That means that Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze will miss the Burnley game too on the 13th, as I doubt they will play two games in two days. Not sure when they will join the national team, but I think they will be available for the Crystal Palace game as it's a week before that friendly(+ they'll be available for the game tomorrow obviously).
The release date for AFCON players was set for Dec 8th. We'll see if clubs push back on that and try to force it later, but they will be available for Palace regardless.

Missed that, but that's good news, although I did think they would be available for Palace.
Even if some clubs manage to do it(I'm not exactly sure when everyone playes their games both in terms of clubs and national teams so maybe the situation is similar to ours), I doubt we'll be able to force it later considering our last game is a day before their friendly against Egypt. The whole point of that friendly is to get ready for the AFCON, so I'm sure they'll want a full squad in that match.
I don't see the point in getting upset about AFCON and our missing players, we were well aware of AFCON when we signed them so only ourselves to blame.
Burnley also have three players going to AFCON: Foster, Tuanzebe and Hannibal.
It would appear as if our AFCON bound players just might be available for Burnley.

A shame we will be without them for the cup game(s)
Cuenca and Kevin coming in for Chuk and Bassey is fine but to lose Iwobi at 8 and have no creative replacement is a huge blow

Hopefully Lukic and Berge can find their groove again. I've liked Iwobi in the 8, but we also had a lot of success last season with Lukic and Berge starting every game. They've had some disappointing games together this campaign however.

Does anyone know why Chukwueze hasn't already joined the Nigeria camp, while Iwobi and Bassey did?
And no Victor Osimhen 🤷🏻
He started for Galatasaray on Saturday

Maybe he had to go back to Milan for some personal stuff for a day or something. Might not have had a chance since joining.
