ESR on the left flank, don't think I have seen him play there before, hopefully he gets things going with Robinson, they need to keep an eye on Palmer.

Surprising Sky Stat, Fulham are the second best starters, (as in getting  a goal) , in the first 15 minutes of all games this season

Good save Leno. That looked dangerous.

We don't want to give too many corners away if that's how they'll come in.

Post by: SimonDaviesEnjoyer on January 07, 2026, 07:44:52 PM
The players do look a little tired, and I'm not surprised.

I recall Clive Walker scoring quite a few for us direct from corners.

Agree - fine save.

Diop has been superb defensively, but he's given the ball away two times already in very dangerous position.

I agree we look a bit tired, but also our players look pretty confident.

At the moment we're surviving but not much else. They look fitter and faster. Mind you, we do look dangerous when we get forward.

Post by: jayffc on January 07, 2026, 07:49:36 PM
They e very effectively spotted our plans to use Cairney as our deep lying playmaker and are shutting that down completely . Closing him down the moment he retreats to pick it up. Making us panic when playing it out from the back a bit.

If we can find a way around it it will leave a space in the middle to break but gotta be smart.

Feels like both sides are relying on sloppy mistakes to make chances. Not much going on otherwise.

I agree completely. No need for a back 5 now. Get Kevin on and attack them. If Marco doesn't trust TC in a back 4, get Lukic/Reed on for him.

Raul was coming back from an offside position when the ball was played and never got fully back onside.

I agree completely. No need for a back 5 now. Get Kevin on and attack them. If Marco doesn't trust TC in a back 4, get Lukic/Reed on for him.

I'll just repeat this. I don't see why we couldn't keep TC while we have a man advantage though, but if Marco thinks it's necessary, it's still worth it. We'll struggle to break them down with a back 5.

Kevin for Andersen/Diop (or maybe even Cuenca as he's booked now) is absolutely necessary.

I think the clear sub is to bring on Kevin.

I think the overlapping wingers is working well and a formation change isn't needed. It's actually working perfectly.

I would sacrifice ESR for Kevin.

Such an unnecessary offside from Raul. Why was he 5 yards behind everyone. Just laziness.

We're struggling to really create anything aside from that Wilson chance against 10 men.

I suppose if he'd colleced the ball a foot further back towards our goal he might not have found wilson? Unlikely, but possible, and so there must be a line drawn somewhere.

ESR has been one of our most dangerous players imo(maybe even the most dangerous player). I also don't feel like we've created any good openings apart from the offside goal we scored.

Cucurella did as a huge favour. They were very dangerous from corners and now Chelsea is pretty much neutralised.

The issue is we're moving up the pitch too slowly, giving them time to form a good defensive shape. When we recover the ball we have to go for the jugular rather than Berge take extra touches and then passing it back to a defender.

Id just go to 4 at the back and push ESR to the 8 with Kevin on for Diop

Were on top, as we should be . But we're also not getting enough shots in despite the domination of possession . If rather we just went for it tbh.

They should change the measurement point for offsides to the head of the player. Raul is in line with the defender, apart from his leg sticking out slightly. There is no advantage at all, it's just he's in movement while the defender is static. If they made it the head you'd get a fairer sense of where someone is on the pitch rather than some arbitrary limb sticking out.

Yeah me too. Although I'd maybe sub off Cuenca. As great as he was he's on a yellow. With how much Chelsea are cheating at the moment, it takes one moment of successful cheating and we're down to 10 as well. Diop has played well on the left side in the past.

Tbh

Him being offside allowed him to quickly ghost back in to play and pick up the pass as the Chelsea players had switched off assuming he was off.

as early as their red card you were calling for tc to be subbed. look for my post just above my "dig" where i said cairney is more or less a liablilty defensive wise thats why silva doesnt play him much, and will be subbed soon. he got 10 more mins than i thought he would.

i said this  and you replied to it?

hes never been the fastest at tracking back, he hardly ever gets back and when he does he hardly ever challenges. thats why marco rarely uses him. he is a liability defensively.   however he played a part in the move that led to the goal. but he will come off in the next few minutes

Yeah me too. Although I'd maybe sub off Cuenca. As great as he was he's on a yellow. With how much Chelsea are cheating at the moment, it takes one moment of successful cheating and we're down to 10 as well. Diop has played well on the left side in the past.

We've dropped too deep since the Reed sub. If he wanted to put on Reed it had to be for Berge

It's Adama's workrate that worries me, needs to be switched on and supporting Castagne and I don't always think he does that

So poor all game.  They look like they have lead in their boots. Dreadful effort.  Horrible game, referee useless, should have hed a blue shirt on first half.
