Crystal Palace have to battle it out with Fulham and others to sign the left-back.
Los Rojiblancos have offered the 31-year-old's a short-term contract so that he's in the squad until the Club World Cup. The defender will then be allowed to pick his next club and join them on a free transfer.
The former Lille man has caught the attention of several clubs and this includes Crystal Palace, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur. The report mainly focuses on the Europa League winners and then mentions the Eagles and Marco Silva's side.
According to Africa Foot, both Crystal Palace and Fulham are 'in the running' to sign the Mozambique international.
The FA Cup winners signed Ben Chilwell on loan from Chelsea, and he will return to his parent club. This leaves them with Tyrick Mitchell, who has a contract expires in June.
Crystal Palace would have a more urgent need than Fulham to sign a new left-back this summer.

Fulham still in Caci chase
Fulham remain keen on signing Anthony Caci this summer having tried to bring the Mainz utility man to Craven Cottage in January.
The Whites will face significant competition in trying to lure the versatile full back, who has played for most of this season on the right wing-back in the Bundesliga, to London with Leeds United, Rennes and Borussia Dortmund also keen on the 27 year-old's services, according to Sebastien Denis of Footmercato this afternoon.
The 27 year-old laid on seven assists as Mainz finished sixth and qualified for the Europa League this term and, with his contract expiring next summer, they might be persuaded to cash in on Caci's fine form. He has made more than a hundred appearances in Ligue 1 for Strasbourg – mostly as a left back – and was converted to one of the Bundesliga's most creative wing-backs by Bo Henriksen.
According to various reports in France, the Premier League pair of Fulham and Leeds represent intriguing options for the former French under-23 international, who is at the top of Rennes' list of summer targets, whilst Dortmund view Caci as a rotational option. In a sign that Mainz might be preparing for exit, Henriksen has identified Freiburg's Kiliann Sildillia as a potential summer signing.

Fulham and Leeds still 'lurking' for player – May need to move quickly if they want transfer chance
Fulham and Leeds United are still 'lurking' in the background for Mainz right back Antony Caci but now face competition from Stade Rennais.
That's according to Foot Mercato, who report that Caci is attracting interest from clubs around Europe thanks to his performances for Mainz this season. Fulham and Leeds are among them.
Caci was a key player for Mainz as they secured European football for next season, with a career high seven assists contributing to that massively.
He now finds himself at a crossroads after three years in the Bundesliga, particularly as his current contract expires in June 2026.
Mainz are trying to extend that but there are numerous clubs in Europe interested in him, attracted by his profile, potential and experience.
Stade Rennais have put him at the top of their list to replace Lorenz Assignon, who is set to join VfB Stuttgart. Leeds and Fulham are also keeping a close eye on him, while Borussia Dortmund consider him as a Plan B.
There's plenty of competition for the Premier League duo, then, who might want to start making moves no to avoid missing out on the 27-year-old this summer.

Fulham set to ruin Everton transfer plans with Newcastle deal
Everton are on the hunt for a new midfielder this summer, with multiple departures set to take place.
The Toffees have already lost Abdoulaye Doucoure, who is set to leave Goodison Park when his contract expires this summer.
Following him out the door could be Idrissa Gueye, who has been linked with Paris FC.
Therefore, a midfielder is wanted by David Moyes as he seeks to take Everton back into the top-half of the Premier League.
Newcastle set to keep Sean Longstaff after Fulham revelation
One of Everton's targets this summer is Sean Longstaff.
The Newcastle United midfielder was a highly important player at the Magpies but has slowly fallen out of favour as Eddie Howe's team establishes themselves in the top five.
However, despite speculation that he could join Everton this summer, the 27-year-old could now stay at St. James' Park thanks to moves by Fulham.
According to the Mirror, page 57 (5 June), Marco Silva's side are looking to sign Joe Willock from Newcastle.
While Howe is a big admirer of the forward, his goals have recently dried up after he has struggled for consistent fitness.
If Fulham were to bring Willock to the London club, Newcastle would keep hold of Longstaff despite Everton's and Leeds United's interest.
Everton should push for Longstaff signing despite Willock move
Despite what the report says, Everton should push for Longstaff even if Willock moves to Fulham.
The 27-year-old has been fundamental to Newcastle's rise and is about to hit his peak.
Under Moyes, the Englishman could become the Toffees' big asset and potentially help the Merseyside club return to Europe.
Big names need to come into Everton if they are finally to bridge the gap between the relegation-threatened clubs and the top half.
Hopefully, Moyes will be able to achieve this aim in the transfer window and bring in multiple new faces.

Fulham considering signing yet another former Arsenal player
Joe Willock's injury-hit spell on Tyneside may be coming to an end, with Fulham keen to bring the midfielder back to London as part of their rebuild.
Fulham are exploring a move for Joe Willock, the Newcastle United midfielder who began his career at Arsenal, as the west London club continue their habit of recruiting former Gunners.
Willock, 25, made 78 senior appearances for Arsenal, scoring 11 goals, before leaving for Newcastle in 2021. After an explosive loan spell under Steve Bruce, in which he scored in seven consecutive Premier League matches, Newcastle paid £25 million to sign him permanently.
However, persistent injury problems have derailed his momentum over the past two seasons, limiting his impact and raising the possibility of a summer departure. He has missed 61 games through injury for Newcastle.
According to reports, Fulham are now keen to bring Willock back to London, with Newcastle considering selling the midfielder to raise funds. Although Eddie Howe remains an admirer of Willock, he has a surplus of midfield options and may be willing to part with the former Hale End graduate should a suitable offer arrive.
Willock's potential move would continue a trend that has seen Fulham serve as an outpost for ex-Arsenal players, leading some fans to refer to them as 'Arsenal West'. Their current squad already includes Bernd Leno, Alex Iwobi, and Emile Smith Rowe, the latter joining last season.
Reiss Nelson also spent time on loan at Craven Cottage, while Willian, whose disastrous one-year stint at Arsenal was followed by a resurgence at Fulham, was released at the end of the 2024–25 campaign.
Joe Willock joined Arsenal's academy aged five and rose through the ranks alongside his older brothers Chris and Matty, who were also on the books. Chris, a winger, never made a Premier League appearance for the first team but has since built a solid career in the Championship, although he was relegated to League One this season alongside Aaron Ramsey with Cardiff City. It is unclear if he will remain with the Bluebirds, whom he only joined from QPR at the start of last season.
Matty spent time with the youth setup before leaving for Manchester United, though he never broke through there either and retired from playing when he was just 25 following his release from Salford.
Joe was the standout of the trio, breaking into the Arsenal first team under Unai Emery and scoring his first senior goal in a 3–0 Europa League win away at Vorskla Poltava in 2018. He added goals against Liverpool, Blackpool, and Eintracht Frankfurt, and featured regularly in cup competitions under Mikel Arteta before his move north.
Should he make the switch to Fulham, Willock would be reunited with several familiar faces and potentially benefit from a less crowded midfield. For Fulham, it would be another calculated gamble on a player whose technical grounding at Arsenal remains solid, but whose fitness record has lately been a concern.
No fee has yet been reported, but any agreement is likely to include performance-based incentives, given Willock's recent injury history. Newcastle are not under pressure to sell, though sources suggest the club may listen to offers in the region of £15 million.

Fulham now pushing hardest to sign £15m midfielder with 10 UCL appearances
Fulham are the club pushing the hardest to sign an "outstanding" midfielder, with Marco Silva set to be backed in the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Cottagers set to back Silva amid uncertain future
Having been at Craven Cottage for just under four years, Silva is now among the longest-serving managers in the Premier League, but there is widespread interest in the Portuguese coach, with Juventus becoming the latest club to express an interest.
With Tottenham Hotspur and clubs from the Saudi Pro League also keen on the 47-year-old, it could be difficult for the board to retain his services, but they have now displayed a willingness to back the manager in the summer transfer window.
That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, which states Silva has been promised money to improve his squad, while also revealing the Cottagers have now set their sights on a new midfielder.
Fulham are said to be the club pushing the hardest to sign Mainz attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri, who is set to leave the German club this summer, having attracted widespread interest from the Premier League.
Amiri has already turned down a move to Leeds United, while Crystal Palace have identified him as a potential target, but the west Londoners appear to be more determined to get a move over the line.
A deal would not break the bank either, with the 28-year-old expected to be allowed to leave for a fee of around £15m, and he could be brought in to replace Tom Cairney, amid interest from Wrexham, while fellow midfielder Harrison Reed is also set to depart.
"Outstanding" Amiri enjoyed impressive 2024-25 campaign
The Mainz star has been particularly impressive going forward as of late, picking up seven goals and five assists in 30 Bundesliga outings, and his displays at club level have led to a return to the German national side.
Upon selecting the central midfielder, manager Julian Nagelsmann said: "Nadiem is having an outstanding season. He's a very good example of how you can take a step back to push your career forward."
The German maestro had been uninvolved with his national side since 2020, but fought hard to regain his place, saying: "After I received a call from Julian Nagelsmann on Tuesday, I was in tears. It was my dream for so long to be able to play for the national team again. I worked hard, trying to improve every day"
Not only does Amiri have international experience, but he also has 10 Champions League appearances to his name, which could stand him in good stead to be a success at Craven Cottage, and a fee of £15m seems like a bargain for a player of his quality.

Fulham and Palace to Battle for Signing of Bundesliga Attacking Midfielder
Fulham and Crystal Palace in Battle for Nadiem Amiri: Who Will Win the Race?
As the summer transfer window approaches, Fulham and Crystal Palace are both looking to strengthen their squads. One player high on both clubs' radar is Nadiem Amiri, the Mainz attacking midfielder who has been in superb form this season. With his €18 million (£15.1m, $20.5m) asking price within reach, Amiri could be the perfect addition to the Premier League, and it looks like the race to secure his signature is heating up.
Amiri's Impressive Season and International Recognition
Amiri, a seven-time capped Germany international, has had a standout season with Mainz, contributing directly to 18 goals across 47 appearances, nine goals and nine assists. His form has earned him a recall to the Germany squad, though he will miss the upcoming Nations League semi-final against Portugal due to a minor injury. This season's success has placed Amiri firmly on the radar of several top clubs, including those in the Bundesliga, but it's Fulham and Crystal Palace that are leading the charge in the Premier League.
With no release clause in his contract, Amiri's €18 million price tag seems relatively modest for a player of his calibre. According to TEAMtalk, clubs from across Europe have expressed interest, but it's understood that Fulham are pushing hardest for his signature. This comes as Marco Silva's side look to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich for £46 million last summer. Amiri, 28, could be a direct replacement for the long-serving Tom Cairney, who has also been the subject of transfer speculation.
Fulham's Push for Amiri: Strengthening the Midfield
Fulham's need for a quality midfielder is clear. With Palhinha gone and other midfielders such as Harrison Reed potentially heading out of the door, Reed linked with a reunion with former manager Scott Parker at newly-promoted Burnley, the club is actively looking to bolster their engine room. Fulham have made it known that they are pushing for Amiri, understanding that his technical ability and international pedigree would provide an upgrade in the centre of the park.
Amiri's experience in the Bundesliga and his versatility make him a prime candidate to slot into Fulham's midfield. His vision, passing range, and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively could make him an immediate starter for Silva. However, Palace's interest also presents a challenge for Fulham.
Crystal Palace: A Strong Contender for Amiri
While Fulham may be pushing hardest, Crystal Palace have also earmarked Amiri as one of their key transfer targets. The Eagles are looking to add depth to their midfield, and Amiri would provide an ideal solution. His work ethic, technical skills, and experience would make him a valuable asset to the Premier League side. With Palace's strong focus on youth development and the continued evolution of their squad under manager Oliver Glasner, Amiri could fit seamlessly into their plans.
However, Palace are not alone in their pursuit. Fulham's ambitions, bolstered by recent financial backing and an eye on European football, could give them an edge. If both clubs make similar offers, the decision may come down to which club Amiri believes offers the most promising future, with Fulham's Premier League stability likely being an appealing factor.
Story of Amiri's On/Off Leeds Move
Amiri's name may be familiar to some Premier League fans due to his ill-fated move to Leeds United two summers ago. At that time, Leeds were keen to secure the midfielder, reportedly agreeing a £6m fee and personal terms with Amiri. However, the deal fell through after Amiri requested a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave if Leeds didn't secure promotion. The deal collapsed, and Amiri returned to Bayer Leverkusen before moving to Mainz, where he has since thrived.
His time at Mainz has revitalised his career, and now the player is set for a potential move to the Premier League once again. Whether Fulham or Palace will be his next destination is still uncertain, but one thing is clear: Amiri's talents are likely to be a valuable asset to whichever club secures him.
Our View – EPL Index Analysis
For Fulham fans, the prospect of signing Nadiem Amiri is an exciting one. The club has done well in recent years, but the midfield remains an area that needs strengthening. Amiri, with his impressive technical ability and experience, could provide the kind of creativity and control that Fulham have lacked at times. His international experience and versatility would make him an ideal fit for Marco Silva's midfield, allowing the team to operate with more fluidity and dynamism.
For Palace, Amiri would also represent an excellent signing. Oliver Glasner has been working to solidify his midfield, and Amiri's arrival could provide a real boost. His ability to operate in different roles and contribute to both attack and defence would add depth to the Eagles' squad. However, Fulham's financial power and ambition might make them a more attractive destination for the player, giving them the edge in this transfer battle.
Ultimately, whichever club lands Amiri will be making a significant acquisition. His style of play, combined with his European pedigree, makes him an excellent addition to the Premier League, and both Fulham and Palace would be wise to move quickly to secure his services.

Cuenca 'wants to stay' with Fulham
Jorge Cuenca has rejected a potential move to Rayo Vallecano because he wants to stay and fight for his place in Fulham's first team, according to reports from Spain.
Cuenca's representatives have rubbished reports in the Spanish press yesterday that he had asked to leave Craven Cottage because he was disappointed by his lack of playing time in his first season in England. Fulham sources said they were surprised by that reporting as they believed Cuenca has a good relationship with Marco Silva and has overcome initial homesickness to be keen to establish himself in the Premier League.
Fulham had rejected an initial loan bid from Rayo Vallecano because Silva sees the former Barcelona and Villarreal centre back as a key part of his future plans. The 26 year-old made twelve first-team appearances in his first season in SW6, with eight of them coming in the Premier League. Cuenca, who has largely deputised for left-sided centre back Calvin Basey so far in his Whites' career, is likely to have more first-team opportunities as the Nigerian is expected to be part of his country's squad for the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, which will run from 21 December to the 18 January 2026.

Fulham keen on Willock
Fulham are exploring a move for the Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock, according to a report in this morning's Irish Mirror.
The Whites are known to be long-term admirers of the former Arsenal man, whose availability is also being monitored by Crystal Palace. The 25 year-old has made 143 appearances and scored 18 goals since moving to St. James' Park in 2021 and United may consider a sale to fund their summer signings, even though Willock is highly regarded by Eddie Howe. There is a significant gap between what Fulham would be willing to pay for the midfielder and Newcastle's valuation of their former England under-21 international, with United looking to recoup the reported £25m they paid for the Walthamstow-born League Cup winner.
Marco Silva is looking to add more creativity into his midfield ahead of the new campaign having identified the predictability of Fulham's patterns of play as one of the reasons why the Whites' European bid hit the buffers in the final weeks of this campaign.

Jimenez and de Fougerolles get Gold Cup call-ups
Fulham pair Raul Jimenez and Luc de Fougerolles will compete in this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup having been included in Mexico and Canada's final squads.
Jimenez will be a key part of Mexico's bid to retain the trophy they won in 2023 as Javier Aguirre's side head into the tournament as one of the favourites following their Nations League triumph in March. The Fulham forward, who has scored 39 goals in 109 games for his country, is back in the national team fold after a superb season in SW6 where he scored fourteen goals in 43 appearances in all competitions.
Mexico have been drawn in Group A alongside Costa Rica, Suriname and Dominican Republic. Their first fixture is against the Dominican Republic on Sunday 15 June.
Young centre back de Fougerolles has been included in Canada's squad after proving his fitness with Fulham's under-21s towards the end of the season. The highly-rated 19 year-old has won two senior international caps but had been sidelined with injury since October until he returned for the final month of the domestic season for Hayden Mullins' side. The Canadians, who are co-hosting the tournament with the United States, are in Group B with Honduras, El Salvador and Curaçao. Canada's first fixture sees Jesse March's side take on Honduras on 18 June.

Leeds United set to rival Marco Silva's Fulham for £8.5m defender who played with Josuha Guilavogui
Much will be made of when Leeds United actually start to bring signings to fruition, with another target linked.
Daniel Farke will be working hard behind the scenes at Leeds to make things tick in the Premier League.
There have been rumours of a return for Kalvin Phillips who is definitely leaving Man City, but whether that is back to Elland Road is another question.
Fans will be divided on whether a return would be welcomed or whether they've passed the point of heartfelt reunions.
First of all, they have to shrug off heavy competition, and Fulham boss Marco Silva is proving to be tricky.
Leeds United set to rival Marco Silva for £8.5m defender
The Whites are already fighting off competition from the likes of Everton who are keen on many targets.
Angus Kinnear is proving to be a nuisance to the 49ers' plans as Everton look to battle Leeds for Gustavo Hamer.
Well, now it's Silva and Fulham who have provided the competition, but a certain former player could help Farke land this target.
Foot Mercato reports that Fulham and Leeds are 'lurking' in the background for Mainz right-back Antony Caci.
Caci played with fan favourite Josuha Guilavogui whilst the midfielder was at Mainz in the 23/24 season, as the 49ers look to strengthen their full-back options.
TEAMtalk have previously said that Caci is worth £8.5m as Farke could land a bargain with the Frenchman's arrival.
How Jayden Bogle compares with Leeds target Antony Caci
With another right-back mooted, it's only right to compare Caci with the irreplaceable Jayden Bogle.
Bogle could be Leeds' signing of the season as the right-back was a revelation in his first season at Elland Road.
The 24-year-old doesn't seem to be getting replaced with Farke, including Bogle in his six guaranteed starters next season.
But Caci does possess some qualities that could be of use to Leeds in the Premier League, and he does some things better than Bogle.
It's no surprise that Caci is on Farke's radar as his attacking numbers from full-back/wing-back are excellent, as Farke prides himself on attacking full-backs.
The top flight is a whole different ball game to Ligue 1 however, and Caci would have to make a real statement to get in over Bogle.
If the 49ers' recruitment of right-backs continues to be as good as Bogle's, Caci could be a brilliant arrival.

Tottenham join Crystal Palace, Fulham in Reinildo Mandava chase
Tottenham are now in the race for Atletico Madrid wide man Reinildo Mandava, with Crystal Palace and Fulham also keen on the soon-to-be free agent.
According to Africa Foot, Reinildo Mandava is attracting big interest from Premier League clubs, with Tottenham the latest to enter the chase. Fulham and Crystal Palace are credited with an interest in the versatile wide man, who is expected to leave Atletico Madrid as a free agent after the Club World Cup.
Reinildo Mandava has made the necessary impact under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, making over 100 appearances since signing from LOSC Lille in January 2022. His positional versatility allowed the Argentine manager to use him across the backline in his fluid system.
While he's not the first name on the team sheet, Simeone considers him a valuable squad player, which has caught the attention of several clubs ahead of the summer. Reinildo's current deal was about to expire at the end of this month, but with the Club World Cup around the corner, Atletico Madrid thought it wise to extend until August 2025.
Either way, Reinildo is expected to leave the club on a free transfer once the Club World Cup campaign ends, as he might be headed to the Premier League. Some clubs are looking at him with intent as his experience and availability on a free transfer, as Premier League sides, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Fulham are the current interested parties.
Aston Villa and Manchester United held an interest before January, but at the time Atletico Madrid had no interest in parting ways with the defender. However, with a potential free transfer on the horizon, he could be a valuable addition to sides like Tottenham, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Reinildo Mandava set for the Premier League?
The Mozambican defender will have plenty of choices as Tottenham are the latest to enter the chase for his signature. Spurs are likely to look for a backup defender to replace Ben Davies, who will leave the club, as Reinildo is similar in terms of the Welshman's versatility.
Fulham are bracing for offers to come in for Antonee Robinson, and even if the American left-back ends up staying, Marco Silva would see Reinildo as a viable backup or competitor for the role. Similarly, Crystal Palace also have a shortage of options in the left-back role, as Ben Chilwell will return to Chelsea once his loan ends. Moreover, Palace's system does favour someone like the Atletico Madrid wide player, who can also feature as part of the back three.

EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle eyeing Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz as striker search takes twist
Newcastle United are weighing up a move for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.
Having seen previous target Liam Delap chose Chelsea after holding talks with a number of interested parties, Newcastle are exploring alternatives in search of a likely replacement for Callum Wilson.
This has seen the club take a close look at Muniz, who could leave Craven Cottage this summer as the Brazilian's representatives explore his options.
We can reveal that Newcastle met with the 24-year-old's camp last month over a potential move, with two other Premier League clubs also in contact.
Muniz scored 11 goals in all competitions last season after netting 10 during the 2023/24 campaign, and has previously been linked with Chelsea and Spurs.
The former Flamengo talent is currently on a low wage at Fulham and would not break the bank in that respect, adding to his appeal when lucrative packages may be needed in our hunt for a starting right winger, centre-back and goalkeeper.
Fulham will be reluctant to lose the South American and won't allow him to leave on the cheap, but Newcastle could have scope to negotiate a reasonable fee now he's approaching the final 12 months of his contract. It is not clear, however, if they have an option to extend by a further year.
Whether Wilson stays or not – the chances of the 33-year-old remaining on Tyneside are unlikely – the club must bring in fresh competition for Alexander Isak ahead of the 2025/26 season, and Muniz is an option who ticks several boxes, providing the price is right.

Newcastle mull Muniz move
Newcastle United have added Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz to their list of summer striker targets after missing out on Liam Delap, according to reports from the north east this evening.
NUFCblog.co.uk claims that the Magpies met with Muniz's representatives last month and the Brazilian striker told the Athletic earlier this week that one of his dreams is to play in the Champions' League. Two other Premier League clubs – believed to be Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea – have also been asked the former Flamengo forward's representatives about the 24 year-old's availability, but Fulham are not adamant Muniz is not for sale and their valuation of £50m is seen as steep by the striker's suitors.
Marco Silva is looking to supplement his striking resources rather than lose key players this summer. The Fulham head coach and his first signing after taking over Scott Parker in SW6 enjoy a close relationship, with the club preparing to begin talks with Muniz about a new, long-term deal at Craven Cottage. Fulham can extend his current contract, which runs until next summer, by a further twelve months, and see him as a key player who can rival Raul Jimenez for a starting spot next season.
The popular striker scored eleven goals in 34 games last season – including the winner at St. James' Park in February as Fulham did the double over Eddie Howe's side.

If the Cuenca rumours are correct, i'm most pleased, i reckon he'll earn a regular place.
Incidentally, rumours was questioned by spellcheck. Have we gone fully American?
