Title: Sunday's Fulham news...
Post by: WhiteJC on March 06, 2026, 02:13:23 PM
just a quick "heads up" to let you know that I'll not be able to do "the news" on Sunday as I'm coming down to Ewell for my nieces engagement party.

Allied to that, the "site Admin" has very generously given me a ticket to sit in the new stand, including half-time food, for the Southampton game.

I'm sure I'll be back in Nottingham sometime Sunday evening so there will be "news" on Monday

You deserve a day off!

Interestingly, we seem to have quite a contingent of Fulham fans in Nottingham. My son is there for uni and knows of at least 4 (now) friends and the bloke who sits behind me travels from Nottingham every game.

funnily enough we ended up in Nottingham because my eldest daughter attended Uni here, met her (now) husband, had a family and stayed.

both me and the wife took early retirement and moved up here, after a couple of years my wife decided I needed to "get out of the house" so I got a part time job at B&Q where I've met several Notts County, Derby and Leicester fans, strangely I can't think of any Forest supporters except my grandson, and his Dad, my son in law, is a Celtic (Irish family) and Leicester supporter.

Most of my neighbours are Newcastle fans, I live in an ex-mining village where, in the 60's, they were brought in to work at the, now closed, local mine from Newcastle and a few from Birmingham, I think the majority of the Brummies have gone back, we're only an hour or so from Birmingham and 3 or 4 hours from Newcastle.

I've not come across any local "London team" supporters of any flavour, however when I used to travel down regularly to games by train there was always a couple of groups, most of who were from further t'up north

Simply not good enough White JC !

I jest of course  as we would be lost without you.
Interesting how you ended up in a mining village in Nottinghamshire- I ( via other diversions Uni etc ) went from a mining village in said county ( Rainworth ) to Putney.
I suppose I am not that surprised that you haven't met any Stags fans - but as long as you don't associate with any Spirerites I will be happy.

Have a great day off and a huge thank you
