Title: Southampton tickets selling well
Post by: RAY Rock on February 26, 2026, 02:21:14 PM
😂🤣😂 3/4 of the ground still available stupid prices stupid time and day.
Fulham have completely missed the boat on this . But if you pay £60 for the 10k fulham pier run you can get a Brentford away ticket also if you live near the ground you can get a free West Ham home ticket in the riverside stand but wouldn't lower prices for Southampton in the Cup you couldn't make this stuff up if you tried . No Fulham fan can can put up a argument to say what they are doing is correct.

You do realise that Brentford (sorry I mean Fulham) have no control over kick off time and the day on which the game is played?

Fulham are also not in control of the price - it has to be agreed
Given Southampton's current position - this is likely to be there seasons big payday

Not sure it is much of a pay day for Soton

The kick off time is absolutely nothing to do with FFC, the ticket pricing is absolutely fine. I totally fail to see how the club have missed any sort of boat.
The OP has a silly obsession and just looks to literally invent opportunities to slag off our club. Why on earth we continue to allow this WUM to post on here is beyond me.

Did someone post that the club "have no say"?
Nope, you made it up
What they don't have is the final say, it has to be agreed.

Lowering ticket prices for a game that is played on a Sunday at 12.00 against championship opposition would have been a good will message from the club

Sunday midday is a solid day and time for the game, local or shorter travel Fulham fans especially with children it works for them, obviously longer travel Fulham fans and the Southhampton Team and fans its an early start for them , most of the Pubs are open 10am so enough time for a pint or two beforehand

Midday on a Sunday is perfect for me...free parking nearby, less traffic & I'll get back to Eastbourne in daylight... I'm contemplating going to this one.... I'm wanting to see the Riverside Stand

Tickets are certainly selling well in Southampton, over 4,000 sold and they've asked for more. Let's see what the attendance is before lambasting the club, again.

All Riverside tickets are well below half the normal price but don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant
Title: Re: Southampton tickets selling well
Post by: KentFulham on February 27, 2026, 09:45:39 AM
It is half price, but To be fair to the OP, most people hear have voiced views that the standard prices at Fulham are too high, so it is half an overinflated base and about a quarter of normal riverside tickets

Sitting in the Riverside will probably be a sensible move then - at least we can dunk him in the Thames if he spontaneously combusts.

He's right. I'm a Hammy End season ticket holder and I sat in the corner of the lower Riverside for a cup match. The subs constantly obstruct the view of people sitting in that area. When they're not stretching and warming up they're chatting to each other. I would never choose to sit there again.

The OP was correct, looks like the sales have picked up, hopefully it'll sell out.

Ray Rock's sarcastic title for his post may prove to be correct "ticket's selling well", but I fear he will take no pleasure if he turns out to have been right.

Seats all over the place unsold completely dropped the ball Fulham in the biggest game of the season. What did I expect they can't even get Silva to sign an extension complete amateur hour.

Why does it matter so much to you? Brentford don't get a cut of the ticket sales.

It matters because the ground should be a sell out with the next generation of Fulham fans watching. It is the biggest game of the season and it is going to look empty on tv the kids tickets are reasonable but £ 30- £40 for a adult is ridiculous in my opinion especially when it is a Sunday at 12.00.

The attendance tomorrow will be more than the capacity of Legoland Stadium. No ambition when they built that ground.

I'll bite -
What did I expect they can't even get Silva to sign an extension complete amateur hour.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe just maybe Silva doesn't want to sign a new contract and/or that maybe he wants to see what other offers are out there first.
The Club cannot force him to sign - have you ever been in contract negotiations. It takes two to tango and the proverbial horse can be led to water but you cannot make it drink

In other words FFS give it a rest

Looking at the seating map it is very empty other than Riverside and Southampton, they were asking for more tickets but not sure what the club gave

I had a look at their forum & I think we stipulated they pay in full for extra tickets in the Putney End. The Saints are never going to accept that financial risk.

Had to laugh (or cry) at their accurate assessment that our ground is probably the easiest for an away fan to buy tickets in home areas.

Fair play to their fans aiming to get to the Eight Bells by 10am.

Not sure when you looked but the JH is almost sold aside from the very ends and I would estimate HE 60% sold. I would guess we are looking at 20k+ tomorrow. Personally I think a noon ko on a Sunday is the biggest issue for many not an extra £5 on a ticket

Basically the cost of a cup ticket is agreed between the two clubs. The away team take a cut of the proceeds, so they are clearly interested in making sure the ticket cost is high. In a nutshell the ticket cost is not solely a FFC decision.

It is of course easy to blame the club for just about anything. Subs warming up blocking my view for 90 minutes? Blame the club. Ticket prices too high? Knock the club. Haven't sold out our away allocation? Blame the club. Silva hasn't signed a contract? Blame the club (though perhaps a basic knowledge of employment law would help here: you can't force someone to sign a contract, it's not the 19th century). And so on.

Dropping the price by 5 pounds on a 20,000 crowd costs the club/Soton/FA 100,000 pounds. At 25 pound a ticket you need to sell another 4,000. Do you think 5 pound will change the minds of over 4,000 people for a 1200 hours on a Sunday morning kick off? I would guess not.

That said there would be an increase in non ticket sale items on the day, club shop, food, drink etc. The club will also have a bunch of fixed costs on the day so it could be quite advantageous to have a lower price.

I guess the club will know the AVG spend PP on match day etc.

Maybe there was no atmosphere because it was a sh1t show of a performance for most of the 90 minutes
We are out because of the manager's selection, the tactics and the players lethargic performance, not because the tickets were £5 more than you thought they should be
