What was once an innocent childhood ditty now seems filled with foreboding - just what are these 'teddy bears' having for their picnic, crack cocaine and vodka? rather than the cheese and tomato sandwiches, cake and  lemonade, I remember from childhood!

Rupert even gave me a sense of foreboding in childhood despite the joy of his adventures, wandering the woods and discovering secret tunnels, etc.  I found it very disconcerting that his mother and father did not appear to understand that he was a completely different species.

For our confused American gentleman.
This was a cartoon series for kids called Captain Pugwash. Seaman Staines = ***** stains, Master Bated = masturbates and Roger the Cabin Boy = Roger is penetrating someone from behind. How the hell it got past the BBC censors nobody knows.
Bit like Henny Everett with Cupid Stunt.
