Missed the first game of the season and have arrived to find we are stocking the dreaded pukka pies.
I have long mocked teams who sell pukka pies. In my view no pie you can buy in the supermarket has a place in football grounds.
Is this a one off or is this it for the season?
Try using your Tesco club card and take plenty of sauce. ::smile::
Dunno, but I'm sat in the hospitality bit enjoying the free grub and beer ::beer:: ::beer::
PIE! PIE! you can afford a ticket AND eat,
Do they still have those vile rollover hotdogs? It's been a while since I've graced the Cottage with my presence.
Shame because last season's Chicken & Sage pies were actually quite decent (though stupidly expensive)
I have enjoyed our pies for as long as I can remember and it was always my ritual to have a pre game pie until now!
Also there is no significant decrease in price for the decrease in quality
What...no foie gras
I would take anything better than gristle surprise but I guess that is just my high standards
The club could've had a word with Putney Pies - kept it local & all that

Yeah our pies had been decent last few seasons, bought one today and it was a pukka one in plastic.
In Johnny Haynes. Disappointed.
A simple pork pie would make me very happy. Oh and a pint of Pride

Now you're talking :claping20hands:
I went around to the riverside after the game yesterday A beer and a burger and Anthony Robinson as a guest being interviewed loads of people around there though but good atmosphere
How much are they stinging us for a pie inside the ground these days?
Oh for a bag of warm Percy Daltons.
I 99.9% never buy drink or food in the ground . But some years back in the old riverside when al fahed was the bos I swear the food came in from Harrods the pasties and pies which I on had a couple of times so good . Agree pukka pies not that good.
We genuinely have one of the worst food and drink offerings going, sad really as we could make something really good of it

According to the sign over their shop they serve 'The Finest Pies In The Land' ! 🥮

Hate to break it to you, but you're not eating free grub if you're in hospitality.. you, or someone else is paying a premium for it. Don't let that get lost on you. The 'free' food and drink will be costed in.
I remember the days when you brought a rosette and a bag of monkey nuts just before you went through the turnstyle.
I'm begining to sound like my dad 😔
I've never understood how people can't get through a 1 hour 45 min footy match without having to eat

Depends on context, sometimes you have to make a long journey, and haven't had tine to eat before. Sometimes with evening matches coming straight from work.

I was having a beer behind the Riverside stand on boxing day 2008 after we played Spurs, area was pretty deserted. A staff member came down from hospitality area and offered my mate and I some pies for free. They were delicous and were the trigger for me deciding to get a season ticket for the following season
Ah, Pukka Pies aren't all bad! Sure there is better out there but they have their place.
Donjt forget the catering is done by a contract caterer so there will be a commercial decision in the pies they serve
They are in it for profit, they arent after a Star
