It's a bit of a frenetic start. I'd rather we didn't give them space to move the ball about and try to get the atmosphere anxious inside the stadium

Andersen once again cannot do the basics when defending from a cross, that must be the fifth or sixth time this season

Jimenez done to easily there. I know he's a striker and that's not his forte, but he should have done a bit better there.

We have no midfield or anyone attempting to play deep enough to mark Eze, might as well put one of the CB's in there and whack Diop on for Reed because he's one foul from a yellow already

Manage your expectations lads. These are the probable Champions and have beaten better teams than ours. They might as well enjoy themselves and throw caution to the wind.  We'll probably lose however we play. Just make a go of it.

You're right, and honestly I wouldn't mind losing if only we'd show a bit of character.

Robinson at fault for both goals.

First goal, yes it was poor from Jimenez, but Robinson should be the one defending Saka there. Second goal was just completely his fault.

And now they almost get another because of him.

Horrific performance from Robinson so far

Reed and Lukic in midfield will never cope with this.

But tbf they're not really to blame for the goals. Sooner Marco gone the better. No excuse for the complete tepid display, just more of the same from this whole season.
Can't believe we've let Arsenal play their way back into form

Chuk off, completely agree.
I would say bring off Robinson but Sess v Saka would be water torture.

We miss Kevin.. a lot.

Who can play on the left wing? Bobb is hardly an impact sub.

I'm tempted to go Muniz and play 2 upfront but god knows how that'll work.

When Gyokeres had the ball there wasn't another Arsenal player within 25 yards of goal, and all yet both CB's and LB are somehow unaware of what is going on, it's U11 stuff and it's laughable. There's a realistic prospect of Europe on the horizon and we turn up looking like we should be in the bottom 3 based on that performance so far

I actually think Chuckuweze has been one of the worst culprits, giving it away and not tracking back at all. He's beginning to look like a good time player - totally absent and frustrated when he's off it.

Not sure I'd be signing him in the summer based on his last 10 games or so.

The commentators are saying the squad has had a bug for the past week, which might help explain some of the lethargy.

Beyond that there is no excuse, this should have been treated as a cup final given the game's importance.

I'd get one of Cuenca/Diop on for Robinson and move Bassey to lb. I'd also get TC on for Reed and Muniz for Chukwueze and move to 4-4-2. I'd also go at them and try and be as attacking as possible. We already have the worst goal difference out of all the teams we are fighting for European places, so if it comes to goal difference, we'll likely miss out anyway. I'd rather we conceded more goals in the second half but actually go for it.
Title: Re: Arsenal (A) Saturday 02/05

Never thought I'd say this...but Jedi is a backup LB at best.

Anderson is not the player to lead the back line.

If Reed is the best we've got as a backup midfielder...the squad isn't deep enough.

And I'll say this.   Silva needs to leave because this side doesn't look like it knows what to do when they have the ball at their feet.   The offense is disjointed.    Winning last week just papered over the cracks in the attack.

Why is Chucky in the midfield?

Silva out.

Diop needs to start for the rest of the season.  I'd sit Anderson.
Jedi is the backup LB when Sess is healthy.

This midfield has a TON of questions.   Who do we have that can both put in a shift when out of possession, THEN lead the build up when we get the ball in possession?   I don't think there is a player on the squad that can do it consistently.    I can't even blame Berge this game.

So frustrating.

The other thing I don't get; if there's been a virus going round the squad then fair enough, but knowing you're potentially starting players that aren't 100%, why are you going with the standard 4-2-3-1 formation? Surely again you pick something a bit more defensive to conserve energy rather than coming out so exposed and allowing Arsenal to just pick us off

I find it so infuriating that Leno and Bassey slow the game down to a stop and usually then make a terrible pass

Robinson is flat out embarrassing today. One of the worst performances from a Fulham player in recent years.

Good effort from Castagne, even if it was a bit too close to the middle

Knee by the looks of it. Hopefully that's not a bad one. Miserable afternoon for him especially. A striking reminder of what he's missing.

Is there something in our training routines that lead to all these pulled muscle injuries? Seems to be a new one every week.

Abject performance. There's a few players who need to have a look at themselves. We pay their wages but it seems some have their eyes elsewhere.
Not that great from Marco either.

Sorry but I really don't buy the knee jerk hate for Marco after this. With several players out injured and a squad brought down by a virus I don't think any manager could have got anything from this one. Arsenal were just a lot better than us today.
