Title: Luc De Fougerolles
Post by: Ludlow Richard on July 30, 2025, 09:54:49 PM
See from the Club website that Luc De Fougerolles has joined Belgian Pro League side F.C.V. Dender on a season-long loan. Slightly surprising?

Look's like a good move for him

I think it's sensible; he needs regular first team football this season to get used to the week in week out grind at a more competitive level, and Belgium isn't a pushover league at all. Given he's only 19 it's a chance to do well this year and hopefully have a domestic loan next season, with a view to then seeing if he's ready for the first team when he'll still only be 21. For a CB he's got time on his side and needs to learn the difference between academy and first team football in a safer environment

Good loan, imo. Not a great league, but far from the worst one either. Would have preferred a Championship loan, as I think the level of physicality there is more similar to PL and the quality isn't hugely different apart from the very best teams in the league, but this is a decent option too.

Belgium is a decent league, and he is playing for a bottom half side that will likely be up against it most games. Should be good experience.
