I really hope Muniz finally puts in a good performance today.

I'm a big fan but he's been way off the pace since returning from injury, worryingly so.

He's had plenty of game time since returning to rediscover his form but for whatever reason it's just not happened yet

Raul not on the bench in the end.

Quote from: akf on May 09, 2026, 02:59:27 PMRaul not on the bench in the end.

Apparently aggravated something in the warmup, so JKA comes in

Hope Muniz can find something, had that goal chalked off in the FA cup, which wouldve given him at least some confidence,  with no Raul and knowing how Marco views JKA, he's probably getting 80+ mins today

WTF were those two passes towards Lukic? Luckily Lukic managed so save us both times, but those passes towards him were incredibly poor and incredibly risky.

Muniz has won 3-4 headers so far, but there's no one within ten yards of him to benefit. If you're going to hit it to him long like that, at least try and have people at feet so we retain the ball

The snag is that his speed and his crosses were his biggest assets. Minus one of those and he wouldn't be my first choice by quite a distance. I suppose the perfect scenario for the team is a gallop down the wing, a cross bang in the middle of the area of uncertainty and Muniz straight off the forehead into the net.

Bournemouth with 10 men was right where we want them as it would help nullify their counter attack.

10 v 10 more space on the pitch plays right into how they want to play.

Andersens stinker of a season continues

Quote from: SerbianLad on May 09, 2026, 03:38:16 PMRobinson has been a lot better today, he's been very close to his best, his crosses, however, have been terrible

I can't recall when Robinson's crossing was ever his greatest asset. He did show improvement before his injury but. "Greatest asset"? Not my recollection.

Not the greatest at all. His speed + his crosses when they were better made him an asset. However with just one of those currently he is decidedly average.

Oh behave ffs. We'd all being going nuts if that was against Fulham and not given as a red.

Unbelievable!!!
In the last couple of seasons, we almost never saw our opponents get reds for those. I actually seem to remember a Bournemouth player avoid a red in one match for a similar type of tackle.

Straight 3 match ban I believe so he'll miss the first PL game of next season also if he's with us.

Personally, I'd be delighted if he moved on in the summer but I can't see who'd buy him, certainly not on this season's form and for nowhere near what we paid

The time for Silva, Wilson and Anderson to move on is now.

I'd agree that Jedi is movable as well...but are you planning to have Sess as the backup LB and upgrade that position?   What about the starting RB spot (which I think is a bigger question mark than LB)?

We must be the most one dimensional spineless team in the league right now.

Not one leader on that pitch, Tom Cairney cannot lead.

Said it before we need to bring in an experienced winner, end of their career like Xhaka who can take the team round the neck and give them a shake.

Not one club fears us and it shows in our results as we get rolled over all to often

Potentially we do have a lot of what we need but as was pointed out to me recently the players seem to be lost and do not seem confident in what they are doing. It's the same mistakes, it's the poor passing, it's the lack of improvement. Personally I feel that sits with Silva.

i saw the slagging off of tc not running at people and thought to myself do people actually understand what he's on the pitch for. the difference in possession since hes gone off is there to see. at times all the players are guilty of just taking the easy option of passing to tc only to get it back in almost meaningless posession for possessions sake. and for me he sits too deep. but thats obviously what the manager wants. the fault lies with not enough movement or running off the ball into space. from everyone.  only now as the final whistle draws near do we see anything like the urgency which should have been on show from the first minute.  still time to get something

Tete, Bassey and Diop could work well together although that trio lacks a bit of pace. Bobb and Fred could add the pace and ESR the nous we have missed in the middle for ages. Sess and King in midfield? Lukic captain?

Have as much possession as you want and add in a 1000 completed passes if they don't lead to anything.
The games too quick for him and yes he may well keep control but he also kills attacks as he's two slow in the transition and doesn't have the legs to go past a man or create a break.
He was signed for nostalgia unfortunately and he should have been let go to finish his career in a lower league

Once again we draw a blank. There's an excuse for me - I'm old - but none for FFC I'm afraid. Losing Andersen gives the forwards a get-out, but it was still only 10 v 10 so I don't buy that as a reason for not scoring.

Thanks for the response. I don't think those changes will make a lot of difference unless we sign at least one incisive striker for them to work with. It would still indicate the slow build-up and none of the above have the strength to deal with a packed defence. IMO.

No disputing his footballing brain but we dont have the luxury of having a player who can sit in the midfield spraying passes.
We are a relegation fodder bar a few results pre Xmas and having a man who can't run doesn't work for us.
Great servant for the club but his "legacy" meant he got the contract extension as it was a PR stunt to keep fans happy.
He should have been released as we would have been no worse off without him, maybe better with financial fair play or whatever It's now called without his wages.

We need to be more like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford - when we get big offers just flog them as we could of been £90m better off and without Muniz who cannot hit a barn door and Robinson who is tripe.

Need to somehow unearth a gem of a striker, all the above managed to so maybe out scouting system needs to be looked at.

If Silva has decided to go then he should say so now and give his successor time to asses his options and the recruitment team (?) to find players that will match the new man's style. If he's staying then there need to be major discussions within the club as to what has gone wrong this season. I know we are still mid-table and have had some decent results but there's no consistency and the football is no longer as entertaining as it was when he first arrived. It would be refreshing to hear someone asking him the difficult questions and hear his replies.
