I read somewhere that FFC hired a set piece coach called Ali Mellon over the summer.
Cannot say I have noticed a significant improvement, particularly defending set pieces.
Does anyone know anything about his background?
Melloul (not Mellon!)
He had been Fulham U18 coach for 6 years or so, with some success at the club.
I've actually noticed we've been more dangerous at set pieces but defending them seems to have dramatically worsened
I think he was only formally announced only quite recently. Rome wasn't built in a day.

My dad used to say 'It would of been if he'd been foreman'
Whoever we hired would be a improvement since the return to this league. Been shocking how poor we have been at set plays from an attacking perspective.
Remember last season Ashley Young even at his age put so many quality crosses in I would of signed him there and then if it was possible? If you look around the team especially now with Pereira gone who will take set Pieces? Lukic? Wilson if on pitch? Kevin? ESR? see Wilson? Fingers crossed Kevin has it in his locker.

We were outstanding at set pieces in our first season back in the PL? Mitro and Palhinha scored plenty of goals from them
