Preview:Newcastle United vs Fulham - prediction, team news, lineups
Two Premier League teams sitting in the bottom half of the table meet at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon as Newcastle United play host to Fulham.
While the Magpies are currently languishing in 14th spot in the top-flight standings with only nine points, the Cottagers sit one place and one point further back in 15th.
Match preview
After eight Premier League games, no team have kept more clean sheets this season than Newcastle (five, level with leaders Arsenal), while games involving the Magpies have seen fewer goals scored than any other side's this term (14 - seven for, seven against).
Eddie Howe can certainly take encouragement from his team's defensive stability thus far, but results remain the true measure of progress and Newcastle have struggled for consistency so far this season, posting two wins, three draws and three defeats across their opening eight league matches.
Both of Newcastle's two top-flight victories have taken place at home against teams currently sitting in the relegation zone - a 1-0 win over Wolves and a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest - with their success against the latter followed by a 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
However, Howe's men returned to winning ways on Wednesday night when they brushed aside Jose Mourinho's Benfica by a 3-0 scoreline at St James' Park in the Champions League, thanks to Anthony Gordon's first-half opener and Harvey Barnes's second-half brace.
Newcastle will now shift their focus back to domestic duties and they head into Saturday's contest aware that they were beaten 2-1 by Fulham in this exact fixture in February of last season; only once have they lost back-to-back home league matches against the Cottagers, doing so back in 1950-51.
Fulham were flying high in the middle of September and had put together a three-game winning run in all competitions, but that has since been followed by three successive Premier League defeats against Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Arsenal.
The Cottagers, who last lost more consecutive league games in March/April 2023 (four), fell to a slender 1-0 home defeat at the hands of the Gunners last weekend, registering just one shot on target, and head coach Marco Silva has urged his team to be more "ruthless, aggressive enough and take right decisions" if they wish to turn their fortunes around.
Only newly-promoted duo Burnley and Sunderland (21 each) have registered fewer shots on target than Fulham in the Premier League so far this season (23), while the Cottagers' average of 2.9 shots on target per game is their lowest ever in a top-flight campaign.
Conceding goals has also been a problem for Fulham, who have kept only one clean sheet in their last 17 Premier League matches (1-0 home win over Leeds United last month). They have also conceded at least one goal in each of their last 10 encounters with Saturday's opponent Newcastle.
However, after enduring an eight-game winless run against Newcastle in the Premier League between 2018 and 2024 (D2 L6), Fulham completed the league double over the Magpies last season, and they are now seeking to win three in a row for the first time since March 2017.

Team News
Newcastle are still having to cope without Tino Livramento and Yoane Wissa, who remain sidelined with knee injuries, while Lewis Hall is nursing a hamstring problem.
Sandro Tonali, who has extended his contract at the club until 2029, is "touch and go" with an unspecified issue, but Joelinton recovered from a knock to feature as a second-half substitute against Benfica and the Brazilian should be fit to return to the starting lineup this weekend.
While Fabian Schar could replace either Malick Thiaw or Sven Botman at centre-back, Barnes will hope that his midweek brace will be rewarded with a start in attack, but he faces competition from Anthony Elanga and Jacob Murphy for a start on the right flank.
Nick Woltemade is all but guaranteed to lead the line, though, and he has scored four goals in his five PL matches for Newcastle; the only players to reach five goals in six or fewer appearances for the Magpies are Loic Remy (five), Les Ferdinand and Papiss Cisse (both six).
As for Fulham, Joachim Andersen is ruled out with a hamstring injury sustained in the defeat to Arsenal and he is joined in the treatment room by Antonee Robinson (knee), Rodrigo Muniz (muscle) and Samuel Chukwueze (calf).
Harry Wilson (knock) has been absent from training this week and is a doubt (knock), but Sasa Lukic is back "in contention" after missing last weekend's game with a groin issue, while fellow midfielder Tom Cairney has shaken off a back problem sustained against the Gunners.
In the absence of Anderson, Calvin Bassey is the most likely candidate to play alongside Jorge Cuenca at centre-back, and Lukic could renew his partnership with Sander Berge in centre-midfield, while Alex Iwobi - just one appearance away from 300 in the Premier League - and either Kevin or Adama Traore are set to play on the flanks, providing support for Raul Jimenez up front.
Newcastle United possible starting lineup:
Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Barnes, Woltemade, Gordon
Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Castagne, Cuenca, Bassey, Sessegnon; Berge, Lukic; Traore, King, Iwobi; Jimenez
We say: Newcastle United 2-0 Fulham
Both teams have experienced inconsistent starts in the Premier League, so a thigh affair could be in store this weekend. However, when you take into consideration Newcastle's impressive defensive record and how Fulham have struggled in the final third, it is difficult not to back the hosts securing maximum points on this occasion.

Alan Shearer and Paul Merson agree over Newcastle United vs Fulham prediction as 'underperformed' claim made
Pundits have been predicting Fulham's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
Fulham head North for a Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Saturday in a game between two sides that have disappointed so far. Heading into this one, the Magpies are in 14th and the Cottagers are in 15th despite both teams being expected to finish firmly in the top half, with Newcastle having top four ambitions.
Neither team has lived up to their potential up to this point, and given the likely desperation from both to turn things around, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top at St James' Park. Ahead of the game, we have rounded up the predictions from SportsKeeda's Paul Merson and the Metro's Alan
Paul Merson
"I can't believe where Newcastle are in the league table. I thought they were going to be top six at this stage, but they are 14th instead! But even their next opponents Fulham have underperformed so far this season. I'm not sure underperformed is the right word though, because there were games where Fulham deserved more in my opinion, but at least in terms of results, it has not gone according to plan at all.
"When Newcastle play with energy, close teams down quickly and press high up the pitch, they are a great team. But as soon as the energy drops and they get tired, it's a huge struggle for them. I have a feeling they will move up the table soon though. Newcastle have a good team, the midfield is great and with Anthony Gordon and Nick Woltemade hitting form, they can soon go on a roll, winning three-four games on the spin! I'm not worried about them at all.
"Fulham did well against Arsenal. But that defeat was their third straight loss in the Premier League. Unfortunately for them, I expect that run to continue this weekend as well. Fulham have Wycombe coming up in the fourth round of the EFL Cup next week and I think they will have one eye on that game. Marco Silva's team should look to have a real go at enjoying a deep cup run. Prediction: Newcastle United 3-1 Fulham."
Alan Shearer
"I would hope Newcastle can get back to winning ways at home after what happened in midweek and with the options that Eddie Howe's got, as well as the belief. They need to go on a bit of a run in the league, and I would hope that starts this weekend – I'm going to be at the game on Saturday. Newcastle should have too much for Fulham.
"I don't think Fulham will finish 15th, they'll be around about mid-table – they've had a tough start, but let's hope that tough start continues at the weekend. Prediction – Newcastle win."

Latest. Howe previews Fulham test: 'The very best performance will be needed'
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe believes "the very best performance will be needed" if his side are to return to winning ways in the Premier League against Fulham on Saturday (kick-off 3pm BST).
The Magpies face the Cottagers on Tyneside looking to build on what Howe described as a "welcome performance and result" against Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday night, having been beaten at Brighton last weekend.
Ahead of the visit of Marco Silva's men, Howe met the media to discuss that win, the challenge in front of them this weekend and the contract situation of midfielder Sandro Tonali.
He also spoke about the form of frontman Nick Woltemade, Nick Pope's superb assist for Harvey Barnes' goal in midweek and
Here are some of the main talking points from the United head coach's pre-match media briefing:
On the 3-0 win over Benfica...
"It was a welcome performance and result. It was important for us and puts us in a good position in the Champions League, and it gives us a good feeling going into Saturday."
On team news ahead of Saturday...
"I think everyone came through the game OK.
"Sandro is still the player we are monitoring - he did train but wasn't feeling 100%. He will be touch and go."
On Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall's respective rehabilitations...
"Tino is back on the grass for the first time today, so happy for him.
"Lewis is the same, on the grass and doing well, so hopefully he is not too far away."
On Tonali's contract situation...
"A lot happened around the time he was banned... a lot of discussions were had.
"Sandro has felt the love with everyone connected with the football club. He felt that love and support and needed it at the time. He has been brilliant for us.
"Sandro is happy, he is enjoying his football. He is integral to the team."
On Fulham...
"The very best performance will be needed. We know the qualities of their team.
"These are difficult games for us, returning from a Champions League game. It is a mental challenge, and we must rise to that challenge."
On his side's mentality...
"It is all down to our attitude, our mentality. Our attitude must be the same for every game.
"Our attitude against Benfica was very good, our will to win was there. That needs to be every game."
On how often Pope's assist for Barnes against Benfica has been discussed this week...
"Maybe in Nick's house! Sure he has had the video out a few times.
"It was a great moment for Nick, for Harvey and the team. I'm sure it is one we look back on in time as it is not often you see a goalkeeper do that."
On captain Bruno Guimarães' durability...
"His biggest strength is his consistency. His attitude, he is a very positive person, and that positivity that he brings carries through all aspects of his life.
"He has that reliability, you can call on him consistently, that he can perform again and again. He's always there to deliver not just week on week, but month and then season after season, so full compliments to him."

Forget Andersen, Diop and Cuenca: Marco Silva names Bassey as Fulham's most agile and quickest CB
Manager Marco Silva has singled out Calvin Bassey as Fulham's most agile and quickest centre-back ahead of their Premier League trip to Newcastle United.
Bassey was a surprising omission from Fulham's starting lineup against Arsenal last weekend, following his return from international duty with the Super Eagles, although he came off the bench for the last eight minutes.
The Leicester City academy graduate was impressive last term, beating international teammate Alex Iwobi to Fulham's Player of the Season accolade, after finishing second in his maiden campaign.
Speaking during Thursday's pre-match press conference, Silva praised Bassey for his consistency, athleticism and strength, highlighting how the Super Eagles star offers qualities that set him apart from Joachim Andersen, Issa Diop and Jorge Cuenca.
"Calvin had an amazing season last season; his season was at a top, top level. He's a very good central defender — very strong and quick," Silva told reporters.
"He gives us, in some moments, different things than the others because he's the most agile one, he's the quickest one and very strong in the individual duels too."
Despite his glowing assessment of Bassey, Silva explained that the Nigerian defender started on the bench for the visit of Arsenal due to travel fatigue, having gone the distance in back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
"I knew that Cuenca is more than capable of doing the job, and that role is for him. Calvin was ten days out with the national team.
"Normally, when they play with Nigeria, it is very difficult for them. They just arrived 48 hours before the game, it's always difficult.
"About the Newcastle game, we have three central defenders. Joachim Andersen is going to be out. We have to decide the partnership to start."
With the exception of the Arsenal match, Bassey has played the full 90 minutes in every Premier League match for Fulham this season.

Sources: Fulham 'doing everything' to prevent Marco Silva from quitting
Fulham have endured a mixed start to the Premier League season so far after what proved to be a difficult transfer window in West London.
Marco Silva's side lost 1-0 to Arsenal last time out, and face a trip to St James' Park to face Newcastle next as their difficult run of fixtures continues.
The Cottagers have won two, drawn two and lost four of their eight games so far this season, leaving them 15th in the Premier League table at this stage.
However, concerns off the field have been more prevalent at Craven Cottage, with Silva's contract situation beginning to concern the club's hierarchy.
This comes after Silva was linked with the Nottingham Forest job, and Man United were interested in the Fulham boss, who has less than a year remaining on his contract.
Fulham doing everything to agree new Marco Silva contract
Football Insider revealed on 19 October that Silva has a hefty release clause in his Fulham contract, believed to be worth over £10million, to deter interest from rivals.
Meanwhile, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Fulham's efforts to keep Silva at Craven Cottage are expected to ramp up as they plan to offer him a new contract to extend his stay beyond the end of the season.
The Whites are prepared to do everything in their power to keep the Portuguese manager at the club despite the interest in his signature.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: "Obviously, Fulham are very keen to extend Silva's contract, they don't want to see him walk away in the summer.
"He will be a hard act to replace, he's really established them as a stable Premier League side.
"They've finished 10th, 13th and 11th, and got a club record points tally last season, so he's continually making improvement and progress at Craven Cottage.
"Fulham will be doing everything they can to extend the Portuguese's contract.
"Obviously, he was in the reconning for the Nottingham Forest job before they appointed Sean Dyche, and there's no lack of interest in him elsewhere as well."
Silva led Fulham to their record points tally in the Premier League last season, and the board are determined to keep him around and build on their progress so far.
Doubts emerge about whether Silva will extend with Fulham
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 October that Silva is "likely" to walk away from Fulham upon the expiry of his contract.
Fulham are fearing the worst over Silva's future and the possibility that he could be tempted away given the level of interest in his signature.
Their difficult start to the season has piled more pressure on the situation, with the boss more likely to leave if they continue to struggle in the league.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 4 September that Silva is not happy at Fulham and would be open to leaving after growing frustrated with the club.
A perceived lack of ambition in the transfer market and concerned about the club's direction has led to suggestions the boss could walk away sooner rather than later.

From the Press Box: Wilson a doubt as Fulham look to banish losing streak
Get the lowdown from Marco Silva's pre-Newcastle press conference.
The first of six Marco Silva pre- and post-match press conferences in the space of nine days took place at Motspur Park yesterday afternoon, with yet more bad news on the injury front.
Harry Wilson, labelled as a doubt for tomorrow's trip to the North East. Silva stated that the Welshman didn't train on Wednesday or Thursday, after picking up a knock on international duty.
Wilson still managed to play 82 minutes against Arsenal, but it'll be touch and go whether he will make the match-day squad at St. James Park.
Silva: "Some good news, some not so good. Kenny was already involved in the last game, he has a good week, will be in contention. Joa - will be out. Jedi, out. Lukic in contention. Chukwueze and Muniz out. Wilson is a doubt, let's see. Didn't train last two days."
We heard the word "doubt" ahead of last week's defeat to Arsenal concerning both Kenny Tete and Raul Jimenez. Raul started the game, while Tete was an un-used sub. So perhaps we may see Wilson at least included in the 20-man squad tomorrow. Silva also stated the injury to Wilson isn't too serious.
"He got a knock with the national team. A small issue, he made the effort to play versus Arsenal. Let's see if he's going to be ready or not. Yesterday - he was not in conditions (to train) - today, he didn't train. Let's see how he reacts tomorrow."
"Nothing really serious, but let's see how he feels tomorrow, then we will take a decision on him."
Fulham could do with Wilson travelling, with Samuel Chukwueze still out. Silva admitted that Rodrigo Muniz may even be ready to return before the Nigerian, who had impressed in his cameos in recent games.
Joachim Andersen's hamstring will keep him out of the game against Eddie Howe's side, but again, Silva told us it wasn't a serious injury.
Of course, Antonee Robinson is still out too. His recovery from surgery in the summer is taking longer than expected, with a couple of set-backs.
There was some good news, though. Sasa Lukic will most likely be in contention on Tyneside. Lukic missed the Arsenal game, and the majority of Bournemouth away after being subbed off early on. He is on four yellow cards, though. In a game where the midfield battle is going to be incredibly physical, it wouldn't surprise me if I'm tweeting: 56' Lukic is booked. #FFC - He would therefore miss the crucial home game against Wolves next weekend.
Silva was coy around the questioning of the possibility of playing Alex Iwobi in the middle of the park, as the number eight. It's a possibility that some Fulham fans had debated this week - which was ;argely based off the assumption that Lukic would still be out injured.
"The fans have the right to think what they want. The fans have the right to have their opinions.
"I'm the coach. I have to decide. But, they want Iwobi in the middle, to take Josh King or Emile out. Or they want to take Sander out for Alex Iwobi. I don't know where it comes from. I'm here, not to answer for that question."
Later on, he was asked about the midfield battle:
"We need to reach the same level of intensity (as them) to play in the way we want to play. To control them, to create - whether it's going to be Sander, Lukic, Harrison, TC, or Josh or Emile. Or, like you said before, with Alex."
There was plenty more quotes to come from 22:30 this evening, a whopping 30 tweets. Or you can read them all in full on my Patreon later tonight.
Three defeats in a row, going up against a side who had convincingly beaten Jose Mourinho's Benfica on Tuesday night in the Champions League.
Sandro Tonali is a doubt due to illness, but Newcastle have other exceptional options in midfield. Joelinton, Jacob Ramsey, Bruno Guimarães and Joe Willock to name a few yikes. Lewis Miley too, who scored against us two seasons ago.
I wonder if Kenny Tete will get the nod ahead of the reliable Timothy Castagne. Last season, Castagne got the runaround from Anthony Gordon. However, he came out strong in the second half, as Fulham turned the game on it's head in February. One of my favourite memories from last season.
A Fulham win tomorrow would be a huge, huge boost for Fulham, who are yet to win away from home. It's a three-game week, and an opportunity to advance into a Carabao Cup quarter-finals. But, the league is the focus this weekend. A repeat of last season will go down a treat and delight Silva, and the sold out away end in the Gods of St. James' Park.
Time to catch my flight to Newcastle, I've never flown to an away game before (apart from pre-season), so another new experience for me in the best job in the world. See you all up there - come on you Whites!

How Fulham BEAT Newcastle: Newcastle Preview
Newcastle away. A journey up the M1 awaits — Fulham are back on the road. With the threat of a fourth consecutive defeat and fifth consecutive away loss weighing heavy, even a point would be a big result for Marco's depleted selection of men.
I'll give you the lowdown on how Eddie Howe's side will play, where Newcastle can be exploited, and how team news will affect how Fulham will lineup on Tyne-side. Let's get stuck in.
How Do Newcastle Play?
Out of possession, Eddie Howe's side abide by a few key principles.
They sit narrow, looking to pin teams into wide areas — allowing the Magpies to deploy an aggressive press in said wide zones they've have forced their opposition into, creating a ball side overload to win back possession.
Newcastle's ball side overload press
But don't get it twisted — the Tyne-siders aren't one dimensional in how they play outside of possession. After a poor start to 24/25, Eddie Howe added adaptability as a core part of his tactual makeup. The Toon couple spells of a high intensity press with an ability to sit deep and soak up pressure.
NUFC will often drop into a 5–4–1 outside of possession, as opposed to their usual 4–3–3 when defending a lead. This limits space centrally, allowing Newcastle to, once again, funnel opposing sides wide.
NUFC moving into a 5–4–1.
In possession, Howe's back four becomes a three.
Kieran Trippier pushes high and wide to be the primary crossing outlet, while Bruno Guimaraes remains conservative in comparison to, Joelinton and, do it all midfielder — the man who Eddie Howe has built this Newcastle team around — Sandro Tonali.
The Italian covers every blade of grass in both boxes, and in transition, with Tonali carrying the mantle of the Magpies' primary ball carrier.
Howe's back four becomes a three in possession, Kieran Trippier becomes primary wide outlet, Sandro Tonali alternates from a deep lying midfielder to an all action midfielder.
Wingers sit inside of their opposing full-backs while an athletic midfielders, one of Sandro Tonali or Joelinton, fills the wide role left in the absence of the winger creeping inside.
The inside forward, 'mezzala-like' combo in wide areas helps Newcastle create a 3v2 overload against opposing centre-halves.
Wingers tuck inside, shuttling CMs take up the vacated wide space.
Nick Woltemade — a man who I earmarked to possibly replace Rodrigo Muniz this summer — has proved why he was above Fulham's station last summer. Woltemade has notched up four in five Premier League games, but I'd argue the German's goal record isn't what impresses me most...
The 23 year old has a terrific touch for somebody of his 6'6 stature, the German's deft touch allows Newcastle to use Woltemade to link up play, be the go between of two on-rushing wingers, with a view of crashing the box, utilising his superb aerial ability.
Woltemade links the play — acts as the go-between for on-rushing wingers — then crashes the box.
How Should Fulham Exploit Newcastle?
Now we've got an understanding of how Newcastle play, our attention turns to how Marco Silva can expose deficiencies in the Magpies' setup.
When Fulham faced the Toon last February, we turned this fixture on it's head. Silva's side came out the transitional blocks after half time. London's Original exploited Newcastle's tendency to commit bodies when overloading the ball side, by playing vertical balls off Raul Jimenez, or into Adama Traore — attacking at speed, in transition — to expose areas where Newcastle pushed players away from to go and press the ball.
Rotherham away hero, Dan Burn, will start at left back. Despite Burn's success for club and country at left back, there are obvious holes in the 33 year old's game.
If you can get Ryan Sessegnon on the shoulder of Burn — especially in transition when Newcastle in a three — playing it simple, getting balls into the channel may prove an element of joy for Marco's men.
On the opposite flank, Kieran Trippier's role as a high flying wing back certainly presents frailties when you factor in 35 years of age and obvious lack of pace. With Kevin all but assured to start, directly attacking Trippier could see the Toon tied up in all sorts of samba saucery.
Does Trippier posses the recovery space to get back from whipping in a ball from the byline to catching up with Kevin Macedo Santos Lopes? No chance.
Isolate burn and Tripper with the help of your wingers alongside technically, yet athletically gifted midfielders in Josh King and Alex Iwobi — make wide play your focus.
Fulham utilising gifted shuttling midfielders, alongside direct wingers, to isolate Burn and Trippier.
Team News:
Newcastle:
Sandro Tonali looks set to recovery from an illness that saw him sit out NUFC's Champions League win over Benfica during the week, while starting wing backs, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento absence will be very much felt from an athletic perspective on either flank.
Fulham:
Fulham could be without as many as six senior players at St James' Park — the Whites worst injury crisis since promotion back to the top flight.
Marco Silva confirmed Rodrigo Muniz is out, while the absences of Harry Wilson, and Samuel Chukwueze leave Kevin likely to get his long-awaited first league start.
Sasa Lukic has been on the Motspur Park turf for the last few days, leaving the Serb in contention to start (thank God). Tom Cairney will undergo a late fitness test, likely leaving TC on the bench come Saturday 3pm.
Kenny Tete is back after a positive week of training, while Joachim Andersen won't see the pitch this Saturday, however, Andersen's injury is, ''not that serious'', according to Marco Silva. Antonee Robinson is, yet again, unavailable.
How Should Fulham Lineup?
Calvin Bassey returns to the team — this time at left back — with Fulham's lack of wide options, Ryan Sessegnon is pushed out to the right wing, while Jorge Cuenca's stellar form see the Spaniard as undroppable. Kenny Tete comes back in to replace Timothy Castagne, and Issa Diop replaces Joachim Andersen to round out the back four.
Addressing Jack Kelly's question on Alex Iwobi playing centrally, Silva said: ''The fans have the right to think what they want. I don't know where it comes from.''
To me, this seems an obvious bluff. Marco has deployed Iwobi centrally countless times — recently off the bench against Arsenal, while Iwobi continually plays in a central role for Nigeria, and did many times for Everton. My guess is, Marco's bluffing, I think Iwobi will play down the middle alongside Josh King and Sander Berge in a midfield three.
Sasa Lukic shoudln't be rushed back — preserve his fitness.
Knocks to Samuel Chukwueze and Harry Wilson leave Fulham with little room for change out wide. After an impressive Arsenal cameo, if Kevin dosen't start at St James' Park, when will he ever start? His pace and flair could certainly be of use against an ageing Kieran Trippier.
Ryan Sessegnon sees himself return to the right wing — a role he thrived in, throughout the latter stages of last season. Adama Traore is an option on the right side, but Sess' finishing and movement could freak havoc against Dan Burn. It certainly outweighs the varying levels of effort Adama Traore has provided in recent weeks. Could we see more Sessegnon heroics at St James'?
Raul Jimenez is provided no real contention up top. Jonah Kusi Asare may as well be in Bavaria, and with Muniz out, a focal point will be key in this fixture. Raul scored his last season, can he do it again?

How Fulham should lineup come Saturday 2:15
That's all from me, ladies and gents. Can I say I'm confident? Far from it. But Newcastle played midweek; Fulham didn't. Combine an added 90 to the Magpies' legs alongside their athletic frailties at fullback, is taking a point from the North East out of the question? I don't think so.
Fulham need a spark — something they haven't had in recent weeks — to claim our first set of away points since August. Enter Kevin?

Super Eagles midfielder Iwobi to receive award from Premier League after Newcastle v Fulham
Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi is set to receive a Premier League Milestone Award, provided he features in Fulham's clash with Newcastle United on Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The game against the Magpies will mark Iwobi's 300th appearance in the English top-flight, a remarkable feat since his debut against Swansea City in October 2015.
The Premier League presents awards to players upon reaching 100, 200, 300 appearances and every century thereafter.
Iwobi holds the distinction of being Nigeria's record appearance-maker in the Premier League, surpassing the mark he previously shared with Shola Ameobi last weekend when he was named in Fulham's starting XI against Arsenal.
A product of Arsenal's Hale End Academy, Iwobi played 100 league games for the Gunners before leaving the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2019.
At Everton, the Hale End Academy graduate featured in 123 league matches before joining Fulham, where he has made 76 appearances to date.
Across his 299 Premier League outings, Iwobi has contributed 69 goal involvements, comprsiing 32 goals and 37 assists.
Having started every Fulham top-flight game this season, the midfielder is set to be formally recognised with the Milestone Award after Saturday's clash with Newcastle.

Fulham: Marco Silva sends record signing message after slow start
Forward was the Cottagers' biggest outlay of the summer
Marco Silva has stated that club-record signing Kevin must work on improving the defensive side of his game before he can be entrusted to start in the Premier League.
It has not quite been the perfect start to life in England that Kevin envisaged.
Flashes of brilliance have been caveated by a failure to nail down a starting berth, and Silva says there is work for the young winger to do if he is to realise his potential.
"He has to understand what we need from him," Silva admitted, speaking ahead of Fulham's trip to Newcastle on Saturday.
"Best position to receive, best position to attack, when he needs to be in, when he needs to be out, many things that we need to work with him. Like we have to work with [Alex] Iwobi or with all the other wingers.
"It's not new, it's not something just in particular with him. The best thing is that he has the talent. The best thing is that we know that he can offer us different things as well."
A bright cameo off the bench against Leeds had Fulham fans thinking they had the spark to ignite their capable but functional side.
The 22-year-old's development, though, will not be nearly as explosive as his play style, according to Silva, who admits Kevin needs to get to grips with the transitional nature of the Premier League.
"He needs time, he needs time to understand the way we want him to play, time to be able to play both parts of the game, on the ball and off the ball, to be ready for the aggressiveness in a good way.
"Both transitions in this level is going to demand from him offensive and defensive transition, but he's improving, he's trying his best and we are helping him. (we have had) some individual meetings with him, for him to understand (what we want from him)."
Fulham broke their transfer record on Deadline Day to bring Kevin to the club. He is not a player for the future, but a player who can provide an immediate impact to the team.
Silva and his coaches are working hard with Kevin to help him adapt to the relentless pace of the Premier League, but they expect him to be ready to compete consistently for minutes in the coming weeks.
"When we signed him, we thought that he was going to be a very good solution for us. We didn't sign him to play 15 or 20 minutes; we signed him to be a very important player for us. Let's hope in the future he can be that player.
"[The expectation is] that he can start the games, and to be consistent throughout 90, 95 minutes or 60, 70 minutes, instead of just 15 or 20. He needs time to adapt. When you play away from home, [you need] clear time to adapt."
Kevin moved to Shakhtar Donetsk, a well-trodden landing spot for young Brazilian talent, in 2024 before making the move to Fulham this summer.
It has been a rapid ascent for the Sao Paulo-born attacker, but while his talent knows no bounds, he is still trying to get used to having less time on the ball and more responsibility out of possession.
A difficult 23-minute cameo off the bench against Bournemouth highlighted the importance of Kevin adapting to Fulham's system, as Silva's side were torn apart in transition, conceding three late goals at the Vitality Stadium.
"Now, it's just a matter of working with him, and it's a matter of him to show every single day that he's ready to start.
"Versus Bournemouth, when he came in, he had some difficulties to be in the level that he should be because it was a transition game. Versus Newcastle, it's going to be the same profile of game."
Kevin has yet to start for Fulham in the Premier League, but Silva has asked for patience. He knows the transformative impact the winger can have on his side's attack, given time.
"He is a player that is completely different in one vs one situations," Silva said.
"He is very aggressive the way he attacks the opposition side as well, and in the attack, he is very aggressive, the way he takes players on.
"We all know the talent that he has. We all know why you spend the money on him."

MATCH REPORT: Fulham U21 4-4 Derby County U21
Derby County Under-21s shared the points after a spirited fightback saw the Young Rams draw 4-4 with Fulham Under-21s in Premier League 2 at Motspur Park on Friday evening.
Fulham raced into an early lead, scoring three times inside the opening 10 minutes through Tom Olyott and a brace from Seth Ridgeon.
Cameron Wilson pulled one back for Derby in the 32nd minute, but Jayden Quashie restored the hosts' three-goal lead before half-time.
Danny Maye's Young Rams fought back in the second half to get three goals, via Johnson Osong, Lennon Wheeldon and Jamie Wähling - with a penalty deep into stoppage time - to secure a Premier League 2 point on the road.
Key Moments
Fulham took the lead after just four minutes when Olyott converted with a left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area, before Seth Ridgeon doubled the advantage two minutes later.
Ridgeon struck again as he arrowed a low ball in from the edge of the box in the tenth minute to make it 3-0 to the hosts.
Derby pulled a goal back shortly after the half-hour mark when Cameron Wilson found the net on the break after Cruz Allen squared the ball to him at the far post, and he slotted home calmly to give the Rams a lifeline.
But Fulham restored their three-goal cushion before the break, through Quashie after an error at the back, to lead 4-1 at half-time.
The Rams began the second half brightly and reduced the deficit in the 55th minute when Osong took the ball down and controlled it well to make a shooting chance inside the penalty area, and he finished firmly into the bottom left corner.
Wheeldon made it 4-3 with ten minutes remaining when he pounced on the goalkeeper's save after Justin Oguntolu's shot was sent in the direction of the striker. He fired home to set up a tense finish.
Deep into stoppage time, Derby were awarded a penalty, and Wähling kept his composure from the spot to complete the comeback and secure a share of the points.
Team News
Derby County Under-21s: Kane (GK), Turley, Gough (Hawkins 65), Tola (Wähling 65), Canoville, Osayande, Wilson, Allen, Oguntolu, Eames, Osong (Wheeldon 65).
Unused Substitutes: Dzialuk (GK), Smith.
Post-Match Reaction
"It was a good performance tonight despite the poor start,"Senior Professional Development Coach Danny Maye said after the game. "That being said, the character we showed to get back in the game was excellent.
"We looked nervous building from the back in the first 15 mins. All their goals came from our errors. At times, we just needed to play a couple behind and give ourselves some breathing space.
"Once we settled, we looked more in control without carrying enough of a threat. Then in the second half, we were excellent and took charge of the game. Most of the second half was played in their half.
"We pressed well at the right times and didn't give them much time to build momentum. We created a lot of chances and carried more of a threat in the box. The tighter distances also allowed us to counter-press and keep the pressure on. The rest defence was much better, and we killed their transition a little, too.
It was a pleasing comeback tonight, and the boys should be proud."

Forget Elanga & Barnes: Howe must now unleash Newcastle's "unsung hero"
Newcastle United arguably put in their besst performance of the season as they beat Benfica 3-0 to make it back-to-back wins in the Champions League.
Though the Magpies have struggled to get going this season, especially from an offensive standpoint, their success on the continent is evidence of Eddie Howe's abiding tactical quality, with the cogs sure to start whirring as the new batch of players work toward a continuation of last year's illustrious success.
That starts now, in the Premier League. Last weekend, United lost on a trip to Brighton, and they languish in 14th place, just nine points from eight games.
But a closer look at the new phase Howe is championing demonstrates exactly why he is valued as "one of the top managers in the country, if not the world" by pundit Jamie Redknapp.
He adapts, and the tactician must showcase that nous yet again on Sunday, when Fulham are welcomed to St. James' Park. However, that frontline does need some work, even with Nick Woltemade firing on all cylinders.
Newcastle team news
Howe said that Newcastle must produce their best possible performance if they wish to turn over a gritty and well-balanced Fulham side in the Premier League.
The Cottagers claimed three points at St. James' Park last season, but they have lost three on the bounce in the Premier League and are there for the taking, with Joachim Andersen and Antonee Robinson both sidelined.
A promising update on the injury recoveries of Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall: both full-backs are nearing the end of their rehabilitation and are back on the grass. Anticipate further developments in the coming weeks.
While Howe reported no new injury concerns, he did confirm Sandro Tonali "will be touch and go" after struggling with illness this week.
Meanwhile, summer signing Yoane Wissa's wait for his debut rages on, still in recovery from the knee injury suffered on international duty. The 29-year-old's rehabilitation will stretch toward the Christmas period.
More praise was heaped on Woltemade. The German striker continues to deputise as Wissa's recovery continues, and given the richness of the purple patch he is riding, few will have concerns about his presence at number nine (other than the Fulham defence, that is).
However, while the striker is firing, Howe will hope to see more from his wide forwards. In fairness, Harvey Barnes bagged a brace in midweek, with Anthony Gordon claiming the Man of the Match award in the Champions League.
But Anthony Elanga continues to leave much to be desired down the right, and it's for this reason that Newcastle's most underrated star could be the difference-maker on Saturday afternoon.
Howe must unleash Newcastle's "unsung hero"
Has there been a more compelling success story at Newcastle over the past few years than that of Jacob Murphy? The 29-year-old was written off after years as a journeyman, but has pieced together an iconic career on Tyneside.
Last season, in particular, Murphy was in fine fettle, stepping up after Newcastle failed to sign a right-sided forward and posting nine goals and 14 assists across all competitions.
Some return, that. Howe hailed his protege as "the ultimate professional", and his is a story that up-and-coming hopefuls will use as fuel for many years to come. It's never too late to turn things around.
The veteran has only featured as a substitute across Newcastle's past two Premier League matches, and his stability and industriousness could be perfect against Marco Silva's organised outfit.
That is not to say he's without his flair and creativity on the ball. As per FBref, Murphy ranks among the top 1% of attacking midfielders and wingers across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for assists per 90.
He might not have Elanga's pace or Barnes' natural eye for goal, but with Gordon clicking into gear and Woltemade undroppable at the front of the ship, this could be the line-up to develop and sustain synergy and fluency across the full 90.
You will need no reminder that the Magpies have only won two of their eight Premier League fixtures so far this season.
It stands as a testament to Murphy's resilience and unwavering belief in his abilities that he has established himself as one of the key components of Newcastle's journey since the PIF takeover and subsequent appointment of Howe.
He might not be the most prolific player in the mix, but Murphy is unquestionably among England's most underrated players in modern times, hailed as an "unsung hero" by journalist Scott Wilson for his knack at coming up trumps for the Toon.
And anyway, with three goals and four assists across 13 matches against Fulham, Howe would be restoring the experienced winger to the starting line-up against the side he has chalked up more direct contributions than any other across his career.
While Elanga will be desperate to impress after going without a goal or an assist across his first 12 appearances in black and white, Howe will know the importance of using the midweek Champions League victory as a springboard.
Newcastle simply have to return to winning ways in the Premier League, and with Murphy on the right, fuelling in-form pair Gordon and Woltemade, it might just be the perfect blend.

PGMOL make Newcastle United v Fulham U-turn just 24 hours before Premier League clash
The PGMOL has changed the referee for Newcastle United v Fulham in the Premier League.
Newcastle United head into Saturday's clash at home to Fulham eyeing just their third win of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
The Magpies have won consecutive games in the Champions League and head into the Fulham match on the back of beating Benfica 3-0 at St James' Park on Tuesday night.
Eddie Howe's side have been free-scoring in Europe, having also won 4-0 away to Union Saint-Gilloise in Brussels last month. But their form in the Premier League has been the opposite.
Newcastle sit 14th in the table, with their only two wins coming at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, both of whom currently lie in the relegation zone.
And they are the only two clubs to score fewer than United this season, with four of their seven goals in the league scored by £69million club-record signing Nick Woltemade.
Again, comparing that to the Champions League, Woltemade has scored once, with Anthony Gordon the top scorer with four goals and Harvey Barnes second with three goals.
Eddie Howe 'scratching his head' over Newcastle United's form
The difference between performances in the Premier League and Champions League has left Howe scratching his head.
Howe said: "Yeah, that's a head-scratcher for me as well, because we know their qualities, we know they're goal-scorers, we know how good of players they are, and that goes for another few players in our squad as well.
"Everyone's pointed to the fact that we haven't been scoring enough in the Premier League. When you see us play like we did tonight, and how we attacked, and the amount of chances we created, that's a difficult one for us to work out
"But all we can do is return to the Premier League and return with the same attitude, and I think the attitudes there, the quality will shift."
PGMOL change Newcastle United v Fulham referee
In what Newcastle will be hoping is a good omen, Peter Bankes will referee the match versus Fulham. Bankes recently took charge of the Magpies' 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, in which he awarded a penalty that Woltemade scored.
Bankes will be assisted by Eddie Smart and Steve Meredith, and Lewis Smith will act as the fourth official. On VAR duty is John Brooks, supported by Scott Ledger.
Hartlepool-born Tony Harrington had initially been assigned the game but has swapped with Bankes to referee Wolverhampton Wanderers against Burnley on Sunday.
Harrington was fourth official for the Europa Conference League game between Croatian side HNK Rijeka and Sparta Prague on Thursday, which had to be abandoned at half-time as torrential rain left the pitch unplayable.
The game resumed on Friday afternoon as Rijeka clinched a 1-0 victory. Given the quick turnaround, Harrington's Premier League duties this weekend have been pushed back 24 hours.

Eddie Howe previews Newcastle United v Fulham
Looking ahead to the Fulham game, Howe said: "You go back to last year, [we had[ two disappointing results against Fulham. We know the qualities of their team, Marco has done a brilliant job there.
"These are difficult games for us. The high emotion of the Champions League games and the energy those games bring you is a totally different feel to back to the afternoon kick-off in the Premier League.
"It's a big mental challenge for us and we have to rise to that and grow from the experiences that we've had previously. This will be a tough game."

St James' Park now awaits – Newcastle v Fulham preview
Welcome to the Newcastle v Fulham preview.
Saturday 25th October – A 3pm kick-off.
Newcastle host Fulham this weekend, looking to secure their third Premier League win of the season.
The Toon will be buoyed by another tremendous European triumph midweek, whilst Fulham will be hoping to utilise the extra few days rest to leapfrog United in the league table by bagging their second successive win at St James' Park and their third consecutive win over NUFC.
With the two clubs struggling for league form, this is a crucial match that both teams will be desperate to take three points from.
Form
In the past six league matches, Newcastle have won two, lost two and drawn two. which is a reflection of the lack of consistency that has cost us dear so far this season. Wins have come at home against Wolves and Nottingham Forest, whilst we've endured boring scoreless draws on the road against Leeds and Bournemouth. Frustrating late defeats against Arsenal and Brighton left Toon fans scratching their heads, as on both occasions Woltemade looked to have secured at least a point before we were hit with the sucker punch. We've scored five goals in these matches and conceded four. The eight points gained has us sitting in fourteenth place with a win potentially seeing us sneak into the top half on goal difference. depending on results elsewhere.
Fulham have won two and lost four of their last six matches but three of those defeats have come in their last three matches. They've beaten Brentford and Leeds but lost to Arsenal, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Chelsea. They've scored five goals in these matches but conceded ten and the six points gained has them in fifteenth place, just a point behind United with ambitions of finishing the weekend in twelfth depending on other results.
Last time out
The Toon hosted Portuguese giants Benfica on Tuesday night and blew their opponents away with an attacking display that sent St James' Park into raptures. Newcastle were already knocking on the door before an incisive pass from Bruno saw Jacob Murphy get the ball into the danger zone and whip it across goal for Gordon to finish off a flowing move and put United a goal to the good at half-time. Things were to get even better in the second half with relentless pressure from NUFC leading to two more goals. Firstly, Nick Pope launched an unbelievable sixty-five yard throw into the path of Harvey Barnes to double our advantage and then a Woltemade flick set Gordon on his way to tee up Barnes for his second and United's third. Further chances were to come and go with Joelinton and Dan Burn forcing incredible saves as we threatened to run riot, on what was a superb occasion for the black and whites.
Fulham welcomed Arsenal to Craven Cottage last weekend and felt themselves unlucky not to take an early lead after a bright start. They were made to rue missed chances when a second-half goal for the gunners condemned them to a 1-0 defeat.
Stat attack!
The last ten matches between the two sides at St James' have seen five NUFC wins, three draws and two defeats.
Newcastle have hosted Fulham on seventeen Premier League occasions, winning eight of them.
The Toon have found the net in eight of the last nine home matches with Fulham in all competitions.
Memorable match
At the start of the 2013/14 season, Alan Pardew's side were in disarray. Wantaway talisman Yohan Cabaye was dropped against both Man City and West Ham and Newcastle responded with lacklustre performances in a 4-0 defeat and a 0-0 draw. The third game of the season saw the Toon welcome Fulham to St James' Park. A poor first half saw NUFC pressing without being able to create any clear-cut chances and having to be content with a half-time score of 0-0. The second half was set to continue in a similar vein until Cabaye was brought on to a mixed reception from fans. The Toon immediately looked brighter and went on the offensive, seeing a headed effort from Papiss Cisse beat the 'keeper but smash back off the crossbar. Despite the added urgency, Newcastle's barren run looked set to continue as the game remained goalless with just four minutes remaining. At this point, Ben Arfa broke into the area at the Gallowgate End, beat his man and unleashed a rocket into the top corner to send St James' Park into absolute ecstasy. This was a goal worthy of winning any game and prompted prolonged celebrations both on the pitch and in the stands. With no further scoring, it proved to be the toast of the Toon. Newcastle 1-0 Fulham
Played for both
Philippe Albert is an absolute legend for those of us lucky enough to grow up in the mid-nineties. Signed by Kevin Keegan after a number of impressive performances at the 1994 World Cup, Albert soon proved that there was so much more than just defending to his game. Never afraid to bomb forward, he was often found at the other end of the pitch to good effect, scoring a number of important goals. Although he's best remembered for his sublime chip to end the scoring in a famous 5-0 victory over Man United, a personal favourite memory of mine is when he galloped forward to volley home an equally special effort in a 3-3 draw against Man City the previous season.
Keegan was so impressed by Albert at Newcastle that he signed him again for Fulham in 1998 and was rewarded with two goals as the cottagers gained promotion from division two.
Louis Saha played on loan at Newcastle under Ruud Gullit in 1999 but managed only a handful of games. His only league strike came in a 4-1 home win against Coventry. He also netted a cracker away at Blackburn in the fifth round of the FA Cup. His winning goal set up a quarter-final tie with Everton as the Toon marched on to the Wembley final.
He signed for Fulham in 2000 and scored over fifty league goals for the club, he was top scorer in the promotion campaign of 00/01 and was named in the PFA team of the year. He spent four years at Craven Cottage before moving on to Man United.
Danny Guthrie signed for the Toon in 2008 and spent four years on Tyneside, enduring the low of relegation in 2009 to the high of a top five Premier League finish in 2012. He was an integral part of our promotion in 2010, netting five goals and providing thirteen assists as we won the championship.
He played for Fulham on loan in 2015 but failed to find the net in six league appearances.
Managers
Eddie Howe after a 3-0 Champions League win over Benfica:
"I'm really pleased because Benfica are a good team. We had to show our qualities today. I thought we were patient initially, because we had chances and didn't score early, but we kept at it. I think once we scored the second goal, you sort of saw the real us, what we can be. I thought we were excellent from that point onwards. We're strong, but that's on paper. We have to prove it on the field. The team won a trophy last year, we have to work hard and demonstrate the full potential I believe the squad possesses. We're full of good players, we haven't quite clicked yet, but I believe this is the beginning of what we want to achieve. It wasn't an easy game. Benfica have huge European experience, with a manager who has done it all. Especially after losing against Brighton on Saturday, the pressure was on us."
Marco Silva after a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal:
"When you lose a game, it is always a disappointing one. They were at a very good level. We did create chances to score before Arsenal. They were more on that than on ourselves. We knew it was not going to be easy, a tough team to play against but I think we kept them away from big chances in the game. After the goal, we did react and started to play more in our way again."
Charity
Newcastle United fans food bank will once again be collecting opposite the Gallowgate end and gratefully receiving food, money and toiletries for those in need. Of particular interest are non-perishable food and drink items (such as noodles, pasta, rice, canned food, soup, cereal, cordial, long life milk etc) as well as toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and sanitary products. Please give whatever you can, any donation is very much appreciated.
For further info and/or to donate online go HERE.
Prediction
Make no mistake about it, this is a massive match for NUFC. If we can build on Tuesday night and attack our opponents from the get-go, then I'm confident we'll have more than enough to defeat an out-of-form Fulham. Our midfield was on fire against Benfica and more of the same will ensure a night of celebration for the Toon. Newcastle 2-0 Fulham

Newcastle United issue Nick Woltemade fitness update ahead of Premier League clash v Fulham
Newcastle United issue Nick Woltemade fitness update ahead of Premier League clash v Fulham
Eddie Howe believes Nick Woltemade is starting to feel 'at home' following his positive start to life at Newcastle United.
The 23-year-old joined Newcastle from Stuttgart in the summer to much scrutiny from the German media due to the significant £65million, rising to £69million, transfer fee. The move also game after intense transfer interest from Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich.
But Woltemade has hit the ground running at Newcastle with five goals in seven starts for his new club.
And after initial doubts, the striker would be able to play through Newcastle's busy fixture schedule while Yoane Wissa was out injured, Woltemade has adapted quickly to the physical demands required of him.
The Gazette has launched a new WhatsApp NUFC channel to bring the latest news, analysis and team & injury updates directly to your phone. Simply click this link to join our NUFC WhatsApp channel.
Nick Woltemade silences doubters
The German international was substituted shortly after half-time in his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month before dropping to the bench against Barcelona and again in the Carabao Cup against Bradford City.
But since then, Woltemade has started each of Newcastle's last five games in all competitions, scoring four goals.
"Physically, a vast improvement I think, yeah," Howe admitted. "That first game against Wolves, I think you have to understand the first game there's a lot of emotions in there as well. But I think that was his best physical performance against Benfica.
"I thought his pressing from the front, his attitude to press, his durability, his robustness, yeah, excellent. The challenge for him in this moment is he's got to do that every three, four days and that's not easy physically and mentally.
"So a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, but he's carrying that really well."
Newcastle United return to Premier League action v Fulham
Newcastle host Fulham in the Premier League at St James' Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off). Not only has Woltemade scored in each of his last three Premier League matches, he's also found the net in every league game he's played at St James' Park to date.
Fulham head into the game on the back of three successive defeats while Newcastle will be looking to bounce back from last weekend's loss at Brighton & Hove Albion while also building on the encouraging 3-0 win at home to Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
When asked whether Woltemade was ready to start for the third time in a week, Howe said: "Yeah, we'll see [Friday]. We've got a full training day today, so we'll see a lot of the players that haven't trained since the game.
"I see a player and a person coming into the training ground who feels more at home in his environment now. I think a lot more relaxed, you're seeing his natural personality come out and it's all positive. So, yeah, very pleased with him."
On Woltemade's impact linking play up while also spearheading Newcastle's attack, Howe added: "I think Nick's settled in well in that respect, especially because the lads trust him with the ball.
"They want to give him the ball in every moment. I think it's a testament to Nick's attitude and bravery that he's come to a new league and he's expressing himself in his way straight away. And long may that continue."

Newcastle United v Fulham early team news: Double injury doubt as seven players ruled out
Newcastle United and Fulham injury news as the two clubs go head-to-head in the Premier League at St James' Park.
Fulham will be without several first-team players for today's Premier League clash against Newcastle United (kick-off 3pm).
Marco Silva's side will be without Antonee Robinson, Samuel Chukwueze, Rodrigo Muniz and Joachim Anderson, while Harry Wilson is a doubt after missing training earlier in the week.
The Cottagers sit 15th in the league, one position and one point below Newcastle, who are looking to build on the 2-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Marco Silva issues Fulham injury update ahead of Newcastle United game
Providing an injury update at his pre-match press conference, Fulham boss Silva said: "Some good news, or fresh news. Others is not so good, unfortunately for us.
"Starting from the back, Kenny was already involved in the last game – not 100 per cent, but he was already on the bench. He has had a good week so far and he is going to be in contention for the game.
"Joachim Andersen, as we expected and as I mentioned after the match, has a muscle injury. It's not so serious, but he is going to be out and not available for the Newcastle match, Antonee Robinson neither, as well. Chukwueze still out, Rodrigo out.
"About Harry Wilson, he got a knock with the national team, a small issue. He made the squad to play against Arsenal, but let's see if he's going to be ready or not.
"Yesterday he was not in the condition, today he didn't train as well. Let's see tomorrow how he reacts. Nothing really serious, but let's see how he is going to be tomorrow, and after I will take a decision."
Eddie Howe gives Newcastle United injury latest ahead of Fulham match
Newcastle, meanwhile, remain without Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall and Yoane Wissa. Sandro Tonali is "touch and go" to play versus Fulham having struggled with illness this week.
If not against Fulham, then Tonali should be involved for the Carabao Cup tie versus Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday. Elsewhere, it is hoped both Hall and Wissa can return before the November international break.
"Tino's on the grass for the first time today [Friday] and he's making really good progress, so very happy with him," Howe said.
"Lewis is the same, Lewis is doing really well. He's been on the grass for a while, pushing himself. He's done back-to-back sessions. He'll be, hopefully, not too far away now."
On Wissa, Howe warned his £55million new signing would need weeks to get up to speed. The 29-year-old didn't appear for Brentford before his move to Newcastle, where he is yet to make his debut after sustaining a knee injury on international duty with DR Congo.
"If you look at Yoane's situation, he will need almost a pre-season," Howe admitted.
"Pre-season schedules that we give to players will be six weeks. And we do that for a reason, so we can build them up and they can play in various games, and then they're ready to perform.
"I'm not saying he won't play for six weeks but, to get to his very best level, it will probably take that time. Firstly, before we get to that stage, we need to get him fully 100 per cent fit and then we can really push him. He's on that road.
"He's been to see a specialist yesterday. That was a routine appointment. "He's on track. He's doing well. So now I think we can push him a little bit harder. Still the same (early November). I'm losing track of weeks. It's not changed."

Marco Silva sees Newcastle's big summer signing as a major threat
The lanky German is getting praise for his performances.
Marco Silvaspoke about a big threat that Fulham have to shackle on the weekend.
Newcastle United lost Alexander Isak on deadline day for a British record fee of £125 million. But they had pre-emptively moved for a replacement, spending a club record £69 million on Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade. A 6'6" lanky attacker, there were visible similarities to the Swedish striker.
However, Woltemade is a different profile of central forward: his carries, creativity, link-up play and neat flicks are unusual for a man of his frame and he is learning to be more ruthless in the final third.
So far, it has been a successful alliance. Even if the Toon have struggled for consistency, Woltemade scored in his first three Premier League games at St. James' Park, pulled off a beautiful backheel equaliser against Brighton, and was a key figure in the 3-0 victory against Benfica in the Champions League.
"Very good striker, very good striker. They had, last three seasons, an unbelievable striker, too. It's not something new for them. It is a good sign, for them as a football club. When they lose a great striker – because Liverpool spent that amount of money on him – that means recruitment, and they did it well.
"They went for a slightly different style: to spend the money they spent on him and the impact that he has had straightaway, I think is very good. One is slightly different, probably not so aggressive in the space like Isak was, much more a player linking the play. And, of course, inside the box he can score.
"He showed already that inside the box he can score in many different ways. The game against Brighton is a good example, the way he was able to finish in that way and score in that way.
"He's a very good one – the way sometimes he can be the extra midfielder and he'll come to link their game and support for them to beat the first pressure. Inside the box his profile is a very good one."

Marco Silva stresses the importance of Newcastle's atmosphere
The Fulham head coach commented on the weekend's opposition.
Marco Silva spoke about the challenge of competing against Newcastle United.
An aggressive, physical unit, the Toon finished fifth last year in the Premier League and won the Carabao Cup. Yet, Fulham beat them 3-1 at home and 2-1 away, so they will fancy their chances.
If a victory is going to come their way, Silva knows that this history means very little. The Cottagers have seen fine margins go against them many times this season, so they must fight for every detail.
"It's always very difficult place, but itis one of the most um beautiful play places to play football and to enjoy a football match 100%. It is a lovely place to enjoy a football match and a great challenge.
"They are going to test ourselves their team, their tactical behaviour. This is place where you feel that you are going to be tested by the fans as well because I really believe that they play a big part on the way they play. They are brave, aggressive and their fanbase and that stadium plays a big part on it.
"We need to stick with our plan and don't change because the environment plays a a big part. That is the reason why you feel better at home than away. We have to focus on what's happening in the pitch, take decisions every moment of the game and try to avoid as much as you can all that pressure.
"We have enough maturity and experience in our team um and we have to enjoy this type of moments even if they test you at your best level. You have to enjoy it if you are a football player, if you are a manager and we as a team we have to enjoy this type of challenge.
"Last season we were able to change completely the recent record of our club against Newcastle away. Last season we made the double with them and it was a great game for us there. The way we were losing the game and you turn it around from ourselves um and we are going to try to do the same to win the football match.
"They had a midweek game, but they did it very well. Great win for them the way they achieve it in a competition like Champions League. But Saturday is going to be a different one and we want to get back in a good in a good ways in terms of results and so this is another opportunity for us."

Marco Silva hopes for the fitness of a midfielder in an 'aggressive' battle
The Fulham head coach continues to work with a stretched squad.
Marco Silva shared some updates about the health of the Fulham squad for the weekend.
There are several absentees, but ahead of a clash between the Cottagers and Newcastle United, there are a couple of figures who are set to return after the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Craven Cottage.
One of those players is a man in the middle of the park who could be critical in a key set of duels.
"Kenny Tete was in contention. He was on the bench not 100% last game. He is training with the team and he is going to be in contention. Probably Sasa Lukic can be in contention too.
"Sasa is very important. We know how Newcastle are strong almost in all the positions, how they are aggressive in a good way. That battle in the middle is going to be crucial like it was last season in both games for us to be able to win the game against Sandro Tonali, Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes.
"They are they are solid, they are compact, they are aggressive, they are physical as well. And of course we have to be at least to reach the same level of intensity and all that stuff for us to play in the way you want to play and of course to control them, to be able to and to create what we need.
"Tom Cairney, there is nothing special as we expected is going to be to be in contention and the other players they are still out.
"Antonee Robinson is going to be out plus Joachim Andersen, Samuel Chukwueze, Rodrigo Muniz. I think they are enough in terms of numbers. They are very important players for us.
"The week after in terms of numbers is important for us with the Carabao Cup game and then the next Premier League match. Let's see how it goes the next few days.
"We have a doubtful with Harry Wilson too because he came with a problem last international pack he played the two games with um with Wales and he came with a problem made a big effort to play the game. Let's see how it's going to be um tomorrow and after I'm going to take a decision."

Marco Silva searches for positives from defeat to Arsenal
The Fulham head coach commented on another league loss.
Marco Silvashared his takeaways from a 1-0 defeat for Fulham at Craven Cottage against Arsenal.
The Cottagers were strong in the first half hour against the leaders of the Premier League, who had drawn 1-1 and lost 2-1 in their last trips to the ground in West London. However, they failed to register a single shot on target, even with Raul Jimenez on the pitch, and they were punished.
Gabriel Magalhaes got a crucial flick at a corner, and Leandro Trossard turned the ball into the back of the net to put the guests in the lead. Kevin was lucky to avoid conceding a penalty for a tackle on Bukayo Saka, but the final siege from Fulham was not enough to make good on their fortune.
It was another performance where fine margins were involved and improvement could be made: the hope will be that three points come from the contest againt Newcastle United.
"Difficult one like as we expected of course every time you play against Arsenal is going to be always a difficult game. They came to play against us in a very good moment. They are top of the league.
"They one of the most solid teams so far in in the season, but of course the result wasn't what we wanted and uh not a positive one for us. We have to look at all the picture to take some positives from the game. It was not a game that we created many chances as well but Arsenal did not either.
"We know we have to create more even if Arsenal is a solid side um but the attitude the commitment from the players was good. The fanbase was completely behind us and push us in the last 20 minutes, we push more to try to equalize the game.
"The first 30 minutes they were from a good level from ourselves probably the best moments of the game that first 30 minutes. We didn't score, which always important to do, and of course after they scored, it was more difficult for us. No points but positives in a difficult moment."

Fulham boss Marco Silva states Calvin Bassey's only flaw
Fulham head coach Marco Silva has revealed where Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey needs to improve, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old played 35 of the Cottagers' 38 English Premier League games last season, and has featured in every game for them this season, but he came off the bench in the 82nd minute against Arsenal last week.
Ahead of Fulham's game against Newcastle United, the former Watford manager revealed he chose Jorge Cuenca over Bassey in their loss to the Gunners because the former Rangers centre-back can sometimes be unreliable in the air.
Silva urges Bassey to be better in the air for Fulham
"Calvin had an amazing season last year – very quick, strong, the most agile one," the Portuguese manager said in an interview with Jon Harland, as revealed by Hounslow Herald.
"But I knew Cuenca was more than capable of doing the job. He's given us all the confidence to start him.
"Even if sometimes the team sheet doesn't show it, he's a very important player for us."
Behind the scenes, Silva says Cuenca has been a model professional, despite the frustration of limited minutes, and that attitude is a part of the reason why the Spaniard started over Bassey against Arsenal.
"Cuenca is a top guy, working hard every single day. Of course, in some moments he's not so happy because he's not playing — and I want them not happy if they're not playing.
"But the way he trains, prepares himself and pushes others — he's a great example.
"To not have doubts, to leave out a player like Calvin and start Cuenca, that shows the confidence we have in him," Marco Silva concluded.
Fulham have a tricky task later today as they travel to St. James Park to face a Newcastle United side who've won three of their last five games across all competitions.
