Looks genuine, club handing out free tickets for the West Ham game for residents

We all found FFC in different ways, would be interesting to know if they've converted any locals with the freebies?

Clear sign you don't live here on a match day

Sorry, only been coming to the club for fifty years. Always parked locally and now I have a twenty minute walk minimum.
People who move into the area should do so on the basis that there is a football club here and oh dear for a few hours a year the roads are a bit busy.
Yep, no longer a local, just the forty odd mile drive in for every match.

Giving freebies away? Obviously pricing structure not attractive enough to sell out?

Did you read about the Fulham Pier 10 k run if you pay £70 you get a Brentford away ticket thrown in absolute disgrace

Personally, I think it's a good initiative.

It shows local residents that the club is considering them and appreciates the inconvenience it causes them on match and "event" days.

It also allows local residents (and let's face it, many of them will be quite wealthy) to sample the Riverside stand and its hospitality and may attract a few to frequent them in the future (by the way, I notice they're not offering free tickets to the Hammy End and accompanying toilets!).

Anyway, sounds a good plan to me. It's important to keep the locals onside, especially if the club are looking at ways to increase revenue by possibly expanding non-match day events in the future.

Sounds good to me, I might give that a go, love a good 10k, might not be so much fun for the person that has to sit next to me

Lovely gesture from the club to give local residents free tickets. Getting underprivileged kids into the ground is very welcome.

As for the fun run, I guess it was either a tacky plastic medal or a trip to Brentford. The lessor of two evils?

Very sensible initiative in my view. As others have said, the local demographic is now quite wealthy, it's good to have them on side and if a few are persuaded to visit the new stand more often then it's a commercial win (whatever the traditionalists amongst us might think about such "support").
